Two weeks ago our furnace had trouble starting up when the heat was turned on. I would flip the disconnect off and then on again to get it started. I used to troubleshoot our old furnace, but our new furnace was all electronic, so I was lost. We called Elm and got an early appointment for the next day. Jerry Z came out. He had serviced my old furnace and generator before and had always given me good advice for just about every appliance we had. Jerry showed me how to diagnose the trouble codes by counting out the blinking light pattern and reading off the code list on the inside panel. He explained that by turning off the disconnect, I had cleared the code and the furnace cycled up again, but without diagnosing the problem, it might have turned into a bigger problem. In this case, the thermocouple needed cleaning. Jerry showed me where it was and explained how to clean it. He also gave a few other helpful tips for preventative maintenance. If anyone wants a good service tech who is willing to explain his work in an easy-to-understand method, then I would recommend Jerry Z.
We called Elm and they came out as promised during the time they said. Our technician Jeff was friendly, and very professional. He fixed the problem promptly and explained the repair. We have used Elm in the past and will use them again. They seem very honest!
Elm's technician Jerry Z. performed the annual maintenance on our whole-house generator. He was most competent and professional and took time to explain some 'tech stuff' to this very 'untech' Grandma. Highly recommend Jerry for his proficiency and congenial manner.
Our technician Tony C. was professional,courteous,and knowledgeable. He explained everything he was doing and answered all my questions. He even suggested work that I should consider having done before my warranty ran out. I would recommend this company to everyone.
Jeff C. was the tech that came out for a "20 Point" boiler and furnace inspection. Very nice guy. Was very knowledgeable about both systems and pointed out things that needed attention. Told me up front what parts would cost that he thought needed changing. Performed the work quickly and cleaned up after he was done. I signed up for the Planned Maintenance Program so now they owe me a free inspection on my AC next spring.

[redacted] arrived on time and fully explained his work. He recommended a different type of filter for us to use and offered that if we forget the size, to call the office because they keep all notes on each customer. He offered two additional inspections, one of which we decided to do.
I called Elm, and Technician Jeff C. came out. I know Elm because they installed a new furnace on an emergency basis last December which is still within the one year warranty period (and they got the job because they were the most responsive during that very busy season). I requested this visit because I suspected water that leaked from the AC coil into the furnace this summer may have been due to disturbance of the condensate drain during the furnace installation process and was causing damage to the new furnace. Jeff C. very patiently listened to my observations and suspicions, checked the furnace (minor rusting in one place), dismantled the AC coil housing, and determined that the old condensate pipe in question was plugged up and appeared to have been broken and puttied together during a previous AC installation and the obviously old putty had hardened and deteriorated. He gave me a comparison of costs to remove/reinstall the coil in order to access and repair the drain on this model, and clean it up (which it needed, I could see!) versus putting in a new coil. No pressure, but I opted for the new coil. Jeff C. even attended to the humidifier for the heating season and taught me (patiently again) what to do for it. Thanks!
WOW! What a great company fast affordable service. I had a big problem with furnace called ELM HEATING they sent TONY C the service tech over he was there less than 15 min, found the problem and with the help of the management I got over $100 off as a senior citizen! My furnace is now running great!

I requested a second opinion when we were informed that we needed a new air conditioner. Jeff C. one of the best service techs at Elm Heating was great at taking care of the system and there was no need to replace the system. He gave it a few more years of service.
