Our Service Director reached out to the guest after the last response and it is our understanding that we have done what we can to resolve the issue at hand. We consider the matter resolved and asked the guest to speak to the Service Director in the future with any concerns or questions he may have.

Elmore Toyota is a family-owned dealership ran by scammers from the owners down. They use multiple scams:
1. Have one sale man pretends that the deal was approved under false pretense.
2. Then obtain customer's personal private information SSN, employer, income, etc.
and pull the customer's credit reports.
3. Then claim that the deal was not approved by the desk manager and thereby the price is increased. By this time, the customer already gave out their private financial info in addition to spending a lot of time. So it makes it harder for the customers to leave.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted].   I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.
The resolution by Elmore has only been resolved 50%.  The $1000 promise to credit my Toyota Finicial Credit balance has been performed by the dealership.  As part of my overall complaint of Elmore's business practice requiring me to cancel unwanted add on options has not yet been deposited in my account.  I was promised a 10 day to 2 week processing time to complete the refund of my wheel and tire warranty program.  Now 16 days later my account has not yet been credited the $795 add on fee for the wheel and tire warranty that I have canceled.  My cancelation of this wheel and tire warranty was submitted the same day that the $1000 refund  agreement was reached.
If I had not filed this Revdex.com complaint about being overcharged for my vehicle I would have never known that Elmore informed True Car buyer service that the price they sold me the 2015 Prius C was in fact $1000 less than the actual price they sold me the car.  So, as far as True Car was concerned they were under the impression that Elmore honored their promise of selling me the Prius C at a reasonable price, but in fact Elmore deceived True Car saying that I saved $1000 when in fact Elmore was taking my $1000 and pocketing that $1000.
Thankfully I took the time and energy and filed my Revdex.com complaint.  I got the $1000 Elmore had been keeping from me.  Although I have now received the $1000 I would have NEVER received my $1000 had it not been for my persistence and the filing of this Revdex.com.  Thanks for the help and making Elmore credit the money that should have been mine the day of the sale.
Now I wait for my $795 refund of the cancellation of the tire and wheel warranty, and until I receive that credit, this case will still remain open.

Am I happy with the resolution of my complaint?  Well, I can live with it, but Elmore has made me aware that Elmore is in business solely to make a profit without any concern for honest truthful business practices.
Regards,
[redacted]

The issue with Mr. [redacted] has been resolved. The price that was negotiated that day was $29,000 plus fees. On the contract it stated $31,850. Customer came in to our dealership spoke to our General Sales Manager...

[redacted] who cleared up the miscommunication. Elmore Toyota has made a check out for the difference of $2,850 to Toyota Financial. Everything has been cleared and the customer is happy.

Mr. [redacted] contacted us after stating that he noticed that one of his aftermarket lights was, by his assumption, damaged by our car wash. He notified us of this one or two days after he picked up his vehicle....

While we could not verify that we damaged anything, we agreed to have the light repaired at a facility that specializes in aftermarket accessories. We referred Mr. [redacted] to the facility and alerted them that we would be covering the cost of the repair. Two days after speaking to the repair facility, they called us and stated that Mr. [redacted] came in but he did not want the light to be repaired, which they were more than willing and capable of doing, he wanted lighting replaced. The facility also noted that they spoke to him about the brackets and installation, and he told them that they were homemade by himself. The independent repair facility also noted that they told Mr. [redacted] that the wires looked cut, not like they were pulled loose by something. They stated that they reassured him that they could fix it but he refused the repair and told them he would file a complaint to the Revdex.com and the BAR. Seeing as we were not even sure that we were at fault for the damage and were fixing as a goodwill gesture, we rescinded our previous offer to repair and asked that he not return to our facility.

Review: I am a military veteran and [redacted] member. I went thru the [redacted] and [redacted] buying service. They set me up with Elmore Toyota in Westminster, CA. I rcv'd my price quote of the car I wanted to buy, a 2015 new Toyota Prius C two for $17680. I was to meet with internet sales manager [redacted] on August 2nd as he promised. I arrived at dealership at agreed upon time. Unknown to me, [redacted] was off that day despite our previously agreed upon meeting time. I was given a 13 day old employee, not a veteran sales manager as part of the contract between [redacted], [redacted], and Elmore. I presented my [redacted] Guaranteed Savings Certificate showing the make and model and price of $17680.The dealership acknowledged my certificate and had a car available for me to test drive. Initially unknown to me to car I test drove was a 2015 Prius C one, the lowest trim available for the Prius C. While on the test drive the new salesman said this model was a one not two. I asked to see the a two so I might compare the features. I didn't notice any huge differences other than I had wanted a 60/40 split rear seat available on the two, and unknown to me the one doesn't even have cruise, a huge surprise I found out the following day.I have had two previous purchases thru this internet process. In and out of the door in 90 minutes. This transaction took almost 4 hours. The issue.....Bait and switch advertising! The dealership and I had agreed in print by my Guaranteed Savings Certificate that I would purchase a 2015 Prius C two for $17680 plus TTL.Thru their Bait and Switch advertising they got me to the dealership. Four hours later I drove away in a 2015 Prius C one, with 180 miles on it, titled as used because a previous sale fell thru because of financing issues, and I paid $1999 more than the $17680 guaranteed price.Totally disgusted that I got taken advantage of, not the way I expected to be treated as a US Army veteran. There are add'l contract items that will have to be addressed in another claim.Desired Settlement: I had an agreed upon price in writing from this dealership.Thru their Bait and Switch tactics they sold me a used vehicle at a lower trim level for $1999 more in price.I am willing to accept the used vehicle at the lower trim level, but I want the dealership to honor the agreed upon price of $17860 that was guaranteed by them in writing, even though I now own a used vehicle at a lower trim level, but I am willing to accept those facts as long as Elmore honors the $17860 written price guarante

For some reason Elmore Toyota's Revdex.com contact did not receive this complaint until the 2nd request.

Fortunately, Mr. Thias contacted our Sales Manager again and they were able to resolve this complaint.

We take all Revdex.com inquiries very seriously and apologize for the delay in our response.

Review: In the new year, I was driving to work when I saw a billboard advertising a $9.95 oil change special from Elmore Toyota of Westminster. I called Elmore Toyota to make an appointment for an oil change, and asked if the special was still active. The service department rep at Elmore said it was. So because she confirmed the deal, I booked an appointment for the oil change.

When I arrived at Elmore on date scheduled, and asked again about the special, the service rep said that offer ended on December 31, 2014. When I told him that there was a billboard advertising the special still up and a rep said they would still honor the deal over the phone, they said they were sorry and would take down the billboard, which to date they haven’t, despite more than 8 days since they promised they would.

When I complained about the false advertising, they said there was nothing they can do, but they’d offer the next oil change appointment for free in about 6 months time, if I paid the full amount this time.

When I got home later, a service rep called me at home asking about the quality of their service. I had complained to her that I thought the billboard they had up was a “bait and switch” scam designed to lure customers in for services. She apologized and told me that, while the billboard was still up in public view, that Elmore would honor anyone asking about the special while the billboard was still up.

At that point, I scheduled another oil change appointment for my mother’s Toyota, which they told me over the phone they would honor for the $9.95 special. When my father took my mother’s car to Elmore, the service rep at Elmore again told him that they would not honor the $9.95 deal, despite the fact that he again pointed out the billboard and the promise from Elmore reps over the phone that they would honor the deal.

Elmore Toyota is deliberately engaging in false and deceptive advertising for luring potential victims into the dealership for a “bait and switch" scam.Desired Settlement: I want my money back from these scam artists.

Review: Car was listed on the Elmore Toyota site for 16,500. When contacted about it they had me fill out a credit application, as we talked about meeting halfway between San Diego and Westminster to do the transaction for the car. Upon completion of the credit application, I was notified that there was an "issue" with the online pricing, and the company that does the internet pricing for Elmore messed up and was using the price that they bought it for, and the real price is over 21,000. This is false advertising to get people into the dealership and then explain the "error". Good think I didn't drive 90 minutes to the dealership!Desired Settlement: Honor the 16,500 price for the 2010 Cypress Pearl Toyota Highlander

Business

Response:

I just ended my conversation with Mr. [redacted] to his satisfaction. I had explained to him that the price had been changed in error from a third party website due to a clerical error, and that the price had been changed back to the appropriate price of $21881. He said that it had then been back at the $16500 two days later, at which time I had found that there had been computer data exporting issues which I had found and remedied. Mr. [redacted] gets up to Orange County a few times a year, and what we both agreed upon a car wash, vacuum and a full tank of gas to compensate him for his time and energies that he put forth in trying to purchase this car. I gave Mr. [redacted] my personal cell number so he can give me a heads up as to when he might be here in the area so we can take care of him.

Respectfully,

Regards,

Review: I took my car in for service at the business for the 60K maintenance service. I dropped off my car and when I went to pick it back up, the service rep stated that my total was $213.05. I notified him that I purchased the Platinum package that should include maintenance and I should not have to pay anything out of pocket. He click several times on his keyboard and stated that I my maintenance package had expired. I paid $213.05 in full and left. This occurred on 6/22/15. A few weeks later, I called Toyota Maintenance Care and they stated that in fact I did have maintenance coverage. He looked through the database and stated that no one from Elmore Toyota had even called them to check the status of my warranty. He further stated that I should not have had to pay anything out of pocket for the work that was done (factory order maintenance at 60K miles).Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund for the monies that I paid out of pocket and the hassle of going back and forth with the service department and Toyota Maintenance.

Response:

When Ms. [redacted] brought in her vehicle for service, we pulled up her information in National Service History and saw that her service plan had expired by mileage, although it was still within the time frame. Ms.[redacted] decided to proceed with a major service (60k). After getting the service Ms. [redacted] contacted Toyota to see if she still had a valid service available to be redeemed and says she was told that she did and that everything should have been covered. Ms. [redacted] contacted us shortly after stating that she had spoken to Toyota and she wanted a refund for the service paid. We assured her that we would call Toyota to confirm and if that was the case, we would give her a refund.

Elmore Toyota contacted Toyota and was told that although her plan had expired by mileage, she could still use the one remaining service that was available on her plan which was a minor service (5k) valued at $30.

Upon receiving this information, the Service Director called Ms.[redacted] and left a voice message stating the information we had gotten from Toyota. At that point the Service Director gave the name of the person we spoke to at Toyota and offered either a refund for the minor service portion of $30 or the option to use that at a later date. She never responded to the Service Directors message.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I tried to call Carlos back several times and he was unavailable-with a customer or in a meeting per the rep I spoke to. I would like a complete refund and the money from my coverage that was supposed to be used towards my service can be used towards the services provided.

Review: I leased a vehicle from Elmore Toyota on 5-31-2014. The vehicle itself has no problems. I live in Colorado, the vehicle was purchased in California. The dealership and/or financier (toyota financial svcs) has failed to Title the vehicle. The Colorado state law provided the dealer with 60 days from the date of sale to provide title and registration information to register and plate the vehicle, which they have failed to do. Today is actually 107 days from the sale date, the title and registration has not yet been issued. I have been working very closely with my local DMV in Pitkin county, CO. I have used a temporary permit at my own cost until 90 days was met, at which point the temporary permit could not be renewed due to a 90 day limit on permits. Without the permit or actual plates and registration, the vehicle cannot be driven. At this point I am paying a lease on a vehicle that cannot legally be driven. I have found it extremely difficult to speak with management personnel at Elmore Toyota, and most commonly speak with voice mail. Several personnel at Elmore Toyota are fully aware of the situation, and can be named if needed. There has not yet been a point where any person at Elmore could even estimate when a solution will be reached. A conversation today with Elmore's "Finance Manager" and with their own "DMV Clerk" revealed that some small progress has been made, but no definitive time frame for a solution can be ascertained.Desired Settlement: I would like Elmore Toyota to return this vehicle, afterwards I will lease another vehicle from a more reputable dealer. I would like to eliminate my association with Elmore Toyota altogether. I will likely lease the same type of vehicle, as I am very happy with that aspect of the purchase, but from a dealer in Colorado.

Before my face he said he agreed $29,000 and when he went to finance office ,he said $31,850 and that why the guys in office finance did $31,850. Wow, super lie! Regards,

Review: I recently purchased a used car from Elmore Toyota. The salesman and the used car sales manager failed to disclose a suspension problem to me. The car needs a whole new front suspension which is a safety issue. I was told the car went thru a 160point inspection and that the car ran great. After I purchased the car and was driving it home I started to hear a "clunking" noise. I called the dealership right away and I was told to bring the car back in and that they would fix it but since it was Sunday and the service dept was closed to bring it in on Monday. On Monday the service advisor calls me and tells me about the car needs to have the front struts replaced, upper strut mounts and both lower control arms. The service advisor also mentioned to me that the used car manager knew of the suspension issues and said oh well someone will buy it. Well that "sucker" was me. Yes I got duped and I feel that the sales practice of this dealership should be held liable and either return my money or at the very least repair the car so it is safe. How can you sell a car knowing it has severe safety issues? Isn't this against the law? It should be!! They offer a 24hr warranty for over $250.00 which the finance manager talked me out of. He said its worthless and I never sell any of these. Its just another way for the dealership to make money. It all seems so unfair. I would hope the owners of this dealership have a heart and care about each and every customer.Desired Settlement: $5000.76 cash back or fix the cars suspension

We have been in contact with the customer and the vehicle is being fixed in our service department.

Review: As a first time buyer, I went to look at Elmore Toyota due to the promising advertisement. I was told first off the bat to check my credit. The sales person came rushing out telling me there may be this one car I qualify for. When he showed me the car I immediately told the sales person that I am not interested the car. He said just give it a test drive so I did. He kept pressuring me into thinking this is the only thing I can get at 627 credit score. He persuaded me into thinking I can build my credit first then trade on the car for the one I want eight months to a year later. When he showed me the pricing...he said after tax it will be only almost 24k but I will be able to build credit with all these warranties that I will have on my car. Having that price in mind and the pressure to build my credit as well as not being able to buy a car with my credit score, I agreed on the car. When I came inside the office to talk numbers, none was presented or explained to me. I signed the electronic pad as directed without explaining the details. I was told my car came with all these toyota warranties. Seeing the price upon coming home was 29k before interest! Long story short, I contacted them, came out they pressure me and said stuff to me like "stop changing your mind", "Stop coming in here and playing games with us" this coming from the Sales Manager himself. I got stuck with another car, couldn't choose the color or features on a BRAND NEW CAR! I was pressured to trade for another car. I was TRAPPED with this dealership, the price got even higher the only thing I wanted on it was that it was CLOSE to what I came for. The pressure the stress the false verbal exchanges and the false advertisement said the Camery SE 2012 was almost 17K! Now I'm stuck with a Prius 2012 for 34k plus before interest. Seeing how I cant even talk to the manager without them talking down on me I left the car in the possession. they didnt contact me except dropped the car at my house that night.Desired Settlement: I've returned the car to them again hoping they will work with me as I am trying to file complaint and get help and talk to managers but no one was contacting me back with any reassurance that my case is being dealt with. I finally got hold of GM10/30th and has been waiting to hear back from him when once again I found the Prius 2012 outside my house. I do not know if the GM knew about this and allowed it to happen, I am hoping NOT. The GM said he will look my case over he's been busy and that he will call me again. So as I wait, I am unsure and I've been waiting long enough to hold off on filing a complaint because I wanted to settle this peacefully through the dealership first hand. But that is no longer the case. I HONESTLY is TRAUMATIZED by this whole experience and I can't eat, sleep, go to school, or concentrate on work these past few weeks! I want nothing to do with this dealership anymore except for a final goodbye by returning this car so the nightmare can end officially

Ms. [redacted] came in today 11/5/14 around 2:00pm.

I, [redacted], Customer Relations Manager met with Ms. [redacted] and her uncle. She is looking for Elmore Toyota to help her with the vehicle she purchased at our dealership. Customer feels she was pressured into making her second purchase when it was not her original choice of vehicle. She claims she was pressured into buying the car and was only given two options. I apologized to customer if she felt pressured into making the purchases she made or if our sales staff neglected to completely explain the basis of the deal and contract. I explained to her we have a new management team at Elmore Toyota and we do not want our customers to have bad experiences while doing business with Elmore Toyota. I also had customer speak to our General Sales Manager [redacted] and our Finance Director [redacted]. We have decided to go ahead and assist the customer by cancelling the contract with Capital One (her current financer) and let her go her way. She has already made a new purchase from another dealership. Customer has assured us she is happy and will keep a neutral relationship with Elmore Toyota. Customer signed paperwork for cancellation and has left the vehicle in our possession.

I let customer know we would be submitting this information to the Revdex.com.

Review: On June 11, 2014 Toyota Elmore accepted a signed contract to lease a car under my name when I was not present. My girlfriend was pressured by the salesman into signing my name. He took her to a lunch establishment next to the dealership and pressured her to sign my name to lease a car that was grossly over priced!! In no way would I have signed the contract and the salesman would not let my friend leave until she signed the contract. I was in [redacted] when the lease was signed! The Salesman should not have approved the deal without me present! I have tried many times to contact Elmore but they refuse to cooperate with me ! Unfortunately we could not obtain financing for the customer and/or the co-buyer. The customer contacted us to come get the car since she had no way of bringing it to us. The vehicle had thousands of dollars worth of damage.

Review: I went to Elmore Toyota to lease a car under the [redacted]. I asked them are you part of the [redacted]? They say yes, but this weekend we can offer you a better deal with 0% financing. But because of one disputed record on my credit report, they told me they were going to charge me .001%. Even though it was a year and a half ago, I just found out two months ago, that Elmore Toyota lied about my auto lease purchase. Then two months ago my bank sends me an email to refinance my car; since, I had refinance my previous [redacted] with them. I then examined the contract, of course, they do not disclose the percentage. I then a month ago to the dealer and asked them to explain the charges, because I could take the amount I am going to pay and the amount of the sale, and subtract it, getting the amount I am paying extra; which is the percentage. When I went to Elmore for explanations, [redacted] threw me out of the building and the Director of Finance, [redacted] picked up the phone so he would not be able to help me. I found out today that they are not members of the [redacted], and they lied to me about the .001%.

In addition, I told them I was going to take the contract home to read it first with a text to speech reader, because it hurts my injured brain to read with my eyes. Then they told to that they will read it for me; however, they just told me what they wanted to tell me but did not tell me I was being charged 19% the lease.

I have written to the general manager, [redacted] also, but he has not respond. I have been taken by them for over $4,000 for the lease. I even gave them over $8,000 down payment.Desired Settlement: Adjustment to .001%.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Dear [redacted]: I did not see their insignificant and small message at the bottom until today. Thank you. Thank you for your reply. Their deal was a rip-off, big time. It was so profitable, that my almost $10,000 down payment was not applied to the price. They are lying just as they have lied about everything from the beginning. I still have the window sticker. I just Purchase my car last month for $21,000. This is what should have been leased after my down payment. In other words, I wasted my down payment. They ripped me off big time. I purchased a [redacted] from [redacted], but they did not rip me off. El More Toyota subjects senior citizens to financial abuse and fraud. And right after they sold my car the sales person and the finance manager quit. So they have no clue as to what went on. They even told me that they would read the contract to me, because since 4 years ago due to an auto accident it hurts my injured brain to use my eyes to read. Therefore, I was going to bring the contract home to use my reader to read it, but they insisted in reading it to me. The fact is that they did not read much to me. The fact is that the contract is very convoluted and they did not explain anything to me. They told me they were giving me a better deal than through the [redacted], that I would be paying the equivalent to 0.001%. What I paid for the car was the amount after paying $10,000 down and $5,100 in 17 monthly payments. I am now paying under 3% and the car is mine. They only threw me out of the building, instead. For sure, I will make sure to alert customers. Can you imagine how dumb they are, they subject me to abuse and fraud and then throw me out of the building. Can you imagine how many loss of prospective customers that is going to cost them? Not too smart at all. And then they even lied about being a member of the [redacted], but they are not. The finance clerk yells at me and tells me I had bought a $40,000. Not on your life, I would have never purchase a car like that. The sticker is around $30,000, minus discounts. They are so fraudulent, that when I tried to speak to the director he pretended he was on the phone. Can you see how they have not credibility nor professionalism? Besides, I have been ripped off all around. The car was charging 14 miles at first, and now it only charges 8 miles, A TOTAL RIP OFF. I will be sure and print this email and send it to corporate. My next complaint will be the Attorney General, and then my attorney. I am trying to escalate my complaints so I can show that I gave them all the opportunities to right the wrongs they did to me. However, I have limited time due to my disabilities, but they have no heart, no conscience, no business sense, nor customer service skills. Since, when a business is focused on ripping people off, they are also ripping themselves off of God’s Graces; thus, without out God’s Wisdom, they are not too smart. There are complaints in [redacted]; [redacted]; Consumer Affairs; [redacted]; [redacted], to name a few. Why would I be wasting my time with false accusations? I have better things to do; since, I lost my entire career and dream come true at the time of the accident. How come I did not complaint about The 2008 [redacted] purchase at [redacted], where I will be returning for maintenance? Precisely, these is why GOD has been appearing for the last 30 years, desperately calling us, the lay people to help Him save the world, due to the corruption and disordered authority. Sincerely, in Jesus’ Trust, [redacted]

Regards,

Business

Im a female, I my spent whole day to went back and forth negrociating. Finally [redacted]- salesman called me when I just drove away the last time on Tuesday evening. He said come back right now, I will give you that car for 19k otd. Actually, the online quote was 20.888. So, the verbal agreement with 3 salesman was 19k out of door was a great deal. It was late, we were in hurry to closing up, the finance did not explaint any paper work to me at all, also trick me signing the contract cancellation while signing, he was in a hurry to leave. I took the car out of the dealer around 9:30 pmAfter a hectic day, I want home, sat down and looked at the paper work I just signed. The TOTAL SALE PRICE is $ 25,516.40 instead of 19k out of door price as we been agreed on.My mistake was I signed the paper work while I did not understand what they were. And They put the fraud odometer reading on the contract. It is almost 6,000 miles over the odometer reading on the car on vehicle delivery date.I couldn't sleep that night. The next morning- yesterday, I came back and complained. Both the sale man sold me a car and financial man who did my paper wasn't there. Another salesman- [redacted]- who pulled my credit report was there. You know, I just found out he put false information on my credit application so I can get a loan. I been filling out the form. I fixed something, [redacted]- the salesman told [redacted] let get a new form. They asked me signed, then he filled it base on what I wrote on the other form. But he changed the numbers"I told them about the over price on my price. But he said I signed it and he did not know what I did when I was with the finance guy. We discussed and then argued. I asked to speak to a manager. I asked to speak to a manager. They said the manager was not there. Come back tomorrow. Basically I have 72 hr of grace period to return the vehicle or fix the term of the loan upon the state of California community law..Desired Settlement: 1. Return the car or2. Sale price 19k + finance charge

Response:

Xuan [redacted] came in to the Dealership on the 29th and spoke to our Sales Manager, [redacted]. The customer's contract was rewritten with the Service contract removed. With the alarm purchase, the out the door price on the contract is now at the agreed upon amount. The concern of the odometer difference was a clerical error that has now been corrected.

I believe all of the customers concerns were met and hope she is satisfied with the end result.

Our apologies for any inconvenience this may of caused.
