Hello,

Thank you for contacting us about the status of your domain. Unfortunately, I'm showing that's it's no longer possible to recover this domain name as it has expired, went through our redemption grace period and is now under new ownership. While this is a bit lengthy, I have outlined the expiration process to help you better understand and provided a few options available to you at this time.

eNom is a technology provider that makes it possible for individuals and organizations to buy and sell internet domain names and services. Our partners rely on eNom to conduct or complement their business objectives. In this case, Google utilizes eNom technology to register domains through their Google Apps service. As your domain was originally registered through Google Apps, all payments and renewals for the domain would have been managed directly by Google. We were simply providing the back-end technology so Google can register and renew the domain name on your behalf. You can read more information about renewing Google Apps domains at the following Google support answer: http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=2814765.

Subsequent to your domain's expiration, it entered a 29 day grace period at which time you can continue your domain registration through Google Apps for up to 19 days during that period based on their support answer. Subsequent to the grace period provided by Google, eNom would have been able to assist you with renewing the domain for the remainder of the 29 day grace period. Also, at the time of expiration, the domain would have stopped resolving and any email addresses on the domain would also have stopped working. We do this to alert the registrant of the domain that a renewal is required.

At this time, all grace periods for renewal and redemption have lapsed. Following these grace periods, the domain is considered abandoned and, per our terms and conditions, we exercise the right to auction, sell, keep or delete the domain.

You may look at the current domain website, sometimes there may be a link to inquire if it is for sale. Or perhaps perform a WHOIS lookup at http://www.enom.com/whois on the domain and contact the current owner of the domain name to inquire whether they wish to sell the domain. Please note your email address will reach the registrant even if the domain is set to our WHOIS Privacy Protect service.

You may wish to search for an alternate spelling or extension, such as .BIZ or .CO for example. Or we suggest you participate in a backorder service through the NameJet website to increase your chances of being the first to register the domain should it expire or later be deleted: http://www.NameJet.com

If you have any additional questions about this matter, please feel free to contact us 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our support team is here to help by phone at +X-XXX-XXX-XXXX or online at http://www.enom.com/help.

Sincerely,

Technical Support

Consumer's Final Response /* (4200, 11, 2013/09/03) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

I have been contacted by enom regarding buying back my website since they are the owners of the website. Maybe you are just the brokers but there is not another outside company involved in this. I have emails to prove that you originally wanted $1,000 and now you want $500.

I think in good faith you should help me with this. You are not being customer friendly at all.

Business' Final Response /* (4000, 9, 2013/08/28) */

Hello [redacted],

Any notices regarding the failed renewal would have been sent by Google as your domain was registered through Google. eNom only supplies the technology and ability to register and maintain domain names.

As previously explained, when a domain registered through Google Apps expires, there is a 19 day grace period to recover the domain through Google. After that time, the domain can be recovered through eNom for a limited amount of time. As the domain was not recovered, the domain was considered abandoned, and per our terms and conditions, we exercise the right to auction, sell, keep, or delete the domain. As all grace periods have lapsed, the domain is now registered to another party, and it is not possible for you to recover the domain.

It may have been unclear as to what information was provided when speaking with us regarding [redacted] The domain is still registered through eNom at this time; however, the domain is under new ownership. The current registrant has elected to use our ID Protect service to mask their contact information displayed on the WHOIS (http://www.enom.com/whois/default.aspx?DomainName=[redacted]. The displayed contact information is our company and is used as a proxy contact information in place of displaying the underlying registrant. As the domain is under new ownership, you will need to contact the new registrant if you attempting to recover the domain, [redacted]

We regret we are unable to assist you in recovering this domain, but we will be more than happy to assist you with finding an alternative domain name that is available. You can reach us anytime for assistance by phone at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX.

Best regards,

Technical Support

We have researched this matter, and we have not been able to locate any eNom registered domains in your Revdex.com complaint. Review: I have been receiving unwanted SPAM that is hosted by enom.com. I have sent most of this spam back to enom.com stating that I don't want any SPAM from them. My emails to them are sent to their abuse address which is: [redacted]@enom.com. So far, they have not responded to me at all and continue to SPAM me. Review: Enom.com and its clients continue to send me spam email. Among the endless list of domain names in use are [redacted].com, [redacted].net, [redacted].net, [redacted].net, [redacted].net, [redacted].com, [redacted].net, [redacted].com, [redacted].com and on and on and on - the list is endless. Note that each spam mailing uses a different domain name, all of which resolve back to enom.com. To add insult to injury, there is no way to opt out of this trash mail - the messages mask the email address(s) to which they were sent, so if you have more than one email account (I do) there is no easy way to determine which account is being spammed. A brief search of the internet shows they are the #1 spam domain that's active. Desired Settlement: Stop sending me spam email.

Thank you for your response. You may wish to add

[redacted], [redacted]

to the list to be investigated. Every one of these domain names was sold by [redacted] I am sure there is a new crop of domain names is being created as I type this, so blocking spam from the your customers with any conventional software is difficult.

I note that most of the above names are owned by a few individuals: [redacted] of Maceo,

KY; [redacted], Parshall, ND; [redacted] Pittsburgh, PA and [redacted] New York NY. These may be bogus names.

As for your web portal to report abuse, IT DOES NOT WORK. I have tried it on multiple occasions. After wasting time putting in information, it says "An error has occurred..." There is a phone number to call to complain, but the lady at that number bluntly says 'we're not responsible for what our customers do". You may claim to take spam abuse seriously, but she didn't get the word. Stop sending me spam email.

Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 16, 2015/01/30) */

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)

The volume of spam mail coming through Enom.com has actually decreased. It is not yet to zero, but a big improvement. Thanks for your help. I appreciate the email addresses for reporting. If I get more spam mail, I will report them.

Review: Enom business model includes being a massive enabler of annoying email spam which arrives in my email box and easily hundreds of thousands and maybe millions of others each day (my guesstimate). They are a domain name registrar for the Internet. It appears Enom registers a domain for each spam mail that they send out and they are careful in the subject line to use words that are hard to make a "rule" for to block future spam. They are in the business of enabling advertisters to spam the world and are taking advantage of their domanin name registration business.

With a simple google search you can see a vast amount of complaints against eNom and frankly their A+ rating makes a mockery of Revdex.com rating credibility.Desired Settlement: I want them to take my address off the spamming list that they have. Ideally they get out of the spam business, but again getting me off thier list is major. I have good documentation that leads back to them and they are right here in Kirkland WA, shame!

Once a domain name has been registered it cannot be cancelled, or deleted. As this is an industry standard, eNom is unable to delete the specific domain name. However, if the owner of the domain name does not wish for the domain to resolve to any site, then the domain owner can alter the settings of the domain name to stop resolving by editing the DNS settings on the domain name. If the complainant registered this domain name directly with eNom, then this can be down through the Domain Manager accessible through their account with us. If additional assistance is required, our Technical Support team is available 24 hours to assist with such requests.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2014/11/17) */

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

eNom is the appropriate party as they are the 'upstream' host for [redacted] This is known from their answering system, which indicates that eNom sells [redacted] privacy, and is publicly known from those hold messages.

eNom is therefore accountable for the actions of [redacted] in refusing to fix the problems outlined, as [redacted] must fix those to maintain accreditation with [redacted] ditto for eNom.

A separate case was filed with the Revdex.com regarding [redacted] separate role in this matter.

eNom employees have also in other areas shown callous disregard for the customer, and their refusal mentioned above to properly resolve the issues at hand shows what is really going on here.

They are well-known in antispam circles for not dealing properly, although they will deal with some spammers on a token basis. The fact that their [redacted] division does not see fit to place proper addressing info (whether it be a post office box or street address) for US Postal Service mail contacting of their contact info they use for placeholder for their clients (this is not about the clients anyway but proper addressing based on their own policies and practices in providing address invo),

Business' Initial Response /* (1000, 5, 2013/07/31) */

Hello [redacted],

Thank you for contacting eNom regarding this matter. I will be happy to address the actions that have been taken to resolve this matter.

The domain, [redacted] was originally registered through one of our resellers. eNom makes it possible for individuals and organizations to buy and sell Internet domains and services. Our resellers rely on eNom to conduct or complement their business objectives.

As you were unable to receive support from the reseller the domain was registered through and managed by, eNom took the necessary steps to verify ownership of the domain and assist the registered domain holder.

On July 29, 2013, we transferred the domain into an account under your direct control; this was completed as sufficient documentation was received to verify ownership of the domain in a subsequent support ticket you had submitted on July 26, 2013 (Ticket reference number XXXXXX-XXXXXX). As the domain was in your control, you had the ability to retrieve the information necessary to complete a domain transfer. Our records indicate the domain was transferred away successfully and is now registered through [redacted] LLC. This can be verified by performing a WHOIS lookup with the .COM registry, VeriSign (http://www.verisigninc.com/whois). The updated date indicates July 29, 2013 which is likely when the domain transfer was completed.

As the domain has already been transferred away from eNom to [redacted] we assume this matter has been resolved.

If you have any questions or require assistance, please feel free to contact us. We offer support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by phone at X-XXX-XXX-XXXX or online at http://www.enom.com/help.

Best regards,

Review: Somehow, eNom.com became the domain regstrar for my two websites (I never signed up for enom.com). I have been trying to transfer this registration to [redacted] so that my websites will not go dead tonight when [redacted] goes down. I contaced eNom.com on 1/23/15 to transfer the registration and it still has not happened. Also, since they have changed the status of my registration to "pending transfer" they will not allow me to change the DNS settings to my new host site. eNom.com does not have a toll free phone number and the wait time to talk to tech support is over 30 minutes. When I finally do get to talk to tech support, they are rude, will not answer my questions, and refuse to transfer me to a supervisor or even give me the name of a supervisor. My websites will go dead tonight at midnight if eNom.com does not agree to resolve this.Desired Settlement: Release my two domain registrations to [redacted] so that I can carry on with my business.

We apologize for the negative experience with Technical Support, and will make every effort to continue improving our customer support experience.

However, in reviewing the case, the standard transfer time of a domain name can take up to 5 days to complete. As the Domain name is in the status of "Pending Transfer", it means that the transfer is in progress right now, and will be completed in the standard transfer time.

During this time, the Registry prevents any changes to the domain name during the transfer period. The only way any changes can be made is to cancel the transfer altogether. However, this may cause more transfer problems, as it will create additional delays.

This is the same line I was fed every time I called your long distance # and waited on hold for 20 minutes to talk to a "technician" who refused to give me the name of, or transfer me to, his supervisor. Every other domain registry company I talked to said that the transfer could be done with one push of a button and the 5 day wait was hooey. Not to mention, you said "up to 5 days", but in both cases it took 6 days. I had an awful experience with eNom and at this point, it is too late to make it up.

Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/02/19) */

We show that the domain transfer has been completed as per the standard domain transfer procedure, and the domain transfer request was completed within the industry standard for domain transfers, which is 5 to 7 days.

If there is any other concerns that we can address, please

Interesting that the "industry standard" is now 5-7 days even though you yourself told me "no more than 5 days" and the rest of your industry told me it could be done within seconds...

The above listed company continues to send our business spam email on a daily basis from numerous alias domains registered to their company. I have numerous examples I can forward. This is unacceptable and unethical.Desired Settlement: I want us completely removed from every domain they use. The domains should be closed down, they are only the source of spam and I'm sure other unwanted links to viruses. I will not click on any of the links.

We have received a number of spam complaints from Mr.[redacted], and we are investigating this matter further. Based on an initial review, these emails do not appear to originate from eNom, but do contain eNom registered domains. As such we are continuing to work with our reseller partners to have Mr. [redacted]'s address removed from any mailing lists. However, since the emails do not originate from eNom's network, we may not be able to prevent delivery of future emails. eNom does take abuse reports very seriously, and we have multiple points of contact for reporting abuse. A web form is available at: http://www.enom.com/help/abusepolicy.aspx and we can be contacted via email at [redacted]@enom.com or [redacted]@enom.com.

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if we can be of any further assistance with this issue.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)

how about shutting down the offending websites? I have sent literally hundreds of spam reports using their spam reporting website, and I have sent several emails to their [redacted]@enom.com address and they will not respond, I get ignored just like they ignore my spam reports, a quick glance at their facebook page verifies they are useless when it comes to fighting spam. I understand they will lose money if they shut down websites so the spam will most likely never stop

Final Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2014/08/18) */

We have researched this matter further, and cooperation with our reseller partners, the following domains have been suspended: [redacted].com and [redacted].com.
