Review: IN THE [redacted] PROMOTION THE COMPANY LISTED UNLIMITED VENTS AND YET WHEN THEY CAME TO THE HOUSE AFTER DOING SOME OF THE WORK THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT BE DOING THE DOWNSTAIRS VENTS SINCE THEY WERE CONNECTED TO THE SAME FURNACE SYSTEM AND IT WASN'T NECESSARY. WE HAVE A SEPARATE APARTMENT IN OUR DOWNSTAIRS AND THEIR IS SEPARATE DUCT WORK, WE HAD THIS DONE FOR NOISE REDUCTION. I CALLED THEIR OFFICE WHILE THEIR EMPLOYEES WERE STILL HERE AND SHE SAID NO, THEY WOULD NOT BE DOING THOSE VENTS. THIS ON TOP OF HAVING TO WATCH THEM BECAUSE IF YOU DIDN'T STAND RIGHT THERE WITH THEM THEY WOULD "PRETEND" TO CLEAN THE VENTS. AND WORTH MENTIONING WAS THE WAY THEY DRAG THE HOSE THROUGH THE HOUSE! THEY DRAGGED IT RIGHT UP MY STAIRS SCRAPPING ACROSS MY OAK RAILINGS, YOU COULD HEAR IT! AND YES, I TOOK A PICTURE! THEY NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT THE SECOND UNIT, AT ALL!!!Desired Settlement: TOTAL REFUND FOR BOTH [redacted] COUPONS. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO ADVERTISE "UNLIMITED VENTS" AND THEN LIMIT THE VENTS!

[redacted] ,

Review: I have purchased air duct cleaning services through [redacted]. Your company, air ductor's tech came out and tried to just vacuum the outside vents without removing the vent unless we paid extra. He proceed to tell me it will cost additional 40-80for him to open up the vent and clean the inside of the air duct. He seemed to take advantage of my lack of english as I ended up paying him $60 to open up the vent and clean inside. After he left, I reconfirmed what I purchased with my daughter who read the [redacted] coupon to me that says the service to be provided is air duct cleaning, not vacuum just outside. The vacuum they had did not even suck the dust off the floor, surely it didn't suck any from the duct. The tech did not even show me thru the camera after the job was done, nor did he show what he removed. Job done poorly.Desired Settlement: The outcome should be what I paid for. That includes cleaning ducts and dryer vents. None of these service was provided professionally nor correctly. There was no indication that the ducts were cleaned. I saw no camera to show what was done and no proof of the dust retrieved. I don't trust them to repeat the service, so I would like my money back so that I can call real people to do this. Your webside guantees 100% satisfaction and I got none.

Review: The company sent out an individual to provide our bi-annual dryer duct cleaning as mandated by our home owners association. The man who came out spent about 10 minutes behind the dryer with a vacuum and short brush and never accessed the duct from the outside at all. Assuming he knew what he was doing, I paid the invoice as agreed. The very next day my dryer light came on indicating to "check the duct". I contact the manager [redacted], who sent out a crew the next day. The man who came out said he could not find the dryer vent outside the home and therefore could not help me. I showed him exactly where it was however he said " no....I dont think thats it" and left. It is worth noting, I looked at his truck and realized half way through the conversation that the "tech." only carried with him a five foot step ladder that could never reach the duct in question. I had to pay for [redacted] (great guys) to come out and unclog what Envirocares tech had stuffed into a wad about 5 feet into the line. The amount of dryer lint that came out of the line was amazing, and a clear indicator that Envirocare was simply going through the motions. Repeated attempts to recontact the manager are now completely ignored after sending an email (with pictures) asking what the problem is.Desired Settlement: an immediate refund and apology for the massive inconvenience. We were simply doing some preventative maintenance where there was no problem and as a result, my wife and I had to send out laundry for 2 weeks, pay for a competent service to provide what we had already paid for, and replace additional ductwork damaged in the process.

Review: The company advertises whole house air duct cleaning, for unlimited vents and unlimited returns for $44.00. When the crew arrived at my house, they told me I had mold in the ducts, which would require extensive treatment, but the crew leader said they would give me a senior discount, so the cost would "only" be $868.14. After a while, I reluctantly agreed to the full treatment. In fact, all they did, beyond the duct and vent cleaning required for the $44.00 coupon, was a spray some sort of chemical into the vents, which took no more than 20 - 30 minutes. Plus they cleaned (soaked) a carpet, which was part of the coupon offer. They said they would come back and re-treat the system in 6-8 months, and that it was guaranteed for three years -- whatever that means. I have since learned that this company has a reputation for "bait-and-switch," of offering a low price, then scaring the homeowner with stories about mold, and pressuring the homeowner to pay for an expensive treatment. I called the company the next day to complain about the price; the manager was supposed to call me back, but never did.Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay a fair amount for the actual work which was done, but I think that $868 is quite excessive. Since I paid one-half the amount ($434) by credit card at the time of service, on July 8, and they made a second credit card imprint for August 8, I would like to, at a minimum, cancel the second payment. I only regret that I did not look up the company ahead of time, so that I would have known to expect the high-pressure, bait-and-switch operation, and I would have refused to accept it. The crew manager "[redacted]," was a nice enough guy, but he was obviously doing what he has been well-trained to do.

Review: Purchased a [redacted] coupon to have my vents cleaned. When I refused to purchased up sell to complete the entire house the contractor told my tenant there was mold everywhere and to move out ASAP. I was not given any proof of the mold and [redacted] will not return my calls with proof of this claim. I have since tested the house with a mold kit and there was nothing evident.Desired Settlement: I expect my $49 back and a complaint filed with the Company so other folks are aware.

Review: I bought a deal from [redacted] to have my air ducts cleaned. The deal was purchased from [redacted] (I did not know I was dealing with Envirocair until I was given the bill).

Upon arriving I was told that the deal only includes the vents not the "main lines" to clean the main line was $199 (the original deal was $49). So I tell them to go ahead and clean the main line. Then he gives me the bill for $421 as there was 2 main lines which he either failed to mention or I didn't hear over all of the noise.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund. The company used a false name to sell the "deal" online and once in my house charged me $421 for what was implied to be included in the deal.

Review: I paid for a coupon for an advertised offer by this company to clean all the ducts in an apartment unit for $49. I paid for two units. Shortly after the service team began working, the leader, [redacted], claimed that he had discovered the presence of "black mold" which was extremely hazardous in the main furnace unit (even though cleaning the unit was not included in the coupon I purchased). He claimed that this type of mold which, if not removed, would spread though the system and was known to be harmful to the residents. He did not send this mold for a lab to test to verify its type. He quoted prices to clean the main blower unit and to sanitize the system. He claimed he had also found the same condition in the other unit. The total quote for each unit was $1096 (total = $2192). After reminding me that this "black mold" was extremely hazardous, he called the company and found that he could offer me a free UV unit if I agreed to the work. I agreed and he began. When finished he told me that he could not provide AC power to the UV unit since there was no outlet available even though the unit was now fully installed (which required cutting a large hole in the ductwork). He presented the bill, which I paid before he left ($2094). Later I realized I could not understand how the total charges were itemized so I contacted the company. They were not able to understand the bill either, but subsequently refunded me $203. After doing more research on these topics, I realize that: 1) Mold needs to be tested in a lab to determine if it is a hazardous "black mold" type; 2) this company has F ratings from [redacted] and Revdex.com with other customers having the same experiences; and 3) that customary charges for cleaning and mold removal are in the range of 50% of what was charged to me. I wrote to the company asking for a refund based on claiming they over-represented the health nature without legitimate testing and that I was overcharged for their services. Their response indicated no responsibility for these issues. Please note that the March 2013 issue of [redacted] has a 2-page article on similar complaints about this company.Desired Settlement: I realize that, in agreeing to have the work done even though I was suspicious of what I was being told, I need to accept some responsibility. In consideration of the time they spent and any cleaning that was actually done, I would like this company to: 1) refund approximately half of amount I have paid them, and 2) remove the UV unit and restore the ductwork that remains.

Review: I purchased a [redacted] Voucher for $49.00 which included cleaning of Air Vents also Cleaning the Clothes Dryer Vent from one side. Twice I called Envirocare to get clarification on what Cleaning from one side meant and what the cost would be to extend the cleaning to the Outside vent as it had a "bird cage" covering it and lint had gotten stuck inside this protector. Both times I was told it would cost an additional $39.00, which was reasonable to me.As the techs arrived, one immediately started on the ceiling vents and the other climbed directly on my Stack Washing machine and separated the vent from the Dryer and loudly announced that it was clogged and it would cost me $289.00 to clean it as he had to spray it first and then Vacuum it. He had a large commercial vacuum that should have easily cleaned it. I had already told him I wanted the Dryer vent cleaned to the outside for additional $39.00 that I had been informed by Envirocare was the price. When I questioned Why it was more than $39 he said they should have told me $39 UP. Well they Did Not. Since the Condo required it and he had my vent apart, I said to do it, the called ###-###-#### to talk to the Supervisor. The receptionist who had originally told me it was $39 allegedly spoke to her Superior and told me that $289 was the charge if it is clogged. I believe that His Vacuum could have easily cleared it if he tried. Later I asked what he sprayed and he said a "Disinfectant". Did that cost $289?I had my daughter check "[redacted]'s [redacted]" and Envirocare only scored D s and F . They also felt that they were robbed and it was a Scam. I call it "Bait and Switch" . They never cleaned inside the clothes dryer vent from where the lint filter is or the lint filter. They neglected to replace the screws to hold the front panel of the dryer, so had to call them back and now my washing machine cover won't stay open.Desired Settlement: I feel he was dishonest and want my $289.00 plus tax equal $303.00 returned. He also tried to add on the $39.00 to the bill that I refused to pay because that was more cheating. It is interesting that he wouldn't let me make out the check to ENVIROCARE....He asked me to make it out to [redacted].Supposedly ENVIROCARE DOES THEIR OWN WORK. NO Sub Contractors. Than Who is [redacted]?I am willing for Envirocare to deduct the Correct amount of $39.00 for cleaning through to the outside.Thks

Review: Dear Revdex.com, Got a [redacted] coupon for Airduct Cleaning(unlimited Return+Vents; I have 3 vents and 2 returns)+ Carpet Cleaning(up to 3 rooms; I have two rooms)+Dryer Cleaning+ AC CHECK(N/A for my case) from ENVIROCAIR for $54. After contacting them for a free estimate, two guys, [redacted] and another unknown person stopped by. Within a minute, they said I had mold on my 14th floor condo! Yeah right, I directly assist DOE and EPA. I asked them if they could honor the coupon-- HE SAID "SURE, NO PROBLEM". We were in Rush so we could not do it on Monday. Re-scheduled it for Wednesday. Team comes an hour late. Starts spreading their hose and pipes. Now, the [redacted] and the other guys start opening the vents-- and again, I asked if they were ok honoring the price. He said Yeah Yeah. Within 5 minutes, they were like we gotta put chemical called envirocon imported from Switzerland on your vent. My wife and I were, how much would it cost?-- In answer he replies " 300, BUT i'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU". I said you dont need to-- we dont want that service. He seemed very unhappy and ordered the other guy something in a foreign language. So, here I am sitting on my laptop waiting for them to finish up. He comes back within 15 minutes and reminded me that work was done. 15 minutes?!? Next he asked me they can not do the regular cleaning on my carpet and it needed to be deep-cleaned. It would cost them $49/ room and he should charge me for 3 room. I tried to negotiate with him and he ended up giving me a "Free Room". That's fine. He brings a swiffer looking vacuum and starts doing it. At this point I was helpless by this pushy, rude and scam artist named [redacted]. After he is done with that in 30 minutes(?!?), he goes up to my dryer vent and shoes me that it is broken(it was inspected fine couple of months ago by the condo association), he tapes it and advises me to buy another one from the [redacted].

After they left today around 11:45, [redacted] from Poland and the other guy ended up 1. breaking portion of my drywall while putting the return back(picture available). 2. Breaking my Dryer Vent(picture available) and taping it 3. left all debris as it was(picture available)

Advertisement also says a free deodorizer and a free bathroom fan, when asked, he tapped me in my shoulder and said, he has never heard of that in his 16 years of career.

Now the payment part-- he asks me if I could meet him in the lobby and I said Why? Why dont you want to do it in the house? Again very unhappy-- he goes back and come back again with a contract that has no address or anything there. Calculatess the price on his iPhone and asks for $379!!! In reply I said how come? Apparently he added the "envirocon imported from Switzerland" even after reminding him not to do. I said I did not agree to that and he was not only rude but threatening to me-- THREATENING IN MY OWN HOUSE??? He puts me on phone with a lady who he called [redacted](on the phone it said [redacted] or SOMETHING LIKE THAT). She was more eager to take my credit card # and at this point I knew I was being scammed from the very begining. I refused to give her my card # and said If I could settle my bill via Check from a [redacted] acct. She said she had to talk to the owner. And [redacted] was," I did my fair share and you have to pay now". Again, extremely helpless-- I had no other options but to pay this "Jekyll and Hide character", who would not take a check, when I gave him $400, asked for $21 change back. He says he does not have it and grudged that he does not get tipped. At this point, it seemed to me like a highway robbery where I was the victim and he leaves me with the copy of the form after sipping on my Prune Juice.

INJUSTICE, SCAM, CHEAT, NAME ME ANYTHING!-- THESE ARE THE GUYS. ENVIROCAIR AIR DUCT AND CARPET CLEANERS.Desired Settlement: Refund on the unwanted "envirocon imported from Switzerland" $237 in cash within a week.(by 8/2802013)

Keep the $44 Air Duct charge and the "Deep Carpet Clean" for your effort.

And like other consumers that I found on Revdex.com or Yelp if the owner or manager or any person involving with this company tries to call, harass or bully me over the phone, in-person mail, email or any other method, I will have no options but to take them on a harassment lawsuit.

Review: Dear Revdex.com Officer,

I am very disappointed with my recent experience with Envirocair air duct company which also does mold remediation and water restoration. I would like to share the issue with you and kindly seek your help in collecting a refund of $2,500 for the service not delivered, and an apology from the owner.

On September 21 2012, I was seeking an estimate for water damage in my house. An Envirocair technician came in after 4 pm September 21, and immediately declared I have an emergency – a huge mold problem which “needs to be fixed ASAP”. He referred to his extensive experience in Mold Remediation and pushed me to authorize a costly water restoration and mold remediation job which he said should be performed during 2 days.

The [redacted] ad from Envirocair and Envirocair web site stated they are certified mold remediation experts with 20 years of experience. The technician also said the company has a construction license and I was pushed to authorize the start of the job.

The technician made me sign an estimate before any job was done and pointed out to 2 places to sign. I was not left a copy of this estimate. Subsequently this paper was illegitimately used by a company as an invoice to charge my credit card. The technician collected my credit card information as a warranty that they come back on Sept 24, to do major part of the job. I was told that the detailed contract and remediation scope of work will be emailed to me before September 24, when the crew was supposed to come second time. The scope of work was never emailed.

On September 21, 2012 the crew was in the house only 35-40 minutes (it was around an hour since the technician first stepped into my basement to give me an estimate). The crew did not deliver the job referred in the estimate and made a lot of damage. They destroyed part of my fully dry drywall and left part of wet drywall in. They did not follow any safety industry standards, cross-contaminated my house and made me sick for a few months. None of the items listed in the estimate-invoice were delivered.

Initially the crew was supposed to come back on Monday, September 24, 2012 to do a major part of the job. As a result of Envirocair actions in my house extensive amount of dust and mold spores were blown by the fan upstairs where I sleep and I got seriously sick on Saturday, September 22, 2012. I had to stop any further Envirocair manipulations in my house because I felt it represented a serious health hazard. I spoke with the technician on Monday, September 24, conveyed that I am completely unhappy with what was done, asked not to charge my credit card, and asked the manager come to my house and examine the damages after I feel better. Nobody showed up at the time I assigned. Then I filed a formal complaint.

Envirocair charged my credit card for the full amount of $2500. The company failed to address my complaint and conduct any reasonable investigation. They consistently gave false statements and denied to refund illegally billed charges. Alternative expert investigations showed that the company did not meet the basic standards for water damage or mold remediation.

I would appreciate if you could help me resolve the dispute and get the refund.

I have a lot of pictures and supplementary information showing that none of the work listed in the estimate-invoice was done. Please advice what other information may be needed for this investigation.

My additional expenses, such as getting other contractor to fix the damage, health and related expenses are approximately $2500.

Best Regards,

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund of illegally charged 2500$ and apology

Review: Purchased 2 [redacted] Deals for Air Duct Cleaning. They inform customers of mold in vents and it would cost over $1,200 to remediate since they need to use special chemicals instead of the $59 purchased coupon. I took a picture of the vent and was informed by a mold remediation expert that it was not mold but dust build up. Sadly, this was after I paid them. They used the same mold scare tatic on my elderly mom. Several people have posted the same experience about this company on the Internet.

They also charged me tax on labor and did not enter it on the tax line but just added it to the price. I am reporting tax fraud to the State of Maryland.

Tax Fraud, Bait & Switch, Unethical Business Practices

Review: This company advertised their service $59, then once they're in your house they tell you they want to go over the whole situation with you, room by room, level by level. Their advertisement already stated all vents and returns included, but that was not the problem. Once we went downstairs to the furnace they proceeded to tell me that the cleaning of the vents and returns would be of no use, so to speak, without cutting hole in the two returns by the furnace, and that would cost $400. Their workmanship was poor, they tried to skip roo**, which they did and even skipped a main return in the upstairs (3rd floor) hallway. The "lead" man who did all the talking was very unprofessional as he took the time to read a personal email that came with pictures within 5 minutes of conversation with him. When I asked him what was going on, he said "oh, I just received an email with pictures of my family - do you want to see?" I told him no. Hello????

I could not be more disappointed, not to mention enraged with the job they did or did not do, their unprofessionalism, but mostly THEY RIPPED ME OFF. When I called to complain to their office at ###-###-####, I was told a manager was not available to take such calls and that I should put my complaint in writing within 3 days of the service. I called about a week after - we had a snow storm on that Monday. Anyway, this company has several alias. Three are:(1) [redacted] (2) [redacted], and (3) Envirocare LLC - [redacted] in [redacted], MD. My payment went to Envirocare LLC, while a big yellow receipt has a phone number of ###-###-####, which was presented to me at time of payment.Desired Settlement: These people do not deserve to be in bus. They were trying to rush, rush, rush the whole time and were only concerned about leaving so they could get to next to their next customer (or victim). I want a full refund as everything they were supposed to do, did not happen to my satisfaction, as well as skipping areas as I mentioned before. The three free roo** of carpet cleaning was a joke and they did not use any sanitation or any chemical, I believe, other than water. They said they were going to sanitize the carpet. ha-ha.

Response:

Dear **. [redacted], Envirocair would like to apologize for any inconvenience we have caused. Our coupons advertised in the clipper magazine include a cleaning of all the vents and returns for $59 . The advertisement also includes 3 rooms of steam cleaning carpet and a basic one sided dryer vent cleaning. On the day of the service, the items that you paid additional to have were not return vents , they were your main lines. Our policy requires that the customer agrees to notify us of all complaints in writing within 3 days of completion of the service, and allow us to inspect and/or correct any deficiencies in the service. This is stated on the invoice that you signed and dated on the day of the service (see attached). Our company does not use several aliases . [redacted] is one of the local subcontractors that we work with. Your settlement for a full refund cannot be accepted because you submitted a claim several days past our policy and you did not allow our technician to inspect deficiencies (if any) in the service. As displayed on your invoice, you weren’t charged for any additional return ducts. The carpet cleaning service advertised is for a steam cleaning. The advertisement does not state that we will sanitizing the carpets. Sincerely, [redacted]Envirocair

Review: On Feb. 18,2014, I inquired about an ad in order to obtain an estimate for air duct and carpet cleaning. Noting the coupons, I was clearly informed that I could use the additional carpet cleaning coupon along with the air duct/carpet cleaning coupon (both of which were printed on the page with no stipulations) in order to take care of all rooms in the house. Being satisfied with the information, I proceeded to schedule an appointment for service on Feb. 25, 2014. However, when the service provider came, he immediately said that they did not honor more than one coupon per job. After I explained what I had been told, he still refused to honor what was told to me originally. I immediately called and talked with the same person I had first spoken to, who stood by the information given to me and proceeded to put me on hold. After a few minutes, someone else came on the line. She did not identify herself. Speaking quickly, she conveyed that what was told to me over the phone was not going to be honored. I expressed my utter dissatisfaction, but as I spoke, I was continually talked over, interrupted, and abruptly put off with a closing comment of dismissal. I felt this was a completely unprofessional handling from a "manager" as she later identified herself. I have never had such a disagreeable experience with someone in the customer service business. The service operators did end up doing the job for the expected price.Desired Settlement: Apparently the calls are recorded. I would hope that the calls and interactions would be reviewed; specifically the final call on Feb. 25, 2014 at 3:15 pm and necessary actions taken in correcting the behavior of the "manager" in this case.
