I have ordered a total of eight dresses from eshakti over the last six months. I have found them to be well made and predictably sized. I have found that ordering up a size is a good idea.

They offer a novel approach to dressmaking that gives customers choices we ordinarily do not have. I love being able to order dresses with pockets and sleeves.

I am happy to provide a positive review for a really creative company. Any mistakes seem to be handled politely and promptly. Once, a refund was issued for a dress that was on it's way. A quality defect was found with a certain fabric and was immediately corrected. The fabric was stiff but I don't know if I would have sent it back. I was impressed.

Review: This company failed to send me an item that I paid for, and have not responded to my numerous emails and posts on their public [redacted] page requesting attention to my issue. Review: I had ordered a dress from eShakti in April - and there was no confirmation as to when my dress had shipped, until one day there was a notice on my home door, saying that they had tried delivering it, but nobody was home. I contacted DHL (the shipping service) to have the dress sent to my workplace, as I would not be home during the delivery period. The product was then delivered to the DHL office, and returned after I did not pick it up, which I was not informed of. The dress was then sent back to eShakti, and signed for, without my knowledge. I contacted the company multiple times in regards to either receiving a refund, or the dress sent to me again, and have not heard any response from them. Both the dress and the shipping have been paid for in full. Desired Settlement: As stated above, I would like either a refund for the dress and shipping, or the dress re-sent to me, as it has been paid for.

Review: I order a mixed crepe and floral chiffon dress from the company ([redacted]/ order no# [redacted]) from this company on 03/18/15, in which, I paid 32.61 total including shipping. After receiving the item on 04/06/15, I noticed that the dress was defective, and had a small hole in the sleeve of the dress. I contacted a customer service representative and reported the defect, and the company agreed to issue me a FULL refund, and also send me a return label to mail the item back. Once the item was shipped back, they sent me and email confirming that they had received the item and would be issuing me a refund in the amount of 20.66. I sent and email to [redacted]@eshakti.com on 04/23/15 and advised that per my previous conversation, that was told that I would be receiving a FULL refund of 32.61 which includes my shipping cost. On 04/24/2015, I received in my bank account a refund in the amount of $20.66, which was less the 11.95 that I was charged for shipping. As I explained to them in the email and phone conversation, by no means should I be penalized for receiving a defective item in the mail from their company. And I hope that we can come to a resolution on this issue.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the shipping cost which ws 11.95. It is not fair that I be penalized for something that was out of my control.

I explained my dissatisfaction with the 3 dresses and explained my reasons. I also returned the dresses the same day I received them, I even explained my reasons for the returns and specified that I wanted my full refund on my credit card, and NO gift card! I received emails stating they had received my returns and were processing it, then for one return they issued me a gift card (even though I specified NO gift card) and now for the other return they claimed I would get my refund in 2 business days, however I have not received it & they are not refunding me the complete amount!!

Review: I ordered two blouses according to their size chart. They made the two blouse in bigger sizes and mislabeled the garment inside tag.

I called and gave them the measurements of the blouse. I was told I would be contacted by a verification bureau, who would then send me a [redacted] return label. I never heard back. I called again. The lady on the phone gave me two e-mail addresses and apologized, she said I had done everything right and there was nothing more she could do. So I wrote to both e-mail addresses and got back an e-mail on my third attempt from a [redacted]. She said that the blouses were supposed to be flowing. But that I could return just not for shipping charges both ways. I wrote back saying I used your size chart. Since you are a company that advertises tailoring I should be able to expect that the size I order is the bust size you advertise.

She did not give me return information. I told her I had gotten conflicting return information. Should I send to India address as lady on the phone suggested? She ignored my e-mails. A [redacted] on [redacted] Shakti Complaints who wrote to me, has also not answered my e-mails. Desired Settlement: Full refund of all my costs. Shipping both ways & garments.

She had ordered two garments - each of a different size (XL-16 & XL-18) and we have sent her exactly the same as per our size chart details. Both the styles she ordered have a lot of gathers and ease in the back area and hence the blouses would fit loosely on the body

While eShakti, gave me a refund, finally today, after hours of wrangling, and weeks waiting. They are still being dishonest. A measuring chart, is used to order the size you want. I ordered two garments after measuring the bust size I wanted. The fact that I ordered two different sizes is not an issue. That is my business. And shows that they have no points to make.

The issue is they made both wrong and not according to their own size chart, and the inches provided on their website. I have taken pictures of both garments. I will post them on the [redacted] Complaints page. Had they been honest and apologized for their mistake, they would have had a loyal customer. Now they have an ex with a good memory and a bad taste in her mouth.

This automatic denial of their wrong doing, that even their own customer service phone people could not fathom, is just ugly business. Good customer service, is impossible without honesty. If you make a mistake you need to take responsibility. See customers as long term relationships instead of sweating pennies.

As a seller myself I have found that most people are honest. To assume that everyone is a crook and treat them like one, is plain stupid. It doesn't save money. It wastes time and valuable customers. I would like to close this case. These people are really nutty. They would rather waste time mopping up then making something right.

Can you imagine that they insist on this insane logic. That if you were going to a tailor and saying I want a 44" bust size for my blouse and he makes a 48? And then blames you for the cut of the blouse, that that would make sense to anyone? That information should have been on their web page, were it true. For example "this garment runs large, order a size smaller than you would usually." And then they provide a link? A link to where. If that information has been added in, I would love to provide a picture of the page I ordered from, to prove their dishonesty.

The next lie, PS, that they offered me anything in exchange? Not true. I had to go to paypal and start a case, because they were non-responsive. They did not respond to Paypal either for over a week until I turned it into a case. So I had to register a further solution where Paypal gets involved to get a response, let alone offers or exchanges..? Produce the e-mail!

This business is a looser. I buy everything on-line. They have a great idea here. But they lack the most important qualities, follow through, excellence, and honesty. I will remember how ridiculously I have been treated.

I have not received the UPS return labels they allude to above. I don't want these garments. They are garbage. Please send labels I will return immediately. But I will not spend more money and time on your mistake. Especially with the dishonesty and lack of good-will.

Review: I have loved ordering from this company in the past, and I enjoy their products. However, after my recent experience I am very disappointed in the return policy. The product I ordered was made incorrectly. I have ordered the same size in the past and had no issues with fit, but it was obvious that this most recent order, although labeled as the correct size, was incredibly small (probably about 2 sizes smaller). I was under the impression from what I read on the return form that was included with the product, that the return postage would be reimbursed ($6.50 plus any extra postage paid). I have contacted the company through email and over the phone and was given only reimbursement for my purchase and the extra postage (anything over $6.50) that I paid. I now have lost $18.45 of my own money on total shipping costs on a product that was defective, returned, and unavailable to buy again. I have received credit for my purchase from the company, but I think it is only fair to at least refund the return shipping costs, if not all of the shipping costs, especially because the return was not due to customer preference or error.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive a refund of my shipping costs for the defective item.

Review: I ordered 4 dresses from eshakti. When I ordered I paid approx. $24 for shipping. When they arrived I chose to return three and keep one. As per their return policy I paid for the shipping of those dresses back to Washington state. Shortly after I made the return I received a bill for $30 from DHL, customs fees. I had absolutely no idea I was going to be charged customs fees. The bill is in my name and therefore if I don't pay it it will go to collections.

The issue is further compounded because when I chose my method of refund, I selected a gift card, rather than a return to my credit card. By selecting a gift card the company provides you a 20% bonus over the return price. This means that if I do indeed use the gift card I will have to pay another $30 in customs fees!

Again their website does not indicate there will be customs fees billed to me. I already paid shipping for the items. Desired Settlement: I want my refund returned to my credit card. I do not want to continue doing business with this company.

I want the company to pay for the customs fees as I was not told I was going to be charged with them and already paid initial shipping of $24 for my purchase. This is a scam practice.

Review: I ordered a dress with custom measurements. The dress I received was not cut to the correct measurements. Specifically, the shoulder width should have been 18 inches, but was more like 16.5 inches. I returned the dress (and had to pay return shipping, which is ridiculous since it was their mistake) and now the company is not refunding me the money I paid or offering to send a replacement dress. My daughter's order was cancelled without warning. I placed my first order, then told her about it. When I.measured her, we were laughing because she is the same size as me. Because of this and the fact that she still lives at home they cancelled to stop her from using a coupon. The coupon didn't specify one per household member or say if you are the same size as other family members, they'll cancel it. She is very upset, as am I. This was her birthday gift, since her birthday was 2/26. My older daughter is my mini-me, too, so far. Will they cancel her order also? Totally uncalled for.

Review: I placed two orders on the same day. The second because of the $25 gc. When I received my items none of them fit except 1. When trying to go on their site to return them it wouldn't open the other order. I emailed about the issue and received no help. I was running out of time to return so I sent everything in the same box but I only received a gift card for what looks like one item. I am not sure what it is for. Nothing I purchased was the amount they gave. My items totaled $297.43, the item I kept was 59.95., the gc is for $51.97. Also, disappointed the I then received a bill from DHL for customs. I was unaware that my items would have to go through customs. Desired Settlement: I would like my money back for the items that I returned. I DO NOT want a gift card, I don't want another customs bill for stuff that likely won't fit anyway.

Review: I have previously ordered from eShakti and have fallen Iin love with their beautiful dressesBut like many other companies, I ordered a dress online and it turned out to be something not entirely to my likingSo I did the natural thing and decided to return it
However, that is where the problems began
I shipped my returns back to company headquarters in Washington, via [redacted] day priority mailIn eShaktis return policy, they clearly state that they let the customer know through email confirmation when the package had arrivedi knew my package had arrived only because the post office had let me knowBut even after I emailed the company inquiring about the so called confirmation, I was never made aware that my items had reached their destination

I simply wanted to take the time to share my positive experiences with eShakti. I discovered eShakti through a friend who recommended it to me and I ordered a dress to try. I was so impressed by what I received (and the customer service ) that I decided to order another one. Same great service so I ordered 2 more. Im still waiting for them but I cant wait! Thank you eShakti for making affordable custom vintage clothes that fit my curves perfectly!

Review: First, I returned an item (Vintage Style Wrap blouse in navy blue) from my order # XXXXXX and only received $23.77. My receipt shows that I received no discount or special on this item and paid the full price, which was $44.95. I received discounts on three of the five items I ordered, which appear cumulatively on my receipt as the "Special Offer" discount of $49.43, and it is detailed in the breakdown by item how much I received off each of these three items, as the receipt lists their regular full price and then the price that I paid. However, I received no discount for the item that I returned, paying full price plus tax. Thus, I expected to be reimbursed for the full price of this item plus tax. Additionally, I did not receive reimbursement for shipping charges, neither the $6.50 that would go on my credit card, or the shipping charges over that amount, which were listed on the returned package. The eShakti website clearly states on the "Returns" page that the customer will receive reimbursement for these charges in the form of a gift card. I contains no instructions or indications that the customer must take action to get reimbursement for these charges. Given that shipping charges appear on the parcel along with the order number, the customer could reasonably assume that eShakti knows the amount the customer paid for shipping since it is listed on the front of the return package, along with the order #. If I had known I would receive only ~50% refund on items I returned and no shipping reimbursement at all, then I would never have ordered from eShakti in the first place. One can never be sure how items will fit when purchased online. I have repeatedly contacted eShakti and have received no reply. The customer service rep named [redacted] stated that she has tried to get them to contact me directly, but they do not. She also stated that they refuse to refund me the full amount I am due.Desired Settlement: I am seeking a total reimbursement of $51.45 plus taxes, as well as a reimbursement of the additional amount spent on shipping, which is supposed to be in the form of a giftcard.

Review: I have called and spoken with [redacted] customer service representatives on multiple occasions for two purposes, and have received no follow ups.

The first was to obtain a paid return mailing label for an item that does not fit. I have been able to do this from [redacted] in the past without issue. This garment was one of two in the same order that were cut with the same pattern. One of them fits perfectly and is consistent with the fit of many other items I have previously ordered from [redacted]. The item I would like to return does not fit, despite being cut with the same pattern, and therefore is a manufacturing defect. Therefore, I should not have to pay out of pocket to return this item when it was not a customer error or preference that is causing me to return it. I would like to keep the dress very much; it is lovely and the print is wonderful, but it simply doesn't fit, and it should. It should not take multiple phone calls with being promised to be called back for someone to just email me a simple paid return label, when I know that this company has been able to successfully do this very simple thing in the past.

The second was to obtain information and a refund for customs fees, which were levied against my order without my knowledge, and when I have not been previously charged for this on multiple orders of equal cost. I do understand that such fees are common for orders shipped from abroad above a certain price range, but there should be notification of them so that there is no surprise extra charge on top of the cost of the order. This is also particularly frustrating as the order was brought to the amount that merits customs by an item that was not manufactured correctly and therefore has to be returned, therefore costing me another $40 for absolutely nothing.

The order # is XXXXXX and the item I would like to return is the elephant print belted shirtdress.

Review: The dress I received was wrong. I ordered the dress customized with no pockets. I received a dress with pockets. I called your customer service to notify them of this the day I revived the dress and the lady I spoke to said it would "take some time to investigate" and she would get back to me. Two weeks later and I never heard a thing. I called again and spoke to a very rude woman who told me there was nothing she could do and that I should return the dress at my expense. I have paid close to $20 in shipping fees for a item that was incorrect and it was no fault of mine. I would like a refund for the initial $50.41 that I paid, plus the return shipping of $8.50 that I had to pay again to return this stupid dress. I cannot believe that esakti can operate their business with such horrid customer service. This is borderline criminal activity. They have had my money since February 16, 2015. I am livid! Review: Ordered 3 women's garments on January 26, 2015. Entire purchase amount deducted from my credit card on date of order / January 26. Blouse arrived with large stain on front.
