Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Mar 23, 2020

We are sorry to hear about you experience. We will look into this matter. Thank you

I viewed the mechanics hoisting my car using hoist points that could potentially cause damage to my car, and asked them to please relocate the hoist points. They asked me to leave the work area, so I went inside and explained to the manager, Shoko G, what I had observed. Mr. called me into the work area and told me that his mechanics knew what they were doing. When I showed Mr. that the mechanics were hoisting my car with the lift points on the floorboards he stated that I told his mechanics to do this; this is absolutely false. I could see that the floor boards were bending under the weight of my car, and I informed the Mr. that if they damaged my car then they would pay to have it repaired. Mr. G responded by stating that they were not going to pay for any damage because they were refusing to work on my car. I asked the Mr. if they could just use the proper hoist points, which I would identify, and finish installing the four new tires that I had purchased, then everything would be fine, but he refused. I asked Mr. a second time to just complete the job, but he again refused, and turned and walked away from me. When I followed Mr. G to the office to process my refund he told me to take my car to another Evans Tire location to have the job finished. Mr. was rude, and extremely unreasonable; I have never seen a customer treated with such disrespect, anywhere. Additionally, the floorboard on my car was in fact damaged - it is bent upward, and into the driver's compartment.

It is my understanding that you made an appointment to meet with the Manager Carlos at 3pm tomorrow so that he can inspect your vehicle and to help resolve this issue. If this is not correct please let me know. Carlos said he was expecting you tomorrow.

This tire shop is so scam! They advertise online that you can buy 2 tires and you get free 2 new tires with it but it's not true. The staff was so rude when I asked about his quote and charges worth $780 for 2 tires that comes with a free 2 tires! He started yeiling at me and he asked me how much I can afford and I replied that's not the point. They have to show the price of what tire I need then if I buy 2 they will give the other 2 for free just as what they advertise online.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Feb 03, 2020

The buy 2 get 2 is on tires only up to a 225.00 discount. The buy 2 get 2 is not on the install price of the tires. This disclaimer is very clear on our website. Evans Tire has had this buy 2 get 2 for 8 years. You are welcome to call our customer service number or our call center to get more information.

Went to this location to get my tires rotated 3 times in one week. The first time they said that it couldn't be done understandable they close in 11/2 hours come in early the associate says on Sat morning ok no problem. Second attempt come back early was told can't be done there's only one tire person doing tires ridiculous on a weekend. Third attempt they only been open 10 mins no cars in the bay and no customers waiting I am told again can I drop it off for the day the what really no customers and I need to drop it off for the day. Didn't appreciate the associate telling me to call corporate and ask them to hire more people because they only have one guy I told him this is my third time coming here and I keep getting the same answer I will never buy tires at Evans again you pay for a tire package which they claim buy two get two free is b.s. they make you pay for a tire package and you will never get to use it because they claim they don't ever have enough staff. I have recommended a lot of my friends and family to Evan's but not anymore especially if you can never get service. I can't go during the week because I work mon-Fri and finally I can come in early on a Fri and still no luck 0 Stars is how I'm feeling right now.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this caused you the store has been shorthanded people and we have been running ads to try to find someone. Your warranty on your tires are good at any Evans Tire location again sorry for the inconvenience

I brought my car to this shop to get two new tires and an alignment done. When I picked up my car it had a dent/chip on the fender that went straight to the metal of the car that I know was not there before. I immediately told the service guy who asked me to bring the car back when the manager Jose N was here. I did and Jose immediately called me a liar and started explaining how that couldn't have happen here and that he was 100% sure of it, even though he never saw my car before. This is a terrible way of doing business, the little I saved by coming here versus another shop has now been depleted by what I will have to pay to get my car fixed. Bottom line, if you do come here take pictures of your car before you drop it off. I myself will never do business with any other Evans Tire place again. Terrible customer service to say the least.

I had came into the tire shop expecting an oil change, a new tire and an alignment. Instead, they charge me for spark plugs. When I requested to have my old parts back, they wouldn’t let me have them. Before I had gotten a chance to leave the shop, I seen that my car had a new notification popping up and it said,” Check Engine.” As I kept going back to the shop to negotiate about the purchase of the service, I noticed that a mechanic tried to sabotage my vehicle. When I spoke upon my honest thoughts, I was surprised by how much disrespect I received in return. I did not get to resolve the issue with the manager because, he tried his best to avoid speaking to me directly.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Dec 03, 2019

This customer brought the car in and signed a work order to have spark plugs and tires replaced not an oil change. I have a copy of the original work order available if needed. We then called Snap financing for the customer because he needed Credit to have the spark plugs put in. The customer applied and got Credit and we completed the job. The customer then said he wanted to an oil change so the store did the change for free. The check engine light has a code with a Catalytic converter issue. The customer has just bought the car a few dats prior. We can send the car to a third party for inspection. If Evans Tire work was not done correctly we will refund the money. *** repair is triple A rated. Evans will pay the diagnostics charge to determine this.

Customer Response • Dec 04, 2019

That does not change the fact that they did not show me what I was getting charged on time, and denied my request to see my old parts. I want a refund.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Dec 04, 2019

The replacement of the spark plugs were in the work order you signed. You Had Matt help you get credit to pay for them. You requested them. I must be missing something sorry. Is there a problem with your spark plugs. Also the work order you sign stated customer declined old parts. As good will I will refund you 100.00 with a full release of claims

What a scam company. Did alignment on my car incorrectly twice. I asked for a refund and they won't do it. Need to take them to court most probably.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Nov 27, 2019

We offered this customer a refund however they do not want to go back to the store. Because the alignment was paid by credit card and we do not store credit card numbers this is the only way for us to issue the refund. Also the customer will need to sign a release that releases us from the warranty of the alignment. Mr *** can contact Bryon our center Manager whom he has already talk to. Thank you

If you days ago I went to Evans tire and national city on Highland, where I had them put on a five set of tires on my BMW 750 LI which is $100,000 car brand new, I also paid for an alignment and the balance when I got my car back I realize that my rims are black and I needed to clean them because I have white powder coated rims that are roughly around $870 when I got home I realize that all my rooms were destroyed with scratches drag marks from them pulling the weights out I talk to customer service and they said they couldn’t understand me so they couldn’t help me , to file an insurance claim? For what they damaged it I should be reimbursed for what Evans tire damaged even the manager at Evans tire said “there minor scratches though “ And they said that there’s nothing that they can do for me and basically one service me

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Aug 23, 2019

I have reviewed the facts of this case and I have personally talk to the customer on the phone it is my recommendation that they file insurance claim with their insurance company the marks that he’s talking about we do not believe we caused. It would be best to allow a third-party the insurance companies to determine what to do whatever the insurance company has agreed to I will support.

Evans tire of 1st Avenue in San Diego. Very sketchy shop, they don't want to honor the warranty I paid for.

Bought 4 new tires on this shop in November 2018, that's about 10 months ago. Paid an additional of $18.75 on each tire for the "Life of Tire service agreement", which is kind of a warranty that cover the tires if damaged by any road hazards, or if needed any balancement or alignment. The total for 4 tires was around $550-ish.

What happens is that I hit a huge pot hole and my tire has got a big slash on it's sidewall, causing noise and vibration when driving right after the incident. Took my car three times to Evans Tire Shop referring to this and they don't want to fix it at all. They allege the tire is good and their technician says he cannot hear or feel any noise of vibration when test driving. They just did balancement on the two front tires, but the noise and vibration continues and the tire looks really unsafe.

The damage on my tire huge. There's a slash on the side wall about 2 inches and considerably deep. Took to other two different shops for different opinions and they say my tire needs to be replaced ASAP because it is very dangerous to continue driving like that. But Evans Tire keeps saying my tire is "good and that's only cosmetic", which is ridiculous.

It is clear that they don't want to honor the service that I paid for, which is extremely frustrating.

I went into the Evans tire located on Highland avenue on Friday, August 2, 2019. Prior to going in I called the number to get a quote. During that call I informed the rep that I did not have the lock key for my tires and he advised me to bring the car in and that Evans tire would remove the locks free of charge. Once I arrived, Anthony told me it would cost $15 per tire to remove the locks prior to replacing my tires. I told him that the rep on the phone told me that it would be free and that was the only reason I did not go to another location. I called that number while I was at Evans and asked the same question to the rep and he responded in the same manner that it would be removed free of charge. Therefore, I had the rep talk to Anthony and after they hung up he said the best he could do is charge us $10 per tire to unlock the tires. I was told the tools to unlock tires did not belong to Evans instead the employees themselves so the corporate line could not make the decision to say it was free. Since I had no other choice and no time to look for another deal, I agreed and left my car at Evans to remove all 4 tires and have them replaced. Hours later, Anthony called and said one of the tires would not unlock with the machinery they had. So I had him replace 3 tires with the intent of having my mechanic remove the lock that he tightened. I went to my mechanic today and he was able to unscrew the tire with ease using a wrench. I have no idea why Evans tire would not be able to unlock this tire with the "supposed" employee owned machine. I now have my 4th tire in my trunk and unable to get off work on time to have them make the switch. They charge me for unlocking 4 tires when they only unlocked 3 and left my car alignment off. I want a full refund of $40 for false advertisement to begin with and for Evans tire to install my last tire that was paid for. Unless, they're prefer to take this matter to court.

My son purchased tires from Evans Tire where they took advantage of him because he had a blowout on the freeway and was towed to this location. They overcharged him for removing locking lug nuts and tires and sent him out with new tires without all the lug nuts on each tire which is dangerous. When I contacted them they wanted to charge him more money for the 4 extra lug nuts which they should not have sent him out with them all on the vehicle in the first place.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Jul 24, 2019

The customer car was towed to our Mira Mar location. As stated by the customer, the tires were in need to be replaced. In order to remove the tires, the wheel locks need to be removed. The customer did not have the wheel lock key. The customer approved us to cut the locks off the wheels. The issue as I understand it, is that the customer thought the cost of the new lug nuts to replace the locks we cut off were part of the labor charge for removing the locks. Our Manager said he tried to explain to this customer. I have approved for the Manager to call the customer and have the customer come in and we will install the lug nuts for free.

I took my car in to replace the two front tires. After I paid and got to my car I noticed chunks of paint missing around the two front wheels that weren’t there prior to taking my car in. I brought it to the store managers attention and he tried to brush it off saying there’s no possible way we did this and told me that I should’ve known my cars condition before bringing into the store. I explained that I definitely knew my vehicles condition considering I was focused on that area of my car all morning prior to bringing it in because of the fact that I need my tires replaced. He ended up just saying that they could never damage a car like that and walked away with NO SOLUTION OR ANSWER.

I have reviewed the pictures sent to me. I think it would be best for you to turn this over to your insurance company. Once your insurance company adjuster inspects your car. He can contact our customer care department at 760-579-4470.Thank you

Customer Response • Jul 23, 2019

This is not something that should even be taken to my insurance company this is something your company needs to fix as the issue was created by Evan’s tire.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Jul 23, 2019

Based on the picture provided and the abusive language used both in person and online. Evans Tire would suggest that you file this through your insurance company. We can let our insurance companies sort this out. Thank you

Customer Response • Jul 25, 2019

There would not have been any issues if responsibility was taken as it should have. If you cameras and video footage can show that in fact there was NO damage caused by your employees than this can be over with.

Evans tire at summit ,ranch area after few hurdle ,the job its been corrected, with the help of proper person at call center . Kudos to the byron he did try to reach out to get the error corrected , the shop in summit blvd is great .thank you byron henry .

The shop at Scripps summit has nothing to do with it ....I am very disappointed to this scenario ...I will not recommend evans tire to anyone ...

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Jul 10, 2019

Bryon has the tires st the store he is calling so that you can come in thank you

I found out that Evan's Tire put two different sized tires on the back of my car. Jason called me and then did nothing about it. I had been a loyal customer (purchased 4 different sets of tires from the company). No more!

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Jul 10, 2019

from our customer service department has left a message for the customer to call her. The customer purchased two tire already in Az. We will refund the customer for the tires once a release of claims is signed

Zero stars if possible, I left my car with Evans tires for 3 hours for a oil change and tire rotation and they said it would be done before 6pm and I get there at 5:58 then they say that they were swamped. You couldn't tell me that before I left my car for 3hours? I have spent thousands at Evans tires!!! I am done with them. I would rather spend more and get a better service!!!!!

1/12/2019
Went to the Down Town San Diego location on first street to have a flat tire on the rear driver side repaired, this tire has been patched once before after getting punctured. Prior to that tire was new. Only one patch on the tire. I told the techs at the location I would like the tire simply replaced and agreed to buy two new tires. When I picked up the Vehicle I noticed that the two new tires where on the front, Understandable because the car is front wheel drive and the tread was worn out, I assumed the technicians repaired the pierced tire since that's what I had asked them to do and when I drove away my tire pressure sensors went off signaling low pressure.
1/13/2019
Wake up 6am to commute 22 miles to work and what do you know, my rear driver side tire is low on air so I go to fill it up when I see the same screw stuck in my tire. The technicians sold me two new tires, didn't patch my rear tire and left the nail in it with out even notifying me that I was driving away on a defective tire after requesting service on such tire.
1/15/2019
I return to the shop to ask why I wasn't told that the tire with the nail was placed back on my vehicle and Evans agreed to patch it. Upon inspection the technician tells me the tire already has two patches and they cannot legally patch it a third time. I tell the technicians its a new tire that has been patched once by discount tire and call discount tire to verify this. So now I'm told I can drive away on my spare or buy a new tire. I examined the screw and it was flawlessly galvanized, no scratches markings or anything and was in a different spot from the screw I first saw that was directly opposite the first patch. I called out the shop for what appeared to be a scam after talking with discount tire and retrieving the service record. The manager then tried to tell me I had picked up this screw sometime between the 12th of January and the 15th, I told him no you never repaired my flat and no one else has. He then tried to tell me the tire is to damaged to salvage with another patch. His incompetence and changing reasons for trying to sell me on this scenario was extremely poor practice. I firmly believe that this Evans Tires Location in downtown San Diego on 1st avenue has not only poor but deceptive and illegal practices operating within the store. I am explicitly suggesting this store pierced my tire with a new screw and or manipulated the tire to resemble what was two patches that had been previously placed there in order to first cover there incompetent repairs from 1/12/2019 and secondly to scam me into purchasing another tire. I have taken many other cars to this location for many years however this shop has declined in integrity and customer service to the point where I will never use them and will formally file a complaint with the Revdex.com with all documents and service records related to this transaction. Lastly the manager asked another customer at the time to submit a "Positive" in Spanish yelp review before her service was even finished. Apparently Evans Tires has no problem with deceit and dishonesty in order to make a quick buck in the rain.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Jan 16, 2019

This location fixes many flat tires for free each month and has done so for many years. the manager has been in the company for over 10 years I’ve never had a complaint like this ever before on this location. I apologize Nicholas if you feel like you were missed treated but I can assure you I know this manager personally and I know his family he is not the kind of person that would do what you were suggesting. I know that this will not convince you. I will document this into our employee file. Once again I apologize to you, it is never our intention to mis treat any customer. Thanks

I brought my 2009 BMW 328i to Evans Tire on 12/01/2018, for a battery replacement. The representative at Evans Tire stated they knew how to perform this service. Not only did they install the incorrect battery in my vehicle (non AGM--Napa Legend 75 Battery #49), they did not register the battery to my vehicle, which is necessary. After installation, my car would not start properly or run properly. I told the Evans team they needed to register the battery, and I also asked them if they even installed the correct battery. I had to tow my vehicle to a BMW repair facility on Monday, 12/03/18, for proper repair. The BMW repair facility let me know that Evans installed the incorrect battery in my car and did not register it properly. I then spoke to Evans manager Ritchie Lauby on 12/08/2018, who treated me rudely and in a condescending manner. He said Evans did everything to specification. I then spoke to the regional representative *** on Monday, 12/10/18, to explain the problem. He called me back on Tuesday, 12/11/18, to again say Evans did nothing wrong and installed the correct battery. He also stated battery registration was not necessary. Please note that even on the Napa website for that battery it states, "2009 BMW 328i
Vehicle Types: Auto/Light Trucks
Models: 328i--Vehicle Computer System Must be Reset. Check Original Battery For Size & Correct Fit.;Located In Trunk;900 CCA;49 BCI Group Size.
Please note that on my receipt from Bimmerspeed, they indicate the Napa battery was incorrect for my car and was not registered. I also spoke with another BMW repair shop today, 12/12/18, who stated the Napa battery was incorrect (non AGM) and absolutely needed to be registered or it would kill the life of the battery as the car would overcharge the battery and ruin it.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Dec 13, 2018

Good morning I have reviewed this complaint with *** in regards to the battery installation at our location number 23 we have refunded the customer back their money on their battery and ***, Is having a training meeting at the store in regards to programming batteries during installation on certain high end vehicles that require the service. We apologize for any inconvenience

Customer Response • Dec 13, 2018

I do not understand how *** is conducting a training on battery registration when *** told me on Tuesday, 12/11/18, that battery registration is not required on my car. In addition, he (along with all Evans employees) have insisted that the battery Evan's installed was the correct one for my vehicle, which it is not. While Evans refunded me the money on the battery they installed (the Napa), I'm still out approximately $300 for the new Interstate battery that was installed by a BMW repair shop because Evans told me my original Interstate battery was not under warranty. While I have filed a claim from Interstate for return of these funds, the matter is still open.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Dec 14, 2018

Evans Tire refunded you for your battery. Your warranty on your interstate battery is not with Evans Tire. We would not know your warranty on an interstate battery

On Tuesday 9/18/2018 I brought my vehicle in to have my tires balanced and rotated and also to have a 4 wheel alignment done . My first issue, is that when I arrived my account in your system with my customer information and purchase history wouldn't appear. So the associate I dealt with was unable to do the 4 wheel alignment, which is understandable, the associate was unable to pull my file proving my purchase. However I purchased the 3 year alignment deal. My 2nd and main complaint however is that several weeks later when I was doing some maintenance on my car and I needed to remove my wheel. When I went to remove my wheels I realized that I didn't need my wheel lock key because my wheel locks were missing. In there place we're standard non-locking lug nuts. Im confused, because I was never informed that this change was made, and I feel as if my property was modified without my permission or consent, or in a sense stolen. This highly unacceptable, and at the very least If this had to be done to remove my wheels ( which wouldn't make sense because I handed your associate your wheel lock key before I left) I should have at least been informed of this before any work had taken place. I've never had these issues when I used your facility in Downtown, but if this is how your kearny mesa location is ran, you really need to examine your employees integrity/work ethic.

Evans Tire & Service Centers Response • Oct 09, 2018

The original location that did the alignment was our Downton store. Our Manager Gil found the three year alignment and will contact this customer today. In regards to the locking lugs. We would never do what is being suggested however I have authorized Gil to get this customer a new set of locking lug nuts.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. However I would like to make it clear that the downtown location is not the location in which this incident took place. The incident took place at your Kearny Mesa Location ( off of Convoy St.) I only mentioned the downtown location because I wanted to make it clear that the employees at that location have always done an amazing job, and I was shocked that the level of customer service I received at that location was not carried over to other ones. So again to make it clear, I've never had an issue in regards to any transactions/services fulfilled at your Downtown location. Only at the Kearny Mesa Location ( Again located off of Convoy St).

Regards,

Sean
