Case #[redacted] Turner's Pool and Spa, Inc., was contracted to install a new pool liner and breakout, haul away and repour a small area of...

concrete deck. There were some delays due to wet Spring weather and availability of materials, but the work was completed on or about May 2, 2015 . The homeowner is responsible for the water to fill the swimming pool. In May 2015, the homeowner was satisfied with the workmanship when the final payment was rendered. If you have any questions regarding thjs statement, I can be reached at [redacted] President

The appointment has been rescheduled.  The warranty company has given authorization to replace the filter grids.  The appointment to replace the filter grids has been scheduled. The filter grids have been replaced.  This job is complete.

The pool at the said address needs attention.  Additional cleaning and chemicals.  The pool cleaning rate is $95.00 the first hour and $65.00. Each additional hour.  There is a charge for the additional chemicals needed to clear the said pool.
At the time of opening chemicals were added.  The first hour of cleaning has been conducted.  The pool needs additional cleaning and renter does not want to take on the responsibility of the additional cost to get the pool swim ready.
Once it is decided (the renter or the homeowner) as to who will be paying for the additional services and products, we will gladly render the service.  A deposit will be required.

Case #[redacted]
There is no warranty that covers all types of pool repairs. Turner's Pool and Spa, Inc., has found no evidence of freeze damage due to winterizing pool. The pool located at 8520 Swan Woods Road, is over 12 years old and is out of workmanship...

warranty. Turner's is willing to assist the homeowner in repairing the said leak for a fee. If you have any questions regarding this statement, I can be reached at (540) 891-8650.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Turner's once again failed to offer a viable resolution to the complaint (which asserts that their business engaged in an unethical practice, specifically providing a misleading quote and then failing to perform the service as quoted, that led to my agreeing to have them service my pool).
Unless an attempt is made to resolve my complaint I will cease trying to resolve this issue through the Revdex.com and I will look to elevate the issue to the Virginia District Attorney citing the fact that the company appears to be providing misleading quotes to earn the business of military members and then leave them high and dry. I also plan on reaching out to local news media in addition to filing a small claims lawsuit.  Turner's appears to not be taking this as seriously as I would have hoped a business would. I simply want to be treated fairly.

This company was used only because my home warranty company sent them. They then proceeded to lie to my home warranty company, [redacted], about my pool pump being damaged before my contract date began. My pool pump WAS NOT damaged before my contract began. When I contacted them they lied to me and pushed it all on [redacted]. They also came to my home without letting me know when they were coming, trespassing on my property.

Turner's has done nothing to attempt to resolve this issue; Turner's fails to address the fact that I was provided a misleading quote that caused me to hire them to perform service on my pool in the first place. Despite making the claim that Turner's was advised I was on a budget on 03 June (erroneous and irrelevant; I have the money to pay more but don't feel that I should need to pay more for a service that I was provided what I could reasonably expect was a fair and complete quote for), all that [redacted] has done was RE-state information that I provided Revdex.com in my complaint, with the inclusion of dates. A consumer is under no legal obligation to discuss their financial situation with a business. The business provides a quote for services and both parties can reasonably expect that if services are provided, consumer will pay company the quoted amount. It is none of Turner's business what I am able to pay. They need only be sure to clearly outline how much they will charge me for the service I am asking them to provide -- which they failed to do when they told me it would cost an extra $95 to clean my pool "if it needed extra cleaning." That's $95 I was told and reasonably expected was the complete an honest quote -- not $95 per hour, as was relayed to me AFTER servicing by Julie. That discrepancy is the reason for my Revdex.com complaint and  I find Turner's response insufficient as it makes no effort to address my issue as the consumer.

As stated previously, I would like Turner's to either RE-close/winterize my pool at no charge or finish cleaning my pool at no additional charge (I will pay the $500 charge, as quoted).
Please be advised, multiple other consumers have cited unethical business practices from this company: [redacted] These [redacted] reviews prove I am not alone and I'm sure other consumers would appreciate Revdex.com and the Virginia State District Attorney's assistance in ensuring unethical business practices will not be tolerated and American consumers will be protected.

Regards,
[redacted]

Turner's Pool and Spa, Inc. has not done anything unethical.  The services that were paid for were provided.

The pool cleaning rate as quoted is $95.00 the first hour and $65.00 each additional hour.  The chemicals needed to clear the pool are also an additional charge.  Mr. Brown was contacted prior to the additional charges to clear and clean the said pool.  The pool water was not clear when the pool was opened and the pool needed a lot of attention.

Case #[redacted]

and bearings), a spa motor for [redacted]. When [redacted] installed the motor on
his spa, he notice a leak in the pump housing.
[redacted] contracted Turner’s Pool and Spa....

Turner’s pool and
Spa offered to check the spa motor again at no charge, but [redacted] would have
to return the spa motor to us. [redacted] demanded that we come to his house and
fix the pump motor leak.
[redacted] on May 8, returned the motor to our shop for evaluation.
The pump housing was replaced at no additional cost to the said homeowner. The homeowner
picked up the spa motor on May 10, 2014 and also signed off that he had
received his spa motor.

A flat fee is supposed to be exactly that.  I was never given any indication that the cost of opening or cleaning a pool was a variable cost. This was my first time contracting a corporation to open, clean, and ready a pool for use.  When I asked for a quote, I asked to have a price to ready the pool for use and I was told an amount that was roughly $500.
I have contacted the District Attorney's Consumer Protection office so they can initiate a fraud/unethical business practice investigation; I will be contacting the appropriate authorities on the military side so I can advise all DOD-affiliated families in the DC/Fredericksburg area of the dangers of doing business with this company; and I will file a small claims lawsuit to re-coup the cost of the "servicing" that Turner's charged me for, in addition to the cost of cleaning and re-covering/winterizing the pool [had Turner's provided me an accurate quote OR elected to contact me prior to performing any service on the pool to advise that the cost of opening/cleaning was going to be double, I would have kept the pool closed and would not have become liable for the pool per the terms of my lease].
Attempts to have Turner's make things right have been unsuccessful; too much of my time has been invested in trying to resolve this issue now.
Regards,
[redacted]
