I used to use this company, and they were good So I decided to put my two credit cards on the program But they had falsely given me the impression that [redacted] agreed to lower my interest rate to something % and that my minimum was only $ Well, they paid that, and found out last week that PNC rejected lowering the interest rate (from 19.99%) and my actual balance was still something, but FCM never told me - I found out the hard way when my [redacted] minimum payment jacked up with interest and the remaining outstanding balance that FCM didn't pay to $126! Why they didn't call me last week to let me know, I don't know They are refunding their administrative fees to me, but that still won't make up for the extra I have to pay to [redacted] so I left FCM a voicemail letting them know and that considering they didn't verify the minimum balance due or notify me of the rejection last week they should pay some of that $ We'll see what happens But I am not a happy camper with this service

I was overwhelmed and felt like I was drowning in credit card payments Everyone at FCM was a real pleasure to work with and I felt instant financial relief as soon as we had set up a plan Never had any problems and now I can say that I am debt free in large part and thanks to everyone at Family Credit Management Services

I had nowhere to turn, husband lost his job, I was only working part time at a pizza place and we had really high credit card debtI tried frantically to get a loan to consolidate all my debt but because of my high balances on my cards I was unable to get approved for a loanThis was another option and we chose thisNow we pay a set payment twice a monthYes it has hurt our credit because all our accounts had to be closed, but the payments are slowly chipping away at the balances and we have about years total to be credit card and other debt freeWe've been in the program since about December so less than three years from now our balance will be practically zero!!!!! Im so excited:)

Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois, IncNWabash Avenue, Suite Chicago, IL RE: Mia N [redacted] (Client) - Revdex.com Case ID# [redacted] To whom it may concern: This email is in response to your inquiry regarding Mia N [redacted] Family Credit Management (FCMS - d/b/a Family Credit Counseling Service) has researched the account and the following information will summarize our Client signed our agreement and enrolled in our Debt Management Plan on 11-05- Client requested her payment be made through our free AutoPay option and signed her authorization for our ACH form electronically on 11-05-to have $withdrawn on the 8th of each month Client contacted us via email on 12-06-10:AM to hold her payment for December 8th Her email stated the following: "I'm really falling behind on my bills due to lack of work because of thanksgiving and the holidaysI'm not sure if I can make the payment in whole this monthWhat are my options for help? I'm working half days and getting half the hours I normally do Please and thank you." When our client services representative received her email we immediately stopped her AutoPay as to not overdraw her checking account Therefore, no payment was withdrawn on December 8th An email response was sent to Client 12-06-3:PM indicating we have held her scheduled ACH payment and asked for more information specifically, what amount can Client afford for her December payment Unfortunately, the response was sent to an email address with one number omitted and Client did not receive our response Client is now upset the payment which she said she could not afford was not made While our email response did go to an invalid email address which was our error, we received no other correspondence from Client nor did she attempt to contact us by telephone, chat or ask to speak to a supervisor at any point Client did not contact us again until she filed a Revdex.com complaint almost a month after her payment to us was due As one of the largest credit counseling agencies in the country for over years we are of course, disappointed that we sent our response to the wrong email address, however, a quick call from Client would have allowed us to clarify what amount, if anything, Client could afford to pay in December I will be copying the Revdex.com on this letter and processing Client’s FCMS account to close No further payments will be withdrawn from Client’s banking account; please begin making payments to creditors directly If further discussion is needed, please feel free to contact me at (815) 484-Monday through Friday 8:AM to 5:PM CST or by email at Kim [redacted] @familycredit.orgSincerely, Kim [redacted] Client Services Department Manager

I was up to my neck in debt with quite a few companies of course my own fault when I was younger I didn't know what to do My mom talked about debt management she used another company I read some reviews decided to go with Family Credit All I can say was it was so easy I got all my bills together gave them a summary of them online and a few emails they made it very easy They got a few of my companies to drop the interest rate to 0% the rest were really really low and they made it easy for me I made payments a month to them and they took care of the rest Anytime I had any issues or concerns they always got back to me via an email or phone call The staff was always great with me I recently was able to pay them off what I owed in my bills but no way without family credit would I be debt free todayYou can just text them a payment made it so easy Just paying the minimum payment on credit cards is not enough and if you have more than a few it will take forever my advise would be to call family credit or visit them online It's such a relief to have all them creditors paid off Thank you family credit

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2014/07/22) */
Client complaint seems to indicate he has three concerns: The first being he feels we "spent" his money without his authorization
Client had been participating in the debt management plan since He was aware that payments are
sent to creditors each month and we would have no reason to receive authorization from a client to pay their creditorsThe primary objective of the program is to make regular payments to clients' creditors every monthThe client pays us and we pay their creditors shortly thereafter
I have attached to this response our signed client agreement which states "FCMS will deposit Client's funds in a trust account and disburse to Client's creditors on a percentage basis to be determined by FCMS"
The second concern stated in his complaint is he is upset one of his accounts - ** *** has charged off even though we have been making payments to the creditor on the program and that we did not make the client aware when this happened
Creditors each have their own guidelines as to when they charge off an accountJC Penney does not have a policy to notify a third-party agency when an account is close to charge-off or when the account actually reaches charge-off status
The client did not send in statements to Family Credit Management which is requested as part of participation in a debt management planAttached is a copy of our Client Responsibilities which states "Most creditors will mail a monthly statement directly to me(FCM will not receive copies)FCM will also mail me a monthly activity statementIt is my responsibility to review the statements carefully, and verify payments are being properly appliedIf I am receiving fees or the interest rates are incorrect, it is my responsibility to alert FCM to the problem within days of being charged."
We are not even sure exactly why Client is angryHe fully understood the process of following the requirements as set forth by the State and Banking institutions governing credit counselingAccording to his account notes, he was notified by ** *** of the account reaching charge-off status and being handled by a different department on 05-17-FCMS advised we would continue to send payments on his behalf as he still owed the money to *** regardless of if it was charged off or notClient agreed
The third concern stated in his complaint was a member of management was not immediately available to take his call and that the account representative assigned to his account was uncooperative
Client told the client services representative he filed a complaint and requested to speak to select members of management, when no one was available, he hung upHe called back and was transferred to a department supervisorHe was then transferred to a manager and had a long conversation about his concerns, this was all the same day he filed his complaint with the Revdex.com

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 10, 2014/07/27) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This information is incorrect. This is not the agreements set up by the representatives of the company with usThe company said to us on three occasions they was an error and money was sent that should not have need and even requested from the creditor that the extra money be returned and it wasThe problem is that FCMS says they sent the money to the creditor and reflected that on our statements but the creditor says they never received the money which caused us to become past due and the account was charged off for that reason according to the creditorWe have never received anything from the creditor except a form letter of a zero balance due which we got a few timesMy wife called the creditor but they told her they could not speak to her since the account was with a Debt Management company
It is up to FCMS to prove the payments were made as they said they were with the creditorI also should be refunded the administrative fees for them handling the account and not doing anything to help usThis company is not doing what is in our best interest or looking out for us but rather trying to protect their money and name in my opinionI thought I could trust these folks and I am sorry it has come to this
Final Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2014/08/15) */
I do believe we have a complete understanding of the situationHowever, client's issues with us have changed as the rest of his issues have been apparently resolvedFor example, on his complaint to the Revdex.com on 7/he stated "FCMS says they sent the money to the creditor and reflected that on our statements but the creditor says they never received the money which caused us to become past due"Thankfully, this appears to be resolved
It now appears the only problem remaining is that the creditor did not receive or accept an updated proposal for the reduced paymentThe creditor did not inform us, or apparently the client, that the payment amount seemingly was not meeting their requirementsIf the creditor was not sending statements to their client, this would be a matter for them to pursue with the creditorWithout notification by the creditor that payment amounts were not acceptable, we and the client have no good way to know there is an issueWhile this does not happen regularly, review of the creditor statements catches the problemIn regards to how the creditor applied payments, that is an issue between the creditor and client as we have no purview over this
From day one of the program, we stress the fact that we do not receive copies of the creditor statementsIt is the responsibility of the client to forward copies of them to us so we can review themIf the client is not receiving statements, he should have notified us for further investigationWe are here to partner with the client and work WITH themWhen they don't communicate with us, our hands quickly become tied
I hope this has addressed all of the concerns
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 14, 2014/08/06) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This company is not understanding the situationThe creditor says they never received the updated proposal for changing the payment amount and each month showed dollars short putting us in defaultThe only payments we missed were when there was already a balance or surplus in the accountThe payments received by the creditor is not the issue but how they were applied is incorrectWe only learned of this from a credit reportNo statements were ever received

January 26, Revdex.com of Chicago & Northern Illinois, IncNWabash Avenue, Suite Chicago, IL RE: Mia N*** (Client) - Revdex.com Case ID# *** To whom it may concern: I have reviewed our former Client’s latest request. She now has requested we refund all of the money she has paid us, she is well aware her payments went to pay her creditors and have been credited to her debt. As we previously reported, she sent us an email stating she could not make a full payment in December. We stopped the payment. We emailed her to question if she could instead make a partial payment (this email was not received by her as there was a typo in the email address) and she never followed up with us in December. She apparently did not notice her consolidation payment was not deducted from her bank account until after Christmas at which time she notified us saying she did not have the funds to make up the December payment (which, if this payment was authorized at this point, would have led to no negative marks on her credit) We understand many of our clients struggled in making their full payment in December and that we had a typo in our email to her. However, a quick telephone call, online chat, or email, would have resolved this (unless she did not have the funds as she alluded to in her initial email). Now she would like us to contact each of her creditors to reverse all her previous payments and refund the money to her. She is well aware we do not have the funds as they were paid to and applied to her outstanding balances by her creditors If she would like, we can make a request to her creditors to reverse previous payments, but please understand if granted, this would cause serious damage to her credit If further discussion is needed, please feel free to contact me at (***) *** Monday through Friday 8:AM to 5:PM CST or by email at Kim.***@familycredit.org Sincerely, Kim ***Client Services Department Manager

I was going along enjoying lifeSpending, traveling & just having a good timeAll of a sudden the economy took a diveMy solid job, in jeopardy, my hours were cut to a day work weekI soon found myself struggling to keep up with everyday expenses as well as bills including credit cards of various balancesI knew I needed help and had seen ads about companies offering help "getting out of debt"I searched many online,
read all the reviews and decided on Family Credit Management ServicesThey were able to contact my creditors and lower interest rates and set up a repayment program for meThis was the best thing I have done to take intense pressure off myself and still maintain an ever increasing credit score They were so easy to work with and truly interested in helping someone get debt relief and peace of mind
There were several contacts at FCMS that helped throughout the course of my repayment program but none so special as their Client Service DeptManager, Christine ***She was always attentive to my questions, quickly returning my emails and offering advice along the wayCan't imagine a better experienceThis month I paid off the last two Cards and It was like a door opened to freedomHad to pop the cork on a bottle of Champagne I have been saving for this day!
If you are in trouble financially and are thinking of getting help, I would definitely recommend trying this company

I just want to say thanks to everyone at FCC it was so great to work with such a wonderful group of people, always so helpful and knowledgeableI have referred many friends and co workers, they all seem very happy as well"I'm debt free"

Five successful years with Family Credit 60,monthly payments All processed timely and correctly by Family Credit Numerous direct contacts courtesly and very effectively answered

This place is taking my money each month yet it is not paying my credit card bill I now have a deliquency notices for the last monthMy bills have not been paid since May, the last time I made payment on my accounts myself
Is this company a SCAM operation? This has me scared to death!!!

I made the mistake of getting in the trap of easy-to-obtain online payday loans I got one...then another...then another and before I knew it, I was just barely staying afloat, and many important bills were being ignoredI was at a desperate placeI was not sleeping well, eating well, or focusing on important things like family and work From the very first contact with Family Credit Management, things got better for me They are professional, courteous, and easy to work withThey always treated me with dignity They already have a good relationship with your debtorsStop doubting and give them a call There's a light at the end of the tunnel This month marked months with FCMS....and I'm debt freeWe "snowballed" all my debt towards the end (all it takes is an email and they'll pay extra where you want)NOW, since I'm used to living with a payment (that I no longer have), I am able to SAVE money for the first time in years HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY!

RE: Mia N[redacted] (Client) - Revdex.com Case ID# [redacted]
To whom it may concern: This email is in response to your inquiry regarding Mia N[redacted]. Family Credit Management (FCMS - d/b/a Family Credit Counseling Service) has researched the account and the following information will summarize our position: Client signed our agreement and enrolled in our Debt Management Plan on 11-05- Client requested her payment be made through our free AutoPay option and signed her authorization for our ACH form electronically on 11-05-to have $withdrawn on the 8th of each month Client contacted us via email on 12-06-10:AM to hold her payment for December 8th. Her email stated the following: "I'm really falling behind on my bills due to lack of work because of thanksgiving and the holidaysI'm not sure if I can make the payment in whole this monthWhat are my options for help? I'm working half days and getting half the hours I normally do. Please and thank you." When our client services representative received her email we immediately stopped her AutoPay as to not overdraw her checking account. Therefore, no payment was withdrawn on December 8th. An email response was sent to Client 12-06-3:PM indicating we have held her scheduled ACH payment and asked for more information specifically, what amount can Client afford for her December payment. Unfortunately, the response was sent to an email address with one number omitted and Client did not receive our response. Client is now upset the payment which she said she could not afford was not made. While our email response did go to an invalid email address which was our error, we received no other correspondence from Client nor did she attempt to contact us by telephone, chat or ask to speak to a supervisor at any point. Client did not contact us again until she filed a Revdex.com complaint almost a month after her payment to us was due. As one of the largest credit counseling agencies in the country for over years we are of course, disappointed that we sent our response to the wrong email address, however, a quick call from Client would have allowed us to clarify what amount, if anything, Client could afford to pay in December I will be copying the Revdex.com on this letter and processing Client's FCMS account to close. No further payments will be withdrawn from Client's banking account; please begin making payments to creditors directly If further discussion is needed, please feel free to contact me at (815) 484-Monday through Friday 8:AM to 5:PM CST or by email at Kim[redacted]@familycredit.orgSincerely, Kim [redacted]Client Services Department Manager

I have been with Family Credit Management for almost 5 years now. Had it not been for their help, we would probably have lost everything we have, including our home. My husband lost his job in 2008, we lived off of credit cards, but then it came time to pay the piper. They got me on a plan where all interest rates were reduced. It has not been easy making even these reduced payments, but I am happy to say we are a few months away from putting all of this debt behind us. The person who gave a negative review - she should have received monthly statements from her credit card company, and if nothing changed, then perhaps she should have contacted them, not waited for them to contact her.

Thank you Family Credit for being on our side through this horrible time in our lives.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:When I called [redacted] Sunday to ask about the 30 day late they confirmed it and said to call Family Credit.  Furious, I called Family credit and stated what [redacted] said.  Today I got a email stating that she would that I was in violation with the company for opening other credit cards while in the program.  NO one EVER told me this when signing up.  I appreciate their help but I have had some bumps in the road along the way.  The lady dropped us from the program today stating we were in violation.  She stated they paid [redacted] but [redacted] said they had a 30 day to me on Sunday.  I put my credit sesame ding as an attachment on file.  We are fully responsible for what we do to our own credit, but I feel like I am lost in this process with what happened here.  The response back from the company after many years was very rude.  I am very disappointed in how all of this is being handled.  I just wanted an answer about the [redacted].
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I was overwhelmed and felt like I was drowning in credit card payments. Everyone at FCM was a real pleasure to work with and I felt instant financial relief as soon as we had set up a plan. Never had any problems and now I can say that I am debt free in large part and thanks to everyone at Family Credit Management Services.

I used to use this company, and they were good. So I decided to put my two credit cards on the program. But they had falsely given me the impression that [redacted] agreed to lower my interest rate to 12 something % and that my minimum was only $75. Well, they paid that, and found out last week that PNC rejected lowering the interest rate (from 19.99%) and my actual balance was still 80 something, but FCM never told me - I found out the hard way when my [redacted] minimum payment jacked up with interest and the remaining outstanding balance that FCM didn't pay to $126! Why they didn't call me last week to let me know, I don't know. They are refunding their administrative fees to me, but that still won't make up for the extra I have to pay to [redacted] so I left FCM a voicemail letting them know and that considering they didn't verify the minimum balance due or notify me of the rejection last week they should pay some of that $126. We'll see what happens. But I am not a happy camper with this service.

FCM is the best thing that could meet me. This is a real help in financial difficulties. FCM care of all matters with the creditors. After talking with a consultant I saw a monthly amount to repay. With thousands of dollars of debt, my monthly payment was a few hundred. It's like paying off only one of my cards. Everyone working there is very nice and friendly. It really is a wonderful company. I love them all. Professionals.

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I set up automatic payments, you did not write the proper email back in return. You are at fault for not with drawing my payment, emailing my info to another person, and ruining my credit. I want all my money back I sent you for any type of payment. Your company did nothing but ruin my credit. I want all of the money I sent to you for payments back.
Sincerely,
Mia [redacted]

This business was wonderful in working with me and helping me pay off my debt in an honorable and legitimate manner. I cannot stress enough-for those in need of financial assistance-how good it feels to pay off what you owe and be "free". I would recommend them highly. If you have integrity, go this route-bankruptcy is for those that cop-out (in my opinion) and this payoff plan not only reduced my interest tremendously, but allowed me to pay off bills that I would NEVER have been able to pay off on my own. I am so very grateful.
