On September **, 2013, [redacted] signed

and confirmed contract number [redacted] with Family Energy for the

supply of Natural Gas and Electricity.

On February **, 2014,

Family Energy cancelled contract number [redacted], as per the customer’s

request without any cost or penalty to the customer. Family

Energy sent a drop request to their local utility to remove Family Energy’s

program from their accounts. The utility

had set the effective drop dates; February **, 2014 for the Electricity and

March *, 2014 for the Natural Gas.

Family Energy mailed the customer a

confirmation cancellation letter on March **, 2014.

Review: 2 weeks ago a salesman came to my mother's house and aggressively made his way into her home; she had already singed an energy contract with another company and tried to explain that. He misrepresented what she could and could not do as far as exiting that contract and having her sign a new one. We were able to have that contract closed after contacting the company. However, one week later, another salesman from Just Energy came out, misrepresenting who he was with and talked her into signing ANOTHER contract. Once again, we intervened, contacted the company, had the contract closed out. We also demanded that they remove her from their call list, that they send no further salespeople to her home or to contact her by phone. Today, a THIRD sales rep called; one again, she misrepresented who she was, telling my mother and me only that she was a [redacted] contractor and was asking my mother for personal information from her [redacted] bill. I repeatedly told the woman ("Amber") that we have repeatedly demanded my mother's name and number be removed from their list and that they no longer call her house or come to her house and that I was prepared to file a complaint with Revdex.com, Consumer Affairs and any state regulatory body that was appropriate. I asked her several times the name of her company, she refused to disclose it (except for one time). I asked for her supervior's name, she refused to disclose it. I told her that we would take her name, her supervisor's name, her direct extension and full name of the company she was with and we would get back to her. She hung up on me.Desired Settlement: We demand that this company no longer contact my mother, [redacted], at her residence ([redacted]) or on her phone ###-###-####.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

My complaint was made against "Your Family Energy" ([redacted]) , as noted in the complaint above

[redacted]

[redacted]

[redacted]

In my description above, I wrote the wrong company - Just Energy is who my mother currently has service with, Your Family Energy is the company that continues to harass my mother, has salesmen repeatedly showing up at her house and who I, personally, spoke with on the phone.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Business

Response:

SFE Energy

has placed the customer’s address and phone number on our internal No

Solicitation/Do Not Call list. The complaint has been logged in our

database and communicated to our sales force.

Review: Two complaints - 1. when I signed up for the service I was promised that if my bills went up Family Energy would send be a check for $50-75 if I was unhappy with the service. Every bill I received after signing was higher than any bill had gotten prior to joining the company. Bills from $60. - $105. went to $96. - $171.

2. The company continues to call me every single evening, offering these outrageous deals. I have asked then to stop calling but they continue to pressure me to re-join the company. I want the calls to stop. Deregulation has created a monster and the consumers are suffering because of it.Desired Settlement: Have them sent a check.

Review: This company periodically sends representatives to my neighborhood soliciting door to door, although we have told them in the past we are not interested. when you tell them that, you have to be rude in order for them to accept your response.

Most recently they came to my area shortly after I had used my cell phone and put it down on my front steps. I then was talking to my neighbor about 10 feet away with my back to my house and did not see the rep go to my door. When I finished I went to my stairs and was then approached by another rep from Family Energy. I told her I was not interested, told her to put me on her no contact list and proceeded to my front door. I immediately turned around to retrieve my cell phone which was no longer there.

I immediately attempted to call and track the phone, which had last had 39% power, but it was powered off.

I saw one of the male representatives in front of a neighbor's house and asked if he had rang my bell earlier. he said no and I asked for his company info. He gave me his card and also provided his first name (last initial) and the rep ID # in the spaces provided on the card. Additionally, he provided the date, time, and a contact phone number.

When I saw the second male rep as he was going to my next door neighbor's door and asked him for the same info he did not want to give it to me and asked if I got anyone else's information. He finally hesitantly gave me a card with only a first name scribbled on it, for which I can only make out the first two letters.

About an hour later these two men were observed by neighbors on an adjacent street with a gray cell phone stating, "Let's check out this phone."

All I can say is that if not for the door to door canvassing that this and other [redacted] do to manipulate people, these strangers would not have been at my door. Moreover, if not for the fact that they do not adequately screen these representatives, who they then send to peoples' homes, criminals would not have been at my front door. When I initially called and told them that these were representatives of their company, the [redacted] I spoke to told me, "These people work on commission... they could be working for other companies as well." I insisted that at that time they were working as agents for Family Energy, as that was the ID cards they presented to me.

Thank goodness their crime was to steal a cell phone. What would the company say if they forced their way into my house and [redacted]?? But instead they tell me that these individuals COULD be representing other companies as well, and now it will take 48 hours to look into the matter.

Totally unacceptable!Desired Settlement: Return or replacement of my cell phone immediately! Since they have a 48 hour window for this investigation, compensation for the new one I will need to purchase, since I cannot wait and be without it for 2-3 more days. I also want the company to make sure that all of their solicitors stay away from my home.

Review: Representatives from Family Energy frequently solicit to my neighborhood and have on numerous occasions knocked on my door- despite being told that I am not interested I their services. I have asked repeatedly, to different representatives, to stop knocking at my door. Last month the representative told me that they would place me on a "do not knock" list- which seemed like a fair solution to the problem. Today- another two representatives knocked and when I told them I had already told them that I was not interested and had been assured I would be placed on a list- they replied saying that I had not personally told them this. On every occasion a different representative has approached my home- so no kidding, of course I had not had the pleasure of informing these individuals. Do I honestly need to tell these representatives monthly? Furthermore- I asked this months representatives to leave me a business card in my mailbox and they were agreeable. I checked- and they neglected to do so. Were they afraid of a complaint?Desired Settlement: I wish that Family Energy will stop coming to my home and disrupting my family. I am not interested! I also would like to enquire about the presence of this "list"- was it a line of hoopla or does it actually exist?

Customer Information:

Review: I signed a three year contract for a fixed rate plan with Family Energy. I changed addresses and no longer need gas service as I have oil now. In addition I no longer want their electric supply service, my primary utility Central Hudson Gas and Electric has better rates and service than this ESCO. Family Energy's fixed rate isn't any cheaper for me now and there is no benefit as far as I'm concerned. In addition, I just moved on 10/**/15 and within a few days of the address change, Family Energy started calling constantly and left no voicemails. I called back and requested service in all areas, electric and gas be discontinued immediately. Request has not been fulfilled. I have reached out a couple more times via email form for customer service to no avail. This all started from aggressive, rude and pushy door to door sales.Desired Settlement: I would like the immediate cancellation and discontinuance of all services I currently have with Family Energy, electric and gas as well as no further contact from them in any way.

Review: The salesman came to my door was very aggressive and insisted there had been an error on my gas and electric billing. He asked to see it and as I asked why, I don't understand, he started to fast-talk about the rates and confuse me. I let him in, which I regret now, and he began filling out some paperwork and I told him I'm already with a natural energy provider but he just pushed through the conversation and said I need to sign the paperwork and I would get a big reduction in my gas and electric billing. He wouldn't listen or let me ask questions. I felt I had no choice or he wouldn't leave and being on a fixed income I need to keep my bills down.

A week later I got an email from my local gas and electric company asking if I wanted to change providers. I then checked my files and found that I had a contract with Just Energy from 6/**/13. I said I did not want to change.

10/**/15 I received a cancellation notice from Family Energy for $75. Their contract states a $25 cancellation fee. When I call them I either get music or when someone answers the phone and I tell them I'm calling about the cancellation fee, they hang up on me.Desired Settlement: I do not want to pay this cancellation fee. Their sales tactics are unethical and now they are trying to overcharge me with tripling the cancellation fees.
