Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Revdex.com:
At this time, I have not been contacted by Family Time Connections regarding complaint ID [redacted]. My husband and I visited the [redacted] office at the beginning of the month. We felt that maybe our request would be...

honored if we went in person. We had our three children with us. A [redacted] who insisted she wasn't a [redacted], stated that we would be speaking to a [redacted] but he was in a meeting. She was referring to [redacted]. While we waited for [redacted] to attend to us, we noticed a lot of shuffling around. The service representative had jotted down our information and brought it in the back to [redacted]. In the meantime, the [redacted] did tend to us, giving us updates on [redacted]' availability. She kept walking in and out of the back office and then in the waiting area where my family and I were. She finally came out and stated that they cannot help us as the company no longer exists and is not handled by FTC. She handed me a phone number to call to be assisted. I explained to her that we were told that we could come to the office in person and a [redacted] or someone from the finance dept could cancel the contract. I also explained that other members have been able to cancel with no problems. I knew this because a former employee had stated such; stating that members cancelled all the time. I expressed that to the [redacted] and she hid behind the three day right of rescission. I explained that that was never verbally recited to us; that when we signed up, we asked if we could cancel anytime and was told that we could cancel anytime, and if we don't use the service, we would not be billed annually. She stated they can't help us but the [redacted] will be out in a second to tell us the same thing. She left the room. The service rep came out and said one of the [redacted] would be right with us. I asked her who we were waiting for, exactly. She stated that it was either [redacted] or the woman we were just talking to. I told her that the woman said she wasn't a [redacted]. The rep replied, "she said that?" I became upset as I was getting the runaround. It was clear to me that this could be cancelled but no one was willing to help us. I refused the number the [redacted] gave me and insisted they cancel my membership. One of the gentlemen went in to get [redacted] who eventually came out to speak to us. He stated that, 'no one is going to cancel this for you.' He also said I should call the service number. I insisted that that number was a dead end as they referred me back to the [redacted] office, which is where we were currently standing. I asked for his name and he stated that, 'that doesn't matter.' I replied that if he wouldn't give me his name, then what he was telling me didn't matter as he wasn't even willing to give his last name. He insisted he couldn't help and if we didn't leave, he was going to call the police. I told him to do what he felt was best as I would not be deterred. It was when he called the police and gave his name that we learned his last name. While the police came, my family and I sat patiently waiting, our children included. A male and female officer arrived on the scene. [redacted] have his side and I gave my side of the story. I called the number they gave me in front of the officers to prove to them the number was in fact a dead end. It was the number to make a reservation. I was able to get in touch with a rep on the phone and expressed my wishes to cancel my membership. She expressed the same thing that the same office where [redacted], the police officers, my family and I were standing, WOULD bed able to cancel. I put the phone on speaker so the two officers could hear. The young lady on the phone expressed the same as before; that office CAN cancel; any manger can do it. Upon hearing this, the male officer stated that it didn't seem like I was being hostile. I explained that I was upset but I wasn't threatening anyone. I had my children with me. He stated that he had the feeling he's going to get more calls to the same site. He also advised me to get legal representation and that I could stand in front of the building and pass out flyers expressing my distaste for the company. I just couldn't stand in the building. I explained that I have better things to do with my time, pointing to my three children. He stated that unfortunately, he couldn't make them cancel the membership as it was a private company. I thanked him for his advise my family and I left.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: This operation is a Scam.they tell you that you have reached the final round of a sweepstakes.Only 38 people out of thousands have reached this level. You will pull a prize out of a tumbler, you will win a 2015 ford explorer/$25000.00 cash or a 32"samsung flatscreen tv which can be exchanged for a $400.00 [redacted] gift card.I asked [redacted]###-###-#### what the least prize that would be awarded.I was assured the tv/[redacted] $400.00 gift card would be the worst prize I would receive. We were told there would be no sales pitch.they just wanted to talk to us a few minutes to get word out about their company. Not so a 90 min presentation/with video/and subsequent sales pitch with salesman and supervisor was required to get prize. On completion of not purchasing a membership for $14900.00 we were given a scratchoff card with airfare to no desireable locations which you are offered all the time over the phone.I failed to mention I had my wife call one more time after the initial contact and [redacted] promised the same gift guarantee of a tv/or [redacted] gift card for $400.00would be the worst gift given out.A total waste of a day tolls gas 7am-4pm as we drove from West Babylon NY to Tarreytown for this total premeditated misrepresentation.Desired Settlement: award the least favorable prize offered a 32" Samsung flat sceen tv/or preferred $400.00 [redacted] gift card

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Their response is not true.We specically asked if this was a time share vac/type promotion and were told we were to come to the site and pull a ticket out of a hopper 1 of 38 numbers to win a 2015 ford explorer she also said the least consolation prize we would receive was a 40"samsung flat screen led tv which could be exchanged for a $400.00 gift card for [redacted].My wife was skeptical and called back to the same rep and was guaranteed the prizes stated were as detailed. The worst prize was the tv which could be exchanged for a $400.00 gift card for [redacted] this was a total misrepresentation and a scam to get us to sit thru a 90 min sales pitch.we were told from the start there would be no selling and they just wanted to meet for 5-10 min to introduce their new company to get the word out.A two hr drive to attend a scam sales pitch session with ficticious promised prizes. This company knew exactly what it was doing according to salesman they've been doing this for 40+ yrs.please advise.ps thank you for your kind consideration concerning this serious matter Sincerely [redacted]

Review: We went to hear a presentation by GDV on Saturday, Feb **. We did not know anything about this company. Now we know it is a scam. We listened for an hour about how we could go to all these resorts. [redacted], the presenter, told us many many time about the huge number of resorts that we might not see on the website, but that if we called, we could get them. We have limited means for travel. We love to golf, and [redacted] assured us that we would get affordable access to many golf resorts. He confirmed for my husband that we definitely wouldn't have a problem staying at [redacted] resort in South Carolina or the Greenbrier in West Virginia. No problem at all. We signed a lot of papers. My husband went on a business trip the next morning. When he came back we looked at the offer again and realized that we can't really use any of the options. I called to cancel. It is NOT CANCELABLE. We are stuck with this crap for life. They stole our money and refuse to return it. There are no golf resorts in our future. They took our money knowing very well that golf resorts are not an option. It was difficult for us to go on vacation before, but now they stole what little opportunity we had.Desired Settlement: Total refund.I do not want to deal with these people ever ever again

Response:

The business has responded. Please see below:The member did not contact us until 3/**/2015 in the New York office asking to cancel her member. The member purchased as they stated on Feb, ** 2014 and signed contracts allowing only a 3 day cancellation period. This Cancellation period is listed right above the member signature on the Membership Agreement. The member did contact the Corporate office on 2/**/2015 demanding to cancel the membership. She would not let the agents speak and never once gave them information about why she wanted to cancel other than she changed her mind. The agent tried to explain to the member that it was a contract and did not work that way. She said people change their minds all the time like when buying a refrigerator or a TV they would just return it. Again, our agent tried to explain the cancellation process but the member would not let them speak. The member then stated they have not tried to use the program and changed their minds and want their mon ey back. The member never tried to request a week of vacation for any location. We have done nothing wrong and there may be availability in a resort of their choosing if they had requested a timeframe and location with Global. This being said we do not just disregard any complaints or issued of our members. Our [redacted] has tried to contact the member since learning of their wishes and there was never a reason given during the phone call on the [redacted]. He is still trying to contact them member to see if there is anything we can do for them. They have yet to return our calls.

Response:

Business explanation was not correct. Nobody told us that we had only 3 days to cancel this membership and I told them exactly why I was not happy with this service. Nobody was tried to contact me about it. I called the office myself. I spoke with the [redacted] and we came to a mutually agreeable arrangement.

[redacted] To whom this may concern, We have reviewed the complaint made by [redacted]. We called and spoke to [redacted] and we helped her with her problems. We have reached a resolution with the member. We are going to lower the Membership package for the member and giving them a credit back to their card in the amount of $2490. The member had sent us an acceptance letter which I have attached to this response along with a copy of the credit to the credit card. Please let me know if there is anything further I can be of assistance with. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: We were contacted by telephone and invited to Tarrytown, NY to pick up a prize we won. We were told we won either a 2015 Ford Explorer, $25,000 in cash, 32 inch Flat screen LCD Samsung Smart TV, or 2 round trip airline tickets to be used anywhere in the continental United States. We were also told there would be a large container filled with tickets numbered 1 2 & 3. We would reach our hand into the container and pull out a ticket.

We attended the presentation, and at the end of the presentation the receptionist handed us about 10 scratch off tickets to chose one. We scratched of the ticket and were given a "Vacation Certificate"

In order to use the "Vacation Certificate", you must first register, filling out the form and mailing it with a $100 Cashiers check within 30 days. Travel must be Monday or Tuesday, give 60 days advance notice, and select two travel dates with 30 days between Travel dates. There is no indication as to what hotel you will be staying in.

This is not what we were promised. I do not believe we ever had a chance at winning the 2015 Ford Explorer or the $25,000 cash. I believe the 10 cards we were given to choose from all contained these travel vouchers.

It took us almost 2 hours to travel to the location, and almost $100 in gas & tolls.

They claim to be "better than a timeshare presentation" because they claim they do not pressure you. At least if you take a timeshare presentation, you get what they promised you to entice you to go.....

So no they are not better.

I tried calling the representative who booked this appointment for us, Jeff J[redacted], and left him several voicemail messages, then followed up with an email.... No response....

I have written confirmation to prove that a "vacation voucher" was not included in the 4 prizes I was told I already won from entering a contest.Desired Settlement: I want what my confirmation email says:

Air fare for two to any major airport in the continental US.

I would also be satisfied with 32 inch Flat Screen LCD TV

Since I feel it is extremely unfair to ask people to drive over an hour, incur tolls & gas expense, and then be lied to about the prizes... I think it would be fair to send both of the gifts listed above. I will gladly return the "Travel Voucher"ii

Review: My husband and I received an invitation for a free trip to listen to a travel presentation. While setting the appointment over the phone, I specifically asked if this was a timeshare solicitation was repeatedly told that it wasn't. We eventually booked an appointment and sat in for a presentation back in December 2013. Once we got there, we were asked to fill out a questionnaire. The questions were somewhat invasive, asking about income levels, etc. It seemed that this company targeted families that made a certain income, roughly $100K per annum. We are open minded so we decided to listen since we made the trip all the way from Queens, NY on a snowy day. The presentation sounded just like a timeshare, from what I understand it to be. It again was repeatedly denied. We kept being told this was a 'travel club'. The sales pressure was a little intense as they kept lowering and lowering the amount that we'd have to pay to sign up. The fee went from over $10K to under $5K. Ultimately, before we signed we made sure that this contract could be cancelled at any time and/or transferred if we ever changed our mind. After we satisfied our concerns, we came to an agreement and my husband and I decided to join. We were never told that there was a 3 day right of rescission and would be bound to this conntract after 3 days.

My husband and I are completely satisfied with the service/product. We haven't even been able to take advantage of the 'free' 3 day hotel stay and 'free' airline voucher. We've had to send in the vouchers with a small fee of $4.95. Then we received another email stateing we needed to choose our desired travel dates, no sooner than 30 days out in order to use the airline/ hotel voucher WITH AN ADDITIONAL $50 money order. This is NOT what I call free. There are so many loopholes to jump through, we just gave up.

After several attempts, I got in touch with member service and expressed my wish to cancel on 07/**/2014. I got the impression that there was a way to cancel, but I kept getting passed around from person to person. I was told to call the Corporate Office and speak to [redacted]. He was out of the office due to his girlfriend having their baby and had to get a cesarian section, which I can understand. The young lady named [redacted] who took my call offered to help in his absence. When I expressed the nature of my call, I was again told I have to speak to someone else. I called the wrong office. I did ask on one or two occasion if I was able to cancel this service and it was implied that I could, only [redacted] from Corporate or the [redacted] in the [redacted] office, where I signed up could do it. I proceeded to call the [redacted] office again and left a message with [redacted]. She stated the office had just opened up (at 3pm) and [redacted] of Compliance would call me back in an hour. Lori did call me back and told me that the service could not be cancelled and was told that I should call the office for booking since my original complaint was a booking issue. I asked her why I would call to book with them when I want to cancel my service. I expressed several times my wishes and her only solution was to call booking. My wishes were completely disregarded and after I insisted I wanted to cancel, she suggested I call the Corporate Office, which tells me that this CAN be cancelled.

Since December, I have been providing moral support to my sister during yet another one of my nephew's surgery. My nephew is has been paraplegic since birth and was scheduled for another surgery within this time.

We are looking to cancel this product/service. We want NOTHING to do with this service/product. We were misled from day one. We have never been able to use this service as we've always been able to find a cheaper alternative for our travel needs. Since Dec, 2013, we have traveled once or twice, booking with another service/carrier.Desired Settlement: We are looking to cancel this product/service. We want NOTHING to do with this service/product. We were misled from day one.

Review: I was called and informed that I was one of only 50 people who made it to the final round in a contest to win either a ford explorer, $25,000, a TV, or airfare for two. I was informed that each of the fifty people would win one of these. According to the caller in order to claim this prize we had to sit through a presentation and then draw a ticket which would have one of these prizes on it. I was informed that one of the fifty would definitely win the car and another the money, the remainder would either get a TV or airfare. I was also told that each of the fifty people would receive a $50.00 gift certificate. My husband and I decided that it was worth a few hours of our time to drive to Tarrytown to have a one in 50 chance for either the money or car...plus the $50.00 gift certificate. After sitting through a hard sell presentation both on video and two salespeople we collected our prizes. one was 50 dining dough, which once we signed up for [redacted] account, allowed us a credit of $50.00 off a restaurant ill of$100.00 or more for limited restaurants in our area. This was not what we were led to believe we would be receiving for our time and effort. Even more deceptive was the ticket for the drawing which we were allotted. It turned out to be a scratch card for a promotion that would end after 10,000 cards were distributed. This is VERY different from one out of 50. We ended up "winning" the vacation certificate, but would not be able to receive our prize until we sent in a completed form and a cashier's check for $100.00. Once that was received by the validation center, they would send us a booklet of places to choose from. We did not do that...so we don't know what would happen after that. My complaint is that we were lied to about the odds of winning the large prizes and the small prizes were not as descried...in fact we have to pay to receive the choices for destinations.Desired Settlement: That the promised goods be awarded.
