Fanan Motorcars Reviews (23)

Lie through their teeth. Test drove a car, agreed on a price and applied for a loan through my bank. Informed them I was approved and asked to leave a down payment to secure the vehicle until loan check arrived in the mail. Was assured that this was not necessary, told that the vehicle was promised to me. I called each day for the next two days to confirm that the vehicle was mine and no deposit was needed, only to call the third day to let them know the check had arrived and was on my way in that the car had been sold. Stay away, they lie, lie, lie.

Review: We went to Fanan Motor Cars in Locust Grove VA to purchase a truck that they had listed online for sale. First it took them 3 days before they even bothered to run our credit to purchase the truck after we put in the application. After making an appointment on a Friday night to go up and sign the papers and pick up the truck, we drove for over an hour to go sign the papers, just to find out that the truck was not ready. The sales person we were dealing with told us they would give a $100 because of making the trip when we didn’t have to. No one notified us that the truck was not ready. We even had our own license plates to put on the truck and told the sales person this.

We had told the sales person when we spoke with them on the phone not to worry about changing the spark plugs that we would take care of it and instead they attempted to have their so called mechanics change them, hence breaking the spark plug off in the engine. In this truck you have to be especially familiar with Ford Trucks and have special tools to work on them. Two weeks later we finally got a call again on a Friday evening with the sales person telling us “we can’t fix the truck, best thing I can tell you is to come get it”. This being said, we got a flatbed wrecker ($200 dollars) drove over an hour to get the truck, during all this, I was on the phone with the sales person who stated that “they would put the spark plugs in the front seat of the truck since they had already started on them along with a check for $400 to help cover repairs.” The sales person also had me sign additional forms stating that we were removing the truck from their lot. At this time they put 30 day tags on the truck instead of having our vehicle plates transferred (costing additional monies) During our conversations, the dealership, attempted to void the warranty (a 30 day, 1000 mile warranty) because someone other than their dealership would be working on the truck to remove the broken plugs. As we all knoDesired Settlement: We would like the funds of the Partial price which should be $425 sent to us at our home address, overnighted so that we can have the repairs completed. As a last resort, we will accept the unfair pricing of $300 that they offered than retracted.

Response:

In regards to [redacted] and the complaint. [redacted]

purchased the [redacted] with full disclosure of an existing problem which we were in

the process of diagnosing. He agreed to take the truck the way it was with confidence

that him or his mechanic would be able to fix it. Shortly after he proclaimed that

the problem was bigger than he thought so we gave him two option. Wither bring

the truck back for a full refund or accept $400, which we sent a check to him

and he cashed, as a compromise with he accepted.

Regards,

Horrible! My husband and I purchased a car here. We had to wait all day after being told to come baxk the night before. Didn't end up getting the car we wanted. Then we were told there was nothing wrong with the one we got, come to find out it has extensive internal transmission failure!
