I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have...

determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
We contacted the main office and they referred us to the sales person. The sales person claimed to be out of phone contact for 10 days. When we finally were able to talk to him 11/16 he agreed to refund half the purchase price and replace the defective items. However, he has left the state and will not return until Dec. 2. This appears to be another delaying tactic.
We have not received a refund and the issue is unresolved.

Review: I have repeatedly asked this company to stop harassing me yet they keep sending employees to my house. I am being harassed by the Portland Oregon location and when I called the customer service number (the only number given is an 888 number)the guy who answered the phone laughed . I asked for his supervisor he said he was the supervisor and that I would Not be talking to anyone but him.Desired Settlement: This is a predatory company and they need to be fined or put out of business

Review: Pseudo-abstract: My 2.5 year old daughter and I contracted food poisoning from their hamburgers.

This complaint is going to detail the ugly side of rare occurrences that happen in the food industry, and more importantly Farm Fresh Foods' willingness to make things right. On Friday, November 15, 2013, I purchased a box of Hamburgers from the representative who came to my door. I was not ready to make a full investment of more than that until I researched the company and tried a product that would be a routine buy for me, if things went well. Unfortunately, this is the first and last product I will buy from them, as the hamburgers gave my 2.5 year old daughter and me severe food poisoning. On that Friday evening, I cooked one of the hamburgers for my daughter who was excited to have one after the delivery driver left. About ten hours later, at roughly 4:30am, she awoke and experienced a lot of vomiting. Through the day (Saturday), she was very lethargic, had frequent vomiting sessions every 30-45 minutes, had a "hurt tummy", and did not have a fever. I was not sure if this was because of the hamburger or an illness that may be going around, so I made myself one of the hamburgers on Sunday for lunch as a test case. The hamburger was the only thing that I ate, and low-and-behold, five hours later (before eating anything else) I started to feel queasy. Within two more hours I had started vomiting as well, and within the next four hours I had experienced a more violent series of vomiting than I ever had in my 32 years. This of course was mixed with other severe symptoms that go with gastroenteritis caused by foodborne illness, which I'll spare you the graphic details. After ten more hours of less severe symptoms (my body had already evacuated every possible bit of substance by this time), I only had to endure residu** symptoms until the following day (Tuesday). This episode caused not only my 2.5 year old daughter to contract food poisoning, which can be very worrying for a parent when meat products are involved (salmonella, e-coli, etc), but also caused me to miss a day of productivity at the office (Monday).

Upon calling Farm Fresh Foods' customer service, [redacted] informed me that he had never heard of their products causing food poisoning before except for one time (which I stated was normal, as most companies only receive word of this on rare occasions), which the person had allegedly admitted to not knowing how to cook the product. [redacted] then offered their standard company policy to me, which is to replace any uneaten product. I asked [redacted] if he feels the company policy is enough and adequate in this situation, and he said that in speaking for the company, it was. The money that I paid for the hamburgers is a very small investment of which I'm not worried about recovering, but more-so I'm worried that the company has absolutely no desire to make right the medic** pain and discomfort that my daughter and I experienced by ingesting their product, other than offering their standard exchange for uneaten product. In essence, that means that they feel I should still be responsible in paying for the product that caused the illnesses, but that they would replace the rest (I’m sure this is because they in turn can then return that product to their vendor for a full credit, which allows them to never experience a loss in any revenue). I did not ask S** for a refund (though that and an apology for their product is what I was hoping to hear) or for anything in terms of a replacement or out-of-the-norm occurrence, and simply wanted to find out to what degree the company stands behind their products, and even more important how they rectify problems where people are made sick because of such products. As I mentioned above, I'm sure this type of situation is a rare occurrence, however is one that in every situation facilitates an above-and-beyond apologetic response and a willingness to extend the limit of what will be offered beyond a standard procedure. Unfortunately Farm Fresh Foods failed in this aspect, and I feel it appropriate to let others know in an attempt to better educate them on making their prospective purchases.Desired Settlement: A verbal (to me) as well as public apology here, accompanied by a full refund for the product I purchased and an earnest attempt to modify their current company policy. The new policy should go beyond the standard exchange for uneaten product, when foodborne illness is involved where the product was properly prepared, and offer a full refund if desired along with a written apology that shows they are sincerely sorry for the issue(s) experienced. Food poisoning can be quite serious (especially in children), and Farm Fresh Foods needs to understand the pain that people go through when experiencing this illness.

Review: Employee came around our block selling meat out of his work truck, which in fact never had a price labeled on any of the boxes or items, how much the meat was per pound. When I purchased the order of $349, I was never given a receipt. It was only until I filed a complaint with Fresno County Weights and Measures Department that I had found out that they had broken the law. They are to put a price on all their meat per pound, otherwise the customer doesn't know how much he is paying for each item per pound. When I immediately stopped payment on my check, I was called back by their Supervisor [redacted] and in a very rude, harsh tone, was told I was going to have to pay them back a $20 cancellation fee. I told him I had already filed a complaint and to come and pick up all their merchandise. The employee, [redacted], also never gave me a receipt. Another employee came the next day and picked up all the meat and fish. I am asking for a $20 refund from their store because my bank charged me $20 to stop payment on the check.Desired Settlement: I would like a check made out to me ASAP from their company for $20.

Business

Regards,

I would like to know what exempts Farm fresh form B&P code 12024.55 Door to Door salespersons: price statement on packages? The price per pound shall be separately and accurately stated and shall be preceded by the words "price per pound" on each principal display panel of the package, as the term "principal display panel" is defined by regulations of the director adopted pursuant to section 12610. Why is it Farm Fresh sells it meat by the peice per customer serivice representative [redacted].

Being a licenced weights and measure inspector with California Department of Food and Agriculture, I would like to know the answer.

Business

Response:

farm fresh foods is not exempt from B&p code 12024.55, farm fresh foods does have stamps with price per pound displayed on each principle display panel of all packages we sell.

Review: Farm Fresh foods misrepresented the meat product they sold us and did not honor their commitment to pick the meat products up and reimburse our account. The young man who came to the door explained they had deliveries in Arrowhead and wanted to sell what they had left. I explained I only ate organic meat and he said it was grass fed. My husband was assured it was organic. After they left I checked the Farm Fresh foods Web site and it stated, grain fed. I called within the hour I received the product to have them return to pick up the meat. December 15, 2014 @ 5:24 PM. I spoke with their customer service, [redacted], who said the manager could speak to me the next day. I called on Dec.16 at 9:50, spoke with the manager, [redacted] who assured me that since I called during the 3 days cancellation time that he would have the meat picked up. [redacted] said he would get back with me. I kept calling asking for a date to have the meat picked up, December 18, 20,22,23 (4x) and again on the 30th. I even offered to return the frozen meat to them if they would let me know where we could meet. I continued to get the run around stating that the owner, [redacted],would be up pick it up. They have misled me and often just hung up on me as soon as I gave them my name. This company owes me $220.00 and they should be honoring their commitments as well as training their drivers to tell the truth. This business is not ethical and misrepresenting itself.Desired Settlement: $220.00 refund

Review: On June 25th 2013, a representitive from Farm Fresh Foods Inc. came to our residence in Astoria, Or and asked us if we would like to purchase some product from their company. We informed the representitive that we could not make any purchases until July 5th 2013. The driver went on to beg us to make the purchase so he would not have to return the product to the warehouse and he could make us a good deal on the product. We again explained to him that he could come back on July 5th and we would be more than happy to purchase it then. He stated that we could post date the check for July 5th and that he wouldn't deposit the check until that date. This was done in good faith with him being the representative of this company. We recieve notification on June 27th 2013, that the check had been deposited and fees assertained to the account. We attempted to rectify this through the self proclaimed owner of the company. This was not only not rectified in a satisfactory manner but we were also treated rudely and very unprofessionally by this manager who's name is [redacted]. [redacted] also refused to disclosed the address and phone number to the corporate office so that we could pursue alternate avenues of reclamation and restitution.Desired Settlement: We were charged a $35.00 fee from our bank and a $25.00 fee from Farm Fresh as a result of the unscrupulous practices of this company and their representatives. We also want an apology from [redacted] at Farm Fresh Foods for his disrespectful, arrogant, rude treatment of myself and my wife.

Review: On April 28th my husband purchased a chicken package from a delivery truck driver. We had our wires crossed and it is not something that we wanted to purchase. I called the 800 number on May 1st to inquire how to get our money back. We were well within the 3 day time frame. The young lady I spoke said that someone would be contacting me in 24 hours to discuss our options. My husband called the same 800 number a few minutes later to verify that someone would be calling us back and we would get a refund. They responded yes, somebody would call us Monday (May 4) and we would receive a refund and to not use any of the chicken in the freezer. We did not use any of the chicken and nobody called us back. Since then I have emailed the "info" email address, placed another call to customer service, and emailed the "owner" email address. There has been no response to either email and nobody called back within the stated 24 hours. We would like our money back. We have a freezer full of chicken that we do not plan on eating and would like the $189 that we paid refunded. The lack of response from customer service is very, very frustrating.Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like somebody to come and get the chicken and to be refunded the $189 that was paid.

Review: We purchased meat on 9/19/13 from a door to door salesman who stated it was his last sale of the day an.d would give us an extremely good deal. We asked about the quality of the product and return policy. I went on the internet the following morning and discovered that that is the sales pitch they give to everyone and that they misrepresent the product. We immediately put stop payment on the check and sent a certified letter stating we did not want the product and to come pick it up. No response. My husband has called the co. 3 times since then and no aaction. The last call was in Nov. and they said they would get ahold of the driver and have him pick up the meat. It's Jan. and still no action. We just want the meat taken care of.Desired Settlement: Want them to pick up the meat. It is all here.

Review: I purchased $188.00 worth of beef from a door to door salesman who told us the meat was "grass fed" and pressured me into buying the product. When I sampled it after the purchase, the quality was extremely poor and I realized it was not grass fed or edible so the salesman misrepresented what the product was. I have tried numerous times to contact their customer service and have not been able to get a refund or exchange for a product that is either edible or not filled with hormones. Customer service was been in a word-useless.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to remove the poor quality beef from my freezer, to learn to stand by their products, to learn some basic customer service skills, to educate their salespeople on the products they are selling so they stop committing fraud telling people the meat is grass fed when it is not and for a full refund.

Regards,

I am not satisfied with their response. They completely failed to address the fact that the salesman lied to me when he told me the beef was "grass fed." It is not and I would never have purchased it if he did not tell me that. Also, I have tried numerous times to contact customer service to resolve this issue and have not been able to secure even an exchange, let alone a refund.

Review: Foolishly, my wife and I purchased product (order #[redacted]), meat & fish, from a vendor selling out of the back of his truck. The price seemed fair, the sales pitch logical, and it came with a written guarantee. The meat was tough, full of gristle, and the fish had the texture and taste of something flash frozen multiple times. Following up on the "guarantee", I called the company, was told the person I needed to talk to was in a meeting and would call me back. That didn't happen so I went to their web sight to file a written complaint only to find they have no link to contact them unless you want to apply for work. Other than social media, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I have no recourse but to file with the Revdex.com, and hope you can bring them to task. Their products are of extremely poor quality, and I hope you can help prevent others from making the same mistake we did. Thanks in advance for your support.

Product_Or_Service: Meat & Fish

Order_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Replacement

Their "guarantee" does not offer a refund, only replacement. If the replacement is as bad as the original product, that is not much of a settlement, but at least we would have the satisfaction of not being ignore by "rip off" vendors.

Review: The food quality was absolutely horrible and not anything near what sales associate described. Its basically mystery meat. However the packaging is very misleading relative to the quality of the actual product. I BBQ'd each of their products and all of them were terrible so this was not one bad piece of meat it was across the board. The meat is fatty and has a very strange and repugnant flavor. The sales person stated there was a money back guarantee if I didn't like the product, but it turns out there wasn't. After speaking to a incredibly rude condescending Customer Service Manager named Blake, who told me and I quote "you sound like a thrifty shopper from Walmart" because I complained that I wasted $125 on terrible meat. At this point he refused to provide me a refund and said I can give you more meat if you like. I told him I don't want more of your terrible product but wanted to send back what I have and would like a full refund as the driver [redacted] stated I could do.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund and am more than happy to give the product back.

Review: Purchased 6 boxes of meat from Farm Fresh Foods from driver [redacted] who assured me the product was fully guaranteed for 1 year. Have tried 3 different packages of the product and ALL were tough and full of gristle. Called the 800 number and spoke to Blake who informed me that I was not entitled to a refund due to "Company Policy" and that the only remedy of the problem was to replace the product. After several minutes of discussion, I asked to speak to his manager and was informed that he WAS the boss. He stated that he handles ALL complaints, works 7AM to 7PM seven days a week and was indeed the oracle on such matters and refused any further information. I asked for the name of his boss, but apparently he answers to no one. I asked if he was the president and he then volunteered to give my name and number to his boss but was told NOT to expect a return call from that person. Indeed he was correct - no return call! This company apparently has never heard the term "customer service."Desired Settlement: I see no point in replacing the product due to the quality of meat. This is an inferior product!

Review: I had a meat seller knock on my door stating that my neighbor just bought some steaks and he had some left did I want to see them. I said ok but when he brought them in there was far to many for me to buy and was told he could break them up and sell me what I wanted. I felt pressured some but the guy was fast with sales and friendliness. He stated the meats were premium grass feed free range, guaranteed best steaks. I bought 8 filets and 6 sirloins and 2 lb shrimp for $120.00. I cook often so I ask again if they were good and was assured these were the best and had a one year freshness guarantee. I decided to cook the filet that night and grilled a couple of shrimp with the filet. The shrimp are so salty they are not fit to eat and the filet shrunk to half its size at medium and was to tough to eat and enjoy.Desired Settlement: I have placed a cancel on the check I used to pay for this scam. I would like that to be honored and for someone to come and get this nasty food. I would also like the $25.00 fee for my canceled check.

I purchased a package of steaks from this company with the guarantee that they were great and would be refunded if we did not like them. They were terrible.... We only cooked 5 and will not cook the rest. I have called 4 times and no one has yet to return my call to resolve this. The person "[redacted]" says he can't help me.

Review: We purchased a bulk amount of meat (steaks, burgers and sirloins), the representative assured us that the meat met or exceeded FDA requirements. We purchased the meat Oct. 24th and tried it Friday Oct. 25th, the meat was horrible quality and lacked what was promised. That Saturday we contacted the selling rep and he advised us that we would not have any issues getting our money back but that we would have to call the number on the broucher Monday, Oct. 28th.We called Farm Fresh Foods and have had nothing but the run around. They will not refund our money in lei of UN-used meat and they keep promising to replace the meat with better quality(which was promised form initial purchase) and they keep putting the exchange off day after day. It will be now a week and zero results. They are selling inferior meat for outrageous amount of money, they took advantage of our age and our willingness to be trust worthy of the salesman.Desired Settlement: We would like our money back in cash, they already cashed our check. We do not trust a check from this company, unless it is in form of a cashiers check, which is the same as cash.
