Ferguson General Contracting Reviews (24)

We recently went with Ferguson General Contracting to finish our third floor from a completely unfinished attic to a second master bedroom with full bath and wacloset Ryan Ferguson impressed us from the start with his responsiveness, knowledge (he knew county code inside and out), and creativity in helping us design the best space possible He provided a quote for the work in a matter of a day or two after working up the full design and clearly detailed the process, materials, quality and price we could expectThe price was very reasonable and now having seen the finished product, we are very pleased with our decision to use FGCHe actually came in under budget so we decided to use part of our buicredit to install a large granite countertop in our original master bathHe juggled our additional work with easeHis team was courteous and skilledHis use of Google Calendars to deliver the daily work schedule right to your phone was very handy as well Renovations are intrusive by nature, but Ryan and his team did a nice job of limiting the inconveniences and delivering a final product with which we are extremely pleased

Dear [redacted] :Thanks and appreciated for looking into and helping us with this complain. This is in response to your letter dated 2/9/regarding my complaint ID [redacted] I am contacting you because I reject MrF [redacted] 's reply because incorrect statements and that very little progress is made since we filed the complainFirst of all, after I filed the complaint with the Revdex.com, my wife and I met Ryan F [redacted] to negotiate and he requested for more time to complete the work and gave us a schedule (copy attached) which showed the work being completed by February 5thHowever, on that date, our work was still not complete, for which he cited snow as the reason and we understoodThus, we gave him an additional week, asking for our work to be completed on February 12thOn that date, most of our work was still not completedNow, we have given him another extension till the 23rd of February to hand us our completed houseI believe his company works very few hours and that too not every day because every time me or one of my family members visits the house, there is no one working thereThis is most likely the reason the work is progressing at a very slow paceAs far as MrF [redacted] 's reply is concerned, it is full of incorrect statementsFirst of all, every time he sent me, my wife, or my daughter a message, we were quick to replyWhenever he called us, we picked up or called backIn fact, we messaged him and called him endlessly, many times with no answerWe have proof of this in our group iMessageAnother inccorrect claim was the fact that I didn't meet MrF [redacted] till the contract was executedI met him at the really beginning in my home to discuss the workAfter that, he met mostly with my wife and daughter, because I am usually very busyWhen we first met, my wife told him that she wanted to get rid of the tubs and add showers and he showed us clear understanding of thisHowever in the contract, he used the words "tile shower surrounds" which because we are not too familiar with contracting terminology and because we were under the impression he understood the work, we thought meant thisBut now, MrF [redacted] has told us he cannot remove the tubs and we agreed, so that aspect doesn't even matter reallyAbout payments: I paid half of the contract amount $ [redacted] ** on Aug 5, and as per contract Next 40% was due on final inspection, but he demanded more money in mid Oct on the pretext of slight change in the tub to shower confusion, but to that point he had not done much work, however, we still gave him another $ [redacted] on Oct 16th, for a total of [redacted] in spite of the fact that minimal work was done and still nothing was done from that point onward till we submitted our complain to Revdex.com Per original contract the work was supposed to be completed on or before Oct 30th and it is now Feb 15th with may be 1/3rd of the work done We don't accept MrF [redacted] 's reply because the reasoning he gave is not correct and we have suffered because of this huge delayWe closed the house on July 24th, 2015, went into contract with him on Aug 05, and we are here months later and still we may have 1/3rd of the work done We haven't been able to live in our house but have been paying the mortgage and double bills for both the houses in addition to the mental torture because of all this and time spent for conversation again and again He did offer credit amount because of all these delays including mortgage payment, and we appreciated it It will not cover all the losses but will help, but at the same time we want that the work should now be completed so we can move and be able to sell our current house or put it for rent In the past week we have seen some work done but it is done in such a slow pace that I am concerned about completion His actions do not match the wordsWe are hoping that he will finish the work by Feb 23rd and we will let you know immediately if that happens, but from his previous broken promises time after time, we are very worried Our current house is expected to generate $ [redacted] per month and you can do the math from Nov 1st to now + double billingWe have nothing against MrF [redacted] except that he finish the work as promised , but he has been taken this long to do itEven after the complaint he barely did any work till the past weekMy complain will stay till we get satisfactory completion of all the work, hopefully by Feb 23rd I have told MrF [redacted] also about this I also suggested ways to move work faster since there is different type of works and he can put different persons to finish it faster But it seems like he is not doing it Just example of these past days, whenever any of my family member went there was no body working and when contacted him he said they just left, but there was no progress in the work noted If he would have worked, the amount of work is such that it would have finished long time ago.We appreciate your help, if you can make him finish the job till Feb 23rd, so we can move into the house.SincerelyThanks for your help

We decided to go with Ferguson for a 3rd floor renovation project in our home after meeting with Ryan, and we are very pleased with the decision and resultsRyan does a great job of walking through the process from start to finish, and offers great advice along the wayCommunication was great and he was very flexible and helpful with us when changes were requestedI would highly recommend Ferguson for any renovation project you might needHis team is very respectful of your home and you will definitely be pleased with the end product, and working with Ryan made the process easy and stress free

Great follow through on commitments and contractor provided quality workmanship

All of the associates at Ferguson GC were professional, competent, and exceptionally courteous [redacted] worked hard to get the project completely fast and timely as well as going above and beyond to fulfill some arequests During pricing and contracting, he was honest about what he could do for me verses what would be better to get through a large retailer This honesty was impressive and shows his integrity as a leading provider in his profession [redacted] and his team were also very flexible and interested in getting the job done the way I wanted it They never hesitated to change something that didn’t seem right to me It was a pleasure to work with Ferguson GC and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get a job done well and reasonably priced They are definitely a team you can trust

The statements made in Mr***'s response are inaccurate I have always made myself available; nights, weekends, etcto try and work through this project successfully with the ***s As I addressed in my first response, there have been numerous occasions where I have gone days with no reply I have attached multiple screen captures of text messages proving my response time and the delay in theirs What Mr [redacted] needs to understand is that when this happens, I have to pull off my team and go to other jobs Also, when I do finally get a response, my schedule does not allow me to instantly bring the team back Regarding when I first met with Mr***, he is correct I did meet with him one time prior to contract It was very brief and I didn't recall that in my first response, I apologize Regarding, the tub situation, it was very clear that the tubs were to remain I know this because not only is it in the contract, we also talked about the conditions of the tubs and the possibility of re-glazing them upon completion Regarding the funds, it was very clear what I was requesting and I have attached all documentation proving this Never was this a "demand" nor did I ever threaten to stop work We have bent over backwards trying to accommodate the ***s throughout this project Whenever I meet with Mrs [redacted] or their daughter, there is almost always something requested that is not in the contract There have also been many other issues that have caused delay that have not been from contractor neglect Some of these issues include the utilities being cut off at the house while working, not enough material provided that was specified in the contract as "homeowner to provide", and the client makin their selections from a website when I specifically gave them vendors to meet with in design centers This resulted in selections of material that were not compatible with the project I feel that we have been more than fair trying to accommodate the ***s On February 1, I sent Mr [redacted] an Amendment that we discussed over the phone I know the Amendment was received because it was sent via DocuSign and I can see when it is viewed I have attached a copy of the Amendment It set a new completion date as well as offered almost a $10,credit To this day, the Amendment still has not been signed, however, we've continued to work in an effort to meet their satisfaction At this point, given that I have provided all documents supporting my argument, I do not wish to proceed with any more work until I can meet with the entire [redacted] family onsite, we review the contract and scope of work again, review all materials required to complete the job, agree on compensation, and set a new completion date I expect all of this to be documented in writing at this meeting, and signed and agreed upon by both parties Again, our full intent has been and still is to satisfy the ***s and provide an excellent product Given the complaints, accusations, and miscommunication, it is now obvious that this will be a challenge

[redacted]  was an absolute pleasure to deal withHe was timely, professional and always responsive to our questions and our needsWe engaged him to do some work on our investment property and he treated it like it was his ownHe made sure that we were pleased with the work each step of the way and that the job performed exceeded our expectations (which it did)The fees charged were also extremely reasonableWe will definitely be using this company again

Ryan from the business contacted Revdex.com regarding this caseAt this time the business has spoken with the customer, an understanding has been met to get this job back on the correct track and they are set to finishThe customer spoke with the business and has acknowledged this progress

I am sorry to hear of this complaint and will try to address it as accurately as possible. I was first contacted about this job by Mrs*** *** and her daughter. There were a lot of negotiations that took place between the original bid and what ended
up being in the scope of work on the executed contract. Multiple revisions were made to such documents which included changes to the scope of work, payment schedule, allowances, etc. When we finally agreed to terms, I then met Mr*** *** for the first time and we executed the contract. Once we started the work, we soon discovered items that were specifically qualified in the scope of work were different from what they expected. An example is "Install new plumbing for (1) toilet, (1) 3'x5' shower, and (1) bath vanity" and "Install tile shower surrounds in (2) bathrooms above tub and incorporate homeowner provided tile mural”. Mrs*** pointed out that she wanted us to demo the (2) existing tubs and change them into showers, as well as change an additional tub/shower in the basement to a shower. At this point, it was obvious that there were many communication errors, and I contacted Mr*** because I wanted to get everyone on the same page. Per a phone conversation, I explained to him that after reviewing the contract, I would agree to changing some of the items in the scope of work to try and satisfy their requests. I also noted that the payment schedule needed to be changed in order to make this happen, because I would be ordering new materials, etc. I did not demand money, nor did I ever say I couldn’t move forward without it, and the additional funds that we agreed upon came out of the original contract amount. To reiterate, this was NOT a demand for extra money; it was simply a compromise in the payment schedule to try and accommodate their bathroom requests. We have had communication issues throughout most of this project but I feel that I have always been flexible working with the client. I understood that the project was taking longer than expected and even offered to discount some items to help cover the additional costs the client was incurring due to the delays. I do not, however, feel it is fair that a complaint was filed, as many of the delays were not due to contractor neglect. There have been many instances where I needed specific questions answered in order to move forward and I was not able to reach the client for days at times. We have communicated via phone, email, and text. Through iMessage, I am able to see when my text has been read, and there were multiple times that the message was not read for 2-days. When I noticed this, I would follow up with calls that sometimes went straight to voicemail. I have no hard feelings towards the ***’s and we are working diligently to complete their project. I have even tried to issue an Amendment specifying a credit amount and new completion dates. This has yet to be signed and is another of the reason why I’m very disheartened about the complaint. I understand Mr*** is a busy man, but I need other family members to be reachable to successfully finish this project, which we have every intention of doing to their satisfaction. I hope once it’s complete, this complaint can be resolved in a professional manner. According to our feedback and reviews on not only Revdex.com, but also many other applicable sites, you will notice that this is the only complaint or negative feedback we have ever received, so needless to say it came as a shock

Dear [redacted]:Thanks and appreciated for looking into and helping us with this complain. This is in response to your letter dated 2/9/2016 regarding my complaint ID [redacted]. I am contacting you because I reject Mr. F[redacted]'s reply because incorrect statements and that very little progress is made since we filed the complain. First of all, after I filed the complaint with the Revdex.com, my wife and I met Ryan F[redacted] to negotiate and he requested for more time to complete the work and gave us a schedule (copy attached) which showed the work being completed by February 5th. However, on that date, our work was still not complete, for which he cited snow as the reason and we understood. Thus, we gave him an additional week, asking for our work to be completed on February 12th. On that date, most of our work was still not completed. Now, we have given him another extension till the 23rd of February to hand us our completed house. I believe his company works very few hours and that too not every day because every time me or one of my family members visits the house, there is no one working there. This is most likely the reason the work is progressing at a very slow pace. As far as Mr. F[redacted]'s reply is concerned, it is full of incorrect statements. 1. First of all, every time he sent me, my wife, or my daughter a message, we were quick to reply. Whenever he called us, we picked up or called back. In fact, we messaged him and called him endlessly, many times with no answer. We have proof of this in our group iMessage. 2. Another inccorrect claim was the fact that I didn't meet Mr. F[redacted] till the contract was executed. I met him at the really beginning in my home to discuss the work. After that, he met mostly with my wife and daughter, because I am usually very busy. 3. When we first met, my wife told him that she wanted to get rid of the tubs and add showers and he showed us clear understanding of this. However in the contract, he used the words "tile shower surrounds" which because we are not too familiar with contracting terminology and because we were under the impression he understood the work, we thought meant this. But now, Mr. F[redacted] has told us he cannot remove the tubs and we agreed, so that aspect doesn't even matter really. 4. About payments:  I paid half of the contract amount $ [redacted] on Aug 5, 2015 and as per contract.  Next 40% was due on final inspection, but he demanded more money in mid Oct 2015 on the pretext of slight change in the tub to shower confusion, but to that point he had not done much work, however, we still gave him another $ [redacted] on Oct 16th, 2015 for a total of [redacted] in spite of the fact that minimal work was done and still nothing was done from that point onward till we submitted our complain to  Revdex.com.  Per original contract the work was supposed to be completed on or before Oct 30th 2015 and it is now Feb 15th with may be 1/3rd of the work done.  We don't accept Mr. F[redacted]'s reply because the reasoning he gave is not correct and we have suffered because of this huge delay. We closed the house on July 24th, 2015, went into contract with him on Aug 05, 2015 and we are here 6 months later and still we may have 1/3rd of the work done.  We haven't been able to live in our house but have been paying the mortgage and double bills for both the houses in addition to the mental torture because of all this and time spent for conversation again and again.  He did offer credit amount because of all these delays including mortgage payment, and we appreciated it.  It will not cover all the losses but will help, but at the same time we want that the work should now be completed so we can move and be able to sell our current house or put it for rent.  In the past week we have seen some work done but it is done in such a slow pace that I am concerned about completion.  His actions do not match the words. We are hoping that  he will finish the work by Feb 23rd and we will let you know immediately if that happens, but from his previous broken promises time after time, we are very worried.  Our current house is expected to generate $ [redacted] per month and you can do the math from Nov 1st to now + double billing. We have nothing against Mr. F[redacted] except that he finish the work as promised , but he has been taken this long to do it. Even after the complaint he barely did any work till the past week. My complain will stay till we get satisfactory completion of all the work, hopefully by Feb 23rd.  I have told Mr. F[redacted] also about this.  I also suggested ways to move work faster since there is different type of works and he can put different persons to finish it faster.  But it seems like he is not doing it.  Just example of these past 2 days, whenever any of my family member went there was no body working and when contacted him he said they just left, but there was no progress in the work noted.  If he would have worked, the amount of work is such that it would have finished long time ago.We appreciate your help, if you can make him finish the job till Feb 23rd, so we can move into the house.SincerelyThanks for your help

The statements made in Mr. [redacted]'s response are inaccurate.  I have always made myself available; nights, weekends, etc. to try and work through this project successfully with the [redacted]s.  As I addressed in my first response, there have been numerous occasions where I have gone days with no reply.  I have attached multiple screen captures of text messages proving my response time and the delay in theirs.  What Mr. [redacted] needs to understand is that when this happens, I have to pull off my team and go to other jobs.  Also, when I do finally get a response, my schedule does not allow me to instantly bring the team back.  Regarding when I first met with Mr. [redacted], he is correct.  I did meet with him one time prior to contract.  It was very brief and I didn't recall that in my first response, I apologize.  Regarding, the tub situation, it was very clear that the tubs were to remain.  I know this because not only is it in the contract, we also talked about the conditions of the tubs and the possibility of re-glazing them upon completion.  Regarding the funds, it was very clear what I was requesting and I have attached all documentation proving this.  Never was this a "demand" nor did I ever threaten to stop work.  We have bent over backwards trying to accommodate the [redacted]s throughout this project.  Whenever I meet with Mrs. [redacted] or their daughter, there is almost always something requested that is not in the contract.  There have also been many other issues that have caused delay that have not been from contractor neglect.  Some of these issues include the utilities being cut off at the house while working, not enough material provided that was specified in the contract as "homeowner to provide", and the client makin their selections from a website when I specifically gave them vendors to meet with in design centers.  This resulted in selections of material that were not compatible with the project.  I feel that we have been more than fair trying to accommodate the [redacted]s.  On February 1, I sent Mr. [redacted] an Amendment that we discussed over the phone.  I know the Amendment was received because it was sent via DocuSign and I can see when it is viewed.  I have attached a copy of the Amendment.  It set a new completion date as well as offered almost a $10,000.00 credit.  To this day, the Amendment still has not been signed, however, we've continued to work in an effort to meet their satisfaction.  At this point, given that I have provided all documents supporting my argument, I do not wish to proceed with any more work until I can meet with the entire [redacted] family onsite, we review the contract and scope of work again, review all materials required to complete the job, agree on compensation, and set a new completion date.  I expect all of this to be documented in writing at this meeting, and signed and agreed upon by both parties.  Again, our full intent has been and still is to satisfy the [redacted]s and provide an excellent product.  Given the complaints, accusations, and miscommunication, it is now obvious that this will be a challenge.

We recently went with Ferguson General Contracting to finish our third floor from a completely unfinished attic to a second master bedroom with full bath and walk-in closet. Ryan Ferguson impressed us from the start with his responsiveness, knowledge (he knew county code inside and out), and creativity in helping us design the best space possible. He provided a quote for the work in a matter of a day or two after working up the full design and clearly detailed the process, materials, quality and price we could expect. The price was very reasonable and now having seen the finished product, we are very pleased with our decision to use FGC. He actually came in under budget so we decided to use part of our built-up credit to install a large granite countertop in our original master bath. He juggled our additional work with ease. His team was courteous and skilled. His use of Google Calendars to deliver the daily work schedule right to your phone was very handy as well. Renovations are intrusive by nature, but Ryan and his team did a nice job of limiting the inconveniences and delivering a final product with which we are extremely pleased.

I am sorry to hear of this complaint and will try to address it as accurately as possible.  I was first contacted about this job by Mrs. [redacted] and her daughter.  There were a lot of negotiations that took place between the original bid and what ended up being in the scope of work on...

the executed contract.  Multiple revisions were made to such documents which included changes to the scope of work, payment schedule, allowances, etc.  When we finally agreed to terms, I then met Mr. [redacted] for the first time and we executed the contract. Mrs. [redacted] pointed out that she wanted us to demo the (2) existing tubs and change them into showers, as well as change an additional tub/shower in the basement to a shower.  At this point, it was obvious that there were many communication errors, and I contacted Mr. [redacted] because I wanted to get everyone on the same page. Through iMessage, I am able to see when my text has been read, and there were multiple times that the message was not read for 2-3 days.  When I noticed this, I would follow up with calls that sometimes went straight to voicemail.  I have no hard feelings towards the [redacted]’s and we are working diligently to complete their project.  I have even tried to issue an Amendment specifying a credit amount and new completion dates.  This has yet to be signed and is another of the reason why I’m very disheartened about the complaint.  I understand Mr. [redacted] is a busy man, but I need other family members to be reachable to successfully finish this project, which we have every intention of doing to their satisfaction.  I hope once it’s complete, this complaint can be resolved in a professional manner.  According to our feedback and reviews on not only Revdex.com, but also many other applicable sites, you will notice that this is the only complaint or negative feedback we have ever received, so needless to say it came as a shock.

[redacted] was an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was timely, professional and always responsive to our questions and our needs. We engaged him to do some work on our investment property and he treated it like it was his own. He made sure that we were pleased with the work each step of the way and that the job performed exceeded our expectations (which it did). The fees charged were also extremely reasonable. We will definitely be using this company again.

All of the associates at Ferguson GC were professional, competent, and exceptionally courteous. [redacted] worked hard to get the project completely fast and timely as well as going above and beyond to fulfill some add-on requests.
During pricing and contracting, he was honest about what he could do for me verses what would be better to get through a large retailer. This honesty was impressive and shows his integrity as a leading provider in his profession.
[redacted] and his team were also very flexible and interested in getting the job done the way I wanted it. They never hesitated to change something that didn’t seem right to me.
It was a pleasure to work with Ferguson GC and I would recommend them to anyone looking to get a job done well and reasonably priced. They are definitely a team you can trust.

We decided to go with Ferguson for a 3rd floor renovation project in our home after meeting with Ryan, and we are very pleased with the decision and results. Ryan does a great job of walking through the process from start to finish, and offers great advice along the way. Communication was great and he was very flexible and helpful with us when changes were requested. I would highly recommend Ferguson for any renovation project you might need. His team is very respectful of your home and you will definitely be pleased with the end product, and working with Ryan made the process easy and stress free.

FGC just completed multiple jobs around my historic home. They were very professional, completed everything well within the said timeframe and, most importantly, within the estimated price quote! Highly recommend!!
