Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: They would not allow me to print the return before it was processedThey would not allow me to amend the return before it was processedThey have not stood behind their promisesThey have not earned their feeThey should allow me to amend the return at no chargeI don't think this is asking too muchBy filing an amended return, this will increase the chance of the IRS auditing my returnThat sounds like good fun , NOTIf I cannot amend my return thru fileyourtaxes.com, I will have to go thru another tax filing service & pay them to file the amendmentFileyourtaxes.com can either refund my money or pay for someone else to correct their mistake Thank you Revdex.com for your dedication to helping all of us Regards, [redacted]

We thank Mr*** for being a repeat customer for the last three years
Our system is based solely on the data entered by the userThe original return as
submitted did not include a credit amount that makes up the differenceSubsequent to filing, the said amount was includedHowever, once the return is filed and accepted, there is no way for us to change that returnHowever, the taxpayer has the option to make changes through the amendment process during the allowed statutory period, as man times as desired
The user can always print the return and forms and schedules always before the filing of the return and also once the return is acceptedThe summary page allows the printing of forms through the small PDF logos, and the user can also choose printing option once logged inPrinting is not allowed during the period that the IRS is holding the return for the purpose of acknowledging the returnThis usually is a very short period (usually hours) and no action can be taken on the return at this time
We feel that we have earned our fee, constructing and electronically filing the return in the automated manner we promisedIn this case, it will not be our responsibility to amend the return
We look forward to serving Mr*** again in the futureTo this end, as a good will gesture, we will extend a discount to him for the taxesSince those codes are not available at this time, we will look forward to hearing from from Mr*** during November-December time-frame, with copy of this communication, to request such a code

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because:
I arrived from the IRS landing page, as stated earlier that is how I discovered fileyourtaxes.com in the first placeI thought when asked for payment to try clicking through to find the free (as advertised) return service and assumed the fee had been accessed in error
Now on going back to the landing page which I arrived at the first time through I realize now there are two links to start your return, since one simply is green and reads start your free file with an arrow pointing to the right to another button which says let me see value added offersI thought that first button was just directing me to click the link to start my tax return and along the way I would be offered value added offersOn clicking the value added offers there are none, just a sisheet and then the process of beginning your taxes with no mention of any fees or the amount they intend to charge you for the service(I would call this deceptive advertising or bait and switch) A user would naturally continue on like I had and spend a few hours filling out all the online forms before trying to e-file and not finding the free file that had been advertisedSince this company had an A rating from Revdex.com I assumed after a while of toying with the return settings that there was an error somewhere in the program and that the business would honor the advertised price (which essentially gets them free advertising on the IRS website)So I sent in my return and immediately e-mailed the customer service to inform them of the discrepancy.
https://www.fileyourtaxes.com/cgi-bin/2005/affiliate.pl?s=ALLIANCE
above is the web address I filed at, looking at the page a third time I realize not only is the green sign saying start a free file return pointing me to the button which will then have you complete all the time consuming form filling before giving you a price quote, but there is also a man smiling and pointing you into a box which tells you you may view value added offers and then file a free returnThis was constructed to be misleading and there are probably market research tests (if not the company's own trial and error iterations) to create a misleading page and then take advantage of the traffic generated by having a link on the IRS websiteI'm saving all of the screen shots and if your company is that inflexible in returning the fees (for an identical return to the free one) then I'm sure there are more people out there who have been misguided in the same wayI'm not a fan of companies who use the government's image to lead people into a sense of security and exploit themAll I'm asking is for honest business practice, for the company to act honorably and in good faithWe will speak again.

Complaint:
I am rejecting this response because: I had to start a second return because their system blanked and deleted the first oneI reviewed the forms and information prior to paying for my return it changed after I submitted my payment, essentially altering the return I paid for, again another computer issue on their endIf you review my summary page right now it still shows the federal return as ready to file and my state return listing my account info for the refund the system said I was owedTheir program screwed up and I not only paid them for the returns and $to talk to someone I also have to now pay for someone to fix their mistakesThe summary page of my return shows the inconsistencies with this returnThey are unwilling to stand behind their product and fix my returns

Thank you very much for for bringing this mater to our attention. Mr. B[redacted] has been a valued customer of FileYourTaxes.com since he the 2006 tax year.

The matter, as we explained to him,...

in summary was as follows:
Mr. B[redacted] asked us for a form that was not part of his tax return but was requested from him by a non tax agency, which he chose not to identify. In view of the fact that this was an unusual request and we had to generate form for this specific purpose, multiple levels of customer and technical service was involved. Normally, for such services and additional product, our Post Filing Services product had to have been purchase. Nevertheless, wee accommodated Mr.B[redacted] based on on our lasting relationship without additional cost.

We wish to reiterate our desire to serve Mr. B[redacted] in the years come as we have don so for may years in the past. To this end we extended additional services to him on complimentary basis. We discussed this matter with him on 06/30/2016 over the phone and were under the impression that that he would recall his complaint to Revdex.com upon reflection for a day or so.

Regarding the Desired Settlement:
The form was not a necessary for form filing and was required for a an unknown purpose, other than filing of a tax return.
The accounts are normally commented regardless of the name of the person answering the phone. Any customer service person can follow-up with an open ticket.
The services were provided as promised. Additional services were provided at no cost. Therefore no refund is due for tax filing cost for 2015 in this c

Thank you for your inquiry.

FileYourTaxes.com provides a very large
number of free returns as as a public service.

0in;">However, Taxpayers, wishing to use the
free services for tax returns and extensions must arrive on our
special landing page, specifically referred from the IRS' Free File
page independently, first time they come to our site for the that
season's filing. Each such arriving return is tagged as a free
return. All other returns are subject to our stated fees. The
Taxpayer is free to complete a return and view or print a draft copy
of that return prior to payment. Once the Taxpayer directs us to
produce or eFile the return we provide the description and amount of
the associated fees for our service. Taxpayer can choose to stop at
this point without any obligation to us.

The return in question was not received
from the FFA page and therefore was not tagged as a free return.
Therefore the assessed fee that was willingly paid by Ms. [redacted] is
correct, proper and stands. The same explanation was provided to to
Ms. [redacted] previously on or about March 14, 2014.

Much as the Revdex.com has summerized, they do make the effort to reply, but their reply is unsatisfactory. When I read the customer complaints, some follow the same trend as what I had experienced.
First off, the only means they provide to contact them is through their secure messaging system on their website, which is understandable due to the sensitive nature of the business, but they only provide one answer per sent question, and no means to reply, nor any button marked as "send reply".
My experience with them is that I filed a form through them before the due date with payment. There was a listing on my account showing the time and date that were before the due date, and not indication anything was missing or wrong. However, I never got any confirmation via my email, which I had to provide to create an account, nor did I see any fund transactions from my bank. After checking back almost daily for any new sign on their website, I find in a few days an error message, "Federal error 1", and a statement that the form needs to be filed on or before the due date, and what exception is allowed otherwise. I sent a secure message to them to find what happened, and they simply replied that my submission was past the due date. When I sent another message saying that my submission was before the due date, their simple reply was that I forgot to hit the submission button. However, why would they send an error message if I had never submitted the form then?
I can only conclude that they are making every effort to deny any blame to themselves and try to put the blame on the customer.

I am rejecting this response because: They would not allow me to print the return before it was processed. They would not allow me to amend the return before it was processed. They have not stood behind their promises. They have not earned their fee. They should allow me to amend the return at no charge. I don't think this is asking too much. By filing an amended return, this will increase the chance of the IRS  auditing my return. That sounds like good fun , NOT. If I cannot amend my return thru fileyourtaxes.com, I will have to go thru another tax filing service & pay them to file the amendment. Fileyourtaxes.com can either refund my money or pay for someone else to correct their mistake.
Thank you Revdex.com for your dedication to helping all of us.

A refund of $29.50 will be made to the credit card account of record as requested by the customer.

The calculation has been updated to
this year's requirements earlier, and to the best of our knowledge,
the system now calculates with the correct 10% amount.
Further,
as a courtesy to the Ms. [redacted], we pulled out her return from
queue and made it...

editable so that Ms. [redacted] can resubmit it with
full assurance that the calculations are to her satisfaction.
We
also sent a separate secure message to Ms. [redacted] to this effect.
Thank you for contacting us.

Complaint: 9995244
I am rejecting this response because:
paid for tax services with this company that we're never processed. Upon contacting the company they...

told me that they would refund me for my payment which I have never received. This company has deleted my account and it am no longer able to access the information that I paid to receive. This is my personal tax information which should be available to me.
I would like a refund for services I did not receive.

Per our previous submissions, we do not
alter or contribute any data, nor monitor submission of data by the
users. Therefore, we do not see how we could have contributed to the
errors.

If the return is to be changed, it
needs to be amended using the IRS Form 1040X. Regardless of who
prepares this form, it will have to be submitted on paper as per
instructions for the same form.

Ms. Machon started two returns on our
OnLine system. One was completed and eFiled.

We are not aware of which return she
was looking at or at which point she is referring to. We do...

not
monitor or review returns; instead, we merely construct the return
eFile it to the tax agencies based on electronic instructions of the
user.

If the information that was the basis
of the return needs to be changed, it is the responsibility of the
user to do so. At many points prior to filing the return, the user
can review the tax forms for the accuracy of the entered data.

I completed my taxes and attempted file, I immediately receive a messabe indicating my taxes were rejected because my AGI from 2016, that I was using as a signature was wrong, in fact, is NOT wrong. My concern is what else is wrong. I would not trust this website. Move onto a reputable tax filing system.
