She asked if the account has been credit reported and was informed that it had been reported most recently on 1/28/18. She became upset on hearing that and stated that she was trying to buy a home and the reporting would cause her to lose her contract. She asked if the reporting would be removed if she paid the account and was told that we could not remove the report but would update it to reflect the settlement in full status. On 1/31/18, Ms. [redacted] called FCOA and complained that the account should not have been credit reported before she had a chance to pay the settlement amount and she wanted it removed when she did pay. A supervisor informed her that the report could not be removed but it would be updated to reflect the Settlement-in-Full. Resolution: FCOA is unable to remove accounts from credit reporting unless there is an error in the record. If Ms. [redacted] chooses to pay the settlement amount on the account, the account will be reported to the credit report agency as settled. Should anything further be required, please do not hesitate to contact us. l us why here...
