Review: Car Catching on fire due to battery installed by Firestone

I have been a preferred customer for over 10 years at Firestone Complete Auto Care. Over the past 5 years I have notice a negative change in the company in regards to customer service down to the service on my vehicles. March 10, 2013 9:28am I took my car to Firestone Complete Auto Care located in [redacted]. I requested an alignment check (life time warranty) as well as a battery Installation.

During my visit it was a red flag that the technician finished my vehicle in less than 25 min, as I found this to be odd with current visit taking hours to complete service.

March 15, 2013 6:30am I seem my life flash before my eye when me vehicle caught on fire( while driving) due the battery that was installed in the vehicle days before. When The City of Sacramento (fire department) arrived, the first question that was asked me was, "have you recently have had work done on the vehicles."

I responded back with, I just had a battery replace from Firestone, the individual said that it clearly look like this was the cause of the fire.

Losing my car was has cause a hardship, heart break as this was a unreplaceable gift from my great grandmother who is now deceased. I thought that Firestone Complete Auto Care would have taken full responsibility with my total lose and recent repairs( breaks, routers and tires) but all I have gotten from the corporate office is excuses and offerings of $2,500 for my vehicle when my car was worth $5,600. I now am now dealing with Post Termatic Stress every time I smell fire or it's windy out side from trauma/ panic attract that I have been left with.

Thank god my insurance company took care of me to there best ability.Even thought Firestone Complete Auto Care has taken responsibility for this incident. They have not compensated me with my total lost at the end of the day . I believe that Firestone could have and would have taken my life if it was't for the "Grace of God". I feel that the teqnitions are not fully qualified and treat consumers like a in and out burger joint that can take your life at the end of the day.

As a director of customer service, I expected to have some sort of settlement offered, it never happened.

Desired Settlement: I am seeking a settlement to cover repairs made prior to my visit with firestone as well as compensation due to the hardship this has placed on my life.

I do not accept the responds as " Firestone Complete Auto Care" is not taking full responsibility for all of the hardship as a whole. I had over $800.00 in repairs done to my vehicle prior to this incident ( front and rear breaks, routers, oil change and tires).

Firestone Complete Auto Care was very un personal to the fact that I could have lost my life on this day , when my car caught on fire as I was driving it off the freeway. I do not accept there responds.

Review: Brought my car in to get flat tire repaired. I had purchased the tires from [redacted] who is a company that is part of Firestone. When I brought my car in the gentleman at the front desk was extremely rude. He looked at my flat tire and said yep we have that one in stock and we will get it replaced for you. After the repair of the tire he stated my new tired that were bought in June and had only 3,000 miles on them and told me the tire wear was at 6/32. I needed to get back to Reno so I told him to repair it and so I could get on my way. After I got back to Reno I went back to [redacted] and explained my situation to them. They reviewed the other 3 tires and stated there was no way they were that low in tread depth. [redacted] measured the tread depth to be 9/32 and almost new. I feel this company is using predatory practices on consumers and I would like my money back for this repair as per [redacted] I should never have been charged $111.32 to fix this tire. I am very disappointed with this company.Desired Settlement: I would like my money back as I feel this charges that were incurred on me should not be as much as they were. [redacted] even stated to me they would have charged me $20 at the most to repair it and not $111 that I was charged.
