First Choice Assets LLC. has received the above referenced complaint, which has been forwarded for investigation and response. We are a third party collection agency retained by its clients to secure payment of past due accounts. As I have investigated the complaint received by Mr. ***, I have... attached the phone reports for the phone number in question. As you can see there were not several calls a day, there were 4 calls total on different days. The 1_1B on Jan. 12 was an inbound call where the caller hung up upon transfer. In regards to the nasty and sarcastic agent; As I listened to the call recording it started out with Mrs. [redacted] screaming and using obscenities to remove her number. The agent was caught off guard and was requesting the phone number to remove and Mrs. [redacted] would not provide and then finally did. The agent was counseled and discussed that he should of transferred Mrs. [redacted] to myself or a Manager. The number was removed and we apologize for any inconvienience. We strive to always be in compliance with the law and work diligently to ensure our agency makes every attempt to resolve any and all complaints received by a consumer. I trust this letter satisfies the request and expectations of our company, but I remain available to your office and Mr. [redacted] at ###-###-#### ***, should I be able to offer any further information or assistance. Sincerely, David M. Chief Compliance Officer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint Since my initial complaint, I found out from my aunt locally that family members in PA and MD contacted her because "someone" called them (one call per person) looking for me as wellI can't even begin to explain how upset this made me or how much my blood pressure going up because of it caused exacerbated my conditions. Note: I am not upset because of a debt collector following the law and contacting members of my family -- even though these are not blood relativesI recognize that a debt collection company is allowed to contact family membersWhat I'm upset about is how I can only imagine this company went about getting the names of the individuals contacted: These are people who I have never lived with and who I do not have a lot of contact with any more for various reasonsThe ONLY way that this company, and I can only assume it was this company since this company is the only one who used this method to find me -- even though I was never missing and my address clearly outlined in state records -- is by pulling the names of these people from my DEAD SISTER'S OBITUARYThat would have been the only way that I can think of that their names could have been linked to my own since they are relatives through my father's second marriage and wife and the only public link to my name that I know of would have been through the obituary. So, my complaint now includes those contacts and the use of my deceased sister's obituary in this fashion. I really didn't need to be reminded of my sister's death from complications of a cancerous brain tumor while I'm now dealing with a brain tumor that, although likely noncancerous based on the low percentage of these tumor turning out to be cancer, is still growing and negatively impacting all aspects of my life. Again, I can't even describe how upsetting it was the moment I realized, in the midst of racking my brain trying to figure why this company would be contacting these people or why this company thought these people would be a good resource to find me, that the only public reference could have been my deceased sister's obituaryI've copied it belowAs you can see, it fails to mention that *** (one of the people contacted) is my father's ex-wife and that *** and *** are my sisters through marriageI have no idea if *** was contacted as well since my aunt wasn't called by her and she and I, like with the rest, haven't spoken or seen one another in many years: http://***.***.comOf course, I also then had to deal with questions from relatives who I haven't spoken to, again, in many years through my aunt about why anyone would be contacting them looking for meQuestion like "What's going on with ***?" and "Is she okay?" and "Is it about the tumor?" (Note: They only know about the tumor because my aunt talks with them)Of course, then my aunt was worriedSo, even though the debt collection company representatives didn't mention who they were to my relatives that they contacted in PA and MD, the mere phone calls implied that either something was further wrong with my health or that this was a financial or legal problem. So, thank you First Choice for making my life more miserable when it's already fairly horrific as it is every single dayAs for representatives of this company not stating their employer's name or the type of letter... As far as I now understand, communications from debt collectors are to clearly state things like the company's name and that the representative is calling about a debtNow, I also understand that does not mean my blood or otherwise relativesI do understand that debt collectors are not allowed to give that information out to relativesBUT, in regards to the calls to my cell phone, there is no reason that representatives of this company couldn't have said who they were, their client's name or the type of letter from the start to save all of us wasted time (and, in my case, wasted time, lost income -- since I get paid based on my production while working from home, and emotional upset) dealing with this matter through the Revdex.comMrMdoes not mention who his client is or whether his client will do as I requested and now contact me at my public address so that this matter can be resolvedI recognize that in my initial complaint I don't think I actually asked for the client's name, but it would be helpful to know these two pieces of information -- or at least the one (i.ewhether whoever is trying to reach me will be sending me a letter soon so I can watch out for it)I'm not sure who MsDis in the final paragraph of the company's responseAm I expected to contact this person for some reason? I am otherwise satisfied with the response by the business in relation to it closing the account and no longer contacting me via phone. Regards,
