First Choice Auto Sale Reviews (30)

I am rejecting this response because:  A) They did not refund my money because they never charged my card, that was not the issue B) They sold "my" car that they committed to me and did so without "my" permission C) It is obvious that no one has even read my complaint.  D) It is my belief they sold the car to another party and I have asked the CA Atty General and the CA Auto dealers Assoc to look into this.  E) It would be great if a human at the Revdex.com would actually investigate this case, it seems like only emails are exchanged between each other.  This business is a sham, there are numerous complaints online, and there short, incomplete response to my complaint is evidence of their arrogance, as I assume this is how they operate.

We refunded the consumer back his original deposit after we figured that the car was going to cost more than a thousand dollars to fix. We could have kept the money and sold him a defective car, but we are an honest business and told the consumer about the issue. There is nothing more to move...

forward with. Thank you,

Review: 07/29/2014: I was searching online for a used car due to my car had died. I came across First Choice advertising a 2004 [redacted] Sonata for $3999.00 I submitted an application online to see if I qualify for a loan of $2900.00 with a down payment of $1000.00. I received a call stating that I qualified for the $2900.00 loan so I was going to First Choice on my day off.07/31/2014: I showed up at First Choice at around 2:00pm. I checked out the car and decided to purchase it. We were filling out all the paperwork and I noticed on the Cash Price line that it was totaled $4999.00. I asked the seller why it is $1000.00 more than the advertised price. The seller said it is because you are financing. I asked him if this was the interest and he said "oh ya that's it". It seemed like $5200.00 was reasonable for a $2900.00 loan. I gave the seller the $1000.00 down payment and signed the appropriate papers and left with the car.08/03/2014: I received a phone call from the bank who is holding the loan. They were going over the paperwork and stated my loan was $7200.00. I was shocked and said no way and will call them back. I called First Choice and spoke with the seller about why my loan was so high. He said because I'm financing the car. But I still didn't understand so he explained that he has a cash price and a loan price of the car. I told him he NEVER stated that when I was in his office nor when I spoke to him on the phone when he said my $2900.00 loan was approved. There was nothing on the internet add either about two prices. I needed the car so I couldn't return it. I thought that I signed the papers that this is my fault. However, I recently learned that this may be fraud because the ad was for $3999.00 and my loan for $2900.00 was approved but changed when I came in the office alone. I have a picture of the ad that was on First Choice website. I am also contacting the Dept of TransportationDesired Settlement: I would like a refund of $1000.00 plus interest or a new loan for the correct amount of $2900.00 drawn up and submitted to the bank.

Hi [redacted],I spoke to [redacted] at First Choice Auto and he said he would give me a refund. But when I told him I also wanted the 22% interest as well, or a new contract, he broke off communication.

Review: ON 10/24/2013 FIRST CHOICE AUTO DEALER AND I [redacted] AGREED TO FINANCE 2004 NISSAN MAXIMA WITH A 2500$ DOWN PAYMENT 294$ PER MONTH FOR 36 MONTHS, THE VEHICLE WAS RELEASED TO ME ON 10/24/2013 WITHOUT CONFIRMATION OF INSURANCE AND WITHOUT APPROVAL FROM A FINANCE COMPANY AT THE DATE OF PURCHASE (AT THE DEALERS OWN RISK). THEREFORE AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REALEASED TO ME IT TOOK A COUPLE WEEKS FOR THE FINANCE COMPANY TO GATHER MY EMPLOYMENT AND WORK INFORMATION UPON THE APPROVAL TO FINANCE THE VEHICLE. THE FIRST WEEK OF NOVEMBER 2013 THE FINANCE COMPANY DID NOT APPROVE TO FINANCE THE LOAN DUE TO THE FACT THAT I COULD NOT PRESENT WEEKLY CHECK STUBS FROM MY EMPLOYMENT. FIRST CHOICE AUTO THEN INFORMED ME THAT I WAS NOT APPROVED FOR THE FINANCE LOAN WEEKS AFTER I WAS ALREADY OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND TOLD ME THEY WOULD REPOSESS THE VEHICLE AND KEEP MY 2500$ DOWN PAYMENT. I IMMIDIATLEY OFFERED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK IN EXCHANGE FOR THE MAJORITY OF MY DOWN PAYMENT AND THEY REFUSED. THAT IS WHEN THE OWNER OF FIRST CHOICE AUTO([redacted]) [redacted] NO NAME CALLED AND OFFERED A PROPOSITION TO START A NEW DEAL. HE SAID HE COULD FORGE FALSE CHECK STUBS TO SEEK THE APPROVAL FROM A FINANCE COMPANY AND START A NEW DEAL TO BETTER BOTH OUR SITUATIONS. HE TOLD ME TO WAIT A COUPLE WEEKS AND HE WOULD GET BACK TO ME. ON 12/2/2013 THE OWNER OF FIRST CHOICE AUTO CALLED WITH A DEAL AND WITH FAKE CHECK STUBS WITH MY NAME ON IT AND ASKED ME TO MEET SO I COULD SIGN A NEW DEAL BUT WHEN I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE WARRANTY I WAS NOT RECEIVING AND HOW UPSET I WAS WITH THE SERVICE, INCLUDING THE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS THE CAR CAME WITH DATE OF PURCHASE. THE OWNER WENT HISTARICAL, CURSING, THREATNING, AND VERBALLY ABUSING ME FOR OVER A MINUTE ON THE PHONE. HE THREATENED TO RE-POSSESS THE VEHICLE IF I DIDN'T SHOWN UP AT THE DEALER TO SIGN ON 12/3/2013. UNFORTUNATE FOR THE OWNER OF FIRST CHOICE AUTO I WAS IN MY OFFICE AT WORK, WHILE A MANAGER OVER HEARD THE WHOLE CONVERSATION THROUGH SPEAKER. HE WAS OBVIOUSLY AGGRAVATED AND ABSOLUTLEY OUT OF LINE. I WAS SCARED FOR MY SAFTEY, SCARED TO GO BACK TO THE DEALER AND ASSTONISHED THAT ANY OWNER WOULD TREAT THEIR CLIENT THE WAY HE HAD, IT WAS COMPLETLEY UNPROFESSIONAL.

RE: Case number [redacted], [redacted]

2004 Nissan Maxima Purchase

After going through the complaint that was filed on December, 13 2013 it appears to us that there is a lot of wrong information that was filed by Mr. [redacted].

According to the sales contract that was signed by Mr. [redacted] on October 24 2013 it clearly shows that his down payment is $3000, in which $2500 was paid on the 24th of October and the rest ($500.00) was differed until November 14, 2013 in which he failed to pay.

After submitting his contract to the finance company, they asked us for more documents from him to close the deal, that's when we contacted Mr. [redacted] asking him to provide the needed documents, and to pay the rest of the down-payment ($500.00). In the beginning he was cooperative with us but then he started to flake and never provided us with any documents, by then the finance company rejected the deal.

We gave MR. [redacted] a lot of time to come through and try to make it work with the finance company, but with no luck.

With all the options trying to make this deal to work and since MR. [redacted] did not help us close the deal with the finance company we had no choice but to repossess the vehicle.

Regarding him claiming that we offered him to forge pay-stubs; I find that is totally not right and as a reputable business we would never offer our customers to give or forge any fraudulent documents, and threatening customers is so unprofessional and we would never do such a thing.

We got MR. [redacted] approved based on the information he put on his credit application, and proving that information is on him.

If you have any more concerns regarding this case please feel free to contact us:

Thanks

Review: I bought a 1997 BMW from First Auto & 48 hrs later the 'check engine' light came on. They told me to bring car in & their mechanic said I needed a catalytic converter. They said they would not repair it but that they could cancel the contract. I said 'ok'. When I came in the following day, they said they'd changed their mind & that they would replace the catalytic converter. Three days later they told me this had been done. After 24 hours the 'check engine' light came on again. I took car to BMW dealer and after paying $2000 I had a new catalytic converter. FIRST CHOICE DID NOT DO THE REPAIR JOB THAT THEY SAID THEY WOULD DO. In addition, I had to pay out another $2012 to get the car in good working order.

Product_Or_Service: 1997 BMW

Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)

I would like First Auto to pay for the replaced catalytic converter as they said they would do, ie. $2000.

Business' Initial Response

We sold the 1997 BMW as is with no warranty, we offered her the contract cancellation option agreement but she declined it. Even we sold her the vehicle as is we still offered to have the vehicle inspected and have the problem fixed, after the repairs were made she picked up the vehicle, and we never heard from her since, according to the sales contract, on a section marked "COMPLAINT", with her signature on it, is to try to resolve any concerns with the dealer first, but if we failed to get the issue resolved, then she would have the right to further actions, as for the replacement of the catalytic converter, and since we got it replaced at a different shop, it still under that shops warranty, and if she would have contacted us before she went and replaced it on her own, it would've been much easier to get this issue resolved.

At this point there is nothing much that we can offer her.

Review: They sold me a car that was a lemon. Shortly after purchasing the car(i week), the front shocks and struts went out. A week after that, I had to get a new battery and cables installed. I also noticed that the tires in the back had a large slice in them. They had to be repaired. I contacted the dealer, and they told me that it was not their problem considering I bought a car as is. In August the "check engine light came on", had that checked, and paid $500.00 for a new idle control valve. The check engine light is still on, because there is a short in the wiring system. I have spent more money on repairing this car than I have making payments on it.Desired Settlement: I would either like another car at the same rate of payments I am making now, or I would like a complete refund of my money that I have spent fixing it.

Response:

She bought the car AS IS back in May 2014, that's about five months ago. We got the shocks, the battery, and the battery connectors replaced for her at no charge. She took the car to the a [redacted] Dealership and they didn't fix it right she should take it out on them not us, plus if she came to us in a good way, without yelling and threatening we would've helped her, but with the way she approached us, there is no way we would even talk to her, and she is not allowed on our premises.

should you have any further questions please feel free to contact us via e-mail. thank you [redacted]

Review: I recently purchased a used 2007 [redacted] IS250 vehicle and after a few days noticed that the vin# of the vehicle hood and the driver door were two different vin#'s of the vehicle. I have made a report with the DMV. I wanted to refinance with another bank but was told to cancel the gap insurance and I tried contacting first choice auto and they refused to cancel the gap insurance and also provide me the gap insurance information. I have tried calling back numerous times and the employees of first choice wont give me a finance manager or business owner information. They keep hanging up on me. I was hoping to cancel the gap insurance to refinance my vehicle that I purchased on April 3, 2016. First choice auto didn't provide me the gap insurance information when I purchased the 2007 [redacted] IS250.Desired Settlement: I would like to cancel the gap insurance from the contract to refinance with another bank.

Business

Response:

No one hang up the phone on the customer or told her that she can not cancel her GAP contract. She was sent an email with a cancellation form to be signed so we can proceed with her cancellation.

Review: On 2/27/15 I purchased a 2005 [redacted] Accord from First Choice Auto located at 2680 Auburn Blvd Ste C Sacramento, CA 95821. 2 days after Ipurchased the car I took it back, because it seemed to have something going on with the transmission.Repairs were made the breaks, rotors, and caliper. I was told by the auto shop the car was not safe to operate without the repairs being made. I was led to believe the transmission and Ac compressor issues had been resolved by the First Choice Auto. I've tried on numerous occasions to resolve the issue with First choice auto and there still have been no resolution. In the meantime my family's out of transportation.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund. I don't trust this company to repair the auto. I've allowed two attempts only to be mislead.

Review: Bad Faith Sales!! We purchased a 2001 Dodge Durango at First Choice Auto in Sacramento CA. We were prommissed that the ABS system and The Transmission and the Driver side door window and control panel would all be repaired and in full working order as a condition of the sale. They have had the car more than we have and it is still not repaired. [redacted] said I am a man of my word! He said that he would make it right and had kept lying to us. They have continued to use the OBD2 Code reader to erase the on board computer, so that you can not tell if the work has been done. Even when getting it in writting they have continued to lye! We went into Debt for the first time in 8yrs. And had informed them we were looking for a reliable car...[redacted] said trust me I am a man of my word! Do not expect to buy a safe and reliable car at this Dealership lying is second nature to them. They prey on people who are in need. We have had this issue since the day we baught the car..we have had to bring the car back to them more than 5 times and it is still not fixed and it is now into the end of January 2014.Desired Settlement: For the 2001 Dodge Durango to be taken to a reputable repair facility such as Folsom Dodge Auto to be completely repaired as promissed by First Choice Auto and at thier expense. My wife is Totally Handy Capped and depends on this vehicle to be safe. And this is our only source of transportation,to and from work and doctors..food etc. We want what we paid for a safe, reliable running car. As prommissed!

Review: When I test drove the vehcle I boought it made a loud beeping noise. I told [redacted] aabout it and said I couldn't buy making that noise and the warning lights on. He had someonetake it to Green auto repair and they said it was a steering angle sensor. [redacted] said he would pay for the repairso we went ahead and bought the car. The repair shop said they had to order the part so we took the car home, 70 miles from where we live. That was August first. The brakes squeek really loud and I called [redacted] about them. He said to have Green auto repair fix them because he already paid them to do the brakes. On 8/13/14 I took the car to my local dealer and they diagnosed and repaiered the brake issue, I paid $207.60 for and diagnosed the steering angle sensor as being bad. I did not pay the estatment of $1258.00 but told them First Choice Auto was going to fix it but they hadn't gotten the part yet. I picked the car up on 8/18/14 and called first choice for the fourth time and was told that the part had been ordered and should be in by Wednsday the 20th. I called on the 21st and [redacted] was very agitated he finally said call tomorrow about 11:00 and it should be in. This is 22 days after I bought the car. I just want my car fixed and to be repaid fro the brakes as we agreed when I bought the car.Desired Settlement: Reimbursed for having the brakes done and either reimbursed for the steering sensor and repair or [redacted] fixing it.

Response:

The 2002 Mercedes-Benz that Mr. Darling purchased from us has 4 brand new brakes pads, (front and back) as for the sensor he is concern about, Mr. Darling should arrange for it with the shop, Green Auto repair

they are the third party mechanic shop that we use, they will take care of the repairs for him.

thank you
