Review: Mailed check to Firstpoint Collections on 11-21 for $70.40

Check sent to :

FirstPoint Collection Resources

[redacted]0

Collection agency is not crediting account, and continues to harass by phone, but refuses to give me information about debt unless I offer my social security number and date of birth, which is ILLEGAL.Desired Settlement: I would like my debt cleared, any bad credit reporting withdrawn, and proof of the same.

Business

Response:

Payment was posted to account 12/3/13. Receipt is attached for your records. We do not credit report accounts until 45 days after the account is placed in our office. The account was listed with FirstPoint 11/6/13 and paid 12/3/13, therefore, it was never listed with any credit reporting agencies.

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Although they say the money has been credited and say they didn't ding my credit report, time will tell, they did not address their rude and illegal collection practices. Robocalling people who have already paid, putting them on hold, and then refusing to discuss the matter unless they divulge sensitive information such as date of birth and social security numbers is not right. Strangers should not be asking for such information over the phone, as that information is all that's necessary for criminals to steal someone's identity. Surely officials at First Point are smart enough to understand that.I would like to see assurances from someone in authority at First Point that this practice will stop, and would like an apology.

Regards,

Review: I was contacted by a [redacted] from FirstPoint Collection stating I had an outstanding debt with [redacted] apartments. They used account # [redacted]. I immediately disputed this over the phone with Mrs [redacted] since I have never signed any type of contract with [redacted]. I received what they call a Validation letter with a copy of an application that had been completed to see if I qualified for the apartment. This application in no way is a signed contract stating that I wanted to move to this apartment, it was only an application. This company has NO CONTRACT signed by me to obligating me for this bill. FirstPoint stated they have no contract with my signature and that they don't need one. Since I never signed a contract with this apartment community this false information needs to be removed from all Credit Reporting Agencies. I am also pursuing legal action against FirstPoint and [redacted] for serious damage to my credit report and my character. I have recorded all of the phone conversations with FirstPoint documenting their refusal to provide any type of signed contract.Desired Settlement: Remove all false information from all credit reporting agencies.

Business

Response:

We have contacted our client and requested a signed copy of the lease. They are going to fax a copy of the agreement and we will forward as soon as we get a copy.

So now your claiming to be waiting on some made up paperwork showing my signature? My attorney will have a field day with this. All the while your company is knowingly keeping derogatory and false information in my credit file. I guess I shouldn't complain so much since I'll be collecting a nice check from your company and your client for reporting lies and false information.

Business

Response:

We informed [redacted] that the account was still disputed since the lease agreement was not signed by Ms. [redacted]. They have asked us to cancel the account in collections, which we have done. A request was sent to Equifax on 5/13/14 to remove the item from [redacted]'s credit file. Acknowledgment #[redacted] received from Equifax.

Regards,

Review: This collection agency continues to call our home regularly. When we initially called back to find out why they keep calling and harassing us we were told that we are in default on an outstanding bill which has been sent to collections. According to the representative the name of the individual they seek is someone we have never heard of before living in a completely different state. Despite the fact that we have been using the same landline number for twelve years and they have linked our phone number to this individual. They have ignored our efforts to stop the endless messages left on our answering machine which we feel is harassment.Desired Settlement: Stop the business from contacting us.

Business

Response:

Individual's complaint has been reviewed and the corresponding telephone number has been removed from our system. FirstPoint Collection Resources, Inc. apologizes for any inconvenience this situation may have caused.

Review: I made a payment to First Point at their online site for a collection amount of $361.90 for a debit they were showing I owed to GMAC. I paid online with a debit card . Sent proof of the collection payment to the 3 credit bureaus and First Point has not verified that the debit has been paid. As a matter of fact they are stating to EquiFax that as of June 7th the debit of $361.90 was still owed. I have a receipt from their site that I paid this debit, yet they still continue to report it incorrectly and it is directly affecting my credit and my ability to purchase a homeDesired Settlement: I want the debit taken completely off of my credit report with all three agencies. If they will not comply I will file a complaint with the FTC I have confirmation of the payment from the company. Their confirmation number is [redacted]

Review: I had an agreement with First Point to take 50 dollars a month from my checking account to pay a debt. However on 11/4/13 they withdrew 377.63. I called the company and spoke with a gentleman who told me the issue will be resolved and redeposited with 48 hours. 2 days later no redeposit. I called again and spoke with Ms [redacted], as well as Ms. [redacted] who told me that I needed to send proof of withdrawl, which I did. The next day she required additional documentation which I scanned and sent. She advised me that the check would be mailed. I told her this was unacceptable because I had been promised the funds would be returned and still no funds andI needed it fedex. She advised me that the package would be delivered to my house on Saturday. I was given a tracking number that was inactive. No package arrived. I called Monday morning and was told there was a mistake and the package was not picked up but I would have it 11/12/13 by 10:30 guarenteed delivery. It has still not arrived.Desired Settlement: My account should be paid in full and creditors and credit bureau notified.

Business

Response:

Fed Ex did pick the package up

on Monday, she should have received it by now. Admin Dept called to have it picked up

Friday for Saturday Delivery, it was not picked up so Fedex was called again on

Monday, Fedex could not give me any excuse why it was not picked up. They put

in an order to pick up on Monday and it should arrive by 10:30 am Tuesday, Ms.

[redacted] said she was told it would be delivered by 4:30 on Tuesday.

She filed this complaint at

11:26 on Tuesday, I would say she probably has the package by now.

Response:

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

While I did receive the package over a week after I reported this unauthorized withdraw from my account, I have an addiitonal bank fee that must be paid and I have sent an email verifying this fee, and I was also promised a letter to submit to my bank explaining the unauthorized withdraw ad the fact that overdrafts were not my fault, . I have recieved no email responses from this company in reference to issue. In light of all the above and that this company has violated my trust, first by taking money out of my account without permission and second not resolving the issue in a timely manor I am requesting this balance be paid in full as I can no longer trust this company and do business with them. I have spent hours on the phone trying to resolve this matter and was given misinformation many times before I finally got my partial refund ( $50 was taken out that I did not authorize)

please read following email

Good Morning

Thank you for your attention this morning. As I stated to you this has been a frustrating situation since it began with the untimely/unauthorized withdrawl on 11/4/13.

To restate the chain of events I had a great experience with First Point for some months now, I approved a $50 a month deduction that covered several bills that had gone to your company. The gentleman who made this arrangement was polite and I was pleased with events. However when I went to pay my electric bill 11/5 I realized that $377.00 had been pulled from my account by Firstpoint. I called immediatley and was assured by the representative the situation had been sent to accounting and would be resolved immediately, and returned to my acct within 48 hrs. However the money was not returned and thus started the last 2 days of phone calls, scans emails and calls. Ms. [redacted] and [redacted] have been kind and patient and done everything they could to help me. However the gentleman I spoke with this morning was very rude, unapologetic as well as terse. This problem was not of my making, and I stated that I expected the problem corrected immediatley as I was in financial hardship as a result of company error. I asked the monies be delivered to my bank and deposited, he stated this ws against policy. I retorted that it was also against policy to withdraw funds without permission. I offered to accept an overnight check and he also said this was immpossible the check had been sent already. At taht point I asked to speak with somebody at a higher pay grade than he and he said that wasnt possible.

I emailed bank info and am reemailing to you what fees have been assessed already and will also email info when the 2 businesses charge me fees. I also ask that a letter be drafted to my bank explaining this error so these 2 returns will not count againt me.

At this point you stepped in and I appreciate that. As I type this email I am asking for my balance to be cleared, as I can no longer trust your company to have access to my bank account. Accidents happen, in my business as well as every business. But as a professional its my responsilbility to make things right. In light of what has happened the last few days I do not think my request is out of line.

Ms. [redacted] was able to speak with me this morning again and stated check was being overnighted to me, may I request early delivery as well as no signature required...and tracking info emailed to me. I (just like you) have 100 of errans to run and this info would help me plan my day.

I am so ready to resolve this issue. please email me at your earliest convenience.

regards

We have no record of any further refunds to be sent. Last conversation was on 11/11/13. If there are further bank charges due we will need a copy from the bank showing how much.

I forwarded an email showing the $25 charge assessed to me by one of the vendors that was a returned check. This email was sent 11/13/13 to J [redacted]. I also continue to wait for the letter admitting their error that resulted in returned check.

[redacted],

Here is a copy of the check that was returned to our bank. We have a service charge of $25.00 per returned check. Thanks for taking care of this and how do you want to settle this check?

Thank you for the check that was mailed, regarding this issue that arose as of 11/4/13, with your withdrawl from my account that was not authorized.

I was advised when this happened a letter of explaination would be sent to me so I could forward it to my bank. My bank has questioned me regarding this withdraw and the resulting overdrafts, when I recently applied for a new car loan. Please forward this explaination because this is the only way my account can be cleared of this matter.

If this is not possible I will accept a payment in full of my account as I do not think it wise to do business with a company that takes funds that are not authorized. I have been greatly inconvenienced by this matter that still remains unresolved, and which I commited no wrongdoing.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Please be advised that this transaction was unintentionally written for $376.36 and deposited against Ms. [redacted]'s checking account.

Ms. [redacted] was not responsible for the overdraft that occurred and subsequently has been reimbursed for the overdraft fees.

Sincerely,

[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]

Regards,

I asked for this letter almost 3 months ago from Ms. [redacted]. I actually spoke with her personally and requested it. There is no reason why this 40 word document took almost 3 months to provide. When I asked for this letter it was specifically for the purpose of explaining to my credit union why I had these overdrafts, as I was applying for a car loan. I was ignored by Firstpoint.

I also explained to Ms. [redacted] that since they had violated my trust by taking funds from my account without my permission I was not comfortable doing business with them anymore. I would like for my debt to be paid off in light of their violation of our agreement. I think any reasonable consumer would respond the same way. Had I been dealt with in a timely fashion and not had to spend multiple phone calls (speaking with at least 6 representatives some of which who were none too polite) and emails much less contacting the Revdex.com to get resolution.

So no, I do not accept.

respectfully

Review: I had an agreement with an employee at [redacted] collection services in February 2015. The agreement was that she would start an investigation with [redacted] to see if money owed to me could be transferred and cancel out the bill in questioned. I was to be notified of the results of the investigation by letter. On March 20th, I recieved an alert from my credit monitoring website that [redacted] had turn an collection in to the credit bureaus. I didn't receive a call or letter from them before they did this to me. I called them and the manager made a false claim that some one tried "once" to call me but I didn't answer the phone. I paid it immediately because I never wanted on my credit report and would have handled it if I knew the results of the investigation. Today in the mail, I recieved a letter dated for the 27th of February with the results but the postage on the envelope is metered for the 27th of March. This is unfair.Desired Settlement: I want them to have it removed from my credit report or report that it was their mistake because they should have never reported it without contacting me first as we agreed. The fact that the letter just arrived, proves that no one contacted me before reporting to the credit bureaus.

Business

Response:

This account was listed with [redacted] for collection July 29, 2014. At that time the required validation notice was mailed on 8/4/14. After several attempts to make contact, the account was credit reported in September, 2014. February 10, 2015, we received a dispute claiming that the account was paid and a refund was mailed with the incorrect consumer's name. We flagged the account as disputed and followed up with [redacted] informed us that they needed a copy of the check that was sent with the incorrect name. This fact was included with our dispute response dated 2/27/15 along with a copy of the $100 still owing supplied by our client [redacted] Medical.

If a cancelled check is available showing that this account was paid prior to being listed with [redacted], please forward a copy to our office at [redacted] and we will send a request to [redacted] to correct their files.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

According to your response, I get the feeling that your not understanding or choose not to understand the bases of my complaint. There was an agreement made that after an investigation with your client was held I would then get the results and go from there. I was to receive those results by writing (not a phone call) per your employee. A month went by and I recieved notices from my credit watching system that [redacted] reported this debt ( before notifying me of the results ) to the credit bureaus. Because I didn't agree that I was responsible for the bill because the hospital owed me money, I was told there would be an investigation before any action would be taken against me but that didn't happen. After I called your office to complain( and pay the balance in full) I was told someone tried to call me ONCE......really? Then this letter I've inluded in the attachments, shows up weeks later dated 2/27/2015 and the postage clearly states March 27th after your company reported it to the credit bureau and not to me. First point never gave me a chance to handle it after the investigation as agreed. I want this collection removed from my credit report, even though it's been paid in full, because it should have never been reported.

Regards,

June 19, 2015 - contacted FirstPoint Collection Resouces, Inc. about a collection letter dated 06/11/15 regarding a company I don't do business with. I refused to give them my name or contact information and I called from a business phone so they couldn't trace it back by my phone number. They could not pull it up by THEIR Ref # of THEIR Account #. The Representative said he system was frozen but his seemed to be the only one frozen (i hear a LOT of others on calls behind him). He asks for my contact number or name and I refuse. If they called me they should be able to find it by the numbers they issued and my identity has been stolen once already. He says he completely understands and keeps trying to "unfreeze his system". He says he's going to give me to a co-worked and they calls drops.

I don't do business with the company they have on the letter so this is a complete SCAM.

Review: I had 6 accounts with this company all collections back in the later part of 2012 I agreed to pay them off with the agreement as they where payed they would be removed from my credit report I payed each of these dets if full and over the past 10 months I have called and spoke to a miss [redacted] she each time was very apologetic and insured me she has put them in to be removed and that the credit company takes 90 days sometimes to update there records I said ok each time and let it end at that today when I checked the reports there have been no change everything is as it was before I talked to miss [redacted] after the accounts were first payed I contacted her again today miss [redacted] said they have no record of that agreement and refused to fix it , I know what I agreed on my mistake was not getting this in writing , I strongly suggest anyone dealing with this company before you waste your money get the agreement in writing .Desired Settlement: Remove all payed in full accounts from my report as promised

Review: This company has contacted me via phone on numerous occasions but has not provided any correspondence via mail and will not discuss over the phone unless I verify information, which I feel is unsafe. I asked them to send a certified letter regarding what their phone call and they insist that I have received mail from them already. I also asked them to stop calling me unless they provided information via USPS to substantiate the purpose of their call.Desired Settlement: I would like for First Point to stop calling me and provide itemized explanation of charges in question by provider via certified mail.. In order to protect my identity, I will not verify any information via telephone.
