Fitness First has reviewed the complaint from [redacted], and unfortunately, there is very little truth to what has been told to the Revdex.com by the consumer. [redacted] signed a contract with us on May 13, 2014, and did in fact provide a [redacted] card on...

file for billing. In the contract, it clearly states under clause #19, that the membership is for at least one year. Furthermore, the cancellation that she says she filled out in August, states the same terms as the contract. We make it very clear when the member is signing the legal document, the terms that they are committing to. If there is any confusion, the member has a copy of the contract that states the rules and terms for canceling the membership. What I learned thru the negative [redacted] posting that [redacted] submitted, is that her husband was demanding she join WSC because they have a cheaper monthly rate then the $29 that [redacted] was paying Fitness First on a monthly basis. Both **. and [redacted], have verbally assaulted our Staff, and have attempted to defame us thru social media tactics. However, Fitness First has done nothing to deserve the negative PR, and will not be refunding [redacted].I have attached a copy of [redacted]'s signed contract, along with a sample cancellation form. I believe that you will see that there was no wrong doing on behalf of Fitness First.Thank you for your time in reviewing this matter.Sincerely,Amy D.

Review: Fitness First was bought out by [redacted] (all locations except for [redacted]) as of the end of June 2013. I asked to be let out of both my personal trainer contract as well as the gym membership contract since my contract was with corporate, which no longer exists, and not with only one single gym. I called numerous times (including on my birthday) and even had to go in and speak with the NEW General Manager [redacted] since all the previous management staff had left. Eventually [redacted] let me out of my contracts on a technicality, since I live outside of the contract zone. It took 3 days from when he said he would email me the cancellation papers to when I actually got them, and I had to call 5 times a day for those 3 days just to get this ONE email. Additionally, they still billed me for the personal training fee for July, even though [redacted] said he would take care of it and credit my account back immediately. I have called and emailed and called and there is NO response, only that they will take my message and pass it on to [redacted]. He refuses to get back to me and fix this issue so that both myself and FF can just move on from this issue. No one will send me copies of my cancelled contracts for my personal records, and to make sure I won't continue to be billed.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund credited back immediately. This should not be taking this long or be this arduous.
