I was staying at Fitzpatrick Hotel for my job interview. At night, I asked them with dry cleaning my suits for my interview at morning, and they promised me they would have it ready the next day by 9am, so it should leave me enough time for my job interview (The company I was interviewing for was 5 minutes walking distance from this hotel). However, at 9am that day, no one came to deliver my suit so I called 3 times, at first they were making excuse to keep me patient, and finally they told me that dry cleanings are usually late around 9:30am. But why would they keep the promise that it would be ready by 9? So I waited for another 30 minutes but it's still not here. So I came down to the lobby and they told me it's stuck on traffic, and they don't know when it will come. So I left with my regular clothes instead of my shirt and trousers to the interview. After I flew back home, I saw the bill, and was shocked to see that they charged me for the dry cleaning service. I don't understand, is this a service that Fitzpatrick Hotel should have? It is their fault for not delivering it to me on time. They lied to me about the time and now they are charging me for dry cleaning? Their service is the really disappointing to me, and I would NOT recommend Fitzpatrick Hotel to anyone for their bad customer service.

Review: Hotel, Fitzpatrick Manhattan Hotel at [redacted] improperly levied a $250 surcharge for 'deep cleaning' services pertaining to cigarette use in my hotel room. Hotel did not provide sufficient evidence of any such use. (In fact, guest is allergic to smoke) As well, hotel did not provide sufficient notice to guest of this policy. Any signage or written notice was insufficient and no oral notice was ever given by any hotel personnel.As well, hotel commited bait and switch tactics on guest, offering one rate and then when prospective guest agreed to reserve, earlier price was switched to higher price.When guest realized days later that he had been charged and complained to the hotel, hotel rejected the complaint. In the rejection, both in oral and written (email) versions, hotel admitted (by omission) that there was no oral notice given to guest of the smoking policy. Moreover, it seems that it is hotel policy not to give proper notice.Desired Settlement: I would like $350 returned to me via cashier's check, comprising of $250 for the smoking charge and $100 for the bait and switch tactic.As well, I would like the Revdex.com to investigate and make the hotel change their deceptive and fraudulent practices so other consumers will be protected.

Please see below emails that your client has sent us going back and forth in relation to this matter.

I would like to draw to your attention each of the attachments.

Where it clearly stated that we are non smoking hotel, I have also attached an image of the evidence I would also like it noted that [redacted] did admit to someone smoking on a telephone conversation I had with him and tried to argue the case where we did not verbally make him aware of the smoking policy . I’m sure as you state that he is “ Allergic to Smoke” I would think that every person is Allergic to Smoke it is not clear if he is Allergic to Cigarette smoke as you have stated and I would ask that evidence be provided to follow up same matter. I have given you all the evidence where we as a company have made it very clear we are a non smoking hotel.

The attachment “confirmation letter” was sent to [redacted] the day he made the reservation 09/**/2013 which I’m sure he will still have a copy of where again it clearly states the rates and smoking fee.

I would also like to note the client was made fully aware of the policy of none smoking when he was checked in by a senior member of my staff as you will see she clearly marked with an X also the rates for the room are clearly shown . If you require a written statement on this I will also ask our staff member to do so.

Also your client caused issues during his stay, Below is information the Manager on duty left about his room for me on a online log we keep here at the hotel. If I have to contact the guest who had to call the front desk at 12.50am to complain I will do so and get a written statement of this issue.

As a company we do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our guests and I can assure you we are not in the business of Deceptive or Fraudulent practices.
