Foundation for American Veterans, Inc. Reviews (25)

I recently received a call from Foundation for American Veterans and my FIRST Instinct was that they we're not credible so this is why I looked up their web-site. I also found them to be very pushy to the point of belligerence! This does not set well with me, I am a Viet Nam veteran. I have absolutely NO intention of donating. If your ISP has the app. you can block unwanted numbers from calling you if your phone system is connected to the ISP. If not try calling your phone company. It's great and I have used it many times Now I don't get those phone calls! Good Luck! I used DO NOT CALL list too and IT DOESN'T WORK.

This organization has called my house several times a day for almost three months now. I answered and spoke with what I assumed was a man after listening to several other complaints I now believe it was a robotic machine set up to reply based on your words. I have never spoken to anyone and said I would donate any money to thier organization yet they insist I promised a 30 dollar donation. When I disputed that fact the robot/person on the other end wanted to negotiate the amount. I told them I would never give to an org. that harrasses the people and as a veteran myself I did not trust them. Hopefully the calls will stop if not I will take further action against this bogus company.Do not get involved with these scam artists.

I am very disgusted with this business, Foundation for American Veterans, Inc. They harassed me over and over with continuous calls for donations. So, I finally said I would give $30 and they immediately wanted my credit card number. I said no way, so now they continue to send me a bill for which I have no intentions of paying. Everyone.....BEWARE!

Aweful company what a disgrace to our true VETS. They are now calling from a 720-403-9498 number.

This organization has relentlessly called to see if I received their envelope. They told me that I had promised to send them $25.00. I don't remember ever telling them that. Last call they asked for "their money". I told them that my wife had passed away, and his next words were "maybe you can send just $15.00. Just a cold organization. Advise others not to give to them, they only return 8 to 11%. Such a shame.

About twice a month, I receive a call from this bunch, it's always a male. He asks for me by name, and when I ask who he is, he hangs up. The call comes from 206-512-8478. This inept group should understand that this sort of harassment absolutely negates all efforts to aid war vets.

My experience is simaor to the others. The voice mail is never answered. When I get the recording I ask for a live person. I then receive a person making noise enough that I can't hear them. Silly

Review: I have received numerous calls from this particular organization, from phone number [redacted]. The male on the other end of the phone has always asked for my wife by name. When I tell this person that my wife isn't available the person always rudely hangs up. I have researched this company, and I don't wish to do business with them. I'm a retired Marine Corps Officer and I'm tiried of groups like this trying to hard-sell veterans or their families.Desired Settlement: I do not wish to be contacted by this organization again, under any circumstances.

This company harasses people for solicitations. They several times to ask for donations and repeatedly I told them I was not interested in donating. I finally blocked their number from receiving their calls. Now when they call their call is not answered but they continue to call me 2 -3 times per day even though the call is not accepted nor answered. They do NOT give up. I work from home and it is VERY disturbing to have my phone constantly ringing from their solicitations.

I don't know how they got my phone number, but the Foundation for American Veterans will NOT stop calling me! For the last 2 months, FAV has called me at least once every day; as much as 3 times a day, and as late as 8:40 pm. Further, FAV does not provide any contact information on their web site so I can complain directly to them: no phone, no email, no mailing address. I would not give them a dime!

this business calls my home 2 or 3 times a day as late as 8:30 p.m. Nobody answers and hangs up. I have called back several times and it says their mailbox is too full to take a message. I did leave a message once and asked them to take me off their call list or I would complain. They still call. What can I do to make sure they never call me again?

They have called several times this week. CID says FOUND AMER VETS 209-898-0534. I have not not answered. Last call was 3-8-16 at 8:48PM.

At least 5 to 6 times a day I receive calls from this "charitable organization soliciting contributions". Before you can answer the phone they hang up on you. When you try to contact them to have your number put a no call list they want you to leave your name and a call back number, you never get a return call.

We are experiencing a similar negative encounter with this organization. They call at all hours and many are inappropriate (after 8pm). My mother, who is blind and disabled, is the target of these harassing calls. They are rude and even threatening to her and she often calls me after the calls, shaken by the experience. When they contacted me, I told them that if they wanted to send me the information I would review it first before I committed. they asked me if I could commit to $20 and I said, not yet, not until I review the information. So the next thing that happens is I receive in the mail a "bill" for $20! I was slightly offended by this approach but that was nothing in comparison to the daily calls telling me that the bill is way "overdue". Even if this charity checked out, I would never donate to them just based on my experience with them. My mother is wrongfully under the impression that if we just give them the $20 they will go away. These people act like predators and scavengers. I don't believe for a second that $20 will make them go away but I will be reporting them for telephone harassment to the FCC as they are using threatening tones and language with my Mom.

This group, "Foundation for American Veterans," is a disgrace to U.S. Veterans. They have received numerous complaints for harassing, repetitive, non-stop phone solicitations.
Due to the volume of similar complaints about this group, official complaints need to filed with the State of Michigan Attorney General's office, FTC and possibly even the VA (asking them to at least intervene and admonish this shady group from making these uninvited solicitations). Also most of us (Veterans), find this group casts a negative image on and is an embarrassment to other worthy, legitimate Veterans' organizations, groups as well as an insult to U.S. Veterans in general.
Additionally, it is a well-known fact among all Veterans, that ethical, legitimate Veterans' organizations will not solicit over the phone. In our case, we NEVER subscribe to or enroll in any form of marketing, sales, or otherwise database. We are very careful to ensure that our confidential data is shared only with respectable, well-known, legitimate organizations and then, only for transactional purposes where our privacy is ensured and documented. Therefore, this group, "Foundation for American Veterans," obtained our personal data through questionable, unethical means (we never contacted them, nor asked them to phone us).
As an active member of legitimate Veterans' Organizations, we strongly recommend AVOIDING this group.

Received a robocall from "Steve" at 8:21 AM. Very clever message which sounds live and is apparently voice-activated. When I called him by name, the recording stopped momentarily and then started speaking again. This went on several times until the voice said something along the lines of 'have a nice day.' I will be reporting this to the FTC.

I have had some of the same problems with this company as the other customers that left reviews have had. The way this company does business seems suspicious and I will not be donating. I don't like to go back on my word, but I also don't do business with companies I don't trust. I have never gotten an automated call back pretending to be a real person from any other company I've done business with. I used to donate to another veteran's association until money became tight and never had any problems with them. I will be giving my donations to them in the future. I think it is a shame that any association representing our veterans would do business this way. All members of our armed services should be appreciated and treated with respect.

I have been getting many calls almost daily when I'm not home. I finally answered one last week. The man asked for Andrew. I said you have the wrong number. There's isn't an Andrew at this residence. He said-there's no message I'll just call back later and hung up on me. And he does. Many times. At all hours. And on weekends. I answered again tonight and once again he asked for Andrew. I called him Betsy and he hung up on me. I have tried to call the number o caller id but I can't get him to answer. His number is 606-930-9127.

Review: I received a call from them very early on a Saturday morning and half asleep they said they were collecting for a Veteran's organization. They called me by my nickname not my proper name and thinking this was someone who I knew I said yes it was me. They spoke their charity name so quickly I thought it was one of the groups I do donate to but never over the phone. before I knew it they asked me to donate a set amount of $30 or $50 and being half a sleep-it was only 8am I said $30. I was transferred to another person who wanted by credit or debit card numbers and then I asked who they were and how did they get my unlisted phone number. I was told they are a charity and can get any number they want. They kept asking for my card numbers and then I said no send me their information in the mail but did not give them my address. A week later in the mail I received the 1st request for $30 then 2 weeks later a 2nd request for the $30 and this week a phone message was finally left after receiving calls everyday from the same phone number but no message. The phone message again asked for the $30. I looked them up on Military charity sites and have read the same complaints from others who have had dealing with them. I no longer wish to donate to them and feel I have the right to change my mind. I have never had a charity call all the time or send reminders like it was an overdue bill. I wish they would stop calling and sending me the reminders. I wish to tell Steve at keeps calling to stop and leave me alone. They keep calling at all hours of the day and night.Desired Settlement: I want them to remove my name and number and address from their data banks and never try and reach me ever again!

Revdex.com,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Read that less than 8% of the donations go to help veterans. Not accredited with the Revdex.com. Called their number (720-403-9498) but you can't leave a voicemail or talk to anyone. They mostly call between 8:30 and 8:45 PM. Usually no one on line or hang up after I answer. Blocked their number.
