Review: This company or someone who worked there. Got my card information and stole my identity, it was used to sign a contract with them. After I started having money taken from my checking account for some unknown bill I called my bank. Come to find out French Riviera sells there contracts to paramount acceptance corporation. It took me a year to prove to the corporation that it was not me that signed the contract. Conveniently ever time it faxed or mailed something is was wrong or lost. This is after I contacted French Riviera and got no help because apparently the owner was new and for me to prove it was not their fault I would have to file with a lawyer and it would cost more then the membership, these were their words exactly. So finally after sending the information verities mail proving it wasn't me the other corporation decided it independent want me and refunded me my money for that year. Well shortly after that guess what they started charging me again. I have had to cancel 4 debit cards and somehow French Riviera and paramount acceptance corporation keep getting my new card information illegally. I have filed 3 times with Revdex.com for Paramount Acceptance. I have now resorted to canceling my checking account completely. I have never stepped foot in a French Riviera and they having been stealing from me. Please fix this matter!Desired Settlement: Have them charging me for fraudulent issues. Someone stole my information, it has been proven!

Review: I opened a membership with French Riviera a year ago and when they closed the facility they did not notify me but they continued to take out my monthly fee. I contacted the number listed on my bank account attached to the debit to make contact and cancel this membership. They said they could not help me. The facility was sold and the new owners needed to be contacted. There are no owners. I am highly upset because this seems like a case of fraud. They are collecting fees each month on a place that does not exist. They cannot close the account for whatever reason. I really need some guidance on this matter. thank you, [redacted]Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of the money they took with out providing a service and I want the monthly fees to stop.

Review: Upon joining the gym I was told I was to get a 1 week free trial of a personal trainer. I paid 500 plus dollars for the membership with cash in full for 2 years. They took my credit card info for the PT and told me if I wanted to cancel it would be no problem. Once my 1 week trail for the personal trainer was up I wanted to cancel the service I couldn't afford it. Having a family and all it was rough. I talked to [redacted] who told me to call paramount who handles the billing. Called them they told me I needed my account #. Called gym got account # called paramount back and they stated they would take care of everything. Went to the gym and was told I had to pay on my balance bc my credit card was no longer good and no payments were going through. I canceled that card just to be on the safe side. Well I left the gym and never went back. I again called paramount and spoke to someone else and they told me again they were sorry and would handle it. 2 months later I began to receive phone calls all day everyday 4-5 times a day same # no voice mails left. I called back the # it was an automated system stating it was paramount about the French Riviera and to return there call. I then called again and spoke to someone else who stated they have no record of me ever calling. June 25 I received a collection letter from an attorney stating I owe the gym $8,000. Well I am fighting that bc they was suppose to have been taken care of months ago. I paid for a 2 year gym membership in 2011 and was never able to use it so all the money I spent on it went down the drain. I will never go to another gym again for fear this will happen to me yet again. I have told al my family members, friends and co workers about this.Desired Settlement: I would like the $500 back that I wasted on the gym membership that I was unable to use. Also I want an apology letter of some sort from paramount about all the trouble that I have gone through. I wasted all that money on something that I was unable to use plus all the harassing phone calls that should never have happened. This has been a very hellish ordeal that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

Review: After jumping through hoops to try and cancel my membership with these folks, and continuing to be billed, I finally canceled my credit card. Now I am receiving delinquent bills in the mail.Desired Settlement: An apology for making it so difficult to discontinue a membership would be nice. They could check how many times I entered their facility in the last year and reemburse me the $20.66 per month for the months I didn't enter. (that would be at least 9 months)And of course quit sending me bills.

Review: When I enrolled at the French Riviera and asked about there cancelation policy they informed me that if I canceled within the span of the length on the contract I would be charged the remaining months balance and if I canceled after the contract up there was no fee, all I would have to do is "call" them. Now my membership term is currently over and am paying month to month the French riviera on Lapalco Blvd. is closing down by the beginning of Sept. So I call the number given to me by the employees after finding out about the abrupt closing via walking in to a very small sign yesterday. When I call Paramount, who is the company French Riviera uses to bill people, I am informed that it is in my contract that a 30 day written notice is required before billing is stopped with no clause immediately canceling it for some reason such as, I don't know, maybe the gym not existing there anymore. No letters or emails were sent out informing the members of the sudden closing and when I called no one could tell me if this was going to happen. If I hadn't walked into that gym, I know many members that don't frequent the gym as often as me, would still be getting billed for a service that is no longer available to them. So now I am still currently being charged for this gym for this month and possibly next month that I am no longer attending.Desired Settlement: I honestly do not need my money back from this company, but I think it would be common courtesy to refund it to me and also for them to inform people under monthly contracts that there business is closing at that location by phone or email and make it easier to cancel.

Review: Joined French Riviera in Covington, La.in Nov.2013 for the reputation and availability of classes they advertised. Have not provided what was promised.

Upon first touring the facility, we explained that we were interested in both daytime classes (for myself), and training for my husband. [redacted] and [redacted], who were the owners assured us that there were a variety of classes offered throughout the day, and personal trainers available for my husband. We agreed to join because of the French Riviera name and reputation. I was given a schedule of the classes and when I went in for the first one, there was no one there to give the class, in fact there were no trainers there at all. This happened two more times and the fourth time [redacted] was there but said that there had to be at least five people for her to hold a class. She said she would show us how to use the machines and if I had any questions, I could ask her. I again explained to her that I joined for the classes. She said she was sure after the first of the year more people would be joining. Still with the faith in French Riviera, when we were contacted about a special "biggest loser" promotion, we signed up to receive special classes and each have a personal trainer available to help us. At that time, they promised continual support and ongoing training. We continued to try on several occasions to go when the classes were scheduled into February, but with the same results. We even went one time and the doors were locked and no one was there. I did finally attend two classes but the girl giving the class said that she wasn't going to continue because the pay was too low. The others in the class were complaining that there was never any training available, and French Riviera was not living up to the contract. I tried to speak to both [redacted] and [redacted] about this, but they both said they would get with me to work something out. They never did anything for me. At that time, March 2014, I put a stop on the payments deducted from my accounts and called all the numbers we had for the company. The French Riviera name was removed from the sign on the building. We were then bombarded with phone calls from a company named [redacted] threatening us at all hours for collection. I tried to get names and phone numbers from them but basically they just wanted the money and told me they had no contact info. They told me that our contract was with "any" club that took over. I did speak to a manager during April and he gave me the name and telephone number of the "new owner", [redacted] at [redacted]. The number was disconnected. I then called the manager at the Metairie, La. "[redacted]" and he apologized and asked me to please email him all the info. And he would get it to the right person with French Riviera and they would help us. I have never heard from anyone else there and forwarded that email to him again on May. Yesterday we received letters from [redacted] Acceptance stating that they were referring us to their legal review office. We have done everything we know of to try to straighten this out. We feel that our contract was with French Riviera and since there is no French Riviera in this location and they have not done anything to hold up to the contract we just want out. Please help us with this in any way you can.Desired Settlement: As stated above, we joined French Riviera and only want to get out of this "contract" since there is no French Riviera at this location. In speaking to [redacted] collections, they stated the only way to be released from this contract was if we had moved 35 miles away or had a doctors note. We have not moved, but the closest French Riviera is now more than 35 miles from us. We want no refund, just to be completely out of this contract.
