Thank you for the opportunity to respond to our customers concernMichael & Son Service Inc has made contact with the customer and discussed her concern and also made changes.We recently went to our customers home and regarding her concern replaced her unit with a new system and assisted in replacing her gas line to meet the need of all the products that use gas sources in her homeIn addition we resized her gas valve as well to a pound PSI valveI followed up with the customer as of 1/11/as she appears to be happy with the outcomeIf she has any other concerns she has a direct contact to reach us here at the office.Again Thank you for your help I believe this matter should be closed as satisfied.Vance

Thank you for your letter regarding our customers concern.We are aware of her concern and have responded and scheduled her inspection for December 9, Our customers home required a door replacement and it must have a cumbustion air grill to pass inspection This is typically the responsibility of the customer however we helped and installed the door ourselves Please accept this as our response and if allowed ,close this account as satisfiedThanks Vance

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Answered] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am very concerned with the fact that after Michael and Son received this complaint on Tuesday, Feb 21, I receive a phone call from Joyce, secretary of Glenn in Wilmington, that the part was received today and I am scheduled first thing in the morning to have Glenn replace this particular part, min or so I receive a phone call from Jason, District Mgr in Raleigh, leaving me a message to call him, as I was at work and unable to make the call back he texts me and advises me the part will be received Wed morning Feb 22ndand he can have Glenn out here first thing in the morning or if we can wait till 2pm, I can have a [redacted] rep with him I text him back stating I was told the part was in and Glenn will be here first thing in the morning and that no mention of a tech rep from [redacted] was joining Glenn I have been given misleading information and at this point do not know if the part is in or is not I did speak to Jason on Friday to tell him that I had to text Glenn on Friday at 4pm and was told the part was not in when in fact Friday was the day Glenn was to come and replace the part, Jason stated I will touch base with Glenn and call you back I did not hear from Jason until today, Tuesday I had texted Glenn on Friday, so once again I was not called or notified I had to reach outAt this point I have no faith in Michael and Son and no faith in this unit that should be working at excellent capacity as it was installed less than a year ago I am not willing to settle for another part to be installed as they have had plenty of opportunity to correct this ongoing issue In all the times they have been at my home and working on this unit I have had one follow up call to see if the unit is working properly otherwise again I have been the one that has had to reach out them I do believe they are unable to find the issue or correct the issue and I will be the one further down the road left with additional cost I have had contact with the Manufacturer, [redacted] and spoke with Angela and Cassie, I provided both representatives with my serial number and asked them what is warranted and both of them told me it is warranted for parts and services, I specifically asked them if the unit is not functioning properly and would need replaced would the manufacturer cover the replacement, they told me no it would be up to the company that installed the unit I fell I have been ignored, provided misleading information and discriminated againstAt this time I would like to have the unit replaced with a unit of my choice covered by manufacturer warranty for the entire unit with no additional cost and or a full refund of the pmt I made on the day of installation I will repeat myself once more, I am dissatisfied as a customer (consumer) in the service I have been provided and the product that was installed I am sorry for the delay as I was at work and unable to respond in the min timeframe I was given Regards, [redacted]

In response to Revdex.com Complaint [redacted] Michael and Son Services has issued [redacted] a refund Michael and Son has also tried to call customer to inform him of the refund, the customer has also been emailed giving him his transaction ID number [redacted] The customers refund was processed on 7/27/ The customer has also been sent $store credit, that can be used on any future services for his inconvenience Michael and Son considers this matter closed

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I was an electronics technician in the USAF not that many years ago, so I am familiar with electrical theory as well as the fundamentals of Heating and Air conditioningIf I had had the time, I would have run the thermostat wiring myselfI have a full time job and go to college which makes it difficult to fool around with things that a professional can fix quicklyInstead of quick resolution this is costing me valuable time that could be spent doing other more important things The only original malfunction was the thermostat wiring which needed to be replacedThe first HVAC technician demonstrated to me that the AC condenser unit (outside), operated properly, as well as the furnace (inside), and air handling unit (inside)He demonstrated their proper operation with both the original electronic control board and with a newly installed control boardHe troubleshot and isolated the problem to the thermostat wire which runs from the control board to the outdoor AC condenser unitThe technician bypassed original thermostat wire leading to the AC condenser unit and recommended that all of the thermostat wiring be replaced With the temporary thermostat wire in place, the entire system functioned properly for seven days Per the technician’s guidance, I contacted Michael and Sons to schedule an electrician for an estimate of cost and time associated with rewiring all of the thermostat wireI am still waiting for an electrician to give me an estimate on the cost of replacing all of the thermostat wireIn addition I scheduled a sales person to give me an estimate on replacing the entire system; however, I made clear to the scheduler on the phone that I wanted an estimate for the wiring job prior to any sales callMichael and Sons records all telephone calls and they can listen for themselves to the call I placed on May around In regard to whether or not my HVAC system needs to be replaced, I will withhold judgment until I am satisfied that the thermostat wiring is functioning properlyMichael and Sons has failed to address a fundamental problem with my HVAC system and prefers to just sell me a new one that will probably be subject to the same malfunctions if they don’t replace the thermostat wires Edwin, the HVAC technician stated to my wife that the fuse in question was not the original fuse that came with the new electronic control board and that it must have been placed there by the sales personFurthermore, Edwin stated that this was definitely a problem and that this was not the first time this type of thing happened with the sales person named in the original complaintI have in my possession the fuse that Edwin replaced and it is obvious that the fuse is old and not in a condition that it should have been, considering that the electronic control board had been replaced one week prior Since Michael and Sons is either incapable or unwilling to fulfill such a simple request as replacing the thermostat wiring, I will have to do the job myself or find another HVAC company willing to take my moneyI have been a customer with Michael and Sons for a number of years and have spent a great deal of money on their services At the very least I am disappointed with the service I recently received from their companyNot only did their sales person attempt to take advantage of my wife while I was out of town at a funeral for a family member, he cost me even more time and money by sabotaging my HVAC systemNow that my furnace is mysteriously not working, I am going to have to spend additional time and money to have another HVAC company come to repair the damage done by the sales personFurthermore, a dangerous condition may have been created by the Sales Representative which could subject my family and me to serious injury or even death The course of action taken by a Michael and Sons Sales Representative was despicable, and should have never been allowed to take placeDue to the fact that Michael and Sons has not even tried to contact me to schedule an estimate and installation of the thermostat wiring, demonstrates that a culture of greed and dishonesty is endemic within the companyWhen I see Michael and Sons trucks on the road I’m not angry, I feel sadness and disappointmentI am truly hurt that a company I trusted would attempt to swindle me and even do harm by purposefully damaging what was not previously not brokenI have a two year old daughter as well as several pets that depend on the proper functioning of the HVAC system in my home and Michael and Sons put their health and well being at risk, simply to make a few bucks / [redacted] Style Definitions */ / [redacted] Style Definitions */ Regards, [redacted]

CRACKED RADIATOR IN SIDE BEDROOM/ CUSTOMER TRIED TO STOP WATER FROM COMING OUT BUT NO LUCK/ TURNED BOILER OFF/ WILL HAVE TO COME BACK OUT MEASURE RADIATOR AND ORDER PART/ These are the notes on the invoice that the customer signed for When a customer calls and states the boiler or radiators are leaking we send a hvac or plumber as they both can work on boilers to a certain extent depending on exactly where the leaking is We cannot tell the issue until we come to the home and investigate We came and stated we will order and measure the part The fact that the customer got another company to do it sooner does not take away from the fact that we sent a tech that diagnosed the problem on emergency time frame advised that we would come back and order parts as the supply houses are closed on Sundays We are happy that the customer got the system fixed but there is no refund due nor are we liable for anything or any damages at the customers home because their leaking boiler was turned off The customer can contact their home owners insurance if they are so certain that we are at fault Insurance can always sort these things out easily Thanks

Thank you for allowing us to respond to our customers concern Michael and Son Services did what we believed was satisfactory work Our contracts show that the owner confirmed work by phone and his tenants signed contracts agreeing that all work was completed Michael and Son believes that we do not owe him any money at this time In regards to his refund, these are the prices for the work that was done in his home$for a tune-up, which was a special, it’s normally around $89-$for a general tune-upThe cost of the dimmer switch, unless it is removed, is $and it was installed at the customer’s request We reached out to [redacted] ***, this morning, asking that he contact us directly to see if we speak further regarding his concernsOur last contact with him was on 7/10/and at that time, he stated that he would give us a call back
