Review: On 12/**/12 visited Furniture City at [redacted] and purchased a 2 piece sectional living room couch, a marble table, and a cocktail table, along with a furniture protection plan. Payment of $2,130.26 was made using my credit card, leaving a $1,600 balance pending. We were told delivery would take probably 2 months, and that was fine with us since we were fixing the house from hurricane Sandy damage. On March [redacted] we got a call from [redacted], the same guy we dealt with during visit to store, and he said that the wrong couch had arrived (we ordered a white one, and he claimed he received a black one) he asked if we wanted that one, we rejected and demanded to get either the right coach or a refund immediately as it had already been over 2 months and things didn't look promising. This was last communication with store. A few weeks later we started calling them and no response. We finally visited store last week (we have been unable due we live far) and we confirmed suspicion store had closed down. We never received the order or our money back. Help is appreciated.Desired Settlement: I demand full refund of $2,130.26

Review: We ordered furniture and never received it. Company refused to give us a refund. Tried going through my bank and was referred to civil court. Company was a NO-SHOW at civil court.Desired Settlement: Judgment award amount by Civil Court of NYC is $2,745.00

Response:

At this time, I have not been contacted by Furniture City regarding complaint ID [redacted].

Sincerely,

Review: We placed an order at the very beginning of June 2013 with Furniture City, and only part of the order arrived two weeks later - and that is after I had to call and ask them what the status of the order was. The guy, who barely spoke any English, was very rude and has no customer service skill at all. He said they don't have the furniture. After paying nearly $2000 in furniture, I was surprised they didn't even call us to tell us they no longer had our furniture in stock, even though they let us pay for it at the store, and I had to call in to find this out.

They finally delivered part of the order and ended up break a piece of one of the chairs we purchased.

I was missing a coffee table and now have a broken chair caused by them. I went into the store and the guy told me NO REFUNDS. When I asked when he is going to do about the coffee table we still don't have, the store manager was trying to get us to buy another one. That's right, buy another one even when we hadn't received the first one. It took my husband having to be stern with him to get the guy to agree to send us another similar table at no extra charge. YET, here we are, after almost a month and we still have no coffee table and a broken chair.
