I have attatched a picture of the tire after having the vehicle for a few weeks. The sales person ASSURED me that the issue with the bumpy ride I was having was the rim on the vehicle. As soon as the tire was replaced, the vibration and bumpy ride stopped. I was lied to by an unethical salesman who is backed up by an even more unethical company. The salesman should also know if they are giving customers the correct “spare” key for the vehicle. It is not the consumers responsibility to make sure it works. Customer service clearly isn’t taught well at Basil. The vehicle clearly was not inspected properly before it left their shop and having someone drive on a tire like that could be deadly. Basil should 100% be responsible for compensating a customer they clearly took advantage of and lied to

the customer's factory bumper to bumper warranty is expired. the customer may have an extended warranty . the customer was quoted a $75.00 diagnostic fee if the concern was not covered by the extended warranty. we were not able to duplicate the concern while in shop. we spoke with Jason on Friday 5/19/17 and waived the $75.00 fee. the customer was not charged and we appoligized for the inconvience.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Regards,[redacted] We can go back and forth here the truth of the matter is joe basil is a good man its a shame he has a few bad apples in the place that will soon be taken care of the safety of this vehicle was my first complaint along with 2 other registered repair facilitys also that deemed the truck unsafe and after talking to mr basil in person mr basil said to help this customer and fix his truck for him the following day I  received a call from the service manager that they were unable to repair the vehicle seeing that the vehicle needed too much work  my question then was why he was the vehicle inspected and delivered knowing it was unsafe and needed too much work I refused for them to give me my money back I wanted the truck that I purchased credit score took a hard hit from 7 banks 2 out of the 7 denied a loan due to value of the vehicle being so low to loan anount being 34,016.25. After finding out they would not repair the vehicle I contacted the bank to see what can be done and I was advised that the loan was not for what we agreed the purchase of the vehicle was That being told to me I understood why my paper work was not  received for any of the contracts I signed again I did not sign the MV 50.so going forward  received a call from Cory stating the vehicle will not be purchased back there standing on your own 2 feet and they made up their mind well come to find out the vehicle odometer statement  That you also have to provide to New York State that states do your best knowledge is your odometer reading correct they checked yes and enter the mileage of 88134 which truck was inspected with milage stated 88889 to sum things up they sold me a commercial vehicle that almost killed myself and my 10 yr old son along with a bus full of children and another vehicle after truck went over a bump in road could not control truck as steering wheel went left right numerous times truck went hard left into oncoming traffic. If My statements where not true why would joe basil chevy in [redacted] buy this overcharged unsafe death trap Back from me tonight.so if anyone is fabricating a story its  obviously not me I have a tech in the shop that can confirm my vehicle was not inspected properly. All the paperwork dates are all off how can you register a vehicle to a customer on 10/18/16 when they didnt sign the any paperwork till 10/19/16 besides the mv-50 which transfers owner ship from old owner to dealership to new owner. You cant cover a lie with a lie truth of the mater is you sold to a mechanic and owner of a repair facility and I new more than yous thought about the process and got caught in your scams finaly truth be told your salesman should not give old customers phone numbers out to sell a vehicle yes I said I bought a nice truck but this was before it was delivered to my shop didnt even have it in my possession yet. If yous had nothing to hide why did yous bye it back why not fix it like I asked I have that in writing also your tryed turning around on me stating I refused a buy back and repairs yous see I didnt sign that either. You people are a joke scamming people out of there hard earned money. I promise this is far from over the state is doing a  investigation my lawyer is filing a lawsuite. I have an inside witness that will prove my case is solid thanks for buying your mistake back your lies are now exsposed

The dealership will send the customer a check for the tax on the warranty purchase price.

Consumer called, I have not received the promised card as of yet. My calls there are passed along and I get the run around.

Mr. [redacted]'s claims are completely and totally false. At no time was this vehicle offered to Mr. [redacted] at a price of $21,500. The texts that he has attached in his response are fabricated. The first never came from an employee of this dealership and the second isn't even for the truck that Mr. [redacted] purchased. That is for a completely different truck that is still for sale. I have attached screenshots of Mr. [redacted]'s actual [redacted] page that supports our claim that he knew that he was paying $28,000 for the truck (he ultimately paid $27,800 because we offered him an additional $200 in savings at the time of delivery). Mr. [redacted] reached out to friends on [redacted] to see if they thought our price was fair. It's apparent based on the responses he received that he and his friends knew the deal was more than fair. Mr. [redacted] also made contact with the previous owner of the truck he purchased and was aware of the truck's history and use. Mr. [redacted] even thanked him when he bought it. Furthermore, Mr. [redacted] made several visits to the dealership and was never put under any duress to sign. He knew what he was paying and signed in person. Not a single document was forged as he suggests. If needed, camera footage from our showroom may show Mr. [redacted] in our finance office signing. In addition, the two employees that Mr. [redacted] refers to had nothing to do with the reconditioning, inspection, sale or signing of this vehicle. Their opinion is uncredible because they had NOTHING to do with sale.

Tell us why here...this vehicle has no open recalls per GM. This vehicle was purchased used 11/30/14. The repairs are not covered by warranty and are the customers responsibility. We are not able to reimburse customer for repairs.

A slight bend in one wheel was disclosed to the customer, so they were aware of this issue. The customer sent us a photo of the tire months ago and there is absolutely NO WAY that it left our dealership in that condition. Vehicles must pass New York State Inspection before delivery and all the tires...

on the car were more than passable on delivery. The condition of the tire almost indicated abuse on the part of the customer. If the customer elected to purchase 4 new wheels and the required tires, it is not the responsibility of the dealership. Also, our dealership policy is to deliver a vehicle with 1 key and 1 remote key fob. If the second key does not work, it must be replaced at the customer's expense.

The noise type complaint is not a covered item under any warranties. In the interest of customer satisfaction , we will look at the noise concern one last time. Please set up an appointment to have looked at. Thank you.

The Finance manager who made the error is sending a letter to [redacted] explaining the mistake and asking them to remove the inquiry from her credit report.  That should resolve this issue.

Better Business...

Bureau:Thats is great that the refund is coming.  I was told that my original check would be returned to me, not cashed

To close this case, I purchased and additional card for this customer.  There was obviously some miscommunication on our part.

I [redacted] have two employees working at joe basil that will come forward if need be to prove that there was unsigned paper work as in the mv-50 and registration and another employee in shop to admit the truck was not inspected correct way seeing emmisions system was tampered with and front end was not checked and still an inspector placed a new york state inspection sticker on said vehicle stating vehicle was 100% safe and all systems where ok. I have proof from 2 repair facilitys and a state inspector truck is infact deemed unsafe. Myself john [redacted] and mike the buisness manager all no I walked out do  to the MV 50 having the wrong purchase price on it have to dealership heard me fighting over that they agreed to have a change in at a later time I can sign it that never happened I've dealt with Mv-50s for 15 years and the signature on The mv-50 is forged  I dropped the vehicle back off as myself Joe basil the service manager and use car manager had a meeting they agreed to repair my vehicle had a call next morning that they were keeping my vehicle  due to the fact that they could not repair it  when the truth was they knew they put any legal inspection sticker on the vehicle and scammed me for $10,000 more than what the vehicle is worth every bank denied it except 1 The vehicle was registered and 10/18/2016 how is that  all the paperwork I signed besides the MV 50 and Registration was on 10/19/2016 insurance was added 10/20/2016  and one more thing the mileage at time of sale differs from what is on the title so not only did they forge my name to the mv-50 there paper work has been flagged by ny state I wont back down to many people been taken advantage of  and use keep sweeping them under the rug I'm standing my ground for myself and the others you took advantage of. My family is close with the basil family as they are just now getting informed of this whole transaction the managers are keeping to there selves thank you.

The truck was delivered to Mr. [redacted] with 6/32" of tire tread depth, far more than the 2/32" of tread required to pass New York State Inspection. The dealership has offered to purchase 2 new tires for him and he could purchase the other 2. He felt that our prices were too high. In an effort to...

satisfy the customer, the dealership is willing to contribute $500 towards a new set of tires. If he feels that our prices are too high, he can use the money towards a set that he can find at a lower price.

I do not accept this because I should have been told before I took the test drive and l also had to go back to the dealer a second time to fill out a slip and was not told by the a second sales man that I would not receive it

I am not shocked by Joe Basil Chevrolet's response.  They do not strive on customer service and seem to be very greedy.  We were not notified of storage fees until the very end and received nothing in writing from them.  We asked them to put a new wheel and tire on the front so we could come pick up however they decided to raise the price from $600 on our body shop estimate to $1000 plus charge storage fees.  There are so many holes in their response that it is comical.  Our fleet company has no authority to authorize body shop repairs on our behalf because we do not carry insurance with them.  For them to say that they authorized repairs is absurd.  Not once did Joe Basil contact Jeff Hark or myself prior to us telling them we were picking up the van.  Seems they are making up lies to cover themselves now.
What I am going to do is dispute the charge on my Master Card since they think they are in the right.  The credit card company will ask for written proof that we approved the repairs, which there are none.  They will also ask for a signed receipt of services which again they can not provide one since they never asked us to sign off on these bogus charges.  I am also going to write a letter to  General Motors/Chevrolet stating the dissatisfaction with the dealership and their customer service.  We have 140 vehicles in our fleet and 85% of those are GM products.  I will not let one dealership ruin our reputation with GM products however I want them to know how we were treated.  What I would like to see is Joe Basil come up with a much better policy on storage fees than what they have, especially for customers that have vehicles towed in and do not personally walk in to their shop.  It may be posted in their shop, I'm not sure because no one was willing to send me a picture, but I do know there is nothing in writing showing their storage fee policy.  Jordan in the body shop said his manager told him the policy would be printed on the invoice but of course it was not.  I have a feeling they made this up just to charge us a fee.
I have attached the invoice that "should have" the storage fee policy listed but it does not.  I'm also attaching the body shop estimate.  I will be submitting this to our credit card company as well.
Lack of customer service is the biggest issue here.  We have been in business for over 110 years and we strive on customer service.  If we had treated one of our customer's like this we would have done everything possible to make it right!!  Regards,[redacted]
