We had a auto policy set up by a man named Scott ***. We’ve received multiple emails letting us know our policy is not up for renewal until April 2020. We wanted to get a crack in our windshield repaired and when we called the insurance company they said the policy lapses in Feb. The response we received from the company was “oh I don’t know how that happened! You need a new policy ASAP” but now we have a lapse in coverage and our rates have doubled. Buyer beware!!!! This company should be avoided.

They're a joke. Gallagher insurance is terrible. They never contacted me about our renewal and our coverage lapsed. I've been with them for years and they always emailed me a month and a half in advance but this time they didn't do anything. Its been a circus dealing with them. They point fingers and blame employees that don't work there anymore. They never emailed me or called my cell phone when there was a problem. They don't care about your business. They over promise and under deliver. They make excuses and just collect a check. Zero customer service or follow through. It's not ethical to let your clients coverage lapse and not backdate the policy when you never emailed or called the business owner direct.

Both failed to enroll me after purchasing health insurance, and then cancelled insurance suddenly while I was still paying. This is all without notifying me. I essentially paid for insurance that wasn’t being provided due to Gallagher not enrolling me with United. Would not recommend purchasing group insurance through them.

One of their employees, Ryan ***, posed as a consumer, to receive proprietary information fro our business. Very shady business practices by Ryan

Can you give ZERO stars? No wonder they are not accredited by the Revdex.com. I paid for my insurance deductible out of pocket so we could have the knee procedure for my son and now I am stuck in the red tape world. Not to mention that the only way to communicate with them is through snail mail. Talked to the associate if there was another method and she said that was company policy. No wonder people hate insurance. What a tangled web we navigate. Now I have to wait and wait and wait to get reimbursement.

Not sure how these crooks got my account. I say crooks because nobody at their number answers, they have no public employee directory for you to speak to a representative and when you input for an operator, they hang up (NOTE: Calls aren't dropping, they programmed the system to hang up).

Since May 2011, I have been receiving renewal commissions on Policy # *** for $1,072.69. On 5/9, I did not receive the commission due and called their agent commissions department. I was told that I'd receive the renewal commission (according to my original contract) due once the payment was made by the client. Once again, I called on 5/22 and was informed I'd receive an answer in 72 hours which never transpired. In the meantime, I also called my original Internal Wholesaler (Steve ***) on 5/28, whom I'd been working with since this policy was issued in 2009. Not only did I call him an additional 2 times (6/4 and 6/17), I also sent him 2 text messages (with no response). I also didn't receive any additional correspondence from *** in June. Finally, I called on 7/15 and was told their response time would be 72 hours but that I'd receive a call back within 24-48 hours due to the lack of response in the past. The 72 hours passed and I did not receive a response until today (7/21).In their email, Stephon states that my agent code had been terminated on 6/26/2018 and that no further commissions would be paid. I have been paid every year since this policy's inception (until this year) and there have been years I wasn't appointed with ***.On top of that, no one from *** ever informed me of the termination until I called on 5/9. *** is intentionally not trying to pay my renewal of $1,072.69 and are using the excuse of not being appointed as a way to get out of a financial obligation. It is imperative to note that no one has ever reached out notifying me of the termination and steps in order to be reappointed and keep the renewal commission.

They bought Bollinger inc... I have been trying since April to see my claims online as it says on their website. I’ve called at least over 5 times and have emailed the company on the website... I just received a call today that someone is looking on to my problem.... that’s 2 or 3 months of not being able to track my daughters medical bills...everyone that I have talked to at Bollinger assured me this would be taken care of and now 2 to 3 months later someone calls me back and said they would look into the problem and get back to me... unacceptable

Its been 6 months and still no return of my money. They took it when I paid for the extra insurance but now its been 6 months without my $1200 back in my pocket. They promise and promise its getting pushed through and that they will call back and both are lies. This company is garbage and I would never recommend them to anybody. If I could do negative stars I would. This is a joke and how they have a A+ rating on the Revdex.com is a joke as well. All of the reviews on the internet are 1 and 2 stars so how that makes them and A+ is a joke.

is a very travel insurance company. We had payed for insurance for a trip to Guatemala for my daughter to go with her school. Few months later we were very concerned about the trip because of the crime happening there. It was not safe for my daughter to travel there. We contacted *** filed a claim and they didn’t have a care in the world for my child’s safety and told us that was not a good reason for them to refund us our $500. This is not right what they do and they are a careless company.

Worse insurance company ever. Don't go for the lowest premium which this company offers. Go for a reputable company that charges more but actually stands behind their product and does not make customers their victim.

I had commercial liability insurance for my small business with Gallagher for 5 years. I always paid my premiums on time and never filed a claim. Last year I requested an additional certificate of insurance for a new client I started working for. It took them 6 weeks for them to give me a certificate. This was after me repeatedly contacting them and asking where it was, to which they kept giving me excuses. I've worked with other insurance companies before and they issued a COI within 24 hours. They even emailed me stating they had already emailed it, which was a blatant lie. I told them I was unhappy with their customer service, copied the person on the emails if I wasn't happy. They never responded. What's worse is that all their emails come from a generic "client services" account with no person's name attached to any correspondence, so I feel like nobody is being held accountable for poor service. I started thinking, what if something happened in my business and I really need this broker to help me? I can't count on Gallagher with the simplest of tasks. When it came time for renewal I found another insurance broker who got me the same coverage for the same price. The real difference with the new company is the stellar customer service and quick responses. I would never recommend this company to anybody.

My family used the Gallagher agency in Albany NY for many years. They insured two rental properties through them. On their passing, I paid the premium for a year and then realized that the names on the policy had not been changed. Upon contacting the office I was informed that I would need to cancel the existing policy and reapply for one in the proper names. OK no problem I thought. Next they told me that they would NOT issue a Landlord Policy unless I changed my homeowners AND auto insurance to their agency. I attempted to find out why they would turn down business and basically told "because we can". Too bad that they could not care less about years of customer loyalty. I found no less than three other agencies in the Albany NY area that were more than happy to provide a quote for a Landlord Package W/O strings attached.

I have had a policy with Arthur J. Gallagher for 15 years. At renewal time, I made changes, and was sent a new policy. After I received it, I submitted payment for a whole quarter - this was at least 3 weeks ago. Now, I received a notice in the mail saying my insurance was cancelled as of 4 days ago because they had not received my payment. They asked me for a carbon copy of the check to prove I had written it. I am extremely unhappy. I have been driving around without car insurance for a week without knowing it. I have never been unhappy before but now suspect them of being dishonest.

AJG has recently begun to handle my university's health insurance waiver and I have never had a worse experience with a company. I have been trying to get the my health insurance information, which is valid, for 8 weeks. The waiver would not verify my insurance information due to system error, and when I called (about 12 times over the course of 3 weeks) no one could answer my questions or solve my problem. Once the deadline approached, my school account was billed for the insurance amount of $1242.00. They extended my deadline only for me to find that they offered me no way to send them my insurance; the waiver was expired and there was no way for me to submit any documents, and of course they wouldn't accept any emailed documents. It took 2 more weeks for the supervisor of customer service to figure out a way to upload my documents (she accepted them via email after my many complaints). My waiver was finally accepted on October 16th, 2 months after the deadline, only for me to find out they didn't send over the information to my school. The hold on my account remains today, and I will not be able to meet my enrollment deadline for my next and final semester at UC because of these errors. AJG has been the worst company I have ever dealt with, and I can not wait to be finished dealing with them. They need to handle things faster and more efficiently, and improve their technology to acknowledge valid health insurance.
