when we quote estimate we quote all estimate to every customer as the total plus tax and shop supplies that is how we have done it since I took over here Everyone has to pay tax in the state of connecticut on parts and labor there is nothing I can do about that but I am willing to give him a service credit for the $shop supply charge that he paid so the service credit of $would be towards and future repairs thank you

I am rejecting this response because:I have received many quotes for repair work in my life All quotes include the total amountAdding to the amount after the work is complete is unethical

** *** stated to me yesterday that he actually only towed to our dealership because of the expectation to have a new vehicle purchased vehicle was never in the shop for diagnosiswas only towed in to purchase new vehicle onlywhen asked we mau have just gave him a quick quote while here trying
to purchase a new car but vehicle was never brought into the shop so no documentation was created due to not diagnosing ourselvesI intstructed *** *** that he could contact our office when the office manager was in for a copy of the tow bill that sales paid for him with the expectation that he was purchasing a new vehicle which he eventually did not purchase through usI told him it would take some time to reteive this info because this happened two years ago

*** *** purchased her vehicle from us on 5/22/not in with miles on vehicle we offered to sell her an extended warranty and was declinedShe comes in here for her free oil changes that were given to her for her purchase
The order of accounts
is a little different than she noted so I have dated all entries with mileage
On 9/4/with miles on vehicle she came in with a noise when braking we found the noise coming from front brakes we replaced front pads and rotors and also cleaned and adjusted rear brakes, we also gave the customer new tires at this timeall at no charge to the customer for customer satisfaction even though the state mandated warranty is days or miles so her vehicle was about miles over thatBut we wanted to keep our customer happy
1/25/with miles customer came in with check engine light on we diagnosed vehicle for her again at no charge to customer, told her it was on due to misfire codes said we needed to start with spark plugs and gave her a quote she declined repair and took it to another garage to have them replaced
4/8/with miles customer brought vehicle in for an oil change during our free multi point inspection we informed her she could use a transmission flush again she declined
6/29/with miles vehicle came in for another oil change at that time we found a transmission fluid leak, at that time we were informed b* *** she had a transmission flush done at a local garage and had noticed fluid leaks she said she took it to them after that for it to be checked she told us that she was informed by them that yes the fluid was over filled to continue to drive till the excess fluid leaks out and then it would be finewe informed her that that isn't the case when you over fill the transmission it will blow out the seals and cause the leakShe left and went to them and they told her it wasn't that bad and didn't need the transmission replaced that we gave her a quote to have doneafter numorous visits back and forth with me and the other garage that told her she could get away with resealing the transmission pan but would not take care of the repair for her even though it was due to there error I told Barbara that even though we did not cause the issue Gary Rome Kia would cover the reseal of transmission pan AGAIN at no charge to her even after was caused by another garage doing the damageI also offered to do a recheck about a week later to check the leak
7/8/at miles customer returned for her free recheck and all looked good at this time
That was her last visit to us but some time in November I don't know the exact date because she just stopped in to ask a question about emissions she asked if her vehicle would pass if the check engine light is off, I told her it should but wouldn't know for sure till it is testedShe told me she has no money for repairs or anything so I told her I couldn't help with any repairs as far as money but I would be happy to scan the computer to see if any codes are present to cause her to fail the emissions test and I told her there would be no charge for that
I feel at this time Gary Rome Kia has gone above and beyond to try and help Barbara and to keep her happy

I am rejecting this response because: I acknowledged that the car has had concerns since I bought it I asked that the car be fully looked at and repaired upon purchasing it to the salesman, Mike; especially due to it making sounds and not riding smoothly At that time, I was informed it was the breaks and they fixed itI have to trust that the dealership looked at the car, because that is what I was told The car is a and had approximately 70,which is not typical for a car transmission to even begin to fail I brought the car in for a check engine light very early on I am not a mechanic, I informed them that it was not running well and brought up then that I wanted it to be looked at for concerns with the shifting I even explained that I had this issue once with my old Kia and I was told it was a "computer issue" However, I was told it was an evap issue and it was repaired Nowhere in my documentation was it noted that I stated it was not running well or mentioned the concerns with the shifting The the car continued to run poorly and the shifting was progressively growing worse Not to mention, I was also told on the DAY after my warranty ran out that two of the filters needed to be replaced upon going in for an oil change They were completely ruined, one even had a hole in it Upon talking to Al and Dave on the day that they informed me my transmission needed to be replaced, Al met with me first He stated that I couldn't have brought up the concerns because it "wasn't in the paperwork" thus, calling me a liar He was in no way acknowledging the fact that I had the car for only short months and was in tears sitting in the waiting roomHe then got Dave Who was pleasant, but he began to talk numbers, leases, new cars, etc At that time, I was upset, crying, and frustrated He was confusing and made it sound like they would get me in a new car that day I made it clear that I was not there for a new car but wanted my car repaired at no cost due their failure to follow up appropriately and selling a faulty car He stated he would do his best and talk to someone about my options I again made it clear that the only option was to repair at little to no cost He stated he would be in touch with me as soon as possible I left my car at the dealership due to feeling unsafe driving it I missed several days of work, rented cars, called numerous times and was finally told I would need to pay dollars That would be great if I had the car for more than months and felt as though they followed up with my concerns They did not To top all that off, I am now involved in a payment plan that must be paid off in months or the interest rate goes up to percent! That is absurd Finally, on the day I went in to pick up my car Both Al and Dave were present NEITHER of them came up to me to try and repair the strained relationship Al sat there as I spoke to the secretary and did not say a word to me It should be noted the secretaries in Services are wonderful Both asked how I was and told me that they "felt for me and understood my frustrations" but neither Al or Dave said a word after all of this Ultimately, they did not follow up with my concerns They told me other things were wrong and sold me a car with several issues Al did not call me back as he said he would numerous times when the car was being repaired I had to reach out to him each day for updates so that I would be able to get to and from work, as I was renting cars and finding rides Their customer service was poor and they sold a faulty car without fixing concerns prior to my purchase.
Sincerely,

Tell us why here...I am Al Fontaine service manager at gary rome kia, first I would like to state I never called *** a liar I just advised her that I didn't see any previous complaints concerning a transmission issue. she had come in before for a check engine light which was on due to a evap
canister problem which is an emissions concern only no effects on driveability. due to the fact that she bought the vehicle from us in November with miles we originally offered her a dollar discount from to to repair vehicle then david *** the GM discussed with her about possibility of getting into a different vehicle after that didn't work out I was authorized to do the job now for plus tax for her due to her buying vehicle in Novemberthat was a savings from original quote for customer satisfaction.we believe we have done what we could to make her happythe used car warranty is days or milesunfortunately she had an issue that came up after that and we did everything we could to save her as much money as possible. thank you

evap canister problem which is an emissions concern only no effects on driveability.  due to the fact that she bought the vehicle from us in November with 70869 miles we originally offered her a 1000.00 dollar discount from 4000 to 3000 to repair vehicle then david [redacted] the GM discussed with her about possibility of getting into a different vehicle after that didn't work out I was authorized to do the job now for 1900.00 plus tax for her due to her buying vehicle in November. that was a 2100.00 savings from original quote for customer satisfaction.we believe we have done what we could to make her happy. the used car warranty is 60 days or 3000 miles. unfortunately she had an issue that came up after that and we did everything we could to save her as much money as possible.  thank you

Complaint: [redacted]
The response does not even make rational sense.  The car was towed to the dealership, at their cost, to be repaired (hopefully) at their expense. It is completely unacceptable for a car's engine to blow after only three years. The manager explained the warranty had expired and my only option was to pay over $6000 for a new engine or trade it in for a [redacted] (the only even remotely manageable payment). The car's trade-in value was less then the $13,000 owed. Neither option was acceptable.  The car was well maintained and the mileage was from highway driving. I finally gave up on the dealership and had it towed away at my own expense. The dealership never charged us for the tow which would imply they acknowledged the faulty engine. With a class action suit on this specific year and model, for engine issues, our claim is validated.  Current owners are now eligible for a recall to repair the engine - which I would have naturally done if the engine hadn't failed so soon. I simply want the documentation that this dealership looked at the car, acknowledged the failed engine and said they would only take it as a trade-in or charge me for a new engine.  It is unclear to me, why they are unwilling to do this or claim none of this occurred. The only explanation I have received is that the old manager is no longer there to validate my claim. There is no cost to the dealership and the information I need will be solely used for the recall/compensation by Kia. Kia Motors told me specifically I need this information to be eligible for the compensation.  I am rejecting this response because it is untrue.  [redacted]
Sincerely,

[redacted] purchased her vehicle from us on 5/22/2015 not in 2016 with 43468 miles on vehicle we offered to sell her an extended warranty and was declined. She comes in here for her free oil changes that were given to her for her purchase.

On 9/4/2015 with 49853 miles on vehicle she came in with a noise when braking we found the noise coming from front brakes we replaced front pads and rotors and also cleaned and adjusted rear brakes, we also gave the customer 4 new tires at this time. all at no charge to the customer for customer satisfaction even though the state mandated warranty is 60 days or 3000 miles so her vehicle was about 3000 miles over that. But we wanted to keep our customer happy.
1/25/16 with 57005 miles customer came in with check engine light on we diagnosed vehicle for her again at no charge to customer, told her it was on due to misfire codes said we needed to start with spark plugs and gave her a quote she declined repair and took it to another garage to have them replaced.
4/8/16 with 59045 miles customer brought vehicle in for an oil change during our free multi point inspection we informed her she could use a transmission flush again she declined.
6/29/16 with 62243 miles vehicle came in for another oil change at that time we found a transmission fluid leak, at that time we were informed b[redacted] she had a transmission flush done at a local garage and had noticed fluid leaks she said she took it to them after that for it to be checked she told us that she was informed by them that yes the fluid was over filled to continue to drive till the excess fluid leaks out and then it would be fine. we informed her that that isn't the case when you over fill the transmission it will blow out the seals and cause the leak. She left and went to them and they told her it wasn't that bad and didn't need the transmission replaced that we gave her a quote to have done. after numorous visits back and forth with me and the other garage that told her she could get away with resealing the transmission pan but would not take care of the repair for her even though it was due to there error I told Barbara that even though we did not cause the issue Gary Rome Kia would cover the reseal of transmission pan AGAIN at no charge to her even after was caused by another garage doing the damage. I also offered to do a recheck about a week later to check the leak.
7/8/16 at 62679 miles customer returned for her free recheck and all looked good at this time

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: The business also failes to comment on the engine issues. when the car was brought to them and the engine light was on, the person who checked it generated no paper work. This was done in the parking lot. No formal review of the engine was done. Later, upon returning with the corroded spark plug. the manager on duty admitted that they power wash the engine and water got in. The engine is still faulty. I have added aprox 24,000 miles to this car since purchase. Re: Transmission I am still waiting for an answer as to why [redacted] would state to Revdex.com that the transmission was fine. After the second inspection, the one after they did the work, is when they issued the estimate for a new transmission- how is this fine?re: breaks-I did bring it back, at the following oil change. I was told you had done all you could. There was nothing further that could be done A car that is a 2011, under 100,000 and driven  24,000 in a year and a half does not have these types of problems, unless its a lemon. The problems were all discovered within  6 months of owning the car, and reported. [redacted] did nothing, and doesn't even acknowledge the manufacturers warranty. when the problems resurface to the point they can t be ignored, they hide behind "warranty expired".
Sincerely,
[redacted]

I would be happy to give you any information I had if this vehicle came into the service department for repairs, if it did there would be a repair order opened and then closed and you would have had to sign both copies which we do not have. the only documentation we have in our system is that you came into sales and spoke to a salesman that is no longer with the company and ended up purchasing vehicle at another location per the notes in the sales system.  I have looked since we talked on the phone and show no records of this vehicle ever being looked at for an engine concern. I apologize for the situation but if it did you would also receive copies of this.  this is not a class action law suit with Kia they have come out with a recall 2 years after you spoke to sales about possible trade. again I do apologize but we never looked at your vehicle in the service department.

Only concern about check engine light was on 01/25/16 which was diagnosed for [redacted] for FREE and brought else where for repair, no other concerns brought to our attention on any other visits that she came in for.  But she was told if check engine light was on I would diagnose for free for her to let her know why its on, other than that she could be responsible for repair.
As far as transmission we found the leak on 6/29/16 she informed us as far as what happened at another facility where they over filled it. after going back and forth with the other facility and [redacted] we offered to reseal the transmission pan at no charge to her. (WE DID NOT CAUSE THIS ISSUE BUT PAID FOR THE RESEAL OF TRANSMISSION PAN)
On 9/4/15 [redacted] brought her vehicle in for a brake concern we diagnosed and repaired brakes at no charge to her, there has been no other concerns brought to our attention on any other future visits.  the only time brakes were brought up is a couple a weeks ago she called in and spoke to the General Manager and mentioned brakes. that's the only time

I feel Gary Rome Kia has done all we can to satisfy [redacted] and have gone above and beyond to help her out.

when we quote estimate we quote all estimate to every customer as the total plus tax and shop supplies that is how we have done it since I took over here.  Everyone has to pay tax in the state of connecticut on parts and labor there is nothing I can do about that but I am willing to give him a...

service credit for the $35.00 shop supply charge that he paid.  so the service credit of $35.00 would be towards and future repairs.  thank you
