Generx Generators Reviews (%countItem)

Professional, courteous and knowledgeable from sales throughout startup! Would highly recommend if you are considering a whole house generator.

I rarely write reviews unless I receive exceptional service which in this case I did from Generx who installed a 20KW diesel generator for me.
Everything went smoothly from the salesman to the concrete crew, generator set, and electrical crew. All aspects of the install were performed by Generx employees who were courteous and took pride in their work.
I was kept informed of each step in the process from the office personnel who e-mailed me with the date, time and names of the employees who would show up.
I did a lot of research and obtained quotes from various other company's and am more than satisfied with the work performed by Generx who was the only company who performs all aspects of the install with their own employees.

Great job...and I check with other companies...price was competitive.

Very professional company from estimate, install, and final system check with customer.

I cannot say enough positive things about this company. Everything they promised they would do, they did, starting with the first appointment ending with the walk through. They are an all install generator company so I did not have to find my own electricians and gas installers nor did I have to submit my own permits or call for inspections. Everything was organized and completed in a timely, orderly, scheduled, professional manner by all the Generx employees. I had questions and they were answered quickly, accurately and I understood the process of the installation though out the whole setup. I am so very pleased that I chose this company and have already referred them to several of my friends looking for a Generac. Thank you Team Generx for making this experience so easy and for going above and beyond to make sure everything was completed correctly and on time.

My experience with GenerX was very positive when they just recently installed a Generac stand-by generator for my home. They took care of everything from start to finish, with the exception of filling the propane tanks of course. Both the roughing crew and the electrical crew were professional, friendly and very hard working. The office folks were great as well; very prompt and always pleasant! They made a daunting (for me) project seem like a walk in the park! I highly recommend GenerX.

Awesome company. They really show you what customer service is all about from start to finish. I just can't say enough about them, or their product. They did what they said they would do. They answered my questions with expediency. I can't say enough about them.

We decided to invest in a generator as we were experiencing a series of power outages and it was a part of "hurricane readiness" plan. In a conversation with a neighbor they highly recommended Generx. From the initial call to the final inspection we had excellent service. At the initial site visit, options were explained to us and the entire process from agreeing to go with Generx to the final inspection was made very clear. Everything went to plan with the installation and when the time came to do the test we had a thorough instruction and explanation of what to expect/do in a power outage. The process was supplemented with helpful videos and reading materials. If you are considering installing a generator it is not a DIY project and based on our experience we recommend Generx.

This is our second time using Generx! We used them for service on another generator but this time we had them install a whole house generator for our new property. Rob is fantastic (sales) and the installation guys did a great job. We have been happy with our Generx experiences over the past 5 years and we wouldn't use anyone else. Additionally , we believe Generac is the best generator out there.

Wish you could do zero or even half stars on these. Just off a call with Mark, the owner. After I explained to him everything we ran into with service issues and a persistent leak that's been in existence since we bought the home, he told me I just sat there and lied and made up the entire story so I can place blame on them. Cute response. For backstory, we bought the home a couple years back. There has been a smell of propane coming from the generator since we bought it, but being new to generators, we weren't sure if this was normal. After our propane tank completely draining in a year, it became clear it was not normal (generator running regular weekly tests should only use about 10%). We finally called this company out to do regular service on the generator (which by the way is $300 for them to change an air filter, the oil and a couple other minor things...insanely expensive for so simple a job). After multiple failed attempts for their staff to come out and do what was asked, by their 4th time out, I was able to stand there with their tech to figure out where the leak was - but mind you, I had to insist and stand there with him - otherwise he would have left. He couldn't smell anything and assumed it was just exhaust from pressure buildup. I had to stay with him until the leak was found. Turns out it was coming from a bolt just below a small blue handle that turns the propane on/off to the generator. Mark claims that we ripped a PVC pipe out of the ground on purpose (?) and that PVC pipe, which is NOT connected to the bolt that is leaking is what caused the bolt to go loose (?) and it was all our fault. How a pipe that is not connected to a bolt would loosen it is beyond me - the bolt is connected to the yellow line directly to the propane tank. The PVC pipe is in a completely different location and would not affect a bolt it's not connected to. This guy believes in his mind that every person who calls him is lying apparently. If I took a hammer to the bolt, or ripped out cables, or something wild, I would take the responsibility to fix it. We already paid a plumber to look and see if he could spot the problem and also had to pay an electrician to come and look at the generator power box as our power was going out. You would think this company would warranty its work and be a bit more on top of issues like this. This is the short version of the story - there is A LOT more to it, but it would be a novel of a review, which is too much - the clinker was really the phone call from the owner blaming us (despite all the issues for a month prior to his phone call and my several complaints to them). Told him politely, thanks for your interesting call, but won't recommend your group, let alone use you again. $100 bucks says he replies to this review with some story claiming again that we made it all up. I don't have a reason to make up crazy stories. I want my home to stay in good shape. I've already dropped thousands into it after purchase doing just that, and I will likely continue to pour thousands into it to keep it maintained. We will hire a competent company (who doesn't rip you off) to come and do competent work instead.

Generx Generators Response • Jun 19, 2019

communication on your job was horrible and all I can say is sorry, people make mistakes but I didn't call you a liar, those are your words, however fitting for you in this story. As I told you on the phone, the misplaced PVC line and gas leak were caused by your careless and destructive removal of the fence, which you attempted to deny there was ever a fence. But I still offered to replace the PVC and repair YOUR gas leak, that YOU caused for FREE but you would be responsible for the fuel replacement. Obviously you were embarrassed when the fence removal came to light but the offer still stands, please feel free to contact Brody if you'd like.

Pasco County Gas and Electrical inspectors refused to approve permits. Generx will not return my calls to arrange for fixes to installation problems.
On September 11 Pasco County Gas and Electric inspectors found problems with the Generator that Generx installed for my home and would not complete the final sign off on the building permits until the problems are fixed. They informed me that they would notify Generx at that time. I have tried contacting Generx multiple times via telephone and e-mail since then to have the problems corrected but have gotten no return call or e-mail from them. It appears that they have just abandoned the project after getting their final payment from me.

Desired Outcome

Contact me to arrange dates/times for them to fix the installation problems identified by the county inspectors and have the inspectors check their work for final signoff again.

Customer Response • Nov 09, 2018

The business owner contacted me immediately after he heard from the Revdex.com and had all of the outstanding issues resolved within 3 business days, including the final approvals from the Pasco County gas and electric inspectors. His professional approach when responding to these issues without hesitation or phony excuses has re-instilled my confidence in his company and I will continue to use his company's services for maintenance of my generator equipment.

When we ordered our full house generator we were told it would be completed in 12 weeks. It is now 7 months and it still isn't finished and no finish date in sight. Calls not returned. Received a letter that when finished no city inspection needed before final payment is made. All problems stem from the leadership of this dealer. I made a formal, recorded complaint to Generac home office about this company. Beware doing business with this company they do not follow through with their word.

The final touch to the construction of our new home was to ensure we had electricity to secure our home from intruders and make us comfortable during an electrical outage. After interviewing several generator installers, we immediately recognized the need for an installer that specializes in generators, not just a general electrician. From our original home site evaluation and proposal through the complete installation and inspection, the Generx Generator staff made us feel like valued customers. We are confident that we selected the proper company for this project!
