To Whom It May Concern:On 4/14/Ms*** contacted Genie advising us that the garage door came down on its own as she was getting out of the garage and it did not stop and reverse in timeAs a result she had a broken rear spoiler and a dented garage doorShe called Home Depot for
the repair because she could not leave the door open until our dealer went to inspect the garage door operator. At the time the repair person advised her that it was an interminant issue because after the door was fixed, the garage door opener was tested and function properly.Genie also paid a professional dealer to go out after The Home Depot repair person was out and our dealer advised "door reversed with light pressure to buttom, customer stated that opener intermittently will not close completly."Since our dealer could not find anything wrong with the unit we denied that damage claim. At this time we will reopen the claim, send the consumer a new unit and have the consumer return the old unit for complete testing at an off-site lab. While testing if the lab can recreate the issue we will pay the claim if not then we would deny again.Regards,
