Unable to contact customer service, via online or after phone calls, I was on hold a half hour each time At the beginning on 2016, BC&BS of NC reenrolled me for health insurance against my wishesI have recently obtained health insurance through my workplace and no longer need BC&BSThey offer no customer service through there website, I am unable to cancel the policy there, and after phone calls to their help desk I have yet to speak with a customer service rep despite waiting longer than a half hour each time I have spoken to other people who have had similar issues cancelling there policy with BC&BSThis is after they had major enrollment problems at the beginning of 2015, when they cancelled my policy against my wishes

BCBSNC has caused my family much grief, tears, money, & time, including: Lost payments, refusing claims, taking my children off policy, and much more First, BCBS terminated our policy automatically because of how my husband was making payments (he didn't pay enough of the premium on time, but then made several large payments), of which we accept responsibility However, when he called to get it straight & sent in the required docs & payment, our policy was reinstatedHowever, they failed to reinstate my two young children on the policy unbeknowst to usWhen we did find out, the CSR was supposed to correct the issue Well apparently they did notWhen we were out of state & had to take my daughter to an in network urgent care, they said she didn't have insurance & I could not reach anyone on a Saturday so I had to another Urgent Care since that one was closing & went to another one with a $higher copay within BCBS & pay $out of pocket for her appointment & all services that

I have had the same plans for years now and received shots in my knees that were always PRE-APPROVED and paid for, this year I got pre-approval and then received a $1500+ billSeems they changed their benefits without telling me

I have had insurance for my son, apparently without notice they took him ofcording to one employee if was because I didn't pay my bill ( I was on automatic draft) I was told by the employee that if it was their fault then it could be reinstated..I contacted my credit card company and had NOOOO pending or attempts for Blue Cross Blue Shield to take moneyI then called again and explained what happened then it was sent to a different department and I would get a call back which I never did, I forgot to mention that they also had my address incorrect after I told them we have moved and was never updated....I have been dealing with this now for month and have had to pay out of pocket for my son's visits and medicineI have called numerous times and get a different story every time as they have all the phone calls recorded you should have records of what I have been toldI need my son's insurance and reinversed what I have spent.I have been told to call a number to reinstate in, called they said they had noo records of my son even having insurance?? then I call Blue Cross Blue Sheild again stating I need to write a letter explaining what happened and send months worth of payments in and they MIGHT reinstate itONLY one employee that I have dealt with has been understanding and polite

BCBS of NC refuses to adjust premium due for month following change to policy On 09/13/16, I removed my son from my policy and confirmed, by phone, that the change went throughI was told that the change would take 3-business days to show up on my account but would be effective with the 10/01/billingMy premium paid would be pro-rated to 09/13/and adjusted on the 10/bill which would reflect the new lower premiumOn 09/23/16, I called BCBS and was told I had to pay the old premium for 10/because the adjustments had not been made and the pro-rated amount would show on the 11/billIf I paid anything short of the old amount for the October bill, my policy would cancel on 10/25/I have been told different dates that the bills run: 10th, 11th, 12th and 18thI have been told that BCBS could not tell me what the new premium isI have been told that unless I pay the old premium for Oct., which is $more than the new, my policy will be canceledI have been told

BCBSNC has been an absolute nightmare to deal withI've been dealing with them for months in an attempt to change my billing addressEach time I call, I'm passed around and put on hold for hoursIt's the most incompetent and rude organization I've ever worked withThey never resolved the issueI changed to [redacted] So far, I'm much happier

Premium checks being cashed, but not applied to healthcare insuranceSeveral policies issued and not sure which policy or subsidy was applied I attempted to renew my healthcare insurance through the Marketplace,however BC/BS issued several new policies with huge increases in the premiums and several different subsidy amountsI have spent countless hours on the phone trying to get this resolved and determine if I have insurance or notI also have paid over $in premiums which have not been applied to any policy with Blue CrossIt is impossible to resolve this through the Marketplace who advised there was nothing they could do I do have some medical issues and preventative care treatment to consider

At the beginning of I acquired a BCBS health insurance policy through the Marketplace I had been making my monthly premium payments through their website At the beginning of this month I logged in to find that my policy had been terminated I called to find out what had happened and was told that a payment I had made months ago did not go through so my policy was canceled I let them know that I had not been contacted about this, was never informed that I was in a grace period, and I had been otherwise making regular premium payments every month I was told I should have been sent a notice via post I didn't recall receiving any letter notifying me of this over the last months, and have none saved in any of my files When I told them this, they began looking into my account and were unable to find any indication that this was sent to me After an hour waiting on the phone while they were looking for documentation I was told I had not been informed and they would reinstate my policy While proceeding with that process I was stopped, and then told they found a document that should have been posted to me and that they would not reinstate my policy Currently the only letter I have received regarding this is post marked the 14th of September informing me that my policy was cancelled months ago They still have my premium payments I had been making since then I do not have health insurance and I will be penalized by the government for not having any since JuneI feel very lucky that I am currently in good healthMy partner has BCBS as well -she has her payments auto drafted and on two occasion BCBS's system has failed to draft payments, luckily she caught these errors in time I feel their website/computer system is inaccurate and there is no accountabilityI feel information related to my policy was misrepresented by BCBS BCBS is the only insurer available through the Marketplace in NC and has dropped coverage for the only hospital in my town I am writing this because I feel there is little I can do but share my experience so others may be aware

These guys are criminals and horribleIf the doctor prescribes something and you go to get it filled they reject it then require a prior authorizationWhat the heck, it was authorized by the doctor you isPay $a month which is a deal from what others pay and still have to deal with this ***I could buy the medicine for less that the premium and see the doctorI hope the company goes bankrupt

BCBSNC answered every chat and every phone call, and I do mean EVERY phone call, with the statement that anything said over the phone would not be a guarantee of payment by the companyUnfortunately thats what most of my phone calls to the company were about, seeing as the the customer service chats provided links and websites that were still extremely vague about coverageEven after logging in to their website as an active and paying customer, their benefit explanations were unclear and hazyThey stated that preventative care was covered as is legally required, but not all aspects of a yearly physical are considered eligible by their company; for specific examples, neither the blood test or the pap smear for my yearly physical was considered preventative care and I had to pay separate charges for bothTheir claims page is also extremely difficult to understand, the user interface is very unfriendly and I had to call BCBSNC to get their version of what the terms on their website meant; for example a section on billing is called "your part", but its unclear if this is the copayment, what you may have already paid, what needs to be paid, and if you need to pay it to BCBSNC or if you need to pay it to the medical providerAccording to a phone call, it's supposed to be what the customer now owes to the medical provider; which is apparently also inaccurate as I found frightening amounts in that column only to be assured by my provider that no such balance needed to be paid [so where did BCBSNC get these numbers?]The deductible is a ridiculous amount and half [yes really] my yearly incomeThe premium is also so high, that I actually could have paid the medical bills BCBSNC didn't cover with the money I had been paying themI would avoid them at all costs, I found the entire experience wishy washyIf I'm paying for coverage, a company better have a iron clad outline of what they DO cover, this insurance wasn't ensuring safety or coverage, and it wasn't assuring my confidence in anythingIf they don't know what they're doing and whether or not they cover simple procedures, I'm not paying them

This is a company handling insurance extremely poorI made over different calls to solve issue regarding one of the dental service that was done on Feb 13, 2017, but got different answer each time, and the situation has not been fixed after over monthsTerrible quality control in getting their own systems working properly, when I called last time to complain, and asked to talk to their supervisor, I was transferred to a third party who had nothing to do with the problem

Insurance was Blue Cross labeled a payment, "Suspence," meaning they applied my payment to a non existing accountThey lost $payment!!!! I purchased a new health inspolicy for my son for 2018.the pmt cleared my bank & BCBS cancelled his policy because they misapplied BCBS claimed that the new policy wasn't paid yet the check cleared my bankThey won't return my callsThey have cancelled his new policy for non-paymentThey have not offered to correct their mistake nor has my payment been refundedI don't want the refundI want the policy put into force
