I instructed BCBS to cancel my health policy effective the middle of March 2017, and to refund any unused potion of my premium BCBS did not cancel my policy on the date I requested (March 2017) They canceled it on March 2017, thereby not having to refund my prorated premium I have called them three times to rectify this - Once to cancel, second to follow up and found out that it had not been canceled, and and a third time when the website showed it had been canceled on March - when I had clearly asked ON March that it be canceled immediately They said they they decided to just cancel it on the 31st, and that if I was sure it was to be canceled on the 16th I would need to resubmit it for review HOWEVER, they did not notify me that it had been denied (how can my instruction to cancel be denied)and I had to call myself to find out the status On May 9th at approximately 1pm I was told by the customer service person that it had been resubmitted for revi

Been a BCBS NC member since moving to NC in Been a BCBS member in several other states going back more than years BCBS NC has by far the worst customer service of any of the Blues we have dealt with, and the bar is not that high Given the persistence of lousy service, I can only conclude that this is a treasured part of their corporate culture and there exists a lack of will to try and improve it Most recently, I called to ask why my daughters' premium went up 37% ($308/mo to $421/mo) while her coverage decreased I was told it's because she is growing up; turned in November What a joke BTW, I also have individual coverage with BCBS My premium went up 'only' 32% I was told that's because it's the most popular plan and had more sign-ups The natural dynamic of insurance risk pools is to get more people signing up in order to lower the cost of coverage for all Further proof that BCBS operates in its' own universe, obeying its' own laws

I had a terrible experience with a customer representative named [redacted] , who was completely unhelpful and did not want to provide information about my benefits coverage Since I did not know my benefits coverage, when I went to the doctor, the nurse at the clinic had to call BCBSThey kept her on hold for minutesAt the end, the nurse had to hung up because she could not keep the phone busy for that long I advise everybody to move to another company if possibleIf you like me, have this insurance because of your employer, talk to your HR representatives and let them know how bad they are treating their customersWe pay them a lot for the lousy treatment we receive For them, it's all about denying claims and save money

they did not process application when they were supposed to for my effective start date even though I already made payment My insurance was supposed to start March 1stI already made a payment early mid February ...they have not processed my application yet and it is already March 10th, so I'm unable to login to my account, unable to go to the doctor, & unable to get my prescriptions because they have not processed my accountThey did not keep their word on a March 1st effective date! I'm definitely getting a different insurance and will never get blue cross again!!

BCBSNC has billed me for two insurance policies simultaneously and will not refund the $that they admittedly owe me Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC did not cancel our health insurance policies and they debited us for premium payments in January and February of this year for last year's policy as well as the new plan that we are currently enrolled inThey debited our checking account each month for $for the current years plan as well as $each month for last years planWe have called BCBSNC over times since January as well as trips to the BCBS store in Morrisville, NC to try to rectify the problemsEVERY single person we have spoken to has said that the problem will be taken care of shortly and a check will be mailed to us within daysThe check has never been sent and every time we call back we get the same excuse "I do not see anything about this in the notes."
