Mrs. [redacted],
We apologize for the experience that you've had. It's unfortunate that the initial crack repairs failed....

While it's rare when our initial crack repair fails, we understand how frustrating it can be when it does. Fortunately, you've chosen a reputable company which provides a lifetime guarantee on their crack repair work. We were happy you allowed us to schedule the cross-injection service work, which we have a high degree of confidence in. This should permanently resolve these seepage issues. We want to sincerely thank you for your understanding and patience with us throughout this process.
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 11, 2014/03/15) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
On 2/28/14 I spoke with ** about having the cracks repaired from the outside. I told him that I was happy that one of the cracks would be fixed from the outside. However, I discussed with him that I wanted the second crack repaired from the outside as well due to the fact that the other crack failed five times. I mentioned that it is a matter of economics for both them and me. He continued to decline to fix the second crack stating, "It is not our policy to repair the crack unless it is leaking and it is not leaking now." I stated that I did not want to schedule the repair immediately for the following reasons. 1. The ground was/is frozen. 2. The air conditioning unit has to be moved in order for them to repair. It was/is covered in snow and the company will not move it until the snow melts. 3. The concrete cannot be repaired in cold temperatures. 4. The last mechanic to fix the crack stated that the second crack would not hold. Therefore, we want to wait till the snow melts and we have had a few good spring rains to see if it will leak. This will allow for both cracks to be repaired at the same time just as ** has promised. ** agreed and said that I could call when the time was right. I asked who I should call and he said to either call him or [redacted] and he would make sure there was no problem with scheduling. At this point, I am agreeing to 50% of what ** has offered. While I am happy with the decision to fix one crack from the outside, I am not happy with the decision to not fix the second crack at the same time. Their refusal to repair the other crack at the same time makes no sense. They are sending a crew and bobcat to tear everything up and it will cost us approximately $500 to $600 to have the air conditioner moved and put back. When the other crack repair does not hold (not only our opinion but the opinion of a Permaseal mechanic), they will have to send another crew and another bobcat. It will then cost us another $500-$600 to have the air conditioner moved for the second time. When this occurs, I will ask to either have this complaint re-opened or file a new complaint.

We have reached back out to Mrs. [redacted] after our production manager [redacted] came out to inspect the cracks. We were prepared to set an appointment to fix the leaking crack from the outside. However, Mrs. [redacted] requested we wait until the spring to see if the second crack is going to leak; in which case we will repair both cracks from the outside.

Permaseal hit and cracked our sewer pipe in 2 places under our basement floor while jackhammering to install drainage tiles in 2013. This fact in their own notes. The Permaseal plumber verbally told me that the cracks would not be a problem since the cracks was on top of the sewer pipe and sewage could still flow out from our house. The Permaseal crew manager also told me not to tell our village inspector about the cracks because it would "severely delay their work". I unfortunately listened to them both and said nothing. I now realize how fraudulent their statements to me were. In the next 2 years our basement received sewer water in our basement due to sewer water backup, something that is common in LaGrange, IL. The sewer water came from one of the places where Permaseal hit our sewer pipe because all our basement plumbing is not directly connected to the sewer and one of the cracks is the weak spot. Permaseal is in the business of plumbing & sewers and they knew that a cracked sewer pipe is a big problem in my area. I contacted Permaseal in November of 2015 about this issue. They came to my house and confirmed there is a large crack, but somehow concluded that this large crack could have not been from their jackhammering. After this visit, I wrote Permaseal a very detailed history of this fraud and disagreed with their findings. Permaseal decided not to reply to my detailed claim which was sent to them by email. (they may have realized that I cannot file a claim with the Revdex.com since this work was done 2 years ago...) There was no way to know these cracks would cause a problem until the Lagrange sewer system backed up, which was over a year since their work was done. This is why I am writing this review. A damaged sewer pipe in our basement will be a problem during a sewer backup, as we experienced 2 different times due to the cracked sewer pipe in the next 2 years. I was completely taken advantage of as an uniformed consumer. I am embarrassed that I have done business with Permaseal.

I called Permaseal because I had watermarks on my base boards in the basement. I was given a quote by a friendly salesperson who was not pushy. Ullisses was great. He answered all my questions throughly and was patient. He stated facts and gave me Permaseal options. In the end, I think I made a good decision!

Perma-Seal did offer to have our on-staff trim carpenter make the drywall repairs, but Mr. [redacted] declined this...

offer.
Instead, as Mr. [redacted] acknowledges, he and the Perma-Seal company reached an oral agreement for compensation in the amount of $150, which was mailed on July 18,2014 and validated by his deposit of our check #XXXXX on 7/24/14 (see attached). We believe that we have met our contractual and compensatory obligations to Mr. [redacted].

[redacted] was easy going and informative

The salesman John was excellent to work with, he explained the process and answered every question I had with regards to fixing my wet crawlspace. The installation crew did a wonderful job installing the drain tile and sump pump.

[redacted] fully explained what our problem was and exactly what it would take to remedy the problem

Although the job is not yet finished, our experience thus far has been first-rate. The house was built over 125 years ago with a dirt floored basement. Subsequent work had given us an uneven floor that seeps. Jim * and the Perma-Seal team took the time to determine how the sewer lines run, how the footings were constructed, etc. They handled the permitting. They were out three times before work started to be sure that the job was designed to address all the issues. They were very responsive to our questions. I would not hesitate to recommend them.

We scheduled a 9/30 site inspection with a Production Manager to help resolve our client's concerns.

Jim *. came today to give an estimate on a couple of foundation cracks as well as crawl space encapsulation. He was friendly, thorough and gave easy to understand recommendations. He answered all my questions.

I have to say that we had a really great experience dealing with Perma-Seal this fall. Ullisses [redacted] helped us get the work plan we needed in the amount we could afford. He was always personable, polite and patient while we considered the plan appropriate for us. Looking forward to working with him in the spring for part two!

[redacted] was extremely thorough in his explanation of all the issues that we have in our home.

[redacted] was very clear regading explaining all my waterproofing issues nd only accomplishing what I wanted him to accomplish

proposal session with [redacted] Forcone

I had a total bad experience and was close to be taken for an 8,000 Sump Pump that was not needed. The Sales Rep that came to my house was unprofessional, ie spoke down to me, did not give me a detailed appraisal estimate, said to me that if I gave a deposit that day I would get the job done sooner and it turned out did not return my calls but found time to charge my credit card 1,300+, schedule the date without my agreement. Meanwhile, I got a second estimate from a competitor who took a hose to the problem and discovered that an electric pipe had leaked between a window and foundation wall, price 1000.00. A sump pump he said was for water getting in through ie floor. That was not my problem!

When I called the Sales Manager he did not return my call initially. Bottom line they were out to sell there System Sump Pump to an unsuspecting customer. Fortunately,
for me I got out in the nick of time, received my deposit.

The only reason I considered doing business with Permaseal despite the sales rep was there reputation. They've done a great job of marketing. I learned a valuable lesson.

I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THE ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND EXPLANATION OF PRODUCTS AVAILABLE JIM WAS VERY HELPFUL, PROMPT AND KNOWLEDGEABLE.
