Review: Hello,I mailed in $65.00 for services to obtain scholarship money for my son for college. On several occasions since March 12, the date I sent in the payment, my calls have not been returned. Then today, I spoke to a [redacted] at 888-730-2775 and asked to be forwarded to a spokesperson and she said she could only take a message, so when I asked her for her companies address, she hung up. I am very concerned I have trusted a company for financial aid for my son. I was working so hard on trying to obtain funds for my son as a single mom and when his school was listed on the top of the form, I trusted it and now, in a moment of non chaos, realize I should have never sent the $65 into the company without recieving a promissory note for a scholarship or financial aid for my son. I would like my $65 back from this company, but mostly want you to check this company out as there are several parents like me who are always trying to secure funds for our students for college and if they are not being honest then I want them reported and for parents to know they are not accessible and do not return calls to parents and at this point are not a person of their word.Thank you,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I would just like my $65 refunded back to me as it does say that in their letter in their words, but since I have not received any call backs, have not been allowed to be transferred to speak to anyone and they have not provided any information to me via email, mail or any other correspondence, I beleive I am fairly and justly able to recieve the money I sent to them in good faith returned.

Complaint ID: [redacted] – Ms. [redacted]u

Dear

Ms. [redacted]:

Please advise your clients to contact

us first before filling a complaint. This is the first time we hear about Ms. [redacted]u’s

case and we wished she had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to

assist her. If clients do not contact us, we are unable to assist them. The SFRC organization is in the customer

retention business and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all

students. SFRC is dedicated to exceed

our customers' expectations on a daily basis.

We provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message center

staff, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

As explained on our letter and

website, we as ask students to call our nationwide toll-free phone number at

[redacted] between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM EST Monday through Friday. All

initial nationwide toll-free phone calls are transferred to a local SFRC’s live

operator message call center. We ask them to provide their contact information,

along with the Student Profile Number (SPN) listed on the SFRC letter, and an

appropriate SFRC representative will call them back promptly. Ms. [redacted]u

never left a message for us to call her back (she must call us during our

business hours).

Please

keep in mind that we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Generally it

takes our mailroom department 5-10 business days to process the Student Aid

Profile Forms (mails are opened, SAPFs are separated from payments, payments

are verified and SAPFs information are entered into our computer system).

Once we

have the students information in our computer system, it will take 3-4 weeks to

process it and mail a SFRC package to them. If they did not receive their processing

payment within 10 business days, this means they will be receiving a Student

Financial Resource Center (SFRC) package. We have published all of the target

delivery dates on our website and Ryan L. Barrienau (her son) is scheduled to receive

an SFRC package in the next 1-2 weeks.

If Ms.

[redacted]u does do not wish to wait to receive a SFRC package, please ask her to send us a copy of her cleared check from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and

we will send her a full refund within 10 business days.

Review: This company seeks individuals that are not familiar with the student financial aid processes. They send out letters which look "official" with a government seal - or a seal which looks to be official. Additionally, they request a payment of $65.00 for services that do not require money,I even found out later that you can get this info at libraries for free! I was taken advantage of by this company. I had no idea that these services are free and you don't have to pay for them. When I tried calling their company, no one answers they said they where closed by an automated machine. This is not a business its a scam to take money from people and make them believe there getting financial aid. The company website does not list anything other than to "apply". However, I applied through an "official" looking letter I received. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals. This should be posted on every University's and Colleges website, so no other parent or student can be taken advantage of.Desired Settlement: reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services

Review: The letter specifically stated that if you complete the form and send in a payment of $65 you may be entitled to receiving financial aid/scholarships and if it was determined that you were not eligible, you would receive a full refund back. My check posted weeks ago and still no response has been received. According to a google search when I didn't hear anything back, it appears that this was a scam.Desired Settlement: I would like to have my payment refunded to me plus the amount of the postage, as I am a single parent trying to send my daughter to college and I truly thought thatI would receive some help. Response:

This email is regarding the complaint #[redacted]. My check posted on June 19, 2014, almost a month ago. After reviewing other comments online regarding this agency, others has viewed this as also being a scam and not hearing back from anyone regarding financial aid. This is considered poor customer service. In fact, this is not my first inquiry. I have placed several calls without receiving a response back in a timely matter. Once I receive an apology as it relates to the call center abruptly hanging up on me while I was attempting to ask a question, you will receive an apology. The call center should be adequately trained to better handle matters on behalf of the agency. I did attempt to contact the agency directly without resolution. It is of my opinion that this was a trick thinking that I was actually going to obtain funds to help pay for my daughter's college expenses. I could have gotten theses type of resources for free; I was misled. In researching this agency, I have read nothing but negative comments from other customers about this agency. I can barely afford to pay for my daughter to go to college, therefore I cannot afford to waste my money on a company who does nothing but take money from senseless families. In closing, I have requested a copy of the cleared check from my bank, and I will be sending it to you for my full refund. Thanks.

Review: I helped my daughter fill out a form with Student Financial Resource Center and wrote a check out for $65 as payment for their services on April 23, 2015. We have not heard back from them in any way, shape or form. They have cashed the check I had written to them on May 27, 2015. My bank says it could hardly read the endorsement on the back by them nor could I when looking at the check on line, which worries me even more that something doesn't seem right. I then looked up this business and saw that many people had similar complaints and issues. I am very concerned now knowing all of this. My main concern is for my daughter's personal information that was sent to this company along with my check that has been cashed with no contact from this place of business whatsoever. I am extremely concerned for my bank account information that they now have. I have contacted my bank regarding this and am keeping a close watch but again my daughter's information is also at stake here.Desired Settlement: Confirmation from this place of business that my daughter's information is destroyed on their end, as if we never sent this application in, and also confirmation that this place of business will desist all further contact with my family, bank, etc.

Dear

Ms. [redacted]:

I

would like to notify the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) of San Diego that Mrs.

[redacted] is misrepresenting the truth and the facts in this case. In order to

notify our clients when to expect to hear back from us, we have published the

following information on our Letter, Form and website:

“Once

your refundable processing fee is endorsed, the SFRC Processing Division will

require approximately four to six (4-6) weeks to process your certified Student

Aid Profile Form (SAPF). For more information, please visit the SFRC website

(http://www.studentctr.org), under the “Target Delivery Dates” link, to

determine your package’s target delivery date.”

According

to Mrs. [redacted], we cashed her check on May 27, 2015 and she filed a complaint

on June 12, 2015 (16 days later). As you can obviously see, she did not allow

us the 4-6 weeks required after cashing her check to process her Form and mail

an SFRC package.

Mrs.

[redacted] is also complaining that she cannot clearly read our endorsement on the back

of her check. We stamp all checks with our standard bank information and that’s

how we collect payments. Mrs. [redacted] bank obviously knows where and to what

bank account her check was deposited to. This seems like a bank issue, we are not

responsible or liable for banks photo and imaging quality.

We

utterly disagree with Mrs. [redacted]’s subjective opinion and inaccurate

information about SFRC organization. As requested, we will delete Mrs. [redacted]’s

daughter information from our computer system and will destroy her original Form.

Review: I am a college student living on my own. One day I received a letter from the "Student Financial Resource Center" that had the illusion of being a government agency with some sort of impostor government seal of approval, asking me to apply for the Student Aid Profile Form. The letter states, "Student's can receive, federal non-federal, local, state and need-based financial aid assistance regardless of academic performance or family income. Students can use the money they receive to pay for tuition. Fill out the SFRC form, enclose the refundable processing fee, and mail both in the pre-addressed envelope. The entire processing fee will be refunded to all student's who do not qualify or do not receive financial aid money". Because I am like the many other that were tricked into believing this was a government agency offering financial aid assistance I sent a money order for sixty-five dollars in with my application. The letter states you will have your results within four to six weeks. I sent in my application April thirteenth, it is now August nineteenth and I have not seen or hear anything. I proceeded to call the company phone number printed on the letter only to get this message: "our office is closed, try calling back normal business hours which is Monday-Friday 9 a.m to 4 p.m. I called Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday all within their business hours only to receive the same message every day. I realized this may be a scam and decided to email the business to ask about a refund. I emailed "[email protected]" printed on their letter, over 48 hours ago and I am yet to hear anything. I am worried that this company has not only stolen money from me but I am also extremely concerned with the fact that on the application form I filled out they wanted my SSN, were I worked, what I did with my spare time, my address and other extremely sensitive information. This is defiantly not okay and I appreciate the Revdex.com being here to reach out to.Desired Settlement: All I would like to see is my deposit of "sixty five" dollars returned, thank you for your help.

RE: Revdex.com

Complaint ID: [redacted] – Ms. [redacted] L. [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

I would like to

formally notify the Revdex.com (Revdex.com) of San Diego that Ms. [redacted]

is making very serious defamatory statements with appalling false allegations

against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization. We would

like to inform the general public that Ms. [redacted] is outrageously misrepresenting

the truth and the facts in this case and she has filed a fictitious complaint.

For the record,

Ms. [redacted] is making the following alarming profound false allegations:

Allegation #1: “SFRC

is a scam”

This is absolutely not true. SFRC is an independent organization

devoted to helping students apply for and receive the best available free merit

and need-based financial aid. SFRC conducts general searches to match each

student's qualifications and background to key federal, state, local, and

private financial aid programs that are both merit and need-based. SFRC

provides students with a comprehensive SFRC financial aid guidebook that

explains all of the basics of financial aid and offers valuable tips, practical

strategies, and clear guidelines for applying to SFRC’s specifically selected

free merit and need-based financial aid programs.

Allegation #2: “Illusion

of being a government agency”

This is not true. All of the SFRC literature has been thoroughly

examined and approved by our legal department. We strive to inform students

that the literature sent is by Student Financial Resource Center organization

and to ensure this, we publish the following in our literature:

We have

our name noticeably and clearly in large fonts embedded in our logo,

letter and form.

On the

front page of our letter we have noted the following: "This program

is sponsored by Student Financial Resource Center organization".

On the

back page of our letter we have noted the following: "Student

Financial Resource Center has directly sent this letter to students and it

is not affiliated with any educational institutions or government

agencies".

On the

back page of our form where students must read and sign, we have noted the

following: “SFRC is unable to guarantee results and has no input into the

decisions to which applicants will be selected to receive financial aid

funds and it is not affiliated with any educational institutions,

government agencies or funding source".

We

provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message center staff,

and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

Allegation #3:

“Impostor of government seal of approval”

This is not true. The U.S. Department of Education logo appearance

is significantly different than ours.

The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a

noticeable “TREE” and conversely the

SFRC logo does not. The U.S. Department of Education logo depicts a “SUN” with lines going across and conversely the SFRC logo does not.The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION” and conversely

the SFRC logo does not.The U.S. Department of Education logo imprints “UNITED OF STATES OF AMERICA” and

conversely the SFRC logo does not.The SFRC logo depicts the following and conversely the U.S. Department

of Education logo does not:

TorchBookColumnEagleLeavesGraduation cap

The SFRC logo imprints “STUDENT FINANCIAL RESOURCE CENTER” and conversely the U.S.

Department of Education logo does not.The

SFRC logo has imprints “SFRC” and

the U.S. Department of Education logo does not

Allegation #4:

“I have not seen or heard from SFRC”

This is not true. The SFRC processing

division received Ms. [redacted]’s SFRC form in May of 2015; we processed it and

sent a comprehensive SFRC financial aid package to:

[redacted] L. [redacted]

[redacted] RD APT. [redacted]

[redacted], CO [redacted]

Student Profile Number (SPN): [redacted]

If Ms. [redacted] was

not satisfied with the SFRC comprehensive financial aid guidebook, all she had

to do was to send us a copy of her cancelled check or some method of proof of

payment and we would have been happy to send her a full refund check.

Allegation #5: “SFRC wanted my SSN”

This is absolutely not true. SFRC has ABSOLUTELY NEVER asked for anyone’s

social security number in anyway or format. Ms. [redacted] statement is fabricated and

it is 100% false. Please ask Ms. [redacted]

to provide proof of this shocking false allegation.

Allegation #6: “SFRC office is always closed”

This is absolutely not true. Our

888-[redacted] nationwide toll free phone number from AT&T has been regularly

operating and functioning since the conception of our organization. We have

phone records from AT&T to prove that our phone line is and has been open

and functioning Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM Eastern Time of

every business days. We are not sure whether Ms. [redacted] was dialing a wrong

number or she was using the wrong time zone to contact us.

We vehemently disagree with Ms. [redacted]’s

subjective opinion and extremely inaccurate information about SFRC

organization, please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly

and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to

preserve and protect its interests.

We have also

learned that Ms. [redacted] has sent several offensive emails to us with abusive

and insulting language. We are not going to tolerate this misconduct. We demand Ms. [redacted] to immediately cease

and desist her defamatory and libelous statement against us and submit a

written apology to our organization. Once our demands are amply fulfilled, we

will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service

and we will start her refund process.

To be clear, we will demand the following:

A

written apology for sending offensive emails and making very serious

defamatory statements with appalling false allegations against us. Need

a copy of her cleared check (front and back) from her bank or some sort of

proof of payment to SFRC and we will send her a full refund within 10 business

days. Send a certified

mail to: SFRC - Refund Department3268 Governor Drive Suite 144San Diego, CA 92122-2936 Or She may also

send an email with a PDF file of the cleared check image to: [email protected]

Ms. [redacted], please remove

Review: I believe that this company is a scam...can't believe this has happened to me...I should know better...I sent them 59.00 in hopes of helping my son get financial aid for his college...I thought they had access to other forms of financial aid then what I was aware of...how dumb of me...I sent them a check and we have not heard hide nor hair from this company...in the letter I have it clearly states that if student does not receive any financial aid the entire processing fee will be returned.Desired Settlement: I would love to have my money returned to me...now do I think that will happen? Not so much, but that is what I would like to happen.

RE: Compline ID: [redacted] – Ms. [redacted]

Dear Ms. [redacted]:

I would like to formally notify the Revdex.com of San Diego that Ms. [redacted] is making serious defamatory and libelous statement against the Student Financial Resource Center (SFRC) organization and she has filed a fictitious Revdex.com complaint.

For the record, the SFRC processing Division received Ms. [redacted]’s Son SFRC form in May of 2013, we processed it and sent her a comprehensive SFRC package.

If Ms. [redacted] was not satisfied with the SFRC comprehensive package, all she had to do was to send us back the SFRC package or a copy of her cancelled check and we would have been happy to send her a full refund check.

We have no record of Ms. [redacted] contacting our office or emailing us. In fact, this is the first time we hear about Ms. [redacted]’s case and we wished she had contacted us directly and we would have been glad to assist her. If clients do not contact us, we are unable to assist them. The SFRC organization is in the customer retention business and we strive to provide exceptional customer service to all students. SFRC is dedicated to exceed our customers' expectations on a daily basis. We provide a 24/7 automated phone system, daily live message center staff, and have a website that distinctly explains our program.

We utterly disagree with Ms. [redacted]’s subjective opinions and inaccurate information about SFRC organization, please be advised that we do not take these allegations lightly and our legal team is prepared to take the appropriate legal proceedings to preserve and protect its interests.

We demand Ms. [redacted] to immediately cease and desist her defamatory and libelous statement against us and submit a written apology to our organization. Once our demands are amply fulfilled, we will show our good faith and will demonstrate our outstanding customer service and will start her refund process.

To be clear, we will demand the following:

1. A written apology for making defamatory and libelous statement (“saying we are a scam”)

2. Send a copy of her cleared check (front and back) from her bank or some sort of proof of payment to SFRC and we will send your full refund within 10 business days.

Send certified mail to:

SFRC - Refund Department

3268 Governor Drive Suite 144

San Diego, CA 92122-2936

Or

She may send an email with a PDF file of the cleared check image to: [email protected]

If you would like to discuss this matter further, please e-mail me at [redacted] or call 1-888-730-2775.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The company states that they sent me a package...I did not receive anything from them... I did try contacting them with the phone number I had and it did not work...at that time, I went online to see if I could find another phone number and when I googled their name...I found many different emails/letters advising that this company was a "scam" ... There were many of these letters...not just one or two... I did not jump to this conclusion without some evidence...but, had I received a package from them and not have seen this info online I would not have reported this to you... The fact that this company is asking me to send them a written apology is laughable....I did not do anything wrong. At this point I just would like a refund... Also, I do not see why I have to get them a copy of the cashed check...if they sent that "package" to me as they said they did...they obviously got paid! And, for me to get a copy of said check, will cost me 20.00! There is no reason whatsoever they should request that of me!

Review: This company has sought out individuals not familiar with the student financial aid processes. They send out letters which look "official" with a government seal - or a seal which looks to be official. Additionally, they request a payment of $65.00 for services that do not require money, namely applying for financial aid for college/universities. My elderly mother was taken advantage by this company. She had no idea that money should not have been exchanged. When calling into their "company", it is only an "answering service". There is no one to talk to. The "operator" says that she cannot help, but can only take your name and will email the company and have them call you back. This is an outrage. The company website only lists their answering or call center to "apply" and the email address literally leads no where. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals.Desired Settlement: I am requesting reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services.

RE: Complaint ID: [redacted] – Ms. [redacted]. [redacted] Dear Revdex.com of San Diego:

Please advise your clients to contact us first and allow us sufficient time to resolve it before filling a complaint. As soon as we heard about Ms. [redacted]’s case on April 29, 2013, we contacted her via phone and several emails.

Unfortunately, any organization that requires a fee in the financial aid circle is immediately labeled as a scam scheme. This is not fair and we have to constantly educate and inform others about our beneficial and valuable organization. It certainly appears that Ms. [redacted] has rushed to judgment and seeks to damage the SFRC organization reputation without thoroughly examining our establishment.

We have already refunded Ms. [redacted] (she has confirmed payment via email to us) and we asked her to retract this false complaint and we are also requesting the Revdex.com of San Diego to remove this complaint.

Response:

Hello, thank you for following up with the company on my complaint. The company never actually phoned me, but we communicated harshly (at times) through emails of which I sent copies to investigato[redacted]. Yes, the business has refunded the money, but no, my claims are not false. I ultimately feel this particular situation has been addressed and resolved to my satisfaction.

As stated in my previous communication with the Revdex.com, a refund would be a satisfaction resolution to me and that has happened. Really, it is my hope that other students/parents are not duped by this company, but that is out of my hands and outside of my ability to control.

Again, thank you for your diligence in this matter.

Best,

[redacted]. [redacted]

The "person" or "operator" says that she cannot help, but can only take your name and will email the company and have them call you back. This is a disgusting way of business, actually it is not a business but a scam to take money from people under the disguise of assisting their children. The company website does not list anything other than to "apply". However, I applied through an "official" looking letter we received. This business is terrible and is taking advantage of individuals. This should be posted on every University's website, so no other parent or student can be taken advantage of. Desired Settlement: I am requesting reversal of the $65 paid for these non-existent services along with $52.00 in bank feesDesired Settlement: Refund of $65.00 and $52.00

Review: This company guaranteed financial assistance. No financial assistance has been issued for my child. I have called on several occasions with no response whatsoever.Desired Settlement: I want the money I paid to this company refunded. It was guaranteed I would get my money back if no financial assistance was awarded. I paid $65.00. The letter I initially received specifically states the $65 is refundable.

Review: Services were not rendered - guaranteed a refund if not satisfied.

I have reached out to SFRC via phone on or about 9/11/13 to ask to speak with a rep about obtaining a refund because we never received any financial aid nor information from this company to assist us with obtaining college financial aid. I emailed them on 9/16/13 to request a refund without any confirmation/acknowledgement from them. Again, I emailed on 9/23/13 and to date I have not received any form of response.Desired Settlement: A full refund of $65 - the fee which is guaranteed a refund if unsatisfied.

Hi -

I would like to close this complaint (ID [redacted]). The organization has reached out to me and refunded my fee.

Thank you, in advance, to Revdex.com.

Please let me know if there are any questions.

Review: Miss leading product / service information. Lead to believe that this was a Student Financial aid organization in which you apply for financial aid directly.... All they provide is a booklet with all of the financial aid opportunities that are already available online or through your local College. VERY miss-leading!!!! They also state that you can apply for a guarantied refund if you do not receive any of the financial aid, but when you call after no financial aid is offered, you get a call center that takes your name and number then never get a return phone call.... Crooked business that preys on those seeking financial aid for education!Desired Settlement: Please have them refund the $65.00 that I sent under good faith for services not rendered.

Review: College Financial Advisory (CFA) claims that they help college students to apply for the maximum merit and need-based financial aid programs.A letter sent by the College Financial Advisory (CFA) to my daughter stated that (and I quote):"Fill out the form, enclose the refundable processing fee, and mail both in the pre-addressed envelope. The entire processing fee will be returned within ten (10) business days to students who do not qualify or do not receive financial aid."My daughter filled-out form and enclosed a check for $59.00, and sent the form to CFA by registered mail. The check was cashed a few days later. After several months of not having received any feedback from College Financial Advisory, and since my daughter did not receive any financial aid from the college she attends, I called the CFA at 1-888-730-2775. I was called back by a person called Fay Ara?, and after I explained the situation she responded very aggressively that we should had called earlier, because the time window to ask for a refund was 90 days after the application was received by the CFA.This is not what the letter states (see above). The letter is very clear. It says that the fee will be returned within 10 business days if no aid is got - period. No if's and no claim or refund additional procedures are mentioned at all.We think CFA is breaching a service contract explicitly stated on their letter, and it is doing so across state borders using US Mail service, thus becoming a federal felony.Desired Settlement: REFUND and a written apology for not honoring their contract.

Review: The Student Financial Resource Center said they would do a college financial aid search for my daughter. I paid $65 for a generic "financial aid package," which is just a list of scholarships and grants available to college students. Sixty-five dollars is a high price for a generic list.Desired Settlement: A refund of at least $50.

Review: This company claims to be helping students get additional financial aid. The "package" they sent me was useless and was information easily accessible.

The documents they sent me originally looked like official Department of Education documents and seal. They asked for 65 dollars and did not give me any good information the would apply to me. I feel this company is fraudulent. They information they gave me was for other applications, some of which did not even fit my profile, like they claimed. I would like my money back and I am currently seeking it from the company.Desired Settlement: $65 plus any damages they feel are appropriate.
