GO Financial Reviews (169)

Review: I had an auto loan through Go Credit, my car was totaled and they were paid a settlement in March 2014. After the settlement, I called three different times to contact their Total Loss department regarding any balance I may still owe. They did not return my calls, did not send any statements or collections letters, and did not send me any emails regarding my account. I discovered today May 24, 2014, that they reported to the credit bureau on 4/30/14 that my account was delinquent.

I am hurt and embarrassed that I had to learn this information from a third party source, and that this company lacked the decency to contact me about the balance on my account.Desired Settlement: I want Go Credit to apologize for its poor correspondence and its actions taken against my creditability.

I want them to remove the report on my credit.

I want a chance to settle the remaining amount I owed them.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to address our customer’s concerns.

On May 31, 2013, our customer entered into a Simple Interest Retail Installment Contract when she purchased a 2010 CHEVROLET IMPALA. The vehicle came with a 1 year/12,000 mile [redacted] Limited Warranty. The Simple Interest Retail Installment Contract and [redacted] Pre-Owned Vehicle Coverage agreement are attached for your reference.

On May 30, 2014, we contacted our customer and came to an amicable resolution.

Go Credit has agreed to settle the deficiency balance of $3,930.20 in the amount of $310.00 in certified funds. This agreement will expire on July 31, 2014. Once funds are received, we will update applicable credit reporting agencies to report the trade line as a “SETTLED CHARGE – OFF” status.

Regards,

I have purchased a from car city in whiteville ,NC and my finanice through Go Financial I brought 2005 santa Fe with 79000 miles in 2013 I went to see if I could trade the car in because my payment was $380.00 a month. Go Financial stated they dont refinance cars. Okay I let that slide but I never heard of Financial company whom you brought the car from don;t refine there own cars. One month ago my vechical was recked at fitness center while parked. I reported to the police and my insurance company. The adjuster came out took and estimate of what it will cost to repair the vechical , I informed Go financial of the issues and they informed me to get it repaired. I sent them pictures of the damage car, and I sent the pictures when the car was repaired, now we are at disagree because they state the body and fender man was not certified which it do not state the repaired had to be certified. So now they are refusing to pay the guy and the work is completed. I stated to Go Financial I will take the car to a car city or whom ever they want me to so that car verfiy the car is repaired correctly ,they still refused to sign check to him . So now the repair man is getting lawery to get his money because the car was repaired correctly.

Review: Go Financial has classified my payment as "late" and has charged me a late fee, even though I mailed payments as required and they lost the payment. The bank verified delivery. Go Financial gave me paperwork with their old PO Box (back when they were DriveTime). They changed the PO box for delivery, but never told me. Even with this they processed payment every month for over a year.

Having a late payment is an extreme hardship since I am positioning myself to buy a house. They refused to remove the late fee, even after acknowledging that the error was theirs.

No one will listen to the request to reclassify this payment as one time, and remove the late fee.Desired Settlement: Correction to credit report and removal of late fee.

We appreciate the opportunity to address our customer’s concerns. On January 20, 2014 our customer purchased his vehicle through Carvana and GO Financial is currently servicing the loan. On July 22, 2015 a loan advisor contacted our customer to advise them we had not yet received their regularly scheduled payment for the month of July. Our customer advised the loan adviser that they make their payments through the bill pay services provided by their bank, and we should be receiving payment in a few days. On August 10, 2015 a loan adviser spoke with the customer’s bank who advised us that they had sent the payment to the incorrect payment address. We then received our customer’s payment on August 10, 2015. In April of 2014 GO Financial updated our payment address and informed all of our customers of the change through their monthly payment statements. GO Financial will apply a $5.00 late fee to an account when a payment becomes 15 days past due. However, we will not report to the credit bureau a late payment until the account goes 31 days past due. Our customer’s account has never fallen 31 days past due, therefore no late payments will be reported to our customer’s credit bureau. As a onetime courtesy GO Financial will waive the $5.00 fee that was applied and as a goodwill gesture, GO Financial is sending our customer a $25.00 [redacted] Gift Card. GO Financial thanks the Revdex.com for its ongoing support. Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us by calling us at ###-###-####. Sincerely, GO Financial

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The response is fiction. The response mentions one specific phone call, and makes no mention of the 24 other phone calls, emails and letters that I received to collect this "late" payment. On 8/21/2015, I received a call from Go Financial, and guess what? They "found" the checks that I had sent them. They had them the whole time, just as I had said. The response states that the checks were being mailed to an incorrect address, but the address that they were mailed to is still (at this very minute) prominently displayed on their website, with no mention of the "new" address mentioned in the response.

Review: Unauthorized transfer of funds, unlawful repossession with admittance by [redacted] that the $265 fee that was stated on repo order as past due on nov. 25, 2014 was false . Yet to give actual reason.... Car was taken on Dec. 7. Payments always up to date. This is the 4th day I have still no true answer to any of the actions. But am without my car while they take their time trying to cover up the actions within [redacted]/GofinancialDesired Settlement: To be made whole from the unlawful actions this company has taken from me. Automobile brought back immediately and compensation for my losses

Review: In July(end of July), on a call with GoFinancial, I was told about a payment agreement (extension) with the company to bring the payments current but my husband had to call to arrange. My husband called days later and was told no extension could be placed on the account. We called back together and was offered the information for the extension. A lot of questions were asked (Why we needed it, when did things happen, etc). As we kept getting late calls, we also got calls that the extension was still in process. As weeks went on, we got calls then stating the extension was approved and it was in finalization. We received 3 calls like this from different CSR's. On August 21, I received a call saying the extension was not approved and that the company reached there limit on extensions for the month. My question was how can it take a month for the process, get 3 calls stating it was approved and then not be approved.Desired Settlement: The account is less than 30 days past due. Granted it is past due a payment but we tried to get the account resolved to no avail. Either the account needs to have the payment extension approval as requested and (approved) as we were told or we need to make other arrangements for the vehicle.

Review: Go Financial, for a period of about 10 months have provided inaccurate and misleading information to the major credit bureaus. Specifically, GO Financial is reporting that I made my last car loan payment in September 2014. When in fact, I have made all payments on time without exception. I initially contacted the 3 major credit bureaus in spring of 2015. I was assured that GO Financial was reporting improper credit information. I have called GO financial on several occasions and have received double talk & the run around. This account has been reporting improperly for almost a year. How much more time does GO Financial want to fix this issue. Recently, I sent a certified letter to GO Financial and never received a written response, a plan of action or any words of assurance. This is unacceptable! GO Financial needs to take immediate action to resolve this issue!Desired Settlement: Go financial should correct this matter by reporting payment history for this auto loan from June 2014 to present. The status should reflect "Paying as agreed".

Attached is a copy of Go Financial's response and the credit rating letter that was sent to Mr. [redacted]:Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to address our customer’s concerns. On May 10, 2014 our customer entered into a Retail Installment Sales Contract with [redacted]. for the purchase of a 2009 Nissan Altima. GO Financial accepted assignment of the customer’s contract from the dealer and we are currently financing the vehicle purchase. Prior to the time of sale, our customer had a Chapter 7 bankruptcy that was discharged on February 4th, 2014. In October 2014, GO Financial temporarily ceased and purged all credit reporting to all three major credit bureau agencies. Reporting ceased due to required system enhancements taking place in the manner GO Financial reports to the credit bureaus. We have completed the necessary updates with [redacted] and [redacted]. We are continuing to work diligently to re-establish reporting with [redacted]. At GO Financial, we strive to ensure all of our credit reporting is up-to-date and accurate. At this time, GO Financial has found a resolution to accurately report accounts that have had a previous discharged bankruptcy. We will be reinstating these accounts with [redacted] and [redacted], and once we resume reporting to [redacted], all updates will reflect on the customer’s credit report within 30-60 days. Attached is a copy of credit rating letter that was mailed to our customer on June 16, 2015. We strongly encourage our customer to keep a copy for his records. We will begin reporting again on his account within the next 60 days. As a goodwill gesture, GO Financial is sending our customer a $25.00 [redacted] Gift Card. I was funded through GO Financial in July 2014 and I must say, that given the type of lender (second chance auto loans), they have been wonderful over the last year and a half. In that time, I have had 2 minor issues. One where my payment was not applied properly; and the other where their system does not seem to like my address and it cuts off my apartment number which results in my monthly statements being returned to sender. I have tried editing online and 3 different reps have tried updating it, abbreviating it (by Post Office standards) and for some reason, it still never works. I am grateful they have the online access available now. Hopefully they will allow statement access and loan information (APR, loan terms, etc.) soon but at least for now, I can see my payment history (including principle vs interest applied) and upcoming dates, payment options and contact info.

On one occasion where I called regarding my statements, I ended up asking questions about my loan and the rep was very knowledgeable in the loan amortization process and referred me to some places where I could find more information. She spent a good 30 minutes or so explaining the process and giving me the other resources. She definitely left a great impression.

In the instance where my payment was applied improperly, a rep called as soon as my account was past due to notify me. I did not answer because I was at work so she emailed me asking me to call her regarding my past due account. When I called, she told me my payment was 20 days late (she had been trying to contact me since the 3rd of the month - my bad). I knew my check had cleared so I told her I would respond to her email with a copy of the cancelled check so she could look further into it. Within an hour, she called me back and told me the payment had been located and was with the department that would ensure it was posted correctly, the late fee reversed, and there would be no adverse affects to my credit. Sure enough, I received another call the following day from an agent in the other department letting me know the issue had been resolved and I would be able to see the update online.

This has been a refreshing experience. I have heard horror stories about second chance loan companies but these guys showed me that there are actually reputable lenders available for those of us who are in a bind and/or trying to rebuild our credit. Because of their loan, I was able to buy a safe and reliable car which allowed me to leave my work from home job and find a new, better paying job in my career field. My previous vehicle was not reliable enough to drive any length of distance in a heavily congested city. They have also allowed me to raise my credit score substantially with my on-time payments.

The only downside to these types of loans is that the interest rate is high, however I can honestly say the interest rate is better than an old loan I had through a regular lender on a brand new car when I had a significantly higher score...almost 5% APR better.

As far as some other comments referring to the constant calls, I asked about that because they were calling while I was at work and unable to answer but never left a message. I was told that if a payment is past due, the system will automatically generate the call daily until the payment has been posted to your account. It is a bit annoying but they are a small business and as someone who manages finances for a small company and hopes to be a small business owner at some point, I can certainly appreciate why they do it.

Review: I applied for a loan with Go Financial in March of 2014. I was advised that the company would report to the credit bureaus every 30 days. I found this helpful since I filed for bankruptcy back in 2012 and this would be a way to help me establish my credit. So back in May of 2015, I pulled my credit report from all the bureaus and the loan was never listed. So I called a loan officer at Go Credit Financial and was advised that back in October 2014, there was a issue with the company not reporting and that the issue would be fixed by the end of July 2015. She advised that all the payments that were made on the account would be back dated to the bureaus showing that I was paying on time. So checked my credit reports again on September 8, 2015 and the loan still does not show. I called them back and was advised that my account was being looked into and that they would have it corrected. Today September 10, I receive a email with a attached letter showing that I have made my payments on time. So I called back again and spoke to a advisor by the name of [redacted] or [redacted] and he is now saying that since I filled Chapter 7 prior to taking out this loan that they are not required to report, that my credit score will not change for 7 years and that if he was to request that the payments be reported, that it can be denied. I am very upset because I was given false information from the start regarding the company reporting my on time payments and have been giving different answers to fix this issue. I am very upset about this and I have recommended 3 other customers to this service and know I wish that I haven't. My credit score CAN go up if a person that files bankruptcy is trying to reestablish credit. And to be told that they are not going to do anything is very upsettingDesired Settlement: I would like for the company to go back and report to all 3 credit reporting buearus that I have made all my payments on time for the past 18 months.

GO Financial is currently servicing the loan. October 2014, GO Financial suspended credit reporting for all customers to allow for enhancements within our credit reporting processes. Credit Reporting is a complex area that must be handled carefully to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data that we are reporting to the credit reporting agencies. Credit reporting resumed in May 2015 for customers who had not filed for bankruptcy prior to their vehicle purchase. Our systems required additional enhancements to ensure accuracy in reporting trade lines for those customers who had filed bankruptcy prior to their vehicle purchase. GO Financial has continued to place focus on enhancing our credit reporting processes for all customer accounts, and we are pleased to inform that we have begun reporting to all three major credit reporting agencies. Additionally, we have verified that our customer’s account will be included in the next file delivery to the three major credit bureaus, and our customer’s credit bureau will reflect their exemplary payment history.GO Financial has mailed a credit rating letter to our customer so they can provide to potential creditors.
