Roofing Review: How did we decide which contractor to engage for the project? My wife and I deliberately vetted many roofers over several months to
make sure we were going to get the best quality job for a fair price
Like most people, we asked for referrals from friends, family and
colleagues to help us with our searchIt was quite an experience
Some would quote a range over the phone, some from their truck in our
driveway and most would do the cursory look up at the roof while
walking around the yard Most roofers came to the house in their
trucks, although some were loaded up for things like hockey practice
rather than work
Freddy was the only roofer that showed up in his work truck/van that
was loaded with samples of shingles, vents and other material we may
needHe was very methodical in his assessment of what needed to be
done including taking out his ladder, climbing our roof to inspect and
make recommendationsHe even took pictures to show some damage to
some of the wood from ice dams behind the guttersIn addition, Freddy

job but then "found" additional stuff that "had" to get done after the

Freddy provided a detailed estimate with potential "decreases" if
certain, potential issues were not as bad as expected; e.g3rd layer
of shingles to remove, rotted wood, ect He and his partner Greta
were very professional setting expectations of time, delivery of
materials and trash bin for debrisEverything went as planned, the
crew was very goodThey were able to complete the project in one day
even with the early sun setThey cleaned up as much as possible that
day and then proactively returned the next day to make sure they
hadn't missed any cleanupAnd, best of all, Freddy was completely
honest and fair regarding the "potential" extra workHe went above

When I was looking for a company to install a new roof on our home, I was most interested in hiring someone who was knowledgeable, could provide quality workmanship, and complete the job for a reasonable price

Excellent work This is the kind of home repair/improvement that you've always expected, but have seldom experienced Greta and Freddie were responsive and professional throughout the process The proposal was made after an on-roof inspection Freddie is on-site during the job and the detailed plans made during the proposal are fully carried out The re-roof at my house was on time, on budget and exactly as described Golden Group is highly recommended

I recommended Golden Group to my colleague She also chose Golden Group to replace her roof which was damaged from snow and ice removal during last year severe winter Overall, I am very pleased with Golden Group and highly recommend them for roof replacement

Golden Group removed old roof shingles and installed newshingles including Ice&Water barrier. It was about 3200 SF of roofing.
Additionally, they fixed our vinyl siding replacing about 15 sq.yards of discolored siding with new one.

Starting with very professional presentation by Freddy (owner) and excellent quote, the Golden Group took advantage of early warm days in March. They arrived promptly at 7am (including dumpster) in full force of about 10 people. Perectly organized and working as a team they quickly removed old shingles, protecting the house and surroundings with large tarps (no damage anywhere whatsoever). Then they installed Ice$Water barrier on most of the roof. Finally they installed new beautiful shingles, perfectly and very precisely. At the end they jumped on our siding repairs, finishing pretty much everything by 5pm in a single day! They cleaned everything around the house. Amazing job!

I knew I needed a new roof and contacted Golden Group to ask about their Angie's List promotion. Freddy came to my house to answer all my questions and give me insight into all my options. It was a quick visit, and he did not try to upsell me at all, but was very patient and knowledgeable, and fully answered all my questions. Greta was great about keeping us in the loop with anticipated timing of the roof install. On the day of install, the team arrived around 7am, got right to work, and finished the job in one day. One shingle did fall over the side of the house (where there was no netting to protect the house), and it knocked off a flood light that I have. Freddy pointed it out to me to make sure I saw it before I went to work on the day of install, and he had it replaced before I got home from work. I really appreciated him pointing it out to me so I was aware of it, even though you would never be able to tell that it had happened at the end of the day. These are the kind of honest people that I appreciate doing business with - if only everyone in the industry was as trustworthy!

We can't say enough positive things about Freddy [redacted] and Golden Group Construction! Our request for an estimate regarding re-roofing and reflashing of existing skylights was answered quickly, and Freddy's presentation of options was professional straightforward. The estimates for each option were very reasonable and fair considering the size of the roof and number of skylights (14). Freddy presented pros and cons for each option and we did not feel pressured to choose the "most expensive" one. He gave us the names of places the company had worked on and told us we could go look at the jobs to see the quality of the company's work if we desired. Work on the roof had to be postponed for a week due to bad weather, but once begun appeared to go smoothly. Freddy kept in constant touch to update us on the progress of the job. The crew was polite and efficient. They arrived at the designated time in the morning, and worked way into the evening even though it was starting to get dark. Old shingles came off quickly. Because more bad weather was expected Freddy and his crew worked over a weekend so the job was far enough along so as not to result in problems with leakage when it finally arrived. Work resumed as soon as the weather cleared and was completed quickly. Freddy and his crew worked carefully on and around each skylight, and the completed roof looks great! The crew cleaned up the yard so you would never even know that such a big job had just been completed. Kudos to Freddy and Golden Group Construction! We would definitely use the company again if needed, and would recommend it highly to anyone needing roof repairs/replacement.

Price was right and we went ahead. Freddy was very punctual keeping the appointments and took time to explain the project in detail.
Tearing down and installing roof went fine. Freddy kindly replaced roof on a storage shed in the included price!

The only remark was about the cleanup after the task. I found plenty of nails on my driveway day after the roof was installed. Later found that a nail got into my car tire and it had to be repaired. Thankfully it is just a $60 repair instead of replacement.

Freddy came and rerun the magnetic roller to take care of picking remaining nails. Few weeks later there was a loose shingle fell off the roof and found more nails in the gutter. Though they took care of it immediately (which is very good and comforting to have such prompt service), it would have been nice to do a thorough cleanup in the first time.
