I had a terrible experience with the [redacted] at Goodlife in Oshawa [redacted] Initially [redacted] was personable and persistent on me purchasing a membership and called me twice over the weekend I asked for a trial membership which she disregarded and kept pushing me to sign up for the yearMy husband and I were disappointed that Goodlife didn't offer any discounts for my husband who works as a [redacted] , so we were reluctant to join the gym, but I thought it would be an ideal place since I was expecting a babyInitially, I liked the old staff they hired, but since this recent experience I will certainly never recommend it to any friends, co-workers or family members, and I will continue to share my story [redacted] didn't want to be bothered at this point as I had already cancelled my membership while she laughed about me cancelling my membership [redacted] ( Not Professional) Goodlife has now lost a dedicated member, and lots of money [redacted] There also needs to be resolution with regards to my monthly payment as I cancelled my member ship a month ago and Goodlife is still charging meApril 6th another payment was withdrawn from my account [redacted] said she would have someone else handle it, but who, another unprofessional staff? I also would never recommend the jump programI couldn't use it because as soon as my son cried they came and interrupted my workoutI couldn't even use my jump membership (another reason I joined Goodlife thinking it was a benefit to have daycare onsite) and they told me it wouldn't be a problem cancelling without penalty whenever I needed toThis obviously wasn't the case as when I cancelled Goodlife continued to take out payments as the next billing date would need to be processedYou would think because I was never able to use my membership they should have reimbursed me for the jump membership fees, but no....just another example of poor customer services and additional fees never explained [redacted]

After cancelling my contract of its remaining course of time, I was still getting pre-authorized payments withdrawn from my accountI called to resolve, and get refunded the money they kept taking, to which I only received a cheque for the amount of half the time they kept auto debiting my accountof payments

[redacted] On Feb, 7th, I responded to a â day free trialâ offer in our local paper I had been considering getting serious about physical fitness [redacted] I was serious about committing to a regime in order to live a longer and healthier life I was informed I would have to make an appointment for a tour of the club before I could use the facilities I understood the marketing reasoning behind this and agreed I took a friend of mine with me as he was also considering signing up Before we were allowed to use the facilities, we had to sit through a sales pitch [redacted] He did his job well, and after some negotiations, my friend and I decided to sign up for an â extended trailâ period, and we hadnâ t even used the facilities yet What we negotiated was: trial period to be extended to the end of March, when the 1st bi-weekly payments would begin Because I have to leave the country for extended periods due to my work, he also specified â no cancellation feeâ except he only wrote and signed it on my copy of the contract [redacted] I was supposed to get a call the following Monday from a â Professionalâ trainer in order to set up an appointment for a consultation and suggested plan of action After not hearing anything for two days, (except a call from the office asking when I was going to come in to try my 3-day free trial) [redacted] When I told them I had already been in and signed up, and was waiting to hear from a trainer Still no response Another days later I went in to try the club, but had misplaced the business card [redacted] told me to use for admittance until my membership started The manger of the Club,***, [redacted] he said â [redacted] doesnâ t have the authority to offer you thatâ ¦â as well as some other frustrations Not a good first impression to me He let me in anyway After my workout I approached him about the fact that I had not heard from a trainer and could he arrange it? I also mentioned a few things about the club; [redacted] I also mentioned that instead of being contacted by a trainer, I was contacted by the club for me to start my already started trial [redacted] I finally received a call from a trainer at the club, ***, and made arrangement to come in the following day at 9am My time is limited so scheduling is important[redacted] When I arrived at the club I asked the manager [redacted] where I was supposed to me the trainer ***? He said â in the P.T area.â I said, â whereâ s thatâ ? To which he responded â Didnâ t [redacted] give you a tour of the club either?!â [redacted] Anyway, he directed me to where I was to meet ***, and said he would be there to meet me After notifying the female trainer in the area that I was looking for ***, she said he wasnâ t there yet I waited awhile and asked her if she could try locate him She informed me that the manger was tracking him down After multiple enquiries, after minutes I decided to start my workout, and kept checking in every few minutes or so I was close by During the following hour in the club I never seen the trainer, but I did see the manger ***, who, even after making eye contact with me a couple of times, never asked me if he had found me Not impressed! [redacted] Sincerely, [redacted]

After being a member of the womens only goodlife in *** for years, I decided to try out the gym in my new town of ***
I was so rudely treated by the young man working the desk here in *** that I told him I wanted to cancel my membership rather than transfer and pay double my monthly payments!

I would never recommend this gym to anyone

I work out at your Meadowvale Club (a beautiful club, love it)
Along with doing free weights/machines and cardio I attend classes:
On Monday's I either do the 9:30am spinning class with *** (don't know the correct spelling) OR the 9:step class with ***
On Friday's I do the 9:Yoga Fit Sweat class with ***
I think these ladies are fabulous, from their energy to their personalities they make the classes so enjoyable and they work you hard I really look forward to their classes they are such a joy
We will be moving to Welland before the end of the year and hope that the StCatherine's club and the instructors are as great as the Meadowvale Club

We came in to get a couple memberships since I travel a lot for work, I figured GoodLife made sense since they're in every major cityWe made it clear we were in the area only for a month and we needed the membership to work all across Canada as she goes to school in Ontario and I work mainly in Alberta but do travel a lotThe sales rep said that's not a problem and set up our memberships, giving us a "special deal" as we were going to walk after being told it was 75$ a month each post taxThe "deal" made things more reasonable sitting around 45$It turns out this deal was just a downgrades regional membership (for Atlantic Canada) which made no sense considering what we told the rep and we only found out when we tried to enter a location in our home town and was denied accessFrom that point on everyone I've spoke to says the same thing "it's not my problem"We ended up having to cancel after only having the membership for a couple months since we can't use it any where we actually goI don't know why they'd think we'd sign a year contract to use a gym for 1-monthsBut hey, they manage to fork another 250$ from me to cancel despite the entire situation not making senseThanks for thatOther wise a decent gym, besides misleading sales reps

It is too crowded (at least in Toronto branches)I feel like a mouse in a mazeNot ventilated properlyNo room to train*** *** ***

It is with great disappointment that I write this complaint. I have just experienced [redacted] customer mistreatment at GoodLife Fitness' Dougall Windsor facility. I came to the facility to work out with my group of girlfriends, whom I recommended with rave reviews. They sought to take advantage of the 14 days for 14 dollars promotion. Unfortunately, they were rudely turned away at the door [redacted], left to wait in the car. However, the most egregious conduct was displayed [redacted]. When I cut my workout short to speak to her, while initially polite, she made some very condescending, and inappropriate comments. I informed her that my girlfriends wished to take advantage of the aforementioned promotion, to which she expressed her opinion about how you cannot just "try out" working-out, and that it is just something you have to "get up early and do," mind you, this was after we arrived at 8am on a Sunday. After explaining the situation, and stating that it is the middle of our law exam period, and my girlfriends simply wished to test out the facility, so as to determine whether they would like to extend the trial to a full-time membership in the fall, she then stated, "I wouldn't just walk in to your law office and ask for a free divorce." While I remained calm, and pleasant, I was extremely dissatisfied, and offended with these comments. I then left the facility, and rejoined my girlfriends. We then proceeded to call the facility, so my girlfriend could speak to the fitness advisor herself, and try to clear up the situation - remedying the experience. Unfortunately this was not the case. She spent several minutes "educating" my friends on how exercising works, and on the intricacies of the policy of which we were trying to use.[redacted] After expressing our dissatisfaction with her comments, she then said "my comments or my behaviour" expressing that they were not the same thing. She then proceeded to accuse us of "judging her" and wished my girlfriend to have "the day she deserves". I am extremely mortified, and embarrassed. I most certainly will never recommend GoodLife Fitness again, and depending on the resolution of this matter, will be cancelling my membership indefinitely.

I JOINED GOODLIFE FITNESS LAST DECEMBER AND I REGRET IT BADLY. I HAVE SO MANY COMPLAINS THAT I DONT EVEN KNOW FROM WHERE TO START. I WISH I HAD NEVER JOINED IT. ONE THING THAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS THAT WITH ALL THIS NEGATIVE COMMENTS AND ALL THE PROBLEMS THAT ALL THESE PEOPLE HAVE WHY NO BODY DOES ANY THING. I HONESTLY DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO BUT I AM STARTING A COMPLAINT AGAINST THE COMPANY IF ANY ONE WANTS TO JOIN ME WITH THEIR COMPLAINTS MOST WELL COME. SOME BODY HAS TO START. I NEED SOME INFORMATION REGARDING MY COMPLAIN I AM REQUESTING THIS COMPANY TO CONTACT ME SO THAT I CAN START MY COMPLAIN PLEASE. THANIKS IN ADVANCE

[redacted] On Feb, 7th, 2015 I responded to a “3 day free trial” offer in our local paper. I had been considering getting serious about physical fitness[redacted]. I was serious about committing to a regime in order to live a longer and healthier life.
I was informed I would have to make an appointment for a tour of the club before I could use the facilities. I understood the marketing reasoning behind this and agreed. I took a friend of mine with me as he was also considering signing up. Before we were allowed to use the facilities, we had to sit through a sales pitch [redacted]. Because I have to leave the country for extended periods due to my work, he also specified “no cancellation fee” except he only wrote and signed it on my copy of the contract. [redacted]
I was supposed to get a call the following Monday from a “Professional” trainer in order to set up an appointment for a consultation and suggested plan of action. After not hearing anything for two days, (except a call from the office asking when I was going to come in to try my 3-day free trial) [redacted]. When I told them I had already been in and signed up, and was waiting to hear from a trainer. Still no response. Another 2 days later I went in to try the club, but had misplaced the business card [redacted] told me to use for admittance until my membership started. The manger of the Club,[redacted],[redacted] he said “[redacted] doesn’t have the authority to offer you that…” as well as some other frustrations. Not a good first impression to me. He let me in anyway. After my workout I approached him about the fact that I had not heard from a trainer and could he arrange it? I also mentioned a few things about the club; [redacted]. [redacted] didn't want to be bothered at this point as I had already cancelled my membership while she laughed about me cancelling my membership [redacted] ( Not Professional) Goodlife has now lost a dedicated member, and lots of money. [redacted]

There also needs to be resolution with regards to my monthly payment as I cancelled my member ship a month ago and Goodlife is still charging me. April 6th another payment was withdrawn from my account. [redacted] said she would have someone else handle it, but who, another unprofessional staff?

I joined goodlife fitness a few yrs ago , and out of that few yrs I have had only a little over a year of use out of the pool on [redacted] , I joined this club so I could have use of the pool at that location I didnt realize it would only be up and running 60 percent of the time, mind you 9 months of that was renovations. The pool heater has recently broke down and they say it is fixed but it is not fixed . I swam in that pool for a year , they cant tell me it is heated now, because I only had to do one lap before to get used to the water , now I just freeze. They did try and fix it , but when you try to tell them it isnt fixed yet , they just say yes it is, when it isnt. I since tried to contact head office to tell them all the money they spent fixing the pool heater was wasted unless the repairmen do their job. I used to own a pool so I am well aware of what 80 degree water feels like. I think they might try and get it workiing but they should believe someone when they say the pool is not as it used to be.

I am going to share a very very bad experience that I had in goodlife gym.
I go to goodlife on [redacted] and the manager of this club is very rude and disrespectful. First some team member has a put a note on my key that I have to show my id every time I go into that gym even if I have my gym key. That is completely meaningless as they are even denying us to tell the reason why is that note there.
The first day I went we obviously didnt know that thing is up and I didnt bring my id like usual and the manager scanned my key and asked for my id card. I told him I have my gym key why do I need to show id .
He then told me about the note and not the reason why it is there.
I told him I will show him tomorrow but he denied me the entry.
I told him I live far away and now he replied to me in a very rude way why you come to this club go to other club near your house. dont come here.
Now this is very humiliating as I pay for all cllub member fees and this manager is telling me to go to other clubs.
This is really really very poor customer service.
He also told me that he can put note on anyone and he wont tell why he put that note.
As a customer I have full right to know about my account and why is that note over there.
Please look up to this if you are thinking to join goodlife because I would never recommend anyone because the manager himself is very rude and disrespectful
