Goodlife Fitness Clubs (H.O.) Reviews (27)

Well I have to say I am truly disappointed in Goodlife Fitness, over 15 years of being a good life fitness member I have just decided that I am going to cancel my membership. Went to the gym today to partake in my RPM spinning class forgot my towel asked for a complementary tile which is usually not a big deal I was told that I couldn't because I don't have towel service. Didn't even have my debit card to give them the lousy $2 so I offered to cancel my membership. They told me because I'm still locked into a contract I would be taking to a credit collections agency and my credit will be ruined are you kidding me! A big company such as this willing to ruin someone's livelihood, when they are in the business of doing the opposite.

[redacted]. they will sell you membership but if you cancel you will pay 99 dollars. read the contract carefully. [redacted]

It is too crowded (at least in Toronto branches). I feel like a mouse in a maze. Not ventilated properly. No room to train[redacted]

After cancelling my contract of its remaining course of time, I was still getting pre-authorized payments withdrawn from my account. I called to resolve, and get refunded the money they kept taking, to which I only received a cheque for the amount of half the time they kept auto debiting my account. 3 of 6 payments.

Misled by sales staff

I had a terrible experience with the [redacted] at Goodlife in Oshawa [redacted]. Initially [redacted] was personable and persistent on me purchasing a membership and called me twice over the weekend. I asked for a trial membership which she disregarded and kept pushing me to sign up for the year. My husband and I were disappointed that Goodlife didn't offer any discounts for my husband who works as a [redacted], so we were reluctant to join the gym, but I thought it would be an ideal place since I was expecting a baby. Initially, I liked the old staff they hired, but since this recent experience I will certainly never recommend it to any friends, co-workers or family members, and I will continue to share my story [redacted]

[redacted] didn't want to be bothered at this point as I had already cancelled my membership while she laughed about me cancelling my membership [redacted] ( Not Professional) Goodlife has now lost a dedicated member, and lots of money. [redacted]

There also needs to be resolution with regards to my monthly payment as I cancelled my member ship a month ago and Goodlife is still charging me. April 6th another payment was withdrawn from my account. [redacted] said she would have someone else handle it, but who, another unprofessional staff?

I also would never recommend the jump program. I couldn't use it because as soon as my son cried they came and interrupted my workout. I couldn't even use my jump membership (another reason I joined Goodlife thinking it was a benefit to have daycare onsite) and they told me it wouldn't be a problem cancelling without penalty whenever I needed to. This obviously wasn't the case as when I cancelled Goodlife continued to take out payments as the next billing date would need to be processed. You would think because I was never able to use my membership they should have reimbursed me for the jump membership fees, but no....just another example of poor customer services and additional fees never explained. I truly don't like to file any complaints but Goodlife really didn't resolve my issue. My husband and I have been a member for 5 years using a Corporate rate and my daughter was signed up without knowing that there was a cancellation fee for students under a year of joining, due to the lack of the goodlife not stressing the fine lines of the contract. They knew from the beginning that she was a student and did not accomodate her request. They couldn't even add her to our corporate rate which only made her go to one location only while paying the same amount that my husband and I pay, whereas we are able to go to any goodlife location. She couldn't cancel her membership unless she has been a member for 12 months, nor hold her account. The only way to cancel her membership is to find someone to take over. I was only given an option to hold her account for 2 months. What now? She still has to pay for the remaining year. A student living on Campus away from home. Why are you raiding students? So frustrated, my husband and I cancelled our membership
