Grander Home Loans was a great experience! I started out with one of those "Big" direct lenders and found out quickly how much they don't tell you about fees and such. From start to finish Nate was up front, accurate and very professional. The entire process of my refinance was seamless and on time. I would recommend them to anyone looking to refinance or a new home loan.

I have been working hard to refinance my house for the past 8 months - I worked with 4 other brokers or lending agents and could not find the right combination of low closing costs and accurate appraisals.
One deal was lost when an appraisal came in at 15K lower than I bought the property for 8 years ago and after 100K in improvements. And, in Portland, OR, where right now there is very little supply and huge demand, that's a simply ridiculous appraisal.
Needless to say, I was very frustrated, but decided to give it one more try. Grander Mortgage found me when I put my information out on Lending Tree. I compared 3 other companies' rates and fees before finally going with Grander. I'm so glad I did! Within 3 weeks all the paperwork was in and reviewed, the appraisal was finished (within 1.5 weeks of the request) and the paperwork was signed. The loan, which cost me only $200 (2.75% for 15 year fixed), is exactly right for me and I could not be happier with my experience with Grander.
Nate W is extremely knowledgeable and helpful and was very patient with all my questions. And because I'd already paid for two appraisals, he offered to cover this one for me, which I gratefully accepted. He also let me know that if rates continue to drop, refinancing a second time is an option if it makes financial sense and much easier to do.
I cannot say enough good about my experience with Nate and Grander! The only downside is I can only recommend them to friends in ID, WA, OR, and CA as those are the only states they are licensed in - I had already recommended them to a friend in Maryland when I found that out.
My advice is to shop around like I did to feel comfortable, but if you want to skip all that, I'm happy for you to save time and use my research as proof that Grander is the way to go!

This was singlehandedly the most painless loan experience I have ever had. Mike H was nothing short of amazing. His patience and knowledge was so very refreshing. He was also incredibly helpful throughout the entire process from start to finish and beyond. Even after our loan closed he followed up a couple times to make sure all was going well with the cash out. He really made the process so easy and bearable. I was so impressed with his level of commitment. All in all, I was very impressed with Grander and all Mike's help. If I ever have more need for loans I am most certainly going to go with Grander and hopefully Mike will be there to help each step of the way.
