Review: This company claimed to help me to lower my mortgage. A mortgage modification they seemed good to go so my husband and I decided to go for it. They knew what to say and had all of our information. Kept calling us with updates and then one day they asked for a fee of 2 payment of 2,192.00 US dollars after they cashed the checks they disappeared so we are out a total of 4394. US dollars . I would like to put a stop to these people so they don't hurt anyone else and try and get my money back!!! Thank youDesired Settlement: None

Review: My complaint with The Green Tree Financial Group, is that I have yet to receive a loan modification for my home mortgage. Early November of 2013 I received a phone call from this company about the possiblity of modifying my home mortgage I was excited for the opportunity because for the past year I've been taking care of my mother who's complete bed ridden and her medical expenses are becoming increasing unbearable. The gentleman that I spoke with was [redacted], he was very nice and talk me threw the paperwork and the necessary documents that should be completed. Soon after that I was told that I would qualify for a principle reduction in my mortgage to 105,900 and that my mortgage rate would be 2% for the next 6 years which would bring my mortgage payment to 1073.44 including escrow and for the 7 year-22year my mortage rate would be 4% making my payment 1281.09 including escrow all I need to do was send them a check in the amount of $2995.00 before December 12,2013 for the processing fee.(this was sent by certified mail)I was content with [redacted], but my case was given to someone else I think her name is Ghea Luber, she left me a voice mail on December 16,2013 stating she would be my contact person for my loan modification and today I'm not sure if I've ever spoken with her, her voicemail is consistently full. Iv'e never been able to leave a message, on 01/27/14 I spoke with someone name Ashley and she asked me to fax my last 2 paycheck stubs, bank statement, and a transcript of my income tax 2011, she also told me to give her a couple of days and she will get back in touch with me, I'm still waiting for her call and we are well into the month of February. Recently my monthly mortage payment has increased to $1750/mth because of an escrow account shortage because I didn't have enough money in my bank account to cover the difference this is becoming increasing stressful and I also email [redacted] 1/24/14 just asking for help or what can I do next and he never respond to my email, please helpDesired Settlement: A full refund of my money or process my application for my loan modification or tell me how long does this process take, clear your voice mail, return a phone call, send and email, give me updates on what is going on, treat me the way you did before you took my money!!!

Review: They took $ 3,295.00 from me for a home loan remodification. Once they had payment things stopped. They have not returned phone calls and did nothing to our current home loan. I believe this is a scam. This has left us in a very bad place financially. I need your help. If you need copies of documents I can fax to you. Thank you.Desired Settlement: I must have the money they stole. My husband is handicapped and I am currently unemployed. We are trying to save our home and this so called company has made that almost impossible. Please help!

Review: We were contacted by Green Tree Financial Group Feb 4,2014 it was a telemarketing call, my husband believes the first guy's name was [redacted] but he can't remember for sure. He told him that we qualified for one of the new government payment reduction programs and that they were working with our bank [redacted] to get people into lower payments by refinancing or a loan modification on their homes, he asked my husband our current interest rate and he gave that information to the guy who instructed my husband some one from the Co would contact him within 24 hrs. The next day we got a call from [redacted] who stated that we did in fact qualify for the new HARP program that they could reduce our interest rate from 7.25% down to 4.00%, he asked for more information from us and verified everything he had on file with my husband. He than sent us an email with information that they would need to start the process, we looked it over and everything looked ok. We than got a call from [redacted] within 1 or 2 business days after speaking to [redacted] told us he worked in with the lenders of the bank in the finance dept and that we did qualify for a interest rate reduction, the weekend of February is when they sent us paperwork to fill out and mail back to them via Fed Ex, USPS, UPS we needed a tracking number so we could track the package on our behalf, on Feb 24 is when I sent the information to them with a Check as they stated in the paperwork for $2540.00 for our closing cost and that no other money was needed going forward, they received the envelope the next day Feb 25th. We got a call from a girl named [redacted] who informed us she had to go over some information to make sure they had it correct and ready to process she informed us we would hear from her within 3-7 business days, on Feb 26 they cashed our check at [redacted] and never heard from them again. We have tried to make numerous attempts no one calls back. We have contacted our local police and LA police for investigation on this.Desired Settlement: I would like to retrieve all money I sent them, this is fraud and a scam there is a website called RipOff.com where others like myself have placed complaints about this Co as well and the detective in LA had another call yesterday about the same thing I just explained.

Review: I was contacted by company and the representative stated that they could assist me in refinancing my home. I sent all of my personal information as the documents seemed legit. Mr. [redacted] called me back and stated that I was approved for a HAMP. I never heard from him after he stated I was approved and the contact numbers never routed me to a person after this. The company address used 575 Anton Blvd Suite 300Costa Mesa, CA 92626Office # [redacted]3 ext[redacted]Desired Settlement: I seek letter sent to my bank and some sort of fraud protection

Review: I was solicited by phone to modify my mortgage loan, by a telemarkerter named [redacted], who explained our eligibility to participtate in a government program for Loan Modification. He said he would pass our information onto a loan officer who would be contacting us regarding our Loan. From there we were contacted by a person named [redacted] who called us every Tuesday, asking us specifics and came back with an offer supposedly approved by our mortgage company. He claimed he had a special connection with the wholesale department of our Loan company, which overode the Loss Mitigation Department. He gained our trust by contacting us every Tuesday explaining what our savings would be and how we could come out of our short sale and modify permanently. When we finally committed that we were going to try this, He gave us the total we had to pay, and an extremely significant savings on our mortgage. I always felt in the back of my mind that this was too good to be true. I kept questioning him about the lack of communication from our mortgage company, for a point of contact, he kept explaining about the backlog they had and that we would receive something shortly. We post-dated three checks, 2 in December and 1 in January, totaling $4895, sent them certified mail ($21.86). He called to let us know he received the checks. Then put us in touch with processors of his company([redacted] and [redacted]) who requested the information that they passed on to the bank and that we were assured that what they quoted us we would receive in an offer from the bank. They kept asking us for information. Finally we did receive an offer from the bank, but it in no way resembled what was promised to us. His contract, also states that if we are not satisfied with the results to contact them, for a prompt refund. I have been trying for a month to speak with any of them at all the numbers and emailing them, but I haven't had any response, I did talk to my mortgage company and found out that they are still in touch with them.Desired Settlement: Full refund of all money sent $4895 + 21.86 for Registered mail. Also I found out it is against the law to take money up front for services not performed. I would also like for them to be shut down and persecuted for fraud, I found I am not alone in this matter. I tried to get my money back from the bank to no avail.

Review: I received a phone call back in September to October of 2013 from a Mr. [redacted] from Green tree financial group offering me a loan modification on my property. The application with applicable documents was sent to me, which I completed and returned to them with 2 post dated checks for $1847.50 each, totaling $3,695.00.Mr. [redacted] kept in touch with me on a weekly basis, supposedly keeping me up to date on the progress of my modification. The last phone call I received was on January 21st, 2014 informing me that within a week I would be receiving my new statement with details from my mortgage company which is [redacted]. The 2nd check was cashed on November 30th, 2013.I have been trying to contact Mr. [redacted] since Jan. 21st to no avail. and have left several messages with no return calls. I received a call from someone by the name of [redacted] approximately during the 1st or second week of February, 2014 asking for more documents, She was very vague and did not even give me a fax number when I asked for it. She claimed that she worked with Green tree financial. I have since tried to contact this person several times to no avail. I received a call from Mr. [redacted] from my mortgage company, [redacted], on February 19th, 2014, saying that they did not normally reach out to customers who have a third party involved when doing a loan modification but that they have not been able to contact anyone at Green Tree Financial Group. The mortgage company told me that they informed Green Tree since December, 2013 that they needed a few more documents and received no response. I was not notified of this from Green Tree Financial. [redacted] informed me that the only reason they called me is because they could not reach anyone at Green Tree. They were about to cancel the modification process for this reason.Desired Settlement: Refund of funds I paid for modification, $3695.00, which they promised to complete. I also have a copy of the Legal Team-Client Fee Agreement.

Review: We were contacted by Green Tree, a [redacted] was the loan officer. They were going to approve us for a loan modification. We faxed everything they needed. On April 11, 2014, they provided us with an approval letter from our second mortgage. They asked for $2,695 to proceed. We overnighted a check to them. We then started receiving corespondence from our first lien holder about a loan modification. We provided all the documents. Then, received a decline letter from our mortgage holder.

We have since tried to get people from Green Tree to respond to calls and emails and get no answer. We want our money back. [redacted] told us that we would get our money back should our loan not go through!Desired Settlement: $2,695

Review: We were trying to do a loan modification with GreenTree Financial Group and was told we would receive 100% money back if our bank would not work with them. We sent almost 3000 dollars to them for closing and processing costs. We have attempted numerous times to get in contact with[redacted] at [redacted] and [redacted] at [redacted], left tons of messages and neither has returned our call. We would like to get our money back as they promised.Desired Settlement: Our money returned immediately.

Review: The told me that they could get me a reduces interest rate garunteed. And if it didnt go through they would refund. I paid them 2500 dollars. They cut off all lines of communication. I contacted Newport Beach Police and they said they were a scam group. Im out of 2500 bucks.Desired Settlement: I want my money back. 2500

Review: THE COMPANY TOLD ME THAT I WAS IN A [redacted] TO OFFICIALLY BEGIN NOVEMBER 1RST, 2014. THIS WAS A LIE. MY MORTGAGE COMPANY ([redacted]) HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY MODIFICATION NOR ANY PAPERWORK ON MY BEHALF AT ALL FROM THIS COMPANY. THIS COMPANY TOOK $[redacted] FROM ME FOR SUPPOSED LEGAL FEES BUT LIKE I SAID THEY NEVER HAD ANY COMMUNICATION/CORRESPONDENCE WITH MY MORTGAGE COMPANY AT ALL. (ALTHOUGH THEY ARE OPERATING UNDER MY MORTGAGE COMPANY'S NAME GREEN TREE.Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE A REFUND OF $[redacted]

Review: Green Tree Financial Services is a company that claimed to assist homeowners with their mortgage modification procedures. The way they operate is they request all the financial and mortgage information of the homeowners, send you the approval of a pre-qualification and then they request a fee for the services they will perform to negotiate a refinance with the loan holder / mortgage company. My wife and I paid the fee for the modification of our 2 properties in Connecticut, we felt comfortable as the contract we were signing with Green Tree specified that if our modification was denied we would get a full refund of the fees paid. The process up until the collection of the fee was great, with short responsive time from our modification specialist Jim Bradley. After they got the checks (a total of $4980) and cashed them is when our troubles started. Green Tree made an initial contact with our mortgage company to inform them of our modification request, and even though Green Tree had received all the documentation that was needed for the modification, our mortgage company claimed that they had not forwarded such documentation to them. Since Green Tree Financial advised us not to talk directly with the mortgage company, with every call from the mortgage company we tried to refer back to our Green Tree rep, but making several calls at different times of the day did not help because we could never reach an individual, but rather an answering machine, several messages later and several days later a Green Tree rep would call us back to try to resolve the issue. And in this manner our case was outstanding from December of 2013 to May of 2014, when my wife decided to deal directly with the mortgage company schedule weekly calls, and provide to them directly the paperwork they were requesting.

Now both loan modifications have been denied, and we have contacted Green tree several times to get our money back but we are not getting the proper response to get the refund.Desired Settlement: We are requesting an immediate refund of our money as it was agreed in the initial contract we signed with Green Tree. We understand that there is an application process for the refund, but we have made several attempts to communicate with Green Tree Financial to get guidance on the process and no one is responding to our emails or to our calls. The refund needs to happen immediately.

Review: This company promised to work with my mortgage company for a remodification they sent me a contract for what I was approved for and what they were going to do for the 2995.00 they were charging me I agreed to what they sent me in writing. I paid them in full. They did not deliver what was promised. This started in February it is now end of May which is the time they promised my modification would be complete its not. They will not answer the phone sometimes you can leave a message most times not says mailbox is full no one has called me back. They told me not to pay mortgage until new modification started now I'm 4 months behind. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!! They said if the remod did not work I could get a full refund but I can't get someone to answer phone or call back I also tried emailing 2 contact people there that I had their email addresses but no answwer from them either. I spoke to another company who said this company has ripped me off and should have never promised anything that I was not eligible for that type of remodification. Please help me get my money back. I would trully love them to pay the 4 months they told me not to pay.Desired Settlement: my inital 2995.00 plus 2 months of mortgage payments that were missed.Or exactly what they promised from the get go.

Review: I received a flyer in the mail regarding refinancing my manufactured home. I contacted [redacted] took some informatoin and he told me I was qualified for the modification program. He then sent me to [redacted] asked for documentation that he needed and said I needed to send him $[redacted] to get the process started. I also sent a predated check for $[redacted] to complete the application process. [redacted] told me that once he received the money my interest rate would be locked in and the loan was guaranteed. The checks were cashed and the phone calls from [redacted] stopped coming. I was told to stop making my mortgage payment and so I did. I knew something was wrong and so I got my payment current. [redacted] had been calling me every week until he cashed the checks, after that the phone calls stopped. I am not out the money and my credit is ruined as I show 3 mortgage delinquencies.Desired Settlement: I want my $[redacted] back

Review: On April 15, 2014 I signed a contract with Green Tree Financial Group to assist myself and my partner with a loan modification thru the [redacted] program. The [redacted] program assists people who owe more than their home is presently worth. Our main contacts was [redacted] who sent over the terms and what was involved including the cost for closing. We were told that all Green Tree had to do was submit the application and Grant Money that we were approved for to our lender [redacted] and our House payment would be reduced and our interest rate would be cut in half. This would all take place on July 1, 2014, here it is September 22, 2014 and we are still waiting for the end result. Green Tree did submit our application to our lender [redacted] for a loan modification but [redacted] states they did not receive any information on a refiance with Grant money to reduce our loan or interst rate. We have left voice messages on [redacted]'s line as well as [redacted] and a gall names [redacted], noone has bothered to call us back in the past 6 weeks, we have also sent them emails asking them to call us and at the very least give us an update on what is going on or what our next step should be. We have paid closing costs in the amount of $3,665 and are very very frustrated and if nothing else we would like our closing costs refunded to us.Desired Settlement: All we want is for the [redacted] agreement to be completed. Push thru the loan modification so we can get the original agreement fulfilled. We understand they maybe extremely busy we get that from their voicemail and emails being full but we started this process in April and were told it would be a done deal by July and we are no closer to a resolution and it is now the end of September.

If they are unable to fulfill their end of the deal, we would like our closing costs reiumbursed to us.
