We have included a copy of a flier this person has been handing out around our Jiffy LubeHe states in this flier it is a Ford Pickup, yet it was actually a ChevroletHe also included only part of our denial letter in that flier as wellThere are an additional facts that contributed
to our decisionHere are all the reasons this was denied:There is no evidence to support the claim that the oil filter came off and lost its oil causing engine damageThe alleged spot where the vehicle broke down did not show any signs of oil leaking and no filter was recovered. The vehicles odometer is not operational so it can not be determined how many miles the vehicle was drivenThe odometer is stuck at 201,milesThis amount of miles is also considered very high mileage and engine failure of a vehicle with this many miles is not out of the ordinary. The vehicle had been sold when the failure allegedly occurredThe limited warranty on the back of the Jiffy Lube invoice states that this warranty is non-transferableThe inspection of the engine found sludge and engine build upThis is a sign of lack of maintenance and major engine wearThe Chevrolet Truck has not been well maintained and the engine failure is the result of age, high mileage and lack of maintenanceThe customer is misrepresenting the facts in this situation and has change their account several times as to what they say occurred

Please send all invoices pertaining to the charges you wish to be reimbursed for to [email protected]. Once we have received all the documents we will send a reimbursement check. Thank you for your time

I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,
*** *** First and foremost if the damage to the vehicle was caused by another vehicles door there would have been other paint on the damaged area on the vehicle,Which would have been visible in the pictures taken of the damage shortly after it occurred, the pictures reveal not only a chunk of paint missing down to bare metal but also impacting the vehicle hard enough to leave quarter size Dent in the body aswell, furthermore the pictures showing no signs of another vehicles paint being left behind would only come to a legitimate conclusion that the object that struck the vehicle was an object without paint on it perhaps one of many tools used in jiffy lube shop and also used on the same elevation as the vehicle was located, tools such as impact sockets which are used to remove tires from vehicles, this is one of many examples I stressed to the business manager at the store Location which he responded in an insulting way to me saying "jiffy lube" isn't going to fix that damageI witnessed several employees using numerous "Metal" tools on other vehicles located directly beside mine, the claim that it was impossible for any of jiffy lubes staff to have any type of tool that could have caused the damage to my vehicle is not only insufficient but also completely incorrect as multiple types of "metal" tools are used Frequently in the needs for mechanics to perform various types of work on the same elevation as my vehicle was located at during the time of damage done to my vehicle. In closing I would like to also state that moments after the damage was caused I immediately called Jiffy lube head quarters and left a message as it was a holiday weekend, I have the reff# also stating the time the call was made, also the vehicle was not parked at any other locations for any amount of time unattendedI left jiffy lube and as soon as I parked and exited the vehicle I noticed immediately that there was damage done that was not there priorI was also disappointed at the staff for leaving Greasy finger marks on my dash board and glove box including my windows that they"Cleaned" perhaps they used a greasy towel it appeared, but that's besides the damage caused to the exterior by their staff

I am rejecting this
response because:The location where repairs were made is hours drive from where I currently live and no offer has been extended from Griffco for transporting the vehicle to the locationFurther, I do not trust that location to complete the repairs since they had adequate time to complete them to begin with and utterly failed to do soI believe that the mechanics at the car manufacturer's dealership are more than qualified to accurately diagnose and repair the problems with the car, especially since the current problems match what the technicians at Jiffy Lube #were paid to fixIt is your responsibility to resolve the mistakes made by Jiffy Lube #2942, and your organization is more than capable of working toward an acceptable solution instead of demanding I return to the original location

I am rejecting this response because:  The insurance company knows the and has admitted that I have it recorded.  I should not have to be responsible for an inferior filter.  I  bought the oil change and filter from Jiffy Lube.  I feel they should deal with the defective filter.  When you use a product from Jiffy Lube they should stand behind it.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

This is in response to the claim [redacted] has submitted to the Revdex.com.   The damage to the oil pan was covered by the company. Mr. [redacted] did not pay anything out of pocket for the replacement of the oil pan. He did not receive an invoice due to the bill was paid by the company.   The...

damage to the oil filter casing was covered as part of the extended warranty. Mr. [redacted] did not pay anything out of pocket for the replacement of the oil filter casing.   We have tried to work with Mr. [redacted] on resolving the issue. During this time Mr. [redacted] has requested that we install a 2” lift on his vehicle to “Make him Happy” which is outside the scope of work we perform. He has also asked our customer service representative to “think outside the box. Make me Happy” which turned the conversation down an odd path that left our representative feeling uncomfortable.   The company understands the frustration of the situation and would like to still offer $200.

I am rejecting this response...

because: Hanover Insurance (Jiffy Lube) is playing games.  Dragging their feet and trying to say they put the filter in right and so they are not at fault( Jiffy Lube).  The filter was not right for my car and they are trying push this to filter manufacturer.  They should stand behind what they do.  They can ceal with the filter maker I shouldn't have to.  I am filing a lawsuit.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

To whom it may concern: We apologize for the delays in getting your vehicle in and looked at. Our service center has been really busy and we were not able to get you vehicle in to diagnose the issue on the vehicle. We have instructed our head mechanic to make your vehicle a priority...

and to give it his undivided attention to diagnose the misfire. This issue is not one that can be found in an hour. It will require much testing. We will not charge you for the diagnosis and if the issue is with a repair we performed, we will repair the issue free of charge for you. Please bring the vehicle back to us and we will get to work on your vehicle.  Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because: The response given by the manager at the store was FAR from professional. Hanging up and disconnecting the phone is not professional amd simply telling a customer "get this thing towed anf get it out of here" is not an acceptable response to a discouraged customer. As a business owner personally who has a A+ rating with my business with the Revdex.com, I understand what it takes to handle a customer. I was given no resolution, no alternatives, simply and ultimatum. I am not satisfied with this response.
Sincerely,

I am rejecting this response because: The timeframe doesn't work for me. After submitting this complaint I contacted them to have brought in as soon as possible. I brought it in today this morning and what I wanted to add in additional this is one of the mechanics I spoke with wasn't very helpful and when I was getting ready to leave with the ride that I had, he got into my car in a parking lot and basically drove way too fast made a sharp turn into the garage and my tires were squealing out as he was pulling into the garage.  So I am rejecting the offer because of the timeframe, the only reason at all that I am bringing it back is because it is covered under warranty on the service that they have given even though it wasn't satisfactory and I wanted to add that note.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

We have been in contact with the customer to make sure we get everything handled. We will be doing a second inspection on the repair done to make sure it's a perminate fix. If not we will discuss other options with the customer. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:I think that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. By that logic, if someone hits my car then I should have to use my insurance to pay for the damages, not theirs. I paid for that warranty, and that warranty is like insurance, not for Jiffy Lube to use.  I paid $2300.00 for that extra warranty to protect me from manufacture defects and thing I might do. Not for Jiffy Lube to use because they screwed up and damaged my car. So it did cost me money to fix it. Not to mention my time which is rated at 36.54 /hr. Also because I spent 2300 the car they loaned me would have cost me 651.02 which my extend warranty covered which was not free.   So by my calculations: Rent car: 651.02 My time  20/hr * 36.54 = 730.80 Repair = 700.00 A piece of Mind = Priceless (Now I constantly look for oil under my Jeep.) Total 651.02 + 730.80 + 700.00 = $2081.82 or the price of the warranty they used $2300.00 So Why Does a company get to damage a person property then turn around and say we don’t owe you anything because you purchased a warranty and the warranty covered it? My warranty is not for their uses. It is for me!
Sincerely,
[redacted]

An independent investigation was done in this situation. Jiffy Lube had no say as to the final decision of the insurance company. The investigation found that the oil filter was installed correctly, as per the Hyundai dealership. The filter was also found to be the correct one for the vehicle.

Regarding [redacted]'s claim. We contacted Bimmer Haus automotive and spoke with Pat P[redacted] the service writer. I asked Pat if anything they fixed on Mr. [redacted]'s vehicle was caused by the service we performed and he said absolutely not. Pat had also informed Mr. [redacted] of that fact. Out of...

trying to please the customer we offered to pay for his skid plate and hardware kit. Mr. [redacted] said that if we were not going to pay for everything then he didn't want anything. Nothing we did caused his motor mount to fail, valve cover gasket leak, oil pan gasket leak and other o-rings to leak.
