Grossinger Honda Reviews (22)

In April 2016, I purchased a ***from Grossinger HondaUpon bringing my vehicle home, maybe a month later, my car was having issues startingBeing that I purchased my vehicle at the dealership and that I purchased my extended warranty through the dealership, I took my vehicle back with my concernsI was greeted by a service agent who stated, " we do not service ***'s hereYou will need to take it to a [redacted] dealership." My initial response to this was, " That makes no senseI purchased my vehicle hereWhy would you sell a vehicle that you cannot service, and furthermore, why would you sell an extended warranty for a vehicle you cannot service." A service manager overheard our conversation and stated, " She purchased the vehicle and extended warranty hereBecause the extended warranty is through us, she will not have to pay the $deductibleProtocol is to do a complimentary diagnosis of the vehicleIf it is something that we can fix, we will do it hereIf we cannot fix it, we will send it to a [redacted] dealership in order for her not to have to pay the deductibleIn that case, we would need to keep the car for three days." In any event, they checked my vehicle and everything was fineA few weeks later, my horn stops workingI call the dealership and schedule a service appointmentThe same service agent comes to me and states that he cannot service my vehicle because it is a ***I regurgitate what the service manager stated to me aboveThe agent looks puzzled and gives me the address to the nearest [redacted] dealership, being completely dismissive and not servicing my vehicleI go to the [redacted] dealership and explain the situationThey did not understand why my vehicle was not serviced or at least looked at and diagnosed by the selling dealershipIn any event, I had to pay out of pocket for my vehicle to get fixed, for a service that would have been covered under warrantyI call the dealership the following week to explain to them my disgust with the process and to see whether I can get my money refundedI spoke to a service manager who was very apologetic and niceShe said she would talk to her manager about getting the issue resolvedHer manager called me and I missed his callI called him back, left a voicemail and never heard from him againI wait another week and call the dealershipI spoke to the manager and he told me to send him my invoice in order for him to call the warranty company and get the issue resolvedI sent him the requested email and heard nothing from him sinceI did not even get a response confirming receipt of my emailThis is completely unacceptable for a business to do when selling someone a vehicle

interested.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2015/05/03) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I was contacted by Mr Brian [redacted] with a promise of honoring the ad price. I made an appointment.
At the dealership the team took care of me very courteously.
The payment due, I was asked to write a check for that day, was adjusted to match advertisement.
I'm waiting for Honda Lease statement to confirm all details.

Classic sleazy used car sales. Rush and pressure you through the whole process and keep you focused on your MONTHLY PAYMENT instead of the ACTUAL PRICE of the vehicle and the INTEREST RATE of the loan. I highly doubt a place like this has any legitimate positive reviews.
They didn't tell me how much I was paying for the car until I got to the financing office, and it was $2,000 ABOVE THE PRICE ONLINE!!!! ($25,995)
[redacted]
Interest rate was 5.35%. I had looked up what kind of interest rate we qualified for earlier that day and it was 3.15%!!!!!!
These are truly terrible people.

I have researched this complaint and have discussed it thoroughly with my service manager.  As a dealer, We are subject to abide by the vehicle manufacturer's repair guidelines.  I have come to find out that Honda has turned this customer down in terms of further assistance from them...

at this point.  We are glad to try and assist  in this matter but must abide by Honda's guidelines.   sincerely,[redacted]

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I have NOT turned down any assistance.  After speaking to [redacted] on 2/8/17 at 8:23 am, his last comment was, we'll be in touch soon.  Which assistance are you speaking of [redacted]?  I'm interested to know what proposal I exactly denied?  I was waiting for YOUR dealership to call me to perform an engine test promised on behalf of [redacted] from Honda Corporate from 11/21/16.  After leaving numerous voicemails with [redacted], I have heard nothing.  Hence this Revdex.com complaint.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

When poor customer service meets missed opportunities
This is how you go from thinking you are a loyal customer to discovering you are in fact worthless in less than 36 hours. I own a 2012 Honda Accord Coupe, purchased new and I have trusted Grossinger Honda has serviced the car for the past 4 years I have trusted Grossinger with its care. Thinking that I a valuable customer I started the process of looking for a new car back in May, only considering another Honda and Grossinger as the dealership to give my business too. My salesman, Abe E seemed genuinely interested in working with me on my first trip, took time to listen and respected my wish to get the best deal when I was ready. After my first visit I received several follow up calls assuring me that the dealership was happy to work with me when I decided to buy.
On Monday, September 5, 2016 I was ready to find a new car and went to Grossinger to look at the inventory, set on either a 4 door Accord 4 cylinder or a CVR either with at least leather and sunroof. I walked through the lot and found 6 new 2015 Accords fully loaded, they were 2015 with a list price on the car was $33,105.00. Considering the cars were two model years old I made my way home thinking about making an offer. On Tuesday, September 6, 2016 I sent a request via the dealers website to talk with Abe part of this request was to asked for a range of the APR’s available for the car when I spoke with him. Abe called and when we connected he informed me the 2015 Accord EX-L 6 cylinder with Navigation was priced at $28,000.00, I made a counter offer of $23,000.00. Abe asked me why I felt the car was worth this amount, my response was the car is 2 model years old, there are 6 of them on the lot, I would be paying an unknown APR and I felt this was a good price to start the negotiation at. Abe told me he was in the middle of a test drive and would call back shortly. Much to my surprise I got no call back, radio silent, and wow radio silence from a car salesman, who would have thought it possible.
I called Abe back on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 and asked if he had forgotten to call me with any updates on buying the 2015 Honda, Abe told me in fact he wasn’t going to return my call, my offer was ridiculous and not worth a counter offer or a return call and my reasoning for the low offer was ridiculous. Damn what kind of salesman say that to a customer, this was not warranted, it was rude, I was just looking to buy a car and as a loyal Grossinger customer I was in shock. I said good-bye and disconnected. I decided to go back online and submit an email about what had happened, express my concern about how this was handled.
Again DAMN, in less than an hour I got my response from Brian Wienberg, let me repeat his name for you General Manager of Grossinger Honda, Brian [redacted], yes the one and only. Brian confirmed for me that my offer for $23000 would not be consider that there was no need to continue and good luck in my car shopping experience. No apologies, no counter offer and indeed no thank you for giving Grossinger my business for the past four years, just no thanks. There were additional emails traded but at this point you get the idea that there is seriously something wrong with this dealership, the sales person and the general manager. I simply made an offer on a car, I did not ask for the nasty experience that followed.
When did negotiating the price of a car become so rude and childish? If you are considering a new car do yourself a favor and drive past the Grossinger Dealerships, customer service is not available here.

We have read Mr.[redacted] complaint and I was involved with the customer inquiry. Unfortunately, the ad was run incorrectly due...

to the significant change that took place in the Illinois tax law on leases. We do have a retraction letter from our ad agency. We tried to be as upfront as possible with this customer and explained the error.
