Grossinger Honda

In April 2016, I purchased a 2011 [redacted]3 from Grossinger Honda. Upon bringing my vehicle home, maybe a month later, my car was having issues starting. Being that I purchased my vehicle at the dealership and that I purchased my extended warranty through the dealership, I took my vehicle back with my concerns. I was greeted by a service agent who stated, " we do not service [redacted]'s here. You will need to take it to a [redacted] dealership." My initial response to this was, " That makes no sense. I purchased my vehicle here. Why would you sell a vehicle that you cannot service, and furthermore, why would you sell an extended warranty for a vehicle you cannot service." A service manager overheard our conversation and stated, " She purchased the vehicle and extended warranty here. Because the extended warranty is through us, she will not have to pay the $100.00 deductible. Protocol is to do a complimentary diagnosis of the vehicle. If it is something that we can fix, we will do it here. If we cannot fix it, we will send it to a [redacted] dealership in order for her not to have to pay the deductible. In that case, we would need to keep the car for three days."
In any event, they checked my vehicle and everything was fine. A few weeks later, my horn stops working. I call the dealership and schedule a service appointment. The same service agent comes to me and states that he cannot service my vehicle because it is a [redacted]. I regurgitate what the service manager stated to me above. The agent looks puzzled and gives me the address to the nearest [redacted] dealership, being completely dismissive and not servicing my vehicle.
I go to the [redacted] dealership and explain the situation. They did not understand why my vehicle was not serviced or at least looked at and diagnosed by the selling dealership. In any event, I had to pay out of pocket for my vehicle to get fixed, for a service that would have been covered under warranty.
I call the dealership the following week to explain to them my disgust with the process and to see whether I can get my money refunded. I spoke to a service manager who was very apologetic and nice. She said she would talk to her manager about getting the issue resolved. Her manager called me and I missed his call. I called him back, left a voicemail and never heard from him again. I wait another week and call the dealership. I spoke to the manager and he told me to send him my invoice in order for him to call the warranty company and get the issue resolved. I sent him the requested email and heard nothing from him since. I did not even get a response confirming receipt of my email.
This is completely unacceptable for a business to do when selling someone a vehicle.

it seems that the customer is misunderstanding my reply to here complaint.  I did not say she turned down assistance but rather stated that Honda (the vehicle's manufacturer) has turned down warranty assistance at this time due to the fact that the oil consumption test was within their guidelines.  Honda has instructed us to tell the customer to check her oil  level regularly per the owner's manual recommendation.  As a Honda dealer, we can only do what the manufacturer is telling us to do when it relates to a product issue.  I hope this helps in terms of explanation.   Sincerely[redacted]
