Customer specified in the contract that they wanted a door that looks just like their neighbors doors. The customer actually said that they want their door "matching...

neighbors door". The contract did not specify for the door to be painted but we did paint. The door did not specify to have a peephole but we did put a peephole in for the customer. Both of these items were handled pro gratis. The customer signed off on paperwork saying that they were satisfied with the job and there were no items to be addressed. Also, the sliding glass door was upgraded to an energy efficient door with low e and argon gas at no charge (this wasn't on her contract). This job was completed more than 5 months ago and we haven't heard from [redacted] since. Both the contract and the completion certificate (both signed by [redacted]) are available upon request. To show [redacted] that we harbor no ill feelings, we will grant her 30% off her next purchase with ground up home solutions. I think the real problem is that the doors were a bit more than [redacted] could afford. Apologies for the delayed response but the office shuts down throughout the holiday season. Thanks

PREDATORY PRACTICES...STAY FAR AWAY!!! Greg Stotts from GroundUp Home Solutions came to my home on 9/09/16 to provide an estimate for a bathroom renovation. During the estimate he provided a sloppily written carbon copied document. Mr. Stotts explained that he would provide a more legible/type-written/professional contract & an itemized list of supplies to include allowances on the next business day. However this was never provided. My wife & I were accompanied by Mr. Stotts' assistant, Ms. White to select tile, vanity, countertops, lighting, & facet fixtures. Ms. White was the only one privy to the allowance amounts, and she took us to GroundUp's "preferred vendors." After selecting the items, we received a follow up call from Mr. Stotts to inquire about our experience thus far. That was the last time we heard from Mr. Stotts until he emailed me nearly a month later about re-measuring the bathroom. Prior to that time, we send several emails with minimal & often times no response to posed questions. My wife finally spoke with Mr. Stotts on 10/18 after I abruptly received notification that work was beginning that day. The job was to begin on the 10/10. Their subcontractor constantly asked for supplies & was under the assumption that we were providing them. Email traffic continued & again the delayed to no responses continued. The only time we heard from the company was for payment. On 10/27 I sent an email to inquire about the vanity & shower doors again no response.  However the project manager Lamar showed up at my home to collect more money for incomplete work. I informed him that no additional money would be paid until work was completed. We terminated services after we were harassed for money, in addition to the company missing the project completion date because they failed to utilized the provided monies for required materials that would take several weeks to be manufactured. IN A NUTSHELL DON'T DO SERVICE WITH GROUND UP!!

Dear Sir or Madam:

My complaint is against a company called Ground Up Home Solutions, LLC in regard to their refusal to refund my deposit in the amount of $2000. I am enclosing a copy of the contract which was dated September 26, 2013 and work was to be completed on October 26, 2013. My complaint is they did not start the work as scheduled and to date has not started yet. I have spoken to both [redacted] and [redacted], who are the owner and representative of the company, in regards to my refund. However, I was told the money had already been used for permits and the drawing of the work to be done.

I am forwarding for your review a copy of the contract as well as a copy of the check that was cashed. Also attached is my address and telephone number if you have any further questions. I may be reached at [redacted] and phone number is ###-###-####.

Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Sincerely,Desired Settlement: see Attached document

Re. Response to Complaint

To Whom It May Concern.

On September the 26, 2013 –‘Ground Up Home Solutions, LLC’. Entered a contract agreement with **./[redacted] and [redacted], to perform residential home improvement services on their behalf, at their home located at [redacted]. We discussed the scope of work in detail at our initial meeting, explained that permitting is required, our architect will meet with him for a consultation, perform a site survey, and develop drawings catered to

**. [redacted]’s specific requirements and final approval; immediately thereafter, the home improvement remodeling services work will be performed. Our architect started and finished the drawings well before the start of work on 10/20/2013 so we could be completed by 10-26-2013. We contacted **. [redacted] immediately and informed him that we are ready to start the remodeling services on 10/20/2013 as agreed; however, **. [redacted] replied by saying-“he talked

with another contractor – that did work for him in the past that would give him a cheaper price, he wants to cancel our agreement, and wants his money back”. We expressed to **. [redacted]- he has never complained about the amount of money we required and we have a contract that he: agreed, signed, and has given a deposit for us to get the work done on his behalf. We asked **. [redacted] cordially and respectfully to allow us to do the work we are contract to complete; he

refused, broke his legal commitment, and insisted on cancelling.

Ground Up Home Solutions, LLC’. Has a binding contract agreement with **. [redacted]. Thanks

Review: We ordered five energy saver windows. According to the contract, the installation was to go from September the 29th of 2012 through October the 13th, 2013 (a little more than a year). These windows were promised to come with a “lifetime/transferable/labor for life” warranty. We were happy to learn that the window installation could and was completed early (October, 2012) but as autumn settled in we noticed that our “energy saver windows” were in fact not saving us anything. A constant draft was entering through the newly installed windows which evidently began to cause discomfort and ironically, an increase in our energy bill. We attempted to have this problem resolved in October of 2012 but instead was bombarded with unsolicited internal administrative drama that the company was involved in (NOTE: This chaos also involved a man named Marc who no longer works with Ground Up). Because of their inability to work together, we the customers were not seen, called, or acknowledged from that point on.

Moving forward to July of 2013, almost a year later, we felt the heat draft coming into our rooms via our windows, which resulted in a high energy bill once again. We called in July 2013 to ask that they fix our windows but calls were ignored and not returned. It wasn’t until I sent emails that we received a phone call by **. [redacted]. He told us that his project manager [redacted] was working with our case and would handle our situation. Our calls and messages to **. [redacted] went ignored until the end of July 2013. He advised us that his specialist would come to our home to inspect our windows for any problems. After the inspection, the contractor told us that he would let **. [redacted] know what the concern was and would await word for further action. The day of our inspection, I called **. [redacted] to let him know the status. He assured us that his contractor would come out to fix our issue. We asked that he expedite this process since we had waited since October but the earliest date that he would give us was two weeks into August 2013. Very upset at how inflexible they were to resolve our problems, we patiently waited for our appointment. We received zero follow up or confirmation contacts as the date approached so we called **. [redacted] since he made the appointment with us for August 16, 2013 at 8:10am. I called Ground Up and the contractor’s number but no one responded.

On the day of our appointment, I called **. [redacted] and he advised me that they would not be honoring our agreed upon appointment date. Frustrated, I let him know that him not keeping our appointment was inconveniencing myself, my work and my family and he told us the best that he could do was come out the following Thursday (August 22, 2013). Hearing how concerned and disappointed I still was, he advised us that he would call us back at 5:00pm to let us know if he could possibly do the job earlier. We were not called. What makes our concerns even greater is that they were paid in full in October 2012 but we have been waiting almost a year for them to fix the windows that they installed. It’s clear that they have been and are continuing to place other clients ahead of us, rather than simply rectifying the problem. Since this process began, we have taken off from work, paid higher in energy costs, and have been absolutely frustrated working with these two men. We never could have imagined a company with an A- rating with the Revdex.com would provide such a horrid service and product.Desired Settlement: At this point in this 10-month struggle, our principal desire is that they complete our repair in a timely fashion. Treat us as valuable as any of your other customers. During our last conversation, **. [redacted] mentioned some form of compensation for our troubles but based on what I’ve seen thus far, I highly doubt this will come to pass.

This Business installed all the perimeter walls in the Bsement and they are not straight. This Business should had made sure of the walls being absolutely straight before installing floor product. Carpet Install not proper. Contractor workers not properly suprvised. Very Poor Service and on the Job Service. Managers/ Owners not keeping lines of communication Open. Non-responsive to Customers/ Our satisfaction. Business Installed/Completed Work before submitting estimate of cost to Owner and then expects Owners to Pay. Cost of said item outragiously inflated( Installing wireing for 1 smoke detector and 1 Carbon monoxide detector $1100.00) No estimate was given before this item was installed.Desired Settlement: I(We) require either restore all the walls or Monetary relief. The one thing I can say about this company is the attention to detail. They were hired to come in and replace a roof and tiling in my mothers home. The owner took the time to sit down with us and go over all the options that would make our home shine. On staff they have a personal design consultant who met with us and helped pick out the beautiful tile in our home. I would recommend this company to any of my family and friends who are looking for home improvement services.
