GWC Warranty Corporation Reviews (111)

Review: I am trying to cancel the warranty policy on a vehicle that I no longer have. I called previously and was informed that I could cancel the policy at the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. I did contact the dealer and was told that they were waiting for the document to come from GWC. I called to check when the document would be sent over and was informed that no document would be sent over because the policy could not be cancelled.Desired Settlement: I want the policy cancelled and any unused portion of the fee charged to be refunded.

I am rejecting this response because:The terms and conditions were not given to me when I signed the contract. I was made to believe that the terms and conditions were those that was stated on the page describing what would be included in the plan. Only the one page that I signed was presented to me when I signed the contract.

Review: This is the second time I had to have my car repaired since the purchased date at the end of February 2014. The first repair went through GWC Warranty for a cylinder head repair. The company covered the item with the agreed upon terms, however, they took days to even go inspect the repair, then had to go back out to the garage where it was being fixed to inspect it again once before they authorized the repair. I was out a vehicle for almost two weeks because they would not approve the repair in a timely fashion. The second repair was done this past Monday, June 9, 2014. The mechanic told me that they repair (front timing cover) would be covered because it is indeed part of the engine. Upon him calling the GWC, the claims representative told the mechanic that it was not covered and simply hung up the phone. I myself called back later in the day and got told the same thing and that there was not anything I could do. The Warranty pamphlet that I received upon purchase of the car/warranty clearly states that engine work is covered. These specifically state cylinder heads, timing chains, and timing belts, but then the timing cover itself is not covered? The mechanic was insistent that it was absurd that the part was not covered. Engine work is extensive and expensive and he had to actually get into my engine (clearly indicating that it is in fact part of the engine and should be covered).Desired Settlement: Company should cover said repair to the extent of the policy. I do have a $100 deductible which I fully except responsibility for, along with the oil change needed and is not covered under warranty

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern. I have reviewed the customer’s statement of the problem and the claim

The timing cover gasket reported as failed is not listed for

coverage in the Component coverage list. The contract addresses coverage

Covered

Component(s) means all item(s) specifically listed on the front of this Contract Application under Component Coverage. If a component is specifically listed under

is covered.

Review: Friday, Feb 7, 2014 my son's 2004 [redacted] broke down on the way home from work. He called [redacted] and had it towed to the nearest mechanic which was a [redacted] dealer. They inspected the car and said the rear end of the vehicle went bad and something about the spider gears. We then had the vehicle towed back to our house. Monday, Feb 10, I contacted GWC and they requested for us to have it taken to a mechanic to have them diagnose the vehicle and for them to call them with the results. The mechanic contacted GWC and explained that the pinion seal broke and fluids leaked within the truck internally. GWC denied the claim. The next day the mechanic contacted GWC again telling them there was no way we know that since it didn't leak externally. GWC decided to send an inspector to check the vehicle. Thursday, Feb 13, the inspector went to the shop and insisted on driving the vehicle after the mechanic was against it. He didn't get 10 ft. with the vehicle before having to stop. Friday, Feb 14th, he contacted the mechanic and was denying the claim because the fluids leaked out causing the issues. Again the mechanic explained we wouldn't know that since they didn't leak externally. We have been without the vehicle for over a week and nothings been down because of delays on GWC's part and now they won't pay for it. The truck was inspected a few months ago and the oil was just changed a few weeks ago and never was it mentioned to us that there was an issue with fluids and leakage. We never got any indication from the lights on the dashboard and the truck was running fine. It is now Monday, Feb 17th and we have gotten no where. I have spoken to the claims rep and the claims mgr and they will not cover any part of the cost. We paid $1000 for the warranty and the cost to get it fixed is $1600. They won't even be reasonable with us and cover part of it. They continue to blame us for something we had no clue about. Extended warranties are a scam in my opinion. Something needs to be done.Desired Settlement: Even though I feel they should accept the claim and pay for the damage, I would be happy even if they would agree to pay for half of the costs then I would drop this. This is the first used vehicle we have ever owned and was told when by the dealer that sold this to us that we would never have a problem with GWC. That was a huge lie!

Response:

Reference: Complaint # [redacted] – [redacted]

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this concern.

I have reviewed the customer’s statement of the problem and the claim details associated with this concern. GWC warranty did have an independent inspection completed that had verified a long term fluid leak from the rear differential and consequential damage to the internals. The vehicle service contract addresses this type of failure specifically as follows;

9. EXCLUSIONS — WHAT IS NOT COVERED: This Contract provides no benefits and NADN has no obligation under the Terms & Conditions set forth for what is not covered herein listed below.

Review: My wife and I purchased a 2005 Ford Explorer from a local car dealership. When we purchased the vehicle on 4-27-2011 it had 88,368. We chose to buy a warranty for our vehicle for a little piece of mind to protect us from future expenses. We purchased the best warranty offered by GWC Warranty. We paid $950.00 for this warranty. This was a 36 month or 36,500 mile warranty. The warrant has a $100.00 deductible. It is now 10-7-2013 and our vehicle has 111,043 miles on it. This makes it still well within our warranty period. My wife was driving to work and the vehicle died at her. We had it towed to a repair facility near us. The warranty states we can take our vehicle to any repair shop we choose. Our vehicle was diagnosed and we were informed that our alternator was bad. The cost of the diagnostics, part and labor would come to $428.13. The warranty company was contacted to establish a warranty claim. The warranty company only agreed to pay around $150.00 total on the claim. This left me paying the $100.00 deductible plus almost $200.00 difference totaling almost $300.00 out of pocket. This is the first and only claim against this warranty since it was purchased 4-27-2011. we paid a lot ($950) . They said the repair shop was over charging on labor, the part and they would not pay for diagnostics. We can not tow our vehicle from repair shop to repair shop to find the best price that will fit their allowances they have set for this repair. I am now being forced to make this repair myself because I can not afford to pay a repair shop for this repair. The warranty company has breached the warranty contract. They have tried to use every excuse to avoid paying on my claim.Desired Settlement: I would like a full refund of my $950.00 because the warranty company has not lived up to the terms of the contract. I did not receive the service I paid for and this warranty isn't worth the paper it is written on.

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern.

I have reviewed the claim and complaint details thoroughly. The

repair claim for the failed alternator was authorized in accordance with the

terms of the vehicle service contract. The contract addresses parts and labor

coverage specifically as follows;

4. PARTS: Replacement of Covered

Components may be made with parts of like, kind, or quality and may be new,

remanufactured, rebuilt, exchanged, or serviceable used components as are

customarily used in the automobile industry and approved by the Administrator.

Bought a warranty cancelled it never used it and company wont send me my prorated portion. The dealer wont respond either. S[redacted] m[redacted]. Ps very dissatisfied and will vever buy or recommend gwc . This company should make good on refund and get back from car dealership who is selling these bogus policies

I was really happy with this service. It's hard to find a reputable after market warranty company. We have two cars backed by GWC. They even included towing and roadside assistance in our package. The $25 gas card was pretty sweet too!

Review: After this un[redacted]unate and bad experience with GWC Warranty managers and representatives I have to warn and caution all of you before thinking to do a business with this GWC Warranty. I have received a terrible and awful treatment and I have to complain about GWC Warranty as a company, and all of their employees that make it very difficult and problematic for me to fix my car transmission “Mercedes E350 2007”. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with the treatment I have received and the way that GWC managers and employees handled or treaded me. GWC representatives are making a problem out of everything beginning from getting the right market price and condition for all parts and labor.

This is what happen and happening right now:

On 07/23/2011 I purchased my used car “Mercedes Benz E350 2007” from Car Dealer “[redacted]” at [redacted] VA [redacted]. The General Manager from [redacted] “[redacted]” sold to me on the day I punched this car a warranty from “GWC Warranty” [ 407 McAlpine street – P.O. BOX 5068 . Avoca, PA 18641-0068] and I got ULTRA-Coverage for 36 Months or 38,500 Miles.

Since then I do not have any issue with my car but un[redacted]unately, on July 25 2013, my car stopped moving and I have lost my transmission “Broken Transmission” while my car have 57,430 Miles ONLY and I towed my car to first mechanic in [redacted], VA to fix my car and that mechanic asked me for total cost $ 6,100 to fix my transmission BUT “GWC Warranty” Manager “**” and representative “ [redacted]” & “[redacted]” refused first estimate because they think It is overpriced and they told me that they will pay $2,100 only and I have to pay the rest of the cost which is $4,000.

I asked “GWC Warranty” representative to refer me to one of GWC preferred repair facility where they honor their work (Labor & Parts). They referred me to [redacted] [[redacted], MD [redacted]] ###-###-####, I towed my car again on my expanses to [redacted] on 08/02/2013 to give me an estimate and itemized repair order that include ALL parts and labor that my car will need. I called GWC Warranty representatives ###-###-#### “[redacted]” and give me an authorization claim number [[redacted]] to fix my car after GWC sent an inspector to check and verified that my car need a transmission. Since 08/02/2013, I have been calling everyday both [redacted] manager “[redacted]” and GWC Warranty representatives ([redacted], [redacted] X[redacted], ** X[redacted]) to find out the following:

(1)When and how they are going to fix my car?

(2)I have been asking both to give me written estimate with itemized repair order for every part and labor need it for my car to make sure that I know what is my share of all this cost?

(3)GWC Warranty did NOT give me the VIN number for that used transmission they put in my car “Mercedes Benz E350 – 2007” and they did NOT told me how many miles that used transmission have on it before they install it in my car?

(4)GWC Warranty did NOT till me if they are using Mercedes certified parts to replace needed parts for my transmission?

(5)I have been renting a car for more than 1 month now and GWC will pay me only 5 day?

As of today 08/27/2013, No one give me written estimate to fix my car transmission? Every time I call someone from GWC Warranty I get different verbal (estimate, parts, labor, and different completion date to get my car). The lowest estimate I got to pay [$100 deductibles + $99 + Sales Tax] and the highest estimate I got from them was I have to pay [$100 deductibles + $1540 + Sales Tax].Desired Settlement: I am willing to pay my deductible $100 + $ 99 + Sales tax

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern. I have reviewed the customer’s statement of the problem and the

associated claim details.

GWC warranty had authorized a claim for transmission

replacement in the amount of $ 2756.10. The customer would need to contact the

repair shop for the estimate of costs that are not covered by the terms of the

vehicle service contract.

In regards to the parts information, the vehicle service

contract addresses part coverage specifically as follows;

4. PARTS: Replacement of Covered Components may be made with parts of like,

kind, or quality and may be new, remanufactured, rebuilt, exchanged, or

serviceable used components as are customarily used in the automobile industry

and approved by the Administrator.

GWC warranty informed the customer that the mileage on the

replacement transmission was approximately 54,000 miles on several occasions.

In regards to the rental reimbursement, the vehicle service

contract also addresses the terms of the coverage specifically as follows;

3. COVERAGE: • RENTAL CAR COVERAGE:

In the event that a Covered

Repair requires

repair facility labor in excess of eight (8) hours, We will provide rental car

reimbursement of no more than thirty-fi e dollars ($35.00) per day for a total

of no more than five (5) days. Delays caused by unavailability of parts,

shipping, and repair facility schedules, or other factors do not qualify for

rental car reimbursement. Not available on Powertrain.

GWC warranty has provided claim coverage in accordance with

the terms of the vehicle service contract.

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

1) Customer Response: Based on GWC

Warranty representative “[redacted] “I towed my car to one of GWC preferred repair

facility “[redacted]” where they honor their work (Labor & Parts). Again, I am

entitled and eligible to have a written estimate with itemized repair order for

every part and labor replaced in my car to understand what is been covered by

GWC vs. what is not.

2) Customer Response: I need proof

from GWC Warranty to show the actual miles on the replacement transmission.

That proof could be the VIN number for the original car where they get the

replacement transmission.

3) Customer Response: I accept GWC

response for Car rental coverage for only 5 days * $35 even though it takes

them almost 18 days to find a replacement transmission and authorize this

repair.

4) Customer Response: GWC Warranty

did NOT till me if they are using Mercedes certified parts to replace needed

parts for my transmission? I need the answer for this question to make sure

this parts will NOT under value my car.

5) Customer Question : GWC refuse to

cover most of Mercedes-Bens parts and labor for (Valve body & it is

Electronic Unit). Based on ALL Mercedes Benz Dealers, this parts comes coupled

together and you cannot purchase it separately, Also, Mercedes dealers will NOT

allow anyone to install this parts but Mercedes Benz because they have to

reprogram and configure this part (Valve body & it is Electronic Unit) in

their shop.

6) Customer Question: Mercedes Dealer

asked for 8 hours labor but GWC will cover 3.5 hours, Mercedes Dealer asked for

approximately $1350 for parts but GWC will pay $512 only because they do not

believe in Mercedes Authorized Dealer price. I am asking GWC to pay full price

for any covered part and labor especially there is NO other option to purchase

it or fix it outside Mercedes.

Review: I purchased a 2007 Dodge ram 1500 with 33k miles on it in March of 2012. I also purchased a GWC warranty with it for $1500 dollars. This warranty was their standard coverage which includes the powertrain coverage according to the contract. I treat my vehicles very good and have all routine

maintenance done. I have the receipts to prove it. On June 8th 2013 I was driving on a local road 4 block away from my house and as I was coming to stop at a sign I heard a loud bang and a terrible grinding noise then the engine just shut down. I was able to pull over and tried to restart the motor but it did nothing. With the help of my father I was able to tow the truck back to my house. We both saw oil coming out of the bottom. Then next morning we towed the Truck to my mechanic who has had the vehicle for about three weeks. He called GWC and they told him that he has to drop the oil pan and find out what happened. He discovered that engine broke two pistons rods on the driver side and the crank was destroyed. GWC then reinspected then gave him so line that they would not cover it because the motor was so call hydrolocked. First off, How do they know that? If so, how is it my fault. How could a running engine have hydrolock. It was running when it died. If it was hydrolock according to the definition, it would not start and the motor still failed mechanically. It broke two piston rods. Also It was the driest day of the year when this happen. Finally, there is nothing in the contract that I have about them not covering for hydrolock. I have been without a car for three week. I use this truck to go back and forth to work and cart my 1 year old to daycare.Desired Settlement: I want my vehicle back in working order and I want GWC to pay for it. I am paying out of my pocket now to put a new motor in this truck. It will cost me $6000 dollars. This is something I can not afford. I am still paying this vehicle monthly. This is a real hard ship for my family. I have a 1 year old and I use this vehicle to transport him back and forth to day care.

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern. I have reviewed the customer’s statement of the problem. I also

reviewed our claim details and independent inspection reports completed on this

vehicle.

GWC warranty had a series of independent mechanical

inspections completed on the vehicle to document and verify the findings. It

had been determined that the engine had ingested water internally and hydro

locked. That condition is not covered by the terms of the vehicle service

contract,, therefore GWC warranty would have no obligation towards the costs

associated with repair.

GWC Warranty Corporation

Review: My agreement contract states that the lower control arm repair is covered by my warranty. After telling me that the repair was covered, GWC turned around and told my mechanic it wasn't. After failing to get anyone at GWC to agree to cover the repair cost, I authorized the repair. My mechanic said it was too dangerous not to fix because I could lose steering at any time and crash my car. He called GWC again later to appeal to them on my behalf, and they then agreed to pay part of the claim.

When I disputed this with manager **, I was told that there is a cap on labor costs, and I was expected to have used an aftermarket part, the retail cost of which is the most the will reimburse for. He also said I should not have authorized any repair without contacting GWC first. I told him that after being told that the repair would not be covered, I did what I had to do to make my car safe to drive again. At that point, I had no reason to believe GWC was going to help me, and only later decided to pursue the claim I knew was legitimate.

I further explained that had I been given accurate information in the first place, GWC could have told me about their expectation of the parts to be used. I did not have the opportunity to research other parts because I was never told the amount of payment would depend on it. I feel as though this information was intentionally withheld, as it is not stated in any form on the agreement contract.

There are no stipulations in the contract agreement whatsoever about limited payment or specific parts that must be used to have the claim accepted. Yet, GWC will only pay $177 for nearly $400 in repair, based on conditions that are not in my contract. This leaves me on the hook for the $100 deductible and the remaining cost of the repairs.Desired Settlement: I am asking for the repair to be paid in full, as was my expectation from the agreement contract.

In lieu of that, I would accept a sincere apology and the deductible waived.

GWC Warranty Corporation

I purchased a car and warranty in May 2015 from a local dealer. It came with the GWC Warranty 90 day, 3000 mile. About 2 weeks after purchase I began having some issues that are stated in my warranty contract that were covered by GWC. Every claim I have tried to make, GWC Warranty Corporation finds some excuse not to fix it, or they will only cover so minimal amounts its pointless to even file the claim.
The warranty was for power trail, electrical components etc... I have sunk over $2500 into this vehicle which GWC should have taken care of... Not only do they refuse work from mechanics locally around me, you MUST take your vehicle to their "preferred mechanics" to even begin to file a claim.
Here are some examples: Power door lock on drivers door stopped working. In my contract in shows its 100% covered. Take it to be repaired, they deny the claim because they say "the door lock is fine, but we won't fix it because of a rivet broke" "Can't help the mechanism is broke off your door" "It's a hardware issue"
Bad ball joints... "Sorry we can't fix them because even though they show wear, they are not physically broken and the wheel falling off the car"
Electric gas door does not pop open .... "Sorry we won't cover that!" Can you still put fuel in your car?",,, if you can open it manually, then it still functions as it should...
The list goes on and on... So basically the GWC warranty is useless and a scam!! Trying to deal with the representatives on the phone is a joke... EXTREMELY RUDE!

Review: An extended warranty the dealer sold me 18 months ago, which allegedly covers certain components and at the time of the week of 1/04/15 when the mechanic tries to open a claim for work needed on the car, very conveniently, everything is denied. The car needs the serpentine belt replace, for a cost of $349 and a Valve cover gasket and an oil pan gasket for $1,400. Both key Fob to open and lock vehicle also do not work, they refuse to cover parts. On 1/08/15 I called "Missy" at GWC Warranty @ ###-###-####, she made a point of mentioning a "so called" contract which I never got. The end result to this useless conversation was USELESS.My argument is;The warranty, according to the brochure they gave me, covers water pump, alternator, air conditioner compressor and condenser, and power steering pump, however, do not list the serpentine belt as a cover part. But, these covered parts cannot function without the serpentine belt transporting power to these components. The serpentine as one belt is and should be individually considered to some percentage part of each and every one of the components they do cover. Also, the warranty brochure states, "ALL other seals and gaskets are covered only in conjunction with a covered part repair. How can it be possible other seals and gaskets are covered only if a covered part needs repair? I feel that for the $3,000 I paid for the warranty, and because I've put into the vehicle less than 6,000 miles in the 18 months I've owned it, they should cover this repair.Desired Settlement: I would like for them to cover all these repairs needed.

Review: When I bought my car used, I bought an extended warranty. I did not know the warranty would not be refunded if I traded the car in. I paid $2100 for a 3 year 36000 mile warranty. I had the car 7 months and 10000 miles. No sales person said that the car had to be totaled or reposed for a refund. I assumed if I traded it in there would be a prorated refund as well as the salesman I just bought my new car from thought the same thing. The back of the contract states cancellation and refunds. Bullet one states total loss, bullet two Right to return contract in the first 30 days. Bullet three cancel after the first thirty days. The company says bullet one is the only way they will refund the money. I am confused as to why there are other bullets then.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund that is prorated for the purchase price of the warranty.

I am rejecting this response because: I was never told this when I bought the warranty. The salesman never said anything about only being able to refund in the first thirty days. I would have never spent $2100 on something that there was no refund on. I have had four cars in the last four years and would have never agreed to anything like this without a prorated refund.I have bought warranties in the past and there was a refund if I traded the car in. Even the dealer I bought my new car from now told me to call the dealer I bought the car I traded in from to get the refund. If their practices are as shifty as this is, it is a disgrace. You should at least know what you are signing. When I bought the car, the dealer talked through the paperwork, but never said anything about this. Like I said, I would have refused it. I realize I should have read every line, but that is ridiculous. You should be told straight up about something this important. I would like a prorated refund. I can't afford to lose that much money. Please consider this.Thank you,Sharon

Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: This contract was signed by me, but I still disagree. When looking at the contract, all this information is on the back side. It was not discussed with me. I did not know the policy had these

clauses. This needs to be discussed when buying the policy. I feel this was deceptive sales practice. When selling something the entire contract should be discussed. I was NEVER told about the terms on the back of the page. The contract itself is eight pages long. The only page I signed was the front page. There is NOTHING on that page about this policy. If you want to be fair and upstanding, you should put this clause to the policy on the page that is signed. I still want a prorated refund.

Regards,

Review: GWC claims to provide a covered service in its warranty booklet. However it doesn't disclose the full nature of what isn't covered.

Ex: upper and lower control arm covered (which should include the bushings since its part of the component)

The service isn't covered because the bushings are serviceable and the actual control arm isn't broken. Who would actually know if their bushings were serviceable? Most people know the component is covered.

I was also told that this was a comprehensive warranty. At no time in my communication with this organization was I ever informed that it was a standard warranty package.

This company is also not willing to cover what is usual and customary for labor fees.

Ex: labor at [redacted] is $100/hr so of course you would look for somewhere else just as good but cheaper in cost.

This organization is only willing to pay $70 in labor cost. That is cheap! The only place I can get my car fixed for that rate is some substandard shop, with poor reviews and multiple complaints. The difference in labor cost would be my responsibility in addition to the deductible.

Because they failed to pay in a timely manner the last shop I used wasn't willing to repair my car again. He had authorization but payment was slow coming.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a portion of my repair cost refunded to me. The cost of the parts and 1/3 the cost of labor.

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this concern.

I have reviewed the customer’s statement of the problem and the claim details. The control arm bushings are not listed for coverage on this vehicle service contract. In regards to the labor coverage, the vehicle service contract does address labor coverage specifically as follows;

5. LABOR: Labor charges shall be based on the current ALLDATA Labor Guide and hourly rates shall be within accepted industry standards.

The repair claim was paid in accordance with the terms of the vehicle service contract.

I have attached a copy of the contract application for review.

Review: I purchased a GWC warranty on 7-5-13 at a dealership in AZ called [redacted]. The warranty has a clearly stated 30 day cancelation policy. Per GWC's policy the cancelation must be initiated by the selling dealer ( [redacted] ). According to [redacted] they cannot submit a Cancelation because their rep at GWC told them I do not qualify for the cancelation. No claims have been PAID on my warranty and I am within the 30 days. I stressed this to [redacted] ( Internet sales manager and my salesman ) but he told me they do alot of business with GWC and cannot go against them. I feel like I am being strong armed into keeping something I do not want.Desired Settlement: I want my warranty canceled and I want GWC to call [redacted] and tell them I am within my cancelation rights and to submit the cancelation request.

Review: I paid close to $3500 for the GWC extended auto warranty when I bought the car 2 years ago. One of the items that GWC says will cover is suspension system. Recently I went to the dealership and the dealer strongly suggested me to replace the front suspension because the suspension is not functioning properly, and the tire is a inch or so from hitting the side panel. according to the dealer, the suspension is so weak that it is not doing anything and causing me with tire problems, alignment issues, and some other related issues that I do not remember. So the dealer call GWC and requested a claim, GWC said that as long as the coil spring is not "broken", then it is not covered. I do not know how to define it to be broken (cut in half????), but the coil spring is not functioning, that means it needs to be replaced. GWC refused to honor it. Basically what GWC said was, you need to ride the car till the coil spring cut into half before they will replace it. I personally do not know if a piece of metal spring can really be cut into half.

all in all, this is a scam.Desired Settlement: cover the replacement of coil springs like what the dealership strongly recommended.

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern.

I have reviewed the customers concerns and the claim details

associated. The vehicle service contract does address the coverage of coil

springs specifically as follows;

SUSPENSION: Upper & lower

control arms; upper & lower ball joints; leaf & coil springs (only

if broken); wheel bearings; spindles

The coil springs are only covered under the terms of the

service contract if broken. Suggested replacement for being weak would not be

covered by GWC warranty.

I have attached a copy of the contract application for

review.

Review: Upon purchase of the GWC warranty policy, we were under the impression that the used car warranty would provide some solace and comfort in terms of buying a used car. Through the course of owning my car, I have had to take my car in for various repairs. Most of the time, I would find the warranty policy did not cover given that the repair. For example, my car was in need of CV joint repairs. When my mechanic attempted to call in about the claim, it was considered a "normal wear and tear" repair, and consequently, I was responsible for that repair, in spite of the part being listed on the brochure as covered.

Recently, I brought in my car for another repair. Again, the part was listed as covered on the brochure. "Fortunately," the repair was covered.

Through the course of the repair, I called both my mechanic and the claims department. During my initial call on June 12th to the claims department, I was told that the repair should be covered and that the claim would be going to the management for specifics regarding coverage.

On June 13th, I received a call from my mechanic stating that I was responsible for a portion of the repair as not all of it was covered by my warranty. My mechanic mentioned that the company would only pay a max of $70.00/hour for labor. Referencing my initial call into the claims department, I told my mechanic that the representative did not make mention of max on labor costs. As a result, I called in to the claims department and expressed my fustration with the misleading policy. The claims department basically told me that my mechanic was charging above and beyond for labor and their rate was industry standards. In essence, he told me it was my fault for going to this mechanic.

I asked for literature regarding the specifics of the policy, and all he told me to do was look at my contract's fine print. I also mentioned to him, that the company's website does not reflect proper information. He stated that the website only contains minimal information and that the contract should have been what I was referencing. I don't feel that was proper customer service just telling me to reference the contract.

I am extremely disappointed with the warranty policy I purchased. I have either been told that the repair is not covered. And now that there is a max on labor cost. The policy and the literature available online are VERY misleading. I feel that I have been paying into a policy, only to feel that I wasted my hard earned money over the course of 2 years. When purchasing a car in the future, I am unsure if I will purchase another GWC warranty policy.Desired Settlement: I would like to have all of these policies in writing as I don't recall this max on labor cost being reflected on the contract, specifying that it was $70.00/hour. Also, the claims department should be more clear at every inquiry. I feel that I got two separate answers from the two represenatives I spoke to. I do not feel I should be responsible for more that the specified deductible of $100.00.

Review: My beetle broke down over a month ago. Tool to several places, talked to GWC Warranty, my extended warrenty on my car. They told me they would cover mechanical failure, mechanic said it is the engine, Now they will not pay for it because when the car started to over heat I should have stopped that very second on the highway and not try to pull over to a safer spot. I could not just stop dead on a highway it would be too dangerous to others and myself. I pulled into a lot to get out of the way, a few miles..They have been yanking me around. When the first mechanic said it was something they said it was not covered, even when on the contract it sauid it was covered. it is going on an entire month now. I paid 1,695.00 for this contract. What are my rights.. I have a feeling even if I told them it took me a few minutes to pull over it would have been a minute too long...There was no possible way to pull over in a minute. Even if I did on the highway they would say you drove it over heating...It was always a reason for not covering my car..I do belive I was scammed by this company...I was looking online and found hundreds of complaints..When I bought this car they told me it would be a great idea to buy this it would really help you out... Really bad idea, I sure got screwed by them. I do not want anyone else to get hurt by them. They took your money but did nothing at all to help us...Desired Settlement: I want my car fixed and paid for by the GWC Warranty. I paid the money for the contract and now they will not fix it...Plus I want you people to be aware of this company. they will say, do anything to get around paying. It is so unfair to the hard working people to get ripped off by the likes of theses companies...What are my right ? What can I do to have them honor the contract...

The repair facility had noted that the vehicle had a leak

from a coolant flange, and had been overheated badly due to the lack of engine

coolant. GWC warranty then had an independent mechanical inspection completed

to verify these findings. The licensed mechanical inspector had also determined

that the internal engine damage was due to the continued operation while

overheating from the cracked coolant flange. The vehicle service contract

addresses the issues specifically as follows;

Thank you for contacting GWC warranty in response to this

concern.

I have reviewed the customers’ statement of the problem.

The “front control module” is not a component listed for

coverage on this vehicle service contract. The repair facility must initiate a

claim by contacting the GWC Claims department to obtain a Claim Authorization

Number prior to the work being completed.

The vehicle service contract addresses cancellations and

refunds specifically as follows;

13.

CANCELLATION(S) AND REFUND(S):

• You can cancel this Contract if Your Vehicle is declared a total loss by the insurance company

insuring Your Vehicle, or the Vehicle is validly repossessed by the Lien Holder. All cancellation requests

Dealer. If the Selling Dealer has

gone out of business, You can

Review: The dealership named [redacted] filed a claim through this warranty for a new motor on June 10, 2013. An inspector came out on June 10, 2013 and determined they were going to deny the claim due to it being a pre existing issue. I was some kind of written statement for the denial of this claim. I was told the dealership should be responsible because they sold me the vehicle with a bad motor. I have spoken to ** the manager to get a denial letter or a statement stating why they denied the claim and he informed me that my attorney would have to call in and get a statement. I informed him I did not have any attorney that I was going through the Revdex.com. ** then stated the Revdex.com could call in and get a statement if they wanted. I told him they could not because they were a third party. He stated he couldn't do anything about it. I just need a statement stating the reason they denied the claim on June 10, 2013.Desired Settlement: I would like a statement from the company that states they denied my claim for services due to the problems being pre existing.
