Actually, I did contact the plumber and the unit is installed properly - in fact it worked for months, so he is right, it must have been installed accurately or I wouldn't have had soft water for that period. I did try to get my plumber to come last weekend (2/17-18/2018) but he could not make it and I am going out of town this week and won't return till mid MarchI have agreed to replace the unit and let them know when it is accomplished and they would like the other unit back, which is fair. The company has worked diligently to resolve my issue - they dropped a new unit off at my house which I'll have to hire a plumber to replace - but that's ok, I'm just very glad to have a working unit, thank you. I truly appreciate this company's response and efforts.I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find the resolution is satisfactory to me

Neither the paperwork or anything on the website indicates this is a DIY unit. I had asked Menards what was their best water softener and the recommended this product. Because it was the most expensive and I wanted to verify I was getting a quality product I then asked a certified plumber and he agreed that this unit was the best. I thank you for sending Rex out to look at the unit, I have left both Rick and Rex messages that this did not fix the unit. Rex was a great guy, very kind and he was sure the unit was okay now, the settings are exactly where Rex left them but still the unit is not functioning, nor is it giving an error code. I really think that for this product to break down before a year is out should indicate that it is a lemon. I have left both of these gentlemen messages and hope to hear from them soon

I had a water softener company come to my house today,9/3/The Water Boss unit is not functioning at allHe said the reason for the salt hardening like it did was that the water level rose too high during a regeneration and caused all the salt in the tank to clump togetherIt is now one solid
piece of saltHe indicated that there are several complaints on the internet about the Water Boss company and their productsHe also said that it would be impossible to get the salt out of the salt tank without cutting the sides off the tankThe unit came with a year warrantyI purchased it exactly years agoThis company is not standing behind their warrantyThank You, *** ** ***

Dear Revdex.com: We have been trying to get touch with the customer. As previously mentioned we replaced a part but that did not resolve the problem. We made arrangements to go back out to her home and drop off a new unit since she felt the unit still did not work. While there we noticed that the unit was plumbed in backwards. The water softener has an "in" port and an "out" port for the water hook up. Whomever installed the unit installed it backwards which would cause the product not to work properly. We informed the customer and she said she would get someone to look into the plumbing. We called on 02/13/18 and the customer said she would not be able to get anyone to look at unit until after 03/05/18.  Unless the product is installed properly it will not work properly. Proper installation is required so the complaint should have been directed at whomever installed the unit. This complaint should not be on our account as the problem was not caused by us. Please remove it.  Thank you

The customer contacted
Waterboss in February, April and recently August of 2015. Three calls
in all. A salt bridge that has formed in a water softener salt container can be
caused usually either by two different salts mixed together or in the summer
months when there is high humidity where the salt above the waterline can
harden. Normally you just add more water to the salt
container and it dissolves the salt and the salt bridge breaks up with a
little help from stirring it around. Hot water added to the salt container
makes it happen faster. If the customer is not able to break up the salt bridge
or do maintenance on their own we can also provide the name of a service company whom the customer may contact to arrange for a service call. We also offer technical support over the phone. The customer can
always send the softener into Waterboss for repair however this type of routine service item is usually preformed by the customer.

I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find the resolution is satisfactory to me.

I spoke to Mr. S[redacted] on Friday. He said he was shipping me a new iron filter. He told me he would not pay half the shipping cost to return the defective unit to him. I paid $164.27 cents to return the unit. I forwarded the email below explaining that he had in fact agreed to spit the cost of...

returning the unit to him. I have not heard back. I send a receipt to verify the cost of shipping. Also, I send him a copy of our agreement that I signed and dated asking him to sign and date it and return it to me for my records. To date I have heard nothing. I know I would have received no cooperation from the company without the involvement of the Revdex.com which I am very greatful. I’m hoping the Revdex.com will continue to be involved and keep the complaint open until the issue is resolved completely. Thank you so much. HelloWe had been in contact with Mr. [redacted] over the last few weeks and it was our understanding that the problem had been remedied.  thank youDavid H[redacted]

The water softener has no malfunction  mechanically.
There is just a salt bridge in the salt  tank. Any water softener has the
potential for a salt bridge.
Depending on what kind of salt is used the salt tank should have maintenance  (cleaned out) every one to three years. The three year warranty as stated in
the owners manual  is on mechanical or electronic part  which is
found to be defective in materials or workmanship for the water softener and
does not cover service or labor.  We try to address reviews we find to get the customer satisfied with our
product and reviews whether good or bad help us know what we can do to
help customers. As  with all reviews there are two sides
to the story. I think the salt  tank could be cleaned out. If the
salt  tank was cleaned out the softener should function to soften the
water.

The original softener the customer bought was four years old. We had 1 phone call and sold the customer $39.21 worth of parts.  For the softener the customer has now, we have received 3 phone calls. The first was because there was too much water in the salt tank. We told the...

customer they needed to clean the drain end cap as debris must have gotten into the part. The second call was to tell us the drain line had came of the  softener so we instructed how to reattach. The third call was to tell us the softener was not working so we assisted in trouble shooting. The customer said they did not want to work on it any more. We recommended the customer return the unit to the store.

Rick from Water Boss ext 136 called me and told me the they honored thewarranty the product is now registered and will be covered for futureclaims under warranty guidelines.Thank you Revdex.com!

Waterboss has returned the requested agreement. I am not sure what else is asked.

9.21.15 Consumer notified Revdex.com that the company has addressed his complaint.

As a company we try to help are customer as much as we can. Our products are sold though local retails stores as a DIY softener. Usually if we have a problem with the softener we have a technical support team that you can call that can help you get the unit working again in a short time. But...

to better serve this customer we sent a representative to look at the unit and get it back to working order. The serviceman has been to the home and got the problem resolved.
