I am rejecting this response because:the issue is not a "salt bridge". The salt cabinet is one SOLID block of salt. There is no way to break this up. They mentioned humidity or salt type being the cause. I have used the same salt and the unit is in the same humidity controlled basement as it has always been. If a service call is made, they will tell me the same thing. The salt cannot be broken up. I tried adding hot water as they recommended with no success. It is not feasible to ship the unit to them as it weighs well over 100 pounds. I have read several bad reviews of this company on line describing the exact same issues I have with them and their product. If you go to their site, all you will read is how great their product is. Go to a neutral site and you will find a very different set of reviews. I have had this unit for 2 years. Their representative, Rick, called me personally and indicated that since I have had it for 2 years, I shouldn't have much to complain about. After all, " it's not like it's only been 90 days since I got it ". Their "warranty" is for 3 years. He told me that my issue is not covered under warranty. This is not stated in the owners manual. It does not work properly and that is what the warranty covers. Read the reviews on this company and see what a disgrace it is that they are allowed to keep operating a business in this manner. I am replacing their faulty unit with a different brand. I will not accept anything other than a partial refund as a remedy as I would never use their product again. I will also inform anyone looking for a water softener to stay far away from this brand and any products related to it.
