So I filed a complaint with the way this company for telling me I was approved for an apartment and giving me a move out day then telling me I was denied after I put in a notice with my current apartmentThe original complaint was filed on 7/15/The same day I was called back and told there was a mix up and I was deniedAlso during the phone call where I was told I was denied I was told my holding fee would be returned within two weeksAs of today 8/7/I have yet to receive thatI called the property several times and was always told I needed to speak to Kayla if my call even got answered at allI left many messages and no calls we're returnedI even left a message with the lady who gave me her number in the last complaint and told me I could call with any questionsNo one returned my callI finally got a hold of someone in accounting today and she told me oh u we're just denied as of AugI explained to her that that was untrue and I was told of my deniel mid SeptemberShe said she was sorry but she just got it thus my cheach would not be ready until AugThat is a month not the two weeks originally promisedOnce again I'm dealing with a company that continues to prove they do not keep their word.I think in all good efforts this company should offer something for the time and money I have wased with themI have yet to get so much as an apology for the approval causing me to give my landlord a day notice..I am not asking to get approved as I did find a beautiful property in westerville and BTW...this company said they have not seen anything on my rental history that goes along with what this company said was the reason for the change in statusAgain I honestly believe there wa

The lease we signed was negated by your failure to provide a safe, habitable unitFailure on your behalf to protect my safety, my health and my peace of mind left us unable to comply with any provisions that the lease may or may not have includedAnytime there are dangerous animals roaming you create an unsafe environment for people and their property, petsFailure to properly vent the furnace pipes, let air draw back down into the unit from the vent exposing us to carbon monoxideFailure to address improperly vented toilets let sewer gases into the unit, this was addressed on the move in inspection and never once investigatedOhio law clearly states you have a responsibility to the tenant to address and remedy problems that make your unit uninhabitableDid we speak to different people at the Licking County Fire Deptoffice? Along with recorded calls from your property manager we have enough proof to present in a court of law, that it was your property managers failure or incompetence, to remedy the myriad of problems at the complex

The Regional Manager for Millstream Village, Helen Z***, personally visited with this resident yesterday, July 5th She explained that it is our Company policy that we don't service air conditioners unless it is degrees or above We also cannot work on A/C's after dark When the resident called the answering service, the temperature was under degrees so the call did not get paged out Maintenance did find that the unit had "frozen up" so he had to let it thaw before he could fix the problem Helen confirmed with the maintenance tech that it was fixed yesterday, July 5th.Our answering service listened to a recording of the call and found that the agent that took this call did answer unprofessionally to the screen situation The answering service will sit with the operator and instruct her on proper procedure on how to handle calls

[redacted] My husband sent a response but he failed to mention that I [redacted] came back to visit ladies days after we moved out their names are ***, [redacted] and [redacted] all live in the 2nd floor my daughter and baby were with me! We saw [redacted] the property manager she said nothing about the apt or odors or anything and before we left I asked about the deposit check and she said that it had been mailed!!!! She is such a liar just wait till Oakwood finds out what she does behind their backs! And if you think for one minute the privacy act was not violated just as [redacted] and [redacted] how they know about ***s husband being in a nursing home in Florida?????? They were laughing about it when they told me and my daughter ! How disgusting is [redacted] ? But the fact of the matter is before we moved she told me all about Oars private life I never said a word to anyone and that's why I wS shocked when [redacted] and [redacted] knew! Yes Oakwood you have a real gem in [redacted] ! Good Afternoon,Thank you for reaching out to me and allowing us an opportunity to respondI have thoroughly reviewed the file of the person who filed this complaint and have found no bogus chargesThere were many damages to the unit he was in possession of and he was charged appropriatelyHe was sent numerous letters after his move out, to what is still his current address, regarding the outstanding balance, but did not contact our corporate office to discuss the chargesThis is the first contact that we have had with this prior resident since We do have photos and a documented list of each individual charge as wellI also show no paperwork validating his claim that the property manager settled on these chargesAny removal of charges must be verified through our corporate office and we have nothing at all in his file that would suggest a conversation of that regard ever took placeWe have proper channels that we must go through with every resident to ensure quality, so I can guarantee if this had been done, we would have some type of documentation to back it upHe has spoken with our head of collections who has thoroughly explained the charges and sent the photos to him as well for reviewAt this time he is still responsible for the entire outstanding balance of $119.Thank you again for your time!

Hello and thank you for bringing this complaint to my attentionAt this time, the resident has paid late and gained late fee monthly since JulyHe has failed to pay any of said late feesIt is Oakwoods policy to apply all payments to the longest dated owed balanceThe office staff has tried to work with him, and allow him to pay, giving him many notices and remindersOakwood did wave previous late fee for him as well, as a courtesyThey again, accepted his December rent on the 1st, without the late fees paidOur late fee policies have not changed, and this resident signed a new lease agreement stating that he understood our late fee and payment policiesWe do ask that he please make an attempt to pay the remaining late fees in a timely manor so that we do not have to apply his rental payment to the late feesThank you again for bringing this issue to my attention and allowing for my response

Good Afternoon and thank you for taking the time to inform us of this complaintThis resident did allow the release of a partner tenantAt that she qualified on her own financially for the apartmentWe do verify income in order to prevent issues like this from occurringMyself personally as well as the leasing staff and onsite manager have offered her numerous options in order to help her situationOne was the contract buy out, which is the "$5000" she had mention aboveHer contract buy out amount was $We do understand that is not an option for her at this time, so we had offered for her to move out, and we would attempt to re-rent her unit as quickly as possible in order for her to no longer be responsible for the remaining months of her lease, and avoid an evictionShe refused that offer as wellUnfortunately we can not release her from her lease or change it to a month to month leaseWe have made a legally binding agreement and it would go against fair housing if we allowed one person to break a lease due to financial hardship, but not anotherI have tried to explain this personally to the resident but she refused to understand, claiming that we do not care, are selfish and cold heartedWe would love to work with her and assist her through this difficult time, but she must be willing to work with us as wellAgain I thank you for your time and allowing our company to respond to this claim

After reviewing the maintenance file and speaking with the maintenance facilitator, I am confident that there are no leaks in the apartment.The staff has checked the washer and there are no leaks It is fully operational.The maintenance request was completed in a timely manner No compensation will be provided.Thank you

I don't believe this issue has been resolvedI would like the policy to change and not only that it should change but it clearly states on their website hour maintenance with NO acceptions whatsoeverTherefor that should be removedI understand it was a holiday weekend but we called on Sunday and not Monday which was the actual holidayShe came to our apartment to show faceThen after listening to what we had to say she rushed out the door to talk to the mainenance manShe did apologise but that is not enoughI want to make sure that this format happen again or even more so, happen to some elseEpescially someone elderly or some one with health issuesIt was horrible in our house over the weekend and I understand there are people in worse situations but that's why we have worked hard and pay more so as that we do NOT end up like thatHad it been my husband and me then ok but it wasn't My young daughter was sleepy and tired all dayMy baby daughter was agitated, sweaty and restless all dayI had to stay awake and watch her sleep because she could not be swaddled and I was afraid of her flipping herselfHelen did not seem to care when I mentioned thisI don't want to have issuesWe just want to stay quietly until our house is completeHowever under no circumstances do I feel this issue has been resolvedI accept their apology but something has to changeThis has happened to us twice since we moved in here and I'll be damned if it happens again!!!
