I'd like to start off by thanking the Revdex.coms for having a review sectionI chose Harris Construction from the Revdex.com's list of contractors to remodel my bathroom, and I am very satisfied with my choiceI don't have any complaints about the work that was doneDarnell and Mike did an excellent job, and the job was completed within the time frame that Darnell said it would beDarnell and Mike were also helpful with different ideas about the remodelLike most people who are searching for a contractor, I didn't know if I had made the right choice by choosing Harris ConstructionI can now say that I did make the right choice, and I can also say that I have chosen this company to remodel another bathroom, and also build a deck around my swimming poolI would recommend Harris Construction to friends and family because I know that they would be satisfied too

I purchased a groupon for $I used it to purchase a month's worth of personal trainer foods, and had to spend extra $for shippingThey claim that their foods are all natural and have no preservativesHowever, when delivery arrived, the ingredient list showed that to be untrue, majority of the foods contained soy and other fillers which I cannot eatContacted personal trainer foods, they did not address the fact that they were advertisingThey said I could send the remaining food back at my expense and they would refund meI complained about the shippingThey said they would credit me $It cost $for me to return the food backOn top of this, the food cannot be resold as it was perishableSo I had to spend $to return something back that was falsely advertised to mePersonal trainer foods then told me to contact groupon for my refund of the groupon cost, luckily this was resolved quickly; however, it was more time and effort on my end

Tim H. recently replaced my entire septic system at our cabin in Heber Springs. His work was outstanding! From the prework layout to the placing of the hundreds of feet of pvc to the setup of a pump, Tim did what he said he would do and for the price he gave me on the front end. I highly recommend Tim Harris Construction. Thanks again Tim for a great job on a tough piece of property!

Review: I signed contract with Mr. Harris to build a 768 sq. ft. cabin July,2013.The price and time to complete changed. My property sat for weeks with no construction done.I gave Mr. Harris 6,000.00 in cash up front to get construction started,paid for land in cash. I have lost 30,000.00 in cash on this project. I had to continually call and demand job to be started immediately. Finally, he sent man to dig well. Property sat for another couple weeks. I had to call and demand again something get done. Mr. Harris sent one man out to the property to start on the cabin. The worker was a family member who worked 2-3 hrs. per day for only 4 days a week. There was not a building permit posted on site during construction. The county inspector said there was no need to post permit,that county knew what was going on at property. I thought everyone was to follow the rules of posting permits. Mr. Harris continued with delaying the project,and he would not compromise. My flooring was left out in the rain. Flooring warped. He would not replace.He said don't worry, we do this all the time. Finally, I asked about Time of completion again it changed. I stopped work on cabin. He filed lien. I held Mr. Harris money draw. Mr. Harris would finish siding,correct soil,but would not finish trim that he started and got paid for,which I agreed,and he released lien. Mr. Harris did not do the work that he said he would do,nor would he compromise. He removed septic tank from property,when I stopped work. Now, I found out on Dec.9,2013 that I have no septic,that Mr. Harris was paid to install. He also did not install heating system,and warped floors that he got paid for,The exterior trim was started but he would not complete it,even though he got paid for it. Finally, there was not a building permit posted. I have had nothing but disappointments and people warning me of the inability of this contractor to treat customers in an honest and fair manner.Mr. Harris did not do the right thing. He took advantage of me.Desired Settlement: Install my septic tank,and heating system,as in inspection report.

Building Permit Issued - August 1,2013

Construction began - August 7,2013

Two months later - House was under roof, windows and doors, rough wiring and plumbing, well and rough

grading, insulation, walls and floor were in place. Exterior siding laytttg on front porch.

Everything seemed to be going well. 'We were ready for second draw from the Bank. Bank had sent

Inspector out for inspection.

Mrs. [redacted] came into my office Friday, September 27 ,2013. She was being kicked out of her place she was

staying and wanted me to finish house in 2 weeks. I told her it wouldbe2-3 months to finish. She left

crying. She installed a For Sale by Owner sign on the property that same day.

Monday, September 30,2013, Mrs. [redacted] put a sign on the cabin door for Harris Builders to stop work.

[redacted] had the insulation company from Roanoke, VA was on their way. I let them insulate house.

I called Mrs. [redacted], she would not answer. I called from another number, she answered but said she was too

mad to talk. This went back and forth several times. (She called me or I called her, most of the time she

would hang up on me). She would also leave voice messages stating she was too mad to talk to [redacted].

Tuesday, October I,2013, after she told me she was selling house, I placed a Mechanics Lien on property. I

changed the lock on house. Mrs. [redacted] had moved clothes and food into house.

Mrs. [redacted] refused to sign for Bank to release next paynent which was due October 1,2013. It was on

November 2I,2013 before I received payment. Once I received payment I released the Mechanic Lien on

November 2I,2013.

Within the next 10 days we installed exterior siding as agreed on and repaired the erosion problem.

During the 4 months house was put under roof, I had to call and complain continually,to get work started or done.4 MONTHS LATER, HOME IS STILL A SHELL, EVEN IF HE DID RETURN ITEMS TO HOME. I was told 2 -4 months be completed. TO FINISH JOB COMPLETELY, TAKE HIM 8 MOS.

Mr. Harris had one man working 2 hours a day, only 4 days a week. The job was ongoing delays.I informed MR. Harris I had to be in home by November. I DID NOT TELL MR. HARRIS I WAS BEING KICKED OUT OF PLACE I was STAYING, as I was staying at several places waiting to move into cabin. I informed Mr. Harris , that I no longer could stay at friends, family. I asked if he could have cabin finished by Oct. 14. He replied no. . I said o.k. . I then ASKED IF cabin would be completed by NOV. AS WE VERBALLY AGREED. HE REPLIED NO.HE SaiD it would be SEVERAL MORE MONTHS. I had exalted my funds to stay at friends, family, rental, motels, and could not continue pay for rental, and a mortgage. I left upset CRYING.I DID HANG UP ON MR. HARRIS. I FELT BETRAYED,TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF. I COULD NOT TALK TO SOMEONE WHO TREATED PEOPLE IN THIS MANNER. HE DID NOT FULFILL HIS VERBAL COMMITMENT TO COMPLETING HOME AS WE AGREED BY NOVEMBER. I could not talk to him because I no longer trusted this contractor. I needed to find another contractor. HE TOLD ME HOME would BE COMPLETED BY NOVEMBER. When I was told home not completed in November, I stopped work.

I asked Mr. Harris if he would Buy back home, and he said that was possibility, then he said no. Mr. Harris locked me out of home, filed mechanics lien, removed hot water heater, septic tank, well pump, no water line to house, installed insulation after I stopped work, without getting wiring inspected, with the county inspector office. No building permit posted, INSPECTOR SAID DID NOT NEED TO DO POSTING PERMIT. I WAS UNAWARE THESE ITEMS WERE MISSING, UNTIL ANOTHER CONTRACTOR HAD TOLD ME, A WEEK AFTER I HAD SETTLED WITH MR. HARRIS. NOW I WAS REALLY UPSET. MONEY GONE,ITEMS GONE. MORTGAGE TO PAY ON A HOME THAT WAS NOT COMPLETED.

Mr. Harris would not compromise and fix 3 issues ,until I released 2nd draw to him. I had to get a mediator to intervene,release lien, fix soil and erosion, and install siding. and I would release check. Mr. Harris did not file LIEN RELEASE AS AGREED, I had to pay 21.00 do that. Mr. Harris used my straw to spread over property. Soil and erosion was not my responsibility.

Week after settling with Mr. Harris, I found out from contractors, that the SEPTIC TANK WAS gone, not installed. WELL PUMP gone, HOT WATER heater gone, but I do have pics of them, WATER LINE not installed, wiring for stove, heating not installed, per inspection with bank inspector, EXTERIOR SOFFITTS. THESE ITEMS WERE TO BE INSTALLED WITH the 2 Draws Mr. Harris received. 2 WEEKS AFTER MR. HARRIS INSTALLED SIDING, THE SIDING IS NOW WARPED CRACKED, NOT PROPERTLY INSTALLED ACCORDING TO CONTRACTORS,AND IS NOW COMING APART, FLOORING WARPED,DUE TO ROOF NOT INSTALLED,RAINED ON FLOOR. ALL EXTERIOR WORK SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN 2ND DRAW.

ACCORDING TO BUYERS, MY PROPERTY IS NOW WORTH LESS THAN 38,000.00 BECAUSE OF THE ITEMS THAT WERE REMOVED FROM MY HOME BY MR. HARRIS. THESE ITEMS WERE TO BE INSTALLED FROM 2ND AND FIRST DRAWS. MR. HARRIS HAS RECEIVED 6,000.00 CASH AND 47,630 FROM BANK. 53,000.00 HE HAS RECEIVED.

I HAVE ONLY A SHELL OF A HOME THAT I AM UNABLE TO SELL NOW, BECAUSE OF THE ITMES REMOVED BY MR. HARRIS. I AM UNABLE TO PAY OFF THE BANK LOAN.

I FEEL HE SHOULD RETURN 20,0O0 TO BANK OF THE 53,000.00 HE HAS RECEIVED OR RETURN THESE ITEMS TO HOME,,, HE ONLY DID LESS THAN 38,000 WORTH OF WORK TO MY HOME. MY HOME IS NOT WORTH 53,000 ANYMORE I HAD A BUYER BEFORE ITEMS REMOVED, FOR 45,000.00 BUT WHEN THEY SAW ITEMS REMOVED. 35,000.00 IS ALL THEY WOULD OFFER NOW. MR . HARRIS HAS CAUSED ME HARDSHIP,MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL DISTRESS AND LOSS OF MONEY,AND A HOME.

I DID MOVE MY ITEMS INTO HOME, BECAUSE I HAD TO GET THEM OUT OF STORAGE. FOOD WAS NOT STORED AT HOME. I COULD NO LONGER AFFORD MORTGAGE, MOTELS, PAYING FRIENDS,FAMILY. I HAD NO WHERE ELSE TO PUT ITEMS. IT IS MY HOME.

MR.HARRIS IS NOT GOING TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR THIS CONSUMER,AS THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE TO OTHER NIEVE,TRUSTING,CONSUMERS ACCORDING TO CONTRACTORS AND NEGIHBORS.

If Mrs. [redacted] would have paid me for work when bank released second payment and would have let me finished the house, she would have been in house before Christmas, warm and comfortable.

When she would not pay me I removed items that were not attached or installed. They were not on premises when bank sent appraiser to inspect for 2nd payment.

There were delays when first started with grading. It was raining 3 and 4 days a week.

BECAUSE OF BROKEN VERBAL AGREEMENT ON COMPLETION DATE, AND DELAYS, ETC. THAT IS WHY MY NAME IS ATTACHED TO CHECK, BECAUSE OF THESE TYPES OF ISSUES. BANK WAS AND WOULD NOT AND DID NOT RELEASE 2ND PAYMENT UNTIL I AGREED ,WHEN WE CAME TO AGREEMENT. .AFTER THAT, I WOULD SIGN CHECK AND PAY MR. HARRIS. .. I WAS NOT GOING TO SIGN CHECK UNTIL AGREEMENT WAS MET AND WORK DONE. ON 3 ITEMS THAT I LISTED. I WAS NOT INFORMED OF APPRAISER GONG OUT ON 2ND DRAW. I ASSUMED THAT SEPTIC TANK WAS IN, PUMP IN,HOT WATER HEATER, WATER LINE TO HOUSE, AS THIS ALL WAS TO BE IN DRAW.I AM SURE APPRAISER AND BANK THOUGHT THE SAME THING,AS DID MR. [redacted], THOUGHT THESE ITEMS WERE INSTALLED.

THERE WERE DELAYS, THROUGHOUT THE 2 MOS. AND NOT ALL BECAUSE OF THE RAIN. MR. HARRIS DID NOT HONOR THE VERBAL AND WRITTEN AGREEMENT WE HAD SIGNED. HE. DID NOT RECORD NOR PAY FOR THE RELEASE OF THE LIEN, HE USED STRAW I HAD PURCHASED TO SPREAD ON THE GROUND, INSTALLED THE WRONG THICKNESS OF SIDING ,LEFT SIDING UNCOVERED. AND NOW SIDING IS WARPED AND BULKING. 2 WEEKS AFTER SETTLING, SEVERAL CONTRACTORS TOLD ME SEPTIC TANK NOT IN, HOT WATER TANK GONE, , WATER LINE NOT IN, AND WELL PUMP NOT INSTALLED. THESE ITEMS WERE TO BE INCLUDED IN DRAWS. FROM MONEY HE RECEIVED

IF I HAD KNOWN THESE ITEMS HAD BEEN REMOVED, I WOULD HAVE LISTED THESE ITEMS, AND I WOULD NOT HAVE SIGNED CHEC K UNTIL THESE ITEMS WERE INSTALLED. . I WAS DECEIVED AND TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE HE DID NOT INFORM ME OF THESE ITEMS NOT BEING INSTALLED., BEFORE OR AFTER HE RECEIVED CHECK.. ,

BECAUSE HE FAILED TO INSTALL ITEMS PROPERLY, THE SIDING IS NOW WARPED, COMING APART, BULKING, AND CONTRACTORS SAID WRONG THICKNESS WAS USED, AND THAT IS WHY BULKING AND COMING APART. BECAUSE MR. HARRIS REMOVED SEPTIC TANK, WATER HEATER,WELL PUMP AND NO WATER LINE, ,I AM STUCK WITH A CABIN NOT WORTH 53,000.00 OF THE CHECK MR. HARRIS WAS PAID FOR WORK NOT COMPLETED.

AS FOR WARM AND COMFORTABLE, I AM WARM AND COMFORTABLE,. I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN A COMMUNITY WHERE THERE IS DECEPTION...I RATHER BE COLD AND MISERABLE.
