Dear Mr. [redacted],
We owe you an apology for late delivery for your Father-in-law’s birthday gift.  In review, I find that there was an inventory delay that caused the shipment to go forward later than anticipated. Due to unfortunate circumstances the vender that we represent fell behind in...

manufacturing the Birthday Cake Pops but assured Harry and David that they would still make it by the requested date for delivery.  Unfortunately that was not the case for the gift going to your Father-in-law.  We have since spoken with the vender to prevent this from happening to other customers in the future.
We want our customers and their recipients to be 100 percent delighted.  In this endeavor we sadly have failed you and your recipient.  When problems occur, our guarantee states that “we’ll make it right with either an appropriate replacement or a full refund – whichever you prefer.”  To stand behind our guarantee, we show that a full refund was issued as of December 29th 2015.
We understand that fulfillment of our guarantee doesn’t resolve the fact we have missed your Father-in-laws birthday.  We cannot apologize enough for this unfortunate incident. We would appreciate an opportunity to make amends but we have been unable to reach you by telephone.  If you wish, please contact Harry and David at your convenience so we can make this right and stand behind our products and services.

During a recent submission to the Revdex.com, you made the request to apply multiple discounts to an order.  I’d like to take a few moments to address this.
As we developed our pricing strategy, we considered the strengths of our merchandise and the...

requirements of our customers.  Our core gifts are based upon items already in limited supply; that is, our Harry and David fruit has a finite quantity with limited shelf life.  Other products may have comparable limitations.  With those factors in place, additional discounting is not a prudent business position for us.  Therefore, our discount policy as shown on our website, catalogs and coupons states that we do not apply more than one discount per order.  We are always happy to apply the greatest saving between the available discounts.
Gifts from Harry and David are always welcome, and every item we ship is backed by the strongest guarantee in the business.  We also believe customers like you have an appreciation for unique, high quality merchandise.  Because of the variety, value and appropriateness of our products, we feel confident that the reception received from your gift recipients outweighs a monetary adjustment.
We hope to have your understanding that we do not extend ongoing discounts of this nature to any of our customers, including those who have been with us for many years.  We have an obligation to treat all of our customers equally, and to [redacted] some but decline others would be fair to no one.  Although multiple discounts will not be given if you choose to order with us in the future, you can be sure we’ll do our best to provide you with the fines products and quality service you’ve come to expect from Harry and David.
